Bix
Not sure why I hadn't started this yet since I've been their wrestling columnist for a couple months, but with my Frank Deford article going up today, now is as good a time as any: How Frank Deford Helped Pro Wrestling Journalism Become Very Real. For everything I've done there, my Kinja author page is the place to go (Kinja is the content management system used across all of Gizmodo Media Group). Because I'm a freelancer and not staff, I have a separate commenter account (because there needs to be an account that can post articles the site but I can't use that one). My favorites so far (in addition to the Deford article) are probably: My discovery via FOIA that the the FBI bugged Vince McMahon Sr. and Jim Crockett Sr., catching Vince admitting to threatening Jerry Graham with blackballing. My Vince Russo origins piece, discussing how 25 years after he first became a well-known figure in wrestling by bashing reporters who cover wrestling, Vince Russo...launched a new podcast bashing reporters who cover wrestling. The Keith Lee profile that I interviewed him for (also with quotes from Donovan Dijak and Beyond promoter Drew Cordeiro), with a good bit of focus on him being the WM weekend 2017 MVP. The Shinsuke Nakamura profile, which I talked to Simon Inoki for.
brockobama
The Deford article led me to read The Boxer and The Blonde for the first time in a number of years, so thanks for that, I guess.
Eduardo
The Nakamura and Deford pieces were great, need to still read the Keith Lee profile.
Bix
A look at DDT's rise to being the biggest indie promotion in japan (and maybe even the world) through the lens of the Suzuki-Takagi empty Tokyo Dome match: http://deadspin.com/japan-s-most-ridiculous-wrestling-promotion-hits-somewh-1795957240
Bix
On how Dave Meltzer's star ratings became a big deal and the Okada-Omega ratings are (probably) not him trolling: http://deadspin.com/rating-pro-wrestlings-new-best-match-ever-is-way-more-1796026082
Bix
I've been neglecting this thread a bit: 10 Years Ago, WWE Killed Vince McMahon In Its Most Ridiculous Storyline Ever 10 Years After The Chris Benoit Killings, Pro Wrestling Still Can't Fix Itself Women In Wrestling Have Taken A Hard Road To Get To Where They Are Now Samoa Joe Can't Be Stopped Enjoy.
