The Badasses Legends roundtable was very good. I enjoyed it more than the Monday Night Wars one because Michael Hayes wasn't as annoying in this. I never thought I would see a Brody match on WWE TV.

God damn enough with the Vest. Did you people not watch his attire throughout his career? He's never been a fashion plate. I liked him better last week.

Thoughts on the following wrestlers: THE RETURN (11/26/07)
Tim Evans replied to Bix's topic in Pro Wrestling
I don't think I've ever heard of Clive Myers and I haven't seen enough Fuyuki to comment. As for the other guys. Big Daddy V: He fits in good in ECW. I started watching wrestling when he ws getting his big push in 95 and wasn't that impressed with him. I remember him beating the crap out of Victoria when she was a Ho with the Godfather as Viscera. I also remember seeing him live with Dennis Knight in a handicap match vs Foley. That was awesome because I was about 16 at the time. I think he's better now that he was then but I'm sick of Kane/V. Barbarian: At the time he was in WCW with Meng, I thought he was ok. Then I saw some of his Powers of Pain/WCW 92 stuff and was blown away. He was a powerhouse back then. His match with Santana at Mania was one of my favorites of Mania matches. Tito Santana: I remember when I was younger and got some WWF comp tapes from the old WWF catalog seeing Tito vs Greg Valentine in a Lumberjack match. It was cool cause I never saw a match like that. I liked his stuff with Strike Force and the early IC title days. I've seen very little of his Mid-South stuff though. Kennedy: I was a fan of his until about June of this year. I noticed when he's not in there with guys that can carry him, He downright sucks. His mic work is ok but since Santino Heel came on board, he's been exposed. His promo tonight on HBK was decent but in the ring, He just is flat out boring. Should have never left Smackdown. AJ Styles: I think right now he's at the best he's ever been. Sure he had great matches in the X division but he was just so bland. Now that he's with Tomko and Christian, he's really shined. Reminds me of Brian Christopher but much better. -
WON awards front-runners for the first half of the year
Tim Evans replied to Bix's topic in Megathread archive
Haven't seen too much Ultimo Guerrero this year. I'll put it Cena/Matt Hardy/Jeff Hardy Agree here. Apaches/Billy Boy, MVP/Matt Hardy, Hero/Claudio and Kingston/Hallowicked I don't count Hell Brothers as a tag team so I agree with what I put here. MVP for sure. Scratch Edge and Put in Santino. People should watch more Kingston's Chikara interviews. They are outstanding. Same Nigel and Claudio I'll Add Eddie Kingston to the list. I don't know Meltzer's definition of a Brawler though. Add Aero Star and Quack. Same Take off James Storm and add Kingston. Same Same I might have to watch Cena/Umaga again. I'll add Kingston/Hero street fight from IWA Mid South. Would Santino Count? Vince by far. Same I'm with Bix and SLL in saying Tenay. Backlash. Same I'm a fan of the Chikara Special. WWE's handling of the Benoit deal for sure. I don't agree with a lot of what they are accused of but between the tribute show and the "making up" of the Fragile X thing, They fucked up. PWU's show is pretty bad. Same Same Ha this was when I was in my "women's wrestling sucks but WWE women's wrestling" mood. I"m picking PWU. Santino. Black Reign. Bret Hart's. Best Pro Wrestling DVD The Dusty Rhodes DVD. I like the Dusty one more than the Horseman one. -
WON awards front-runners for the first half of the year
Tim Evans replied to Bix's topic in Megathread archive
AAA has fallen a lot. They have way too many commercials and replays to fit 3 hours in. If TUF wins, The awards are fixed. -
Probably because of the Loophole. Wasn't Astin the one that gave him a prescription? As for number 3, They probably didn't want to catch the Signature crackdown.
-
He was having Marriage problems and they didn't trust him on live TV.
-
It was very well done. Much better than most of the stuff i've seen on the topic.

??? I doubt that the newspaper was a favorite among WWE's target demo with massive national circulations. I'm guessing WWE's Target Demo is 18-34 right? You really think someone is going to read that article and say "Well damn now that I know how they died, I"m so angry I won't watch.?" Isn't everything that's in that article already been covered on TV, Internet, and newspapers. As you said, Nothing new came out of it so people probably already made up there minds.
-
Well he is better than Masters but I think most people think, "well Masters is trying so he's better than Carlito who doesn't give a crap." And i'm convinced Snitsky has naked pictures of Vince or is really Stephanie's baby dad or something to still have a job.
-
You saying he has "passion for the business" Jingus? Have you seen his matches since the Flair feud? You can't "sit on your ass" in wwe but he sure is malling it in. I don't blame him but say what it really is.
-
How the hell can you forget c in classic? It's a good story but at the end of the day, no one will care except the marks and smarks that know what happened. I saw the guy that did the Article was on Dan Abrahams show tonight.

Suggestions for things to include in the future
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
I'd like to see some mid to late 80's Memphis. Memphis was one of my favorite terriotries and I haven't seen a lot. How about the epic Lawler/Mantell vs Dundee/Landell match? More Lucha can always help. People need more Pirata Morgan and Blue Panther in life. -
Between this post and reading the reaction at DVDVR, I feel like I'm reading a recap of Queer eye for the straight guy. Seriously who cares about the vest? I didn't mind the short hair. The only part about this whole deal I didn't like is they went too long with the countdown. He should have came back whenever they were in philly.
-
I think it was his face turn that started it. He was pretty good on Smackdown and I don't think they should have ever took him off the show. I remember he was with Maria when he came to Raw. He wasn't bad there either. Then they teamed him with Masters and he started to suck. After he turned on Masters, he just didn't have the passion and you could tell he wanted to leave.
-
Well isn't the story that the only reason he's in wrestling is because his dad made him? He's this generation's Mike Von Erich.
-
It will be interesting when ROH comes down here for the Pre Wrestlemania shows. I'm guessing the crowd will mostly be TNA/Smark crowd but I remember when I use to go to WWE shows at the Orlando Arena that the crowd was mostly families that loved the rock and would chant "Rocky" all night long. About the announcing debate: I grew up with Jim Ross calling matches. He's my favorite because he made me care about 100% more in the matches than a guy like Michael Cole or Tony Schivonie. I've watched a lot of Gorilla over the years Via Video tape and he was a whole different beast. Sure he wasn't the best at calling matches but he made you stay there with his commentary with The Brain or Jesse. Oh and Lance/Dave> Gordon/Buddy. Lance's selling of angles was just awesome. No knock on Gordon. I think he was better in Georgia than he was in Florida. I also liked Bob Caudle but i've only seen his NWA stuff.
-
Will this just involve WWE or will it involve other companies? I still see nothing coming out of this and the hearing will probably focus mostly on baseball.
-
The only people I would think that would dislike Gorilla is hardcore NWA anti WWF fans. And even then, They had to sit through Tony Schivonie. I agree, I don't know how anyone can dislike Gorilla.
-
CNN and other's don't care about some guy that's only been on TV a couple weeks. They want guys like HHH and Cena to fail so they can get the big guys. Of course if they only knew that he was Davey's son, it might have made some news.
-
I guess some of us don't remember the old DVDVR Sleaze Thread do we? There's no doubt Wrestling is sleazy and it's right up there with Porn.
-
What in wrestling equals to the Porn 2girls1cup?
-
So no talk about the CNN special last night? Of course it's nothing new with Vince and Cena making themselves look even worse than they already did if that's possible. I didn't watch it but that's what I get from reading the observer website.
-
What does a bunch of people having sex in private have to do with anything? They were taping for a movie in the ring that was used for the shows. When people leave porn, they either turn born again christian, becomes bigger drug addicts, get clean and lead successful lives or die. In reality, I guess it's kinda like wrestling now that I think of it. I don't think i've ever seen Ric Flair or Bret hart offer handjobs on the street. Of course I don't go to Bert Prentice shows so who knows?
-
John's got it right. We can all say that wrestling is the sleaziest thing ever till we are blue in the face but it will never reach the levels of Porn. The closest it got was with XPW. I forget who it was, I think it was Donavan Morgan that talked about going to the XPW offices on day and seeing some porn chick in the middle of the ring naked. Then he saw a bunch of dudes doing a gangbang with her and left and never cameback.
