  7. We have to remember that bar 1 or 2 these are all rookies and won't make a major impact in any territory. As much as there are some useful names in there, a 16 year old Shawn Michaels isn't going to set the world a light...
  8. Personally I'm against upping the roster size for another 6-12 months, how many guys to people actually need? 36 to me is enough, also if the roster sizes become too big there won't be enough for new writers to choose from if they start up a new promotion..

  10. Southeastern Championship Wrestling Catch Up Just important notes from these weeks. 29th October 1983 - Television The Studd Stable celebrate not only Jimmy Golden winning the Television title but also Robert Fuller winning the National Heavyweight Title this past Monday in Alabama. Both men go onto say they will be exercising their right to the “28 Day Rule”, Charlie Platt ask’s what that is, Robert goes on to say that they will only be defending the title when they have to and it will be after 28 days. Robert Fuller’s know both Buzz Sawyer and Tommy Rich want a shot at his National Heavyweight Championship and Jimmy says that he knows Johnny Rich is working his way up the card to get a match and Charlie Cook will be wanting a rematch also. The Studd Stable say they are putting a bounty on both Rich and Sawyers heads, and they already have a trio of takers. Both Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer cut separate promo’s stating their intent to win the National Heavyweight Champion. Buzz Sawyer says he welcomes any bounty on his head and looks forward to the fight that is coming, while “Wildfire” says he’s so focused on winning the National Heavyweight that nothing will stand in his way. Ricky Gibson and Tim Horner come out and thank all the fans for their support and their kind words, but it goes to prove all good things unfortunately come to an end. But both men vow to find a new partners and continue in the tag division fighting their way to the Tag Team Titles. At this point the Heavenly Bodies with Jim Cornette and Big Bubba Lynch come to the ring and also thank Gibson and Horner, for handing them their titles, and this Monday they will defeat The Fabulous Ones and add the National Tag Teams titles to them persons. Gibson and Horner promise the Bodies that they will be back, just not as a team, to haunt them. We get promos from Brad and Scott Armstrong saying their father is ready for The Flame this Monday and they are ready to stop any outside interference from Fire and Torch. While later on in the show The Flame, Fire and Torch together cut a promo saying they are going put out “Bullet” out of action once and for all and The Flame will be the new Southeastern Heavyweight Champion. In the main event this week, Tommy Rich goes up against Fire, only for the Fabulous Freebirds, Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts, to storm the ring and attack Rich, it becomes very clear very quickly that the Freebirds are here to collect the bounty placed on Rich’s head from The Studd Stable. They beat down Rich, while The Studd Stable stand and watch from ringside until the locker room empties to break up the attack. 31st October 1983 – Birmingham, AL “Bullet” Bob Armstrong returns and retains his Southeastern Heavyweight Championship against The Flame in a hard hitting brawl that went 18 minutes, Brad and Scott detained Fire and Torch on the outside allowing their father to score the victory in the main event. The Heavenly Bodies defeat The Fabulous Ones for the National Tag Team titles to become double champions, when Big Bubba Lynch held down Stan Lanes feet as Bobby covered him for the 3 count. Buzz Sawyer defeats Ron Fuller, after the match Buzz Sawyer is jumped by the Fabulous Freebirds, while the fan chant for Tommy Rich to come out and save him, but he doesn’t. Tommy Rich defeats Buddy Roberts, only for the Freebirds to attack Rich and try and claim the bounty placed on his head. Note, Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden weren’t in attendance due to being in Texas. 5th November 1983 – Television The Armstrong’s come out and celebrate “Bullet” Bob retaining the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship against The Flame. Bob Armstrong says he would like to throw his name in the hat to face off with Robert Fuller to try and win the National Heavyweight Title. Brad and Scott say they have a number one contender’s bout this evening against Bobby Jaggers and Johnny Mantell, The Shadow Riders, where the winner will face off with the double tag team champions The Heavenly Bodies. Later in the show the Armstrong brothers defeat Jaggers and Mantell to become the number one contenders for the double tag titles. The Studd Stable are joined by the Fabulous Freebirds and hand them their cash for taking out Rich and Sawyer. They then offer another bounty if they can do the same again this week but they want to add “Bullet” Bob Armstrong to the list on the bounty, the Freebird agree. Later in the show, Gordon Solie informs the fans that this week in Birmingham we will see, Michael Hayes versus “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, Buzz Sawyer takes on Buddy Roberts and “Wildfire” Rich takes on Terry Gordy. The Freebirds are in action later in the show defeating Tim Horner, Johnny Rich and Charlie Cook. The Heavenly Bodies, Big Bubba Lynch and Jim Cornette come to the ring and celebrate being double champions, and they are ready for the Armstrong’s this Monday. The Heavenly Bodies defeat Josh Stroud and Gene Ligon. To end the show Buzz Sawyer cuts a promo stating that he doesn’t need help from Tommy Rich and wishes the fans would stop chanting his name, he spent far too long kicking the tar out of Rich to ever want his help. Tommy comes out and says he respects Sawyer but feels the same, he hates him for the 18 months he put him through, but respects him, although they have similar goals and should both just get on with them. At this point the Freebirds come out and attack Rich and Sawyer, “Bullet” Bob to comes out and evens the sides, only for the Studd Stable to come out and make it a 6-on-3 and both the Stable and Freebirds get the advantage and stand tall at the end of the show. 7th November 1983 – Birmingham, AL Buzz Sawyer defeats Buddy Roberts. Michael Hayes defeats Southeastern Heavyweight Champion “Bullet” Bob Armstrong when Buddy Roberts distracts “Bullet” and Hayes rolls him up for the win. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich defeats Terry Gordy via DQ when Hayes and Roberts storm the ring and jump Tommy Rich. The Heavenly Bodies defeat the Armstrong Brothers when Eaton pinned Scott Armstrong following an Alabama Jam. 12th November 1983 – Television The Studd Stable say they are quite enjoying taking care of business here and in Texas, they thank the Freebirds for they help, but they want the Freebirds to finish the job this Monday night. Robert says he will be defending the National Heavyweight Title next week on TV against a Rich, but he decides which one. Jimmy Golden says he is going to wait out a little long to defeat his title and he still has 14 days and he’s enjoying his reign. Brad and Scott challenge The Heavenly Bodies to a rematch this week in Birmingham and this time they are going to win the titles. The Heavenly Bodies come out laughing and say that they now have their sights set on the AWA World Tag Team titles that our held by The Road Warriors. The Armstrong say they isn’t any need as they are taking the titles. “Bullet” Bob calls out Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer and asks them to put there difference aside to settle the score with the Freebirds, but Sawyer and Rich refuse to tag one another. While the 3 of them argue with one another and the Freebirds storm the ring and attack Armstrong, Rich and Sawyer. All 6 man brawl to the back. Johnny Rich continues his march towards getting a rematch with Jimmy Golden by defeating Johnny Mantell. 14th November 1983 – Birmingham, AL The Heavenly Bodies defeat Brad and Scott Armstrong to retain their titles. Johnny Rich defeats Bobby Jaggers after the match Jimmy Golden attacks Johnny Rich with the Television title. In the main event “Bullet” Bob Armstrong stands across the ring from The Freebirds waiting to see if his partners will show up. The bell rings and The Freebirds attack “Bullet”, only for the lights to go out, they return and Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer are both standing in the ring and shake hands, the crowd goes wild and all 3 man attack the Freebirds. The trio of Sawyer, Rich and Armstrong defeat the Freebirds and send them packing. Clearly the bounty put on the heads of Bullet, Mad Dog and Wildifre back fires on the Studd Stable, it only united them. 19th November 1983 - Television The Studd Stable come out and say that they are refusing to pay the Freebirds as they didnt finish the job with Sawyer, Armstrong and Rich, and if a job is worth doing, its best to do it themselves. But as promised Robert Fuller says he will be defending his National Heavyweight Championship against a Rich today. Robert welcomes Randy Rich to the ring, a young skinny man who looks very similar to Tommy Rich, Robert welcomes Randy to Southeastern Championship Wrestling and asks if he’s ready for his National Title Match, Randy says he is, but he's defeated in a matter of moments. This brings out Stanley Blackburn who says he's had enough of Robert Fuller and his games, he says that he will be booking his matches going forward and if it’s one every 28 days thats fine, the first will be this Thursday in the Omni for Thanksgiving against "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer in a rematch that everyone has been waiting for, while Jimmy Golden will be defending his Television title next Saturday against the new number 1 contender, Johnny Rich, but before that Jimmy Golden will be going one on one with "Bullet" Bob Armstrong this Thursday and Ron Fuller hasn’t gone unnoticed as the ring leader of the group, he will be facing off with "Wildfire" Tommy Rich this Thursday at the Omni. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong comes to the announcer’s desk with his sons and he says that now they have settled the Freebird issue he’s moving onto the National Heavyweight Title and he will defeat Jimmy Golden this week in Atlanta and move onto Robert Fuller. And his sons have one more chance against the Heavenly Bodies for their double tag titles, and he knows they can do it. 24th November 1983 - Thanksgiving Night - The Omni - Atlanta, GA The Heavenly Bodies jump Brad and Scott Armstrong on route to the ring and take Scott out of the match, Brad goes 1-on-2 with the Bodies, 10 minutes into the match the returning Tim Horner comes to the aid of Brad Armstrong and before we know it, Brad and Tim manage to get the win and take both the titles much to the dismay of Jim Cornette, we have new National and Southeastern Tag Team Champions. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong defeats Jimmy Golden, following the match The Flame returns and beats down Armstrong. "Wildfire" Tommy Rich defeats Ron Fuller. Robert Fuller defeats Buzz Sawyer when The Assassins return to jump Buzz Sawyer on the outside behind the referees back and Fuller picks up the win. Other matches on this big card, The Nightmares defeat Charlie Cook and Ricky Gibson; Johnny Rich and Marty Jannetty defeat Bobby Jaggers and Johnny Mantell.
  11. Magic Dragon is a great fit for Forida looking at the roster that's down there now, Rhodes and the Von Erichs will have there work cut out for them...
  12. When did we draw that?
  13. I don't think it would need to be, just do it and get it out the way, is my thinking?
  14. Especially as most people just pass and we wait around for someone to pass?
  15. I think we need a dreaded vote, but putting it out there, is it just worth doing one draft for the whole year? Instead of just one every month?
  16. I know you guys are still completing the redraft, but we will need to do the January draft soon aswell...
  17. Jackson is an excellent choice. For extended squashes he's your man...
  18. Worth mentioning for the new guys that they can also choose from the Free Agent list aswell, some good talent to fill under cards in there also, including The Oates Brothers, Johnny Mantell etc...
  19. I don't know exact dates, but this is the "Rookie Draft" that Crazy Max did for 1984 a few years back. I've just cut and paste it.... - Baby Doll (Nickla Roberts) - Blue Demon Jr. (Lucha Star) - Brady Boone (Portland favorite, the future Battle Kat/Fire Cat) - Chris Champion (of New Breed Fame, AKA Yoshi Kwan) - Dan Spivey (Skyscraper, Japan star, Waylon Mercy) - Fred Ottman (Big Steel Man, Tugboat, Typhoon, Shockmaster) - Gary Nations (The Second Lord Humongous) - Jason Knight (Of ECW Fame) - Jim Powers (The Young Stallion) - John Nord (Nord the Barbarian, The Berzerker) - Keiichi Yamada (Jushin Liger) - Keiji Mutoh (The Great Muta) - Kendall Windham (Brother of Barry, son of BJ Mulligan) - Madusa Micelli (Top female Wrestler, Alundra) - Masahiro Chono (New Japan legend) - Nick Patrick (Future Referee) - Nikita Koloff (No selling monster) - Oly Olsen (Tod Olsen) - Paul Diamond (Kato, Maxx Moon) - Paul Roma (Young Stallion, Power & Glory, Pretty Wonderful, and dare I say is, a Horseman) - Pierroth, Jr. (Lucha star) - Ricky Vaughn (Future Lance Von Erich) - Robbie Brookside (UK favorite, teamed often with Regal) - Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) - Shawn Michaels (Name says it all) - Shinya Hashimoto (Japanese star) - Steve Doll (Member of the Southern Rockers, AKA Steve Dunn of Well Dunn) - Steve Lawler (The Brawler, patterns his look and style after Jerry the King, without the gimmick) - Steve Regal (Darren Matthews, a Real Man's Man) - Steve Simpson (South African native, made it big in Dallas) - Tom Zenk (The Zeeeeee Man!) - Woman (Manager, AKA Nancy Sullivan
  20. The Japanese guys need to be removed unless there is a change in rules? We don't draft then, they just come in on loan from Will...
  21. Johnny Mantell needs to be added to this list...
  22. This was my whole point about avoiding it, plus when I absorbed Georgia I got a lot talent and brought some big players in (Landell & Fabs). But the draft has been very good, just hope everyone have got enough guys to get over there new talent..
  23. After watching Verne for a few months, he can create stars out of nothing, he'll thrive on missing out on guys, I just hope the Latin Lovers don't get split up...
  24. I understand the new guys going on a lot longer, just got my eye on a few low card guys to fill out my empty spots...
