[1984-03-17-Mid South] Midnight Express championship celebration

At the start of the episode Bill Watts is at ringside interviewing Mr Wrestling II about his recent heel turn.    They show the finish of the match from March 13th in Lafayette LA.   

For the Mid South Tag Titles, NO DQ, Loser gets Ten Lashings.   Mr Wrestling II and Magnum TA defend the belts against the Midnight Express.   Wrestling II walks out on his partner, Bobby Eaton hits Magnum with then tennis racket, puts Dennis Condrey on top for the pin.   The MX and Cornette win the Tag Team Titles!!!

Jim Ross is at ringside with Cornette and the MX.   They have on party hats and there is a big cake for their championship celebration.  Cornette says none of the fans or J.R. are invited to the party.   Eaton and Condrey walk around to the other side of the ring as Cornette cuts the cake.   But the Rock and Roll Express run in and smash Cornette's face in the cake!!! What a shock!!!   Rock and Rolls run off as Cornette rolls around on the floor covered in icing and cake.   Bill Watts is on commentary and thinks its the funniest thing he's ever seen, letting out raucous belly laughs.  

They replay the incident at the end of the episode, Cornette, still covered with cake,  screams that his mother is gonna sue JR ,Grizzly Smith, the fans, everyone in Mid South.   He's furious that they have replayed it again.   Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and says if they are going to sue anyone, Sue Me.  Cornette flips out poking the big bear, Watts tells him "Don't put your hands on me, Sissy.  You're not equipped for it, Sissy."  Watts starts to walk away but Cornette grabs him, the Cowboy slaps the hell out of Cornette and knocks him to the floor as the show goes off the air.

---- The following week (episode 238, 3/24/84), Bill Watts is interviewing Butch Reed about the TV Title Tournament, Jim Cornette shows up without a microphone, screaming at Watts, who says "Somebody get this sissy out of here".   But it's a distraction, as Bobby and Dennis run out and start beating the hell out of Watts.   Cornette and the MX beat down and bloody the retired Cowboy with a blackjack club and leave him laying out cold.  Rock and Rolls, Terry Taylor come out to help, but it is too late!
