Seriously, I didn't expect Luther to get released. He's got the WWE-mandated hoss credentials and he's not completely terrible in the ring. Guest Some Guy
Slapnuts posted this at J*Wing: Wade Keller has an 80 minute Audio Interview with Luther up for PWtorch VIP members. I just started listening to it. The gist of it is, Luther asked for his release. He wasn't happy with how he was being used, and he actually has investments in real estate and in small business along with his wife, which stand to yield huge dividens, and it was splitting his time and didn't feel for the money he was making in WWE it was worth ignoring where he feels the big money is. So it sounds like he's leaving wrestling (for now) to focus on his investments. He also talks about how he got the nickname Horshu in prison because he's been lucky to survive all he has. All the stories about being stabbed, shot, etc. from TV he says are all true. So there you go. If anything else interesting comes up I'll post it. He was frustrated with not being able to talk more, and be Horsehoe. "I had so many fucking things to say, I know how to fucking fight, I was in prison! Gimme the fucking mic, let me fucking be me and tell my story". Yes he curses a lot. Every other words is fucking.

Him and everyone else who had a clue. Luther might not have been the most polished of workers, but he was great on the mic, and they blew their best chance at getting him over by not having him talk for practically the first six months of his stint. Strummer
PWI: According to several sources, Luther Reigns' release yesterday stemmed from his request to depart the company after feeling that he wasn't being utilized to his full potential as he was getting older with a shorter timeframe to perform in the ring. One source told me Reigns actually voiced his concerns to management right before Wrestlemania. There's no heat over his decision to leave as he was up front with management about his concerns as opposed to complaining behind their backs. The word going around was also that Reigns wanted more time to deal with real estate investments he has in Arizona, where he resides. There's always a chance he could back down the line since he left on great terms but most I spoke to were of the opinion that he had used the industry to set himself up financially to work on real estate projects (something a number of other WWE performers do to set themselves up for the future, including Dawn Marie) and that was where his energies were concentrated right now. Reigns leaving the European tour last month was totally unrelated to his release, as he was sent home due to illness.
