Fast-paced technical wrestling that wouldn’t look even slightly out of place today. 4 1/2* PETER MAIVIA & PEPPER GOMEZ & PEPPER MARTIN vs RIPPER COLLINS & PAUL DEMARCO & HARU SASAKI (12/04/1971; Big Time San Francisco; 00:02:20) PAT PATTERSON vs ROCKY JOHNSON (12/04/1971; Big Time San Francisco; 00:03:09) ANTONIO INOKI vs DICK MURDOCH (12/04/1971; JWA World Champion Series; 00:26:04) Inoki defends the NWA UN Title. It was vacated upon his firing and won by Seiji Sakaguchi and Akihisa Takachiho (the future Great Kabuki) before the JWA closed. Jumbo Tsuruta revived the belt three years later.
