Daniel Bryan really did his best to get Reigns over on Raw, what a tremendous promo. Fire and honesty and made you believe completely in what he was saying, having the crowd in the palm of his hand teasing a heel turn. That whole exchange was the best thing on WWE television all year, and RR is starting to look like a star.
-
Really? His run on top was a critical and commercial disaster. If it wasn't for Eddie Guerrero it would be remembered as the worst title reign in company history.
-
in 2006 people wanted to see Rey Mysterio win and they went with it I remember 2006 being because they wanted to capitalize on the death of Eddie Guerrero, and having a ready made 'Rey wins it for his tragically deceased homie' angle. There wasn't much of a popular groundswell, and there would have been no backlash had it not happened. Many people thought the timing left a bad taste and made it seem like Rey was just there so they could run a tribute.

All in all though that was a terrible show. Had no big time feel to it at all and every match underwhelmed, not helped by the uninspired and uninspiring crowd.
-
Roman Reigns did look and act like a star. Shout out again to the camera work which caught all the right shots and managed to capture the emotional heart of the match, adding to the story. Those forearms from Roman Reigns looked nasty as fuck.

Took Daniel Bryan to finally get the crowd into the show. If they waste him on some pointless undercard match at Wrestlemania they are morons. Should have him face Rusev, although who knows where the leaves John Cena. The match wasn't bad. Started out smartly, enjoyable first five minutes which is a complete rarity in a WWE main event match. Tailed off but picked it up for the stretch which was reasonable enough.

They are working the opening very similar to Joe v Danielson at MXR. Probably smart if they follow the entire prototype for that match.
-
At least with the crowd being so awful Roman Reigns won't get shit on if he goes over clean.
-
Really don't see the point in them running Cena vs Rusev now if, as seems obvious, they are doing a rematch at Wrestlemania. Takes away the novelty value, and also takes away any doubt about the outcome as Cena will clearly be getting his win back. The match itself was alright, unspectacular. Well put together without ever being especially compelling.

Yeah, the crowd really sensed how phony he was when they were swaying along with him while he was singing "he's got the whole world in his hands" during the Cena match at Wreslemania. A quirky catchphrase getting over for a few weeks isn't equivalent to the worker being over. Doesn't mean they bought the gimmick. If you watch most of his matches the crowd are completely silent for the body of them.

Problem is, they went all out on Bray for months and he really didn't get over. His matches were heat vacuums. You can't exactly say they weren't behind the character, and I certainly don't buy that him losing to John Cena at Wrestlemania took his momentum away. It always seemed forced and phony, and the crowd can sense that.

Bray Wyatt is a truly terrible promo. How he got a reputation on the mic is beyond me, the whole character is so fake and hokey. Can't even fast forward him like when you record Raw. Can't believe they are wasting what could be the last Undertaker match on him. Wonder if they give Wyatt the rub by having him go over.

This is awful. They should have just kept the Chamber. Lesnar defending against Cena, Rusev, Rollins, Ziggler and Sheamus/Ryback, would have been fun and they could have taken it an hour with the entrances and build. Pretty sure Lesnar would have agreed if he came out of the pod last and didn't have to do much. Add Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns, the Sting/HHH confrontation, this hokey Undertaker rubbish, the Divas match and we would have been spared what has been utterly heatless nothingness.

JBL is always referencing English sports. Dropped a 6 Nations reference in earlier. Expecting to hear him update us on how the run chase is going against Scotland down at the cricket world cup shortly.

Because it is literally the only dream match they have left short of literally putting the rotting corpse of the Undertaker back in the ring? Also, in a weird way, HHH is sort of like WWE's Sting. It isn't a 'dream match' at all, though. In all my years of following wrestling I have never heard a single person express a desire to see it. Not as if the in ring work is going to be any good, it will be mediocre at best, and the atmosphere isn't going to be anything to write home about. The only interesting thing will be whether HHH has the balls to troll everyone and win clean.

It was a cool visual. The production and camera work has been great tonight, made the Sting/HHH brawl seem really aggressive and exciting. The punches in that looked fantastic.
-
Because Triple-H is everyones dream opponent, of course.
-
Decent match, another terrible finish though. So lazy. Probably the most enjoyable thing so far on the show, which isn't saying much. The girls deserve more time.
-
The crowd for this show is dreadful.

Loved the Bellas trying to spray tan Paige. They should do more fun stuff like that to build feuds and less generic random heel beat downs and handicap matches and the usual boring repetitiveness. Looking forward to this. The pointing at the sign is well overdone this year.

When was the last time Sting has a great singles match? As far back as Vader in 1993? Can't remember much hype for any of his TNA stuff.
-
Sting has the worst haircut since Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series 2002. Makes him look so old and haggard.
-
Heath Ledger has a lot to answer for. Stardust is appalling, some of the worst acting you will ever see.
-
The opener was dismal, hardly any heat, nothing resting on the match, the face team have had no directions booking wise for months. And then Kane wins inexplicably. This Rhodes vs Rhodes match isn't doing anything for me either, doesn't feel like a big deal and whatever story they are trying to tell is falling flat, neither character is coming through, it seems self consciously quirky.

Free to air in the UK for Sky Sports subscribers, looking forward to it. Hopefully DB vs Reigns goes on last and they get some time.
