Can’t believe no one has mentioned the SuperBrawl I match 5/19/91 Luger & Sting vs The Steiners. Great Babyface match and considered by many as one of the greatest WCW Tag matches of the 90’s.

Thank goodness this podcast is back. Will be listening tonight. Great timing as I’m reading the Brian Pillman book which coincides with these shows.

Another great show. BTW, If I’m not mistaken, both the Christmas and New Years nitro coming up are both pretaped. Looking forward to hearing your next two shows reviewing both Survivor Series and World War 3.

Glad to see you guys back doing the show. This, along with the classic WWF late 80’s show you do with Scott are my favorite shows on PTBN. The Horsemen in late 95 are great, especially with Flair feuding with Savage and Pillman causing havoc with the DOD and Orndorff. Benoit was a great addition and the Horsemen were never the same after Pillman leaves WCW in early 96.

You and Scott were hilarious commentating on Graham’s love of all the juiced up wrestlers. Graham was so god awful as a color commentator in 88. POP came in with a huge push and were super over. I think Fuji becoming their manager at Survivor Series killed their momentum

Just finished watching the 10/30/95 Nitro. Nitro was such a better show than Raw at the time. Raw really didn’t get real good until March 97 when Bret turned heel and was the beginning of the opening 20 minute plus promo that is still in place today. Back in the fall of 95, even with a Hogan who no longer was over, WCW blew away the WWF in both television and PPV quality. And I absolutely love the horsemen of Flair, Arn, Pillman and Benoit. Great coverage of this PPV. Heenan was on fire and was probably the best he ever was on commentary while at WCW. The Flair turn on Sting was priceless.

Just rewatched Halloween Havoc 95. Before his match with Zodiac, Savage hugged and kissed a very sexy lady. Do you think this was the girlfriend of the guy who ran into the ring and tried to attack Savage? Security was quick to get that guy out of there and the woman wasn’t seen on camera again for the rest of the card. Also, Heenan was hilarious this entire card. Him making fun of Okerlund singing at a Greek cafe while eating lamb chops had me roaring in laughter. And the entire time he was berating WCW production staff cause they couldn’t update him on what happened to The Giant after he fell off the roof was priceless. Easily vintage Brain on this PPV

Looking forward to your podcast recalling the 6/25/88 MSG card. I attended that card and the Savage-DiBiase cage match was one of the five greatest matches I ever saw at MSG. Quick question: starting in May of 1989, MSG shuts down every summer for a few years for renovations. The MSG network would show cards from the meadowlands and Nassau coliseum in place of the Garden. Will you be doing podcasts on those shows as well?

Great show as always. Question I’ve always wanted to ask you. Is Ricky Jackson your screen name because you’re a huge fan of the greatest defensive player in New Orleans Saints history or maybe a combination of Ricky Henderson and Reggie Jackson?

Love this show. You and Chad are like when Bobby Eaton after the Midnight Express teamed up with Arn Anderson after he was a member of the Brain Busters. Just a great team. BTW, nitro in 95 and 96 blew Raw away. It wasnt until 97 that Raw became a better show than Nitro

While 1995 was a bad year for the WWF both creatively and at the box office, they had enough talent to succeed if booked correctly. Bam Bam was over huge after the LT match and then turned on by the Million Dollar Corporations, but his momentum was stymied. Sid turning on Shawn was a great angle, but his push was also stymied. Bret Hart had incredible matches with Lafitte and Hakushi and Diesel, and Shawn had great matches with everyone, but there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the booking. Diesel was over when he destroyed Backlund to win the title, but they made him this smiling, nice guy instead of the cool badass he was. They did absolutely nothing with Lex, and Hakushi and Lafitte were not utilized correctly as well. The talent was there. The booking was atrocious. And Shane Douglas was someone they didn’t need to bring in. He was a complete waste.

While the Garden was only half full that night, I’m not sure if there was crowd sweetening. I was there and the crowd went apeshit throughout the entire Duggan-Bass match. The crowd chanted ho throughout the entire match and Duggan was the most over act on the card. Like I said earlier, the crowd exiting the Garden chanted ho in unison. Best match Bass had in his entire WWF run. They should have had Duggan go over. Bass was going nowhere

I attended this card. This is where I believe the burial of Bigelow began. Also, my brother and I were shocked to see Bundy with hair. It would be his final match for several years. When leaving the garden that night, almost the entire crowd was walking out screaming Hooooo!!!!! I mean Duggan was over big time. It was a fun card and your podcast brought back memories of that evening

Great show. Sort of a hybrid of WHERE THE BIG BOYS PLAY AND VINTAGE VAULT.

don’t understand how three people left hogan off their ballots and six people left Bruno off their ballots. Savage at number one was shocking to me.
