22nd January 1983 Portland Sports Arena, Portland OR Arena Matches before Live Broadcast Match #1: Marty Jones against Steve Gatorwolf with a ten minute limit. Marty Jones made a successful debut last week as he defeated Samu. Bringing a European style to Portland Wrestling and the fans are certainly enjoying the style change. A very fast paced match to start the evening and Jones has far too much class for Gatorwolf and he gets the win at 6:12 with a backslide for the 3 count. Match #2: The Portland sports arena is starting fill up in preparation for the live TV taping. The next match sees Rip Oliver against Buck Zumhoffe . This starts off a very competitive match with Buck getting in some near falls. Oliver isn’t taking to the fast pace attack of Zumhoffe and slows him down with some stiff kicks and fists to the mid section, Oliver hits a short armed clothes line then hits a Piledriver and get s the win at 7:38. Match #3: A rematch from last week’s pre show, as The Nightmares take on Doug Vines and Jeff Sword . Vines and Sword will be looking revenge after last week’s defeat. The match starts very open with Vines and Sword having the early advantage. They’re looking a lot more like a team this week. The Nightmares look like after last week’s win they have built in confidents. The match is really starting to flow when from the back Brett Wayne and Buzz Sawyer storm the ring and attack both teams and kick them out of the ring. The Sawyers look hot, and I bet they’ve only one thing on their minds. The Sawyers are standing in the ring just waiting. The credits roll and we are on the air....... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As we start the program we go straight to the ring as Brett Wayne and Buzz Sawyer are standing in the centre of the ring. “Samoans get out here now” screams Buzz. “This has to end tonight, Sawyers versus Samoans, what do you guys think?” The crowds pop to the thought of seeing these two teams go at it. The tension has been building for weeks and weeks. The Sawyers have come here to fight but the Samoans are nowhere to be seen. The Sawyers realise the Samoans aren’t going to make their way to the ring so there leave the ring and go to the back to look for the Samoans one would assume who we believe aren’t in the building tonight. We go up to the crow’s nest to be welcomed to this week’s television show. Don Coss and Dutch Savage are your hosts and run down this evening show, with the main event being Buddy Rose against Matt Borne, also Billy Jack Haynes will be in action and much much more. Savage and Coss recap last week’s closing moments in the Battle Royal ... So it’s been announced that in two weeks the PNW Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as “Rowdy” Roddy Piper will defend his title against the new number one contender “The Rock” Don Muraco. That one is going to be a knock down drag out affair. But we must give special mention to Matt Borne, who showed so much guts and passion in the royal last week. Also on tonight’s show will announce the second half of the brackets for the Frank Bonnema Memorial Cup next week. Let’s go to the ring for our opening contest. Match #1: See the rookie Barry Darsow who made his impressive debut last week on television, he faces the young wrestler Art Crews. Much like last week Darsow doesn’t hang around and streams rolls though his opponent. He tosses Crews about like a rag doll, showing no concern for the wellbeing of his opponent. After several stiff cloths lines Darsow picks up Crews and hits a deadly Back Breaker and covers Crews for the win at 4:12. Match #2: Sees Billy Jack Haynes facing Steve Gatorwolf.Haynes took quite a beating in the royal last week but he seems back on form this week. Haynes is in control for nearly the entire match, and gets the win with the Full Nelson at 5:34. After the match Haynes makes his way to the crow’s nest and has an interview with Don Coss and Dutch Savage. He states his intend to deal with Buddy Rose sooner rather than later. He talks about how he waited and waited to get his hands on Rose and finally last week he had his chance and Muraco and Boyd got in his way. But now he’s sending out an challenge to Buddy Rose to face him in a Portland Street Fight, come as you are style. Let’s see how tough you are when there’s no rules. A commercial runs for the Frank Bonnema Memorial Six Man Cup next week... Announced so far are.... Bracket A The PNW Tag Team Champions The Islanders and The Masked Superstar against the team of The Nightmares and The PNW Television Champion Gama Singh Wild Samoans and Samu against the Sheepherders and Jonathon Boyd And now we can announce Bracket B. Brackett B Buzz and Brett Wayne Sawyer and Matt Borne against the team of NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race, Don Muraco and “Playboy”Buddy Rose Harley Race comes back to Portland Wrestling for the first time in a long time, and he’s not alone as he teams with the number one contender for the PNW Heavyweight Champion Don Muraco and “Playboy” Buddy Rose. That star studded team meet 3 men that are really on fire at the moment in Portland as of late in “Mad Dog” Buzz and Brett Wayne Sawyer and the man that pushed Muraco to the limit in the battle royal Matt Borne. Andre the Giant, Billy Jack Haynes and returning Portland Northwest Heavyweight Champion ”Rowdy” Roddy Piper against the team Rip Oliver and the Super Destroyers. The Super Destroyers have been making quite an impact since coming to Portland especially when it comes to the Guerreros. When you put them with Rip Oliver who has been destroying people himself, this team are true destroyers. But opposed to them are the 8th Wonder of the World Andre the Giant and he is teaming with Billy Jack Haynes and Pacific Northwest Wrestling Heavyweight champion “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, a team of true talent. Followed by House Advents for this week... Portland Wrestling In Your Town Tour Monday 24th January Armory in Newport, OR Buck Zumhoffe Vs Samu The Super Destroyers Vs the Nightmares Don Muraco Vs Troy Martin Buddy Rose Vs Art Crews Rip Oliver Vs Billy Jack Haynes Matt Borne Vs Gama Singh Jonathon Boyd Vs Steve Gatorwolf The Islanders and The Sawyers Vs the Wild Samoans and The Sheepherders Match #3: We back from the break with The Masked Superstar against Troy Martin. Superstar continuing his rich reign in form finishes of Martin in less than 4 minutes when he hits his Swinging Neck Breaker for the win. Much like last week Great Mephisto is out to offer The Masked Superstar a position in his stable. Once again Superstar refuses Mephisto offer to become PNW Television Champion Gama Singh body guard. Mephisto is not so pushy this week after being pushed from Superstar last week. Superstar goes to leave the ring and Gama Singh has crawled out from under the ring and attacks Superstar as his back is turned and beats him with the Television title belt. After several blows to the back, the Masked Superstar is down on all fours. Singh has got into the ring and he and Great Mephisto laughing at what they have just done. Superstar is struggling to get and he has crawl into the ring and Gama Singh attacks him again. Superstar is trying to make it to his feet as both Mephisto and Singh take shots at him. Before Superstar can get to his feet to fight off this attack, Singh and Mephisto head to the hills to retreat. Match #4: Sees the PNW Tag Team Champions The Islanders Sivi Afi and King Tonga against The Guerreros brothers Mando and Hector in a non title contest. The match starts very slowly as these fan favourites feel each other out. King Tonga and Hector are performing some nice chain wrestling but neither team is getting an advantage in this non title match. From the back the Sheepherders have come out to watch the match from ringside. The Sheepherders have been having some problems with the champs as of late in the Islanders. This must be no more than a distraction ploy from the Sheepherders. On the other side of the arena Percy Pringle and the Super Destroyers have come out also. We don’t need to tell you fan’s at home the problems between the Super Ds and the Guerreros. The match is starting to flow a lot more after about 10 minutes of action with teams starting to wear, when the Sheepherders and Destroyers have seen enough of the action and both teams run towards the ring and attack the two teams in the ring. Now a 4 team brawl has broken out in the Portland Sport Arena with the Ds, Islanders, The Guerreros and Sheepherders, security and wrestlers from the changing rooms have come out to break up the 4 team brawl. The television program goes to a commercial break while the ring arena is cleared of the wrestlers. Match #5: The main event of the evening sees Matt Borne against “Playboy” Buddy Rose . I wonder if we will hear from Rose in reference to Billy Jack’s challenge. Matt Borne is coming of his star making performance last week in the royal. This is a very competitive TV match where the advantage is going back and forth between the two men. Borne is looking to build on his momentum coming from last week. He has got the fans behind him. After about 10 minutes of action Borne has taken control and is taking this bout to the Rose and the “Playboy” is all over the place. Borne looks like he is going in for the finish. Borne Irish whips Rose into the corner and follows him and hits a clothes line. Rose stumbles out of the corners knocks into the referee who stumbles into the ropes, Borne grabs Rose, but Rose kick Borne in the never regions and Borne falls back. The referee missed that and Rose rolls up Borne and has both his legs on the ropes for leverage for the 3 count and the win at 13:59. Rose celebrates like he’s won the World title. Borne is appealing to the referee then turns his attention to Rose, but Rose is out of there fast. Looks like he won’t be answering Hayne’s challenge. We are back the advert break with the number one contender to the PNW Heavyweight Championship Don Muraco in the ring with a microphone. He is looking very confident and cocky. He finally has after weeks and weeks of making statements, got what he wants a one on one match with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in 2 weeks. “After weeks and weeks of trying to get my voice and actions heard, finally I have my title match. Finally I have Piper one on one. It took weeks of me dressing like Santa Claus, kicking midgets dressed as Piper, beating on the young stars. You Don Owen have ignored me; you refuse to acknowledge my actions. You Don Coss, you Dutch Savage refuse to call me the real heavyweight champion, you refuse to show my domination on telly. And look what happens. People get hurt. Well now no one can ignore me, because last week on television I won a gruelling battle royal to become the number one contender. And now announcers, people in the office and you the fans can’t ignore me. And in two weeks, Piper you won’t be able to ignore me, as ill be taking your title from you and Ill will relieve you of your duties. But Roddy we don’t have to wrestle, you can just do everyone a favour and hand me the title instead, it’ll be easier for all involved. Piper you time is up, time to go back to Scotland, the era of the “Rock” is upon us, I’ll be the fans champion, and I’ll be a fighting champion.” At this point young a member of staff from the building runs to the ring and goes to whisper something in Muraco ear. Muraco stops him and says he knows what he’s going to say. Muraco tells the youngster that “We are all friends here and you can share this news with the crowd”. Barr gingerly talks into the microphone, “Roddy Piper has just walked into the arena” The crowd go mental at this news. But susprisely Muraco doesn’t. “Okay bring him out here, I’m going to be a fighting champion. Go on young man go back and get him to come out here”. The young member of staff runs off to the back. The some commotion in the entrance way to the arena, the fans are going wild at the prospect of Roddy Piper. And out walks Little Piper, the same midget from two weeks ago. The crowd are livid. Muraco is laughing in the ring. “You stupid fans, you think Piper is that stupid he would come here and fight me when he’s not 100%. Ah ha ha. Come on little fella get in the ring.” The midget wrestler dressed like Piper again. Don Coss and Dutch Savage are livid much likes the fans. Coss angrily shout “Cut the camera, finish the show 5 minutes early rather than have this embarrassment in the ring again.” Muraco and Little are joking about in the ring “You idiotic fans, you’d fall for anything. Me and Little P have been friends for years; he’d happily take a kick or two in the face for me”. The ring announcer gets in the house mic and thanks the fans for coming to see Portland Wrestling live and to have a safe journey home. While in the Crows nest Don Coss is wrapping up the show, still mad at the scenes in the ring again. “I tell you fans something, it’s going to be a cold day in hell when Piper does return”. While we leave with the picture of Muraco and Little Piper in the ring laughing and joking as the fans start to file out. “WAITTTTTT” screams Don Coss. There’s some movement coming from the changing rooms’ entrance. “Don’t go yet, stay on the air” The fans are going wild, Coss confused because he can’t see what’s happening. The fans have erupted. There seems to be a parting in the departing fans. Coss is shouting into the headset “get a camera down there”. Something is happening.” The crowd part and its........ Its......... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “ROWDY” RODDY PIPER, he is here. Piper has returned and he is slowing stalking to the ring in his street clothes, wrapping his fists with tape, with a look of tunnel vision as there’s only one thing in his mind and in his eyes. Muraco hasn’t noticed yet. The crowd are going nuts in the Portland Sports arena no one is leaving now. Don Coss is pleading to stay on the air. Little Piper sees him and gets out of the ring. Muraco is still unaware of Piper. Piper gets into the ring and Muraco starts to realise something is happening. He slowly turns around. And his face drops. Piper has come to fight. Time is up on the television show as it fades to black with Piper starring at Muraco and Muraco looking like he’s seen a ghost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Piper arms spread out and he raises them...... And explodes with rights and lefts, holding one ear with his left hand and jabbing with his right and swapping hands when needed. He isn’t stopping, Muraco is doesn’t know what’s happening, he wasn’t expecting this, and can’t defend the onslaught. Muraco falls to the mat and Piper is on top of him striking him, Muraco is trying to get his hands up to block but it isn’t working. Piper jumps up takes his top of and throws it at Muraco as he tries to get to his feet. Piper flies at him again with left and rights, he isn’t looking to wrestle Muraco but hurt Muraco, Muraco is bleeding from the beating. The locker room has emptied trying to split these to up. They have managed to pull Piper of Don Muraco. And get Muraco out of the ring. Piper has broken free and is standing on the middle rope and pointing at Muraco on the floor. The wrestlers surrounding Muraco have managed to get him back to the back. Piper is still hot in the ring....... 15th January 1983 Portland Sports Arena, Portland OR Arena Matches before Live Broadcast Match #1: The newcomer Buck Zumhoffe coming off his impressive debut last week, is faced against Art Crews . A fast paced opener with two of PNW young talent trying to impress the powers that be in Portland. Both men are exchanging move for move with each other, with Zumhoffe coming of the better after the opening exchanges. Zumhoffe comes from the ropes and hits a quick clothes line and carries on hits the other ropes, Crews bounces back up and Buck connects with another clothes line. Zumhoffe climbs to the top rope and comes off and hits a Flying Body Block and covers Art for the win at 5:12. Another win for the newcomer Buck Zumhoffe. Match #2: From the UK making his debut is Marty Jones against the young Samoan Samu . Marty Jones has held junior and middleweight titles all over Europe for the past couple of years, even holding victories over the current NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion the Dynamite Kid back in their home country. Marty Jones brings a different style to Portland Wrestling, using a lot of unique submission holds and he is tying Samu into knots. Jones fast pace offence is too much for Samu, after a couple of European Upper Cuts and a Irish Whipping Samu into the corner, Jones follows him in and hits a monkey flip and covers Samu at 7:59 for the victory in his debut match here in Portland. Live on KTPV from the Portland Sports Arena Don Coss and as always joined by Dutch Savage welcomes the fans to another hot week of wrestling action here in Portland. Tonight we have a huge main event; it’s an 17 man battle royal to determine the number one contender for the Pacific Northwest Wrestling Heavyweight Championship currently held by “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, the match will take place on 2nd of February. But that’s not all to look forward to, a week before that huge Heavyweight title match is the Frank Bonnema Memorial Six Man Tag Team Cup and we have two first round matches to announce later on in the show. At this time I would like to introduce the tag team of Brett Wayne and “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer. “Gentlemen you’ve had your problems as of late with Afa and Sika the Wild Samoans?” Buzz who is looking very serious “You sneak attacked my brother, you sneaked attacked me. But we got some measure of revenge when I hit you with my Running Power Slam and cost you your chance at the PNW Tag Team Titles, an eye for an eye. So now we have settled that with the Samoans we want to move on to something else, so as we weren’t entered into the Tag Title tournament a few weeks back, we would like to throw out a challenge to the Islanders to meet us on the 2nd February. We feel we are ready to take on the champions and take the titles.” Samu has walked into the crow’s nest and has started to bad mouth the Sawyers and tells them that although they think they are done with the Wild Samoans, this isn’t the case for the Samoans. Then from behind the Sawyers, Afa and Sika attack the Sawyers and beat them down in the Crows nests using everything they can get their hands on to use. It’s a 3 on 2 brawl, Don Coss and Dutch Savage have got out of harm’s way as this attack continues. The Samoans attack continues and the pair have pulled some television cameras leads and wrapped them around the Sawyers throats and they are choking them. The locker room has emptied and the Samoans have backed off. Clearly this feud hasn’t ended, and no doubt the Sawyers will want revenge. Match #1: First television match of the evening sees the debut of Barry Darsow against local talent Troy Martin . Darsow is around 6 foot 2 and close to 300 pounds. Although Darsow is a rookie and new to the business, he sure does look the business and looks like he takes no rubbish from anyone. As the bell rings, Troy Martin is pulling at the ropes stretching when Darsow just runs him over with a deadly cloths line. He picks him up, holds onto his head and hits some stiff forearms followed by a side Suplex. Troy is out, Darsow grabs Martin and tosses him from one side of the ring to the other, while all the time he has a big smile on his face. He comes of the ropes with a huge elbow drop, goes for the pin but lifts Martins head after a 1 count, he picks up the limp Martin and hits a devastating Back Breaker, stretches Martin over his knee before dropping him to the mat. Darsow covers Martin for the 3 count at 3:14. What an impressive debut by the big man. Match #2: This match sees the Ken Wayne and Danny Davis, The Nightmares against the team if Doug Vines and Jeff Sword . Two teams that haven’t had the best time as of late in Portland, both teams have gone weeks without winning a match, so as both need this victory massively. The match starts at a fast pace with quick tags and competitive action as neither team wants to hang about; they both just want the victory. After about 7 minutes of solid action where neither team get the upper hand, Danny Davis surprises Jeff Sword with a quick roll and gets the 3 count at 7:23. The Nightmares first win in recent memory and the team of Sword and Vines still look for their win. They looked a lot better this week but couldn’t mount the attack that would win the match. Before we gets to our next match as promised, he are the first two matches announce for bracket A of the Frank Bonnema Memorial Six Man Tag Team Cup. The First match sees..... The PNW Tag Team Champions The Islanders and The Masked Superstar against the team of The Nightmares and The PNW Television Champion Gama Singh This match can see the Nightmares get back into tag title picture if they could grab the win here, which wouldn’t hurt they claim for a title match in the future. Television Champion Gama Singh’s manager Great Mephisto has been courting the services of the Masked Superstar for several weeks now, to no success it must be said. This has the makings of a great first round match. Wild Samoans and Samu against the Sheepherders and Jonathon Boyd The Wild Samoans will be looking for some measure of revenge for the fact the Sheepherders got the Tag Title math a few weeks ago from them in the number 1 contender’s tournament final. Throw in Jonathon Boyd and Samu and we will have an explosive match that will be an all fight. An advent runs for this week’s house events...... Portland Wrestling In Your Town Tour Sunday 16th January Armory in Salem, OR The Super Destroyers versus The Nightmares Matt Borne versus Gama Singh with Great Mephisto in a non title match The Sheepherders versus the Sawyer Brothers Billy Jack Haynes versus Rip Oliver And much, much more... Portland Wrestling In Your Town Tour Monday 17th January Lane Country Fairgrounds in Eugene, OR Matt Borne versus Jonathon Boyd Buzz and Brett Wayne Sawyer versus The Nightmares Billy Jack Haynes versus Rip Oliver And much, much more...... Match #3: The last match before the huge Battle Royal. The Masked Superstar versus Steve Gatorwolf . The very talented and skill Superstar takes early control of this match and never loses it. The match is very quick and Superstar gets the victory with his awesome Swinging Neck Breaker for the win at 4:23. Gatorwolf was no more than a spectator, another impressive display from the Masked Superstar. After the match much like last week, The Great Mephisto comes to the ring and grabs the microphone. “I’m going to put last week down to your shyness, well that’s why you wear a mask isn’t it? Anyway I’m going to offer you my services again as your manager, I’ve seen a lot of you in the last couple of weeks to know your be the perfect fit for the body guard position I have, which main duties will be to look out for Gama Singh. All you will need to do is make sure Singh doesn’t lose his Television Championship”. Superstar is just standing and starring at Mephisto, he turns and goes to walk away, “Don’t you walk away from me again, who do you think you are, no one walks away from me, no one.” Mephisto grabs Superstars arm, “Don’t walk away from me” Superstar who has one leg outside the ropes, grabs hold of Mephisto and pushes him away and leaves the ring. “Your regret this Superstar, your regret this I promise you” screams Mephisto as Superstar high fives the fans on his way out of the arena. Now its time for the big main event, the Battle Royal for a PNW Heavyweight Championship Match. The Wrestlers involved are.... Don Muraco Super Destroyer #1 Super Destroyer #2 Matt Borne Billy Jack Haynes Rip Oliver Hector Guerrero Mando Guerrero Buddy Rose Gama Singh King Tonga Sivi Afi Luke Williams Butch Miller Jonathon Boyd Art Crews Buck Zumhoffe All 17 men start in the ring, and the Battle Royal begins, with all 18 men going for the one another, The Guerreros have gone straight to the Destroyers and all four men are brawling for the first time on an even pitch. Borne has his hands on Oliver and they are battling around the ring. Don Muraco is being very cagey and not getting too involved in the action. Billy Jack Haynes has gone straight for Buddy Rose but Rose’s loose alliance with Jonathon Boyd has stop Haynes getting his hands on Rose, again might I add, as Boyd is standing in between Haynes and Rose. Gama Singh like the coward champion he is has gone for the inexperienced Art Crews as his target but Buck Zumhoffe has taken offence to this and has give Crews a helping hand and has attacked Singh. The Sheepherders have only one team on their minds and that’s the PNW Tag Team Champions the Islanders, as these to teams brawl. The first couple of eliminations happen in quick succession, the Guerreros and the Super Destroyers are brawling with each other in the corner of the ring. Destroyer #1 chargers at Mando in the corner and Mando ducks and flips him over the top rope and onto the apron, when Destroyer #2 follows him into the corner, Mando ducks again and Destroyer #2 continues to charge right into the corner, into his partner and knocks him from the apron to the floor for the first elimination at 3:45. Mando and Hector high five and then double clothesline Destroyer #2 over the top rope at 4:02. So within 30 second of each other both the Ds have eliminated each other though they own miscommunication. The D’s are not amused on the floor. While on the other side of the ring Gama Singh has the advantage over Art Crews and Buck Zumhoffe when he scoops Crews over the top rope to the floor at 4:43 . Buck Zumhoffe has jumped on Singh back and is beating down on the Television Champion, Buck takes a couple of steps back and runs at Singh, but Singh drops to the mat holding the top rope and Zumhoffe flies straight over the top to the floor art 5:05. Singh is posing in the ring to the fans and Matt Borne grabs him by the head and tosses him to the outside on to the floor at 5:34 . Borne came out of nowhere for that elimination. Boyd has he work cut out for him as Rose is still using him as a shield until Boyd gains a tiniest of advantage and Rose closes in and starts his attack its now 2 on 1 and Haynes is taking a beating. Don Muraco is still staying out of the way until the Guerreros notice him and close in on him. Until form the outside of the ring The Super Destroyers have climbed back into the ring and attack the Guerreros and thrown both Guerreros from the ring at 6:02 , before they could get their hands on “The Rock”. The Guerreros and the Destroyers are brawling thought the crowd to the changing rooms with the referees trying to separate them. Muraco has joined in on the beat down of Billy Jack Haynes with Buddy Rose and Jonathon Boyd. Matt Borne and Rip Oliver have renewed their battle. So reminding are The Sheepherders, The Islanders, Don Muraco, Matt Borne, Rip Oliver, Jonathon Boyd, Buddy Rose, Billy Jack Haynes. The Herders and the Islanders continue to battle when Butch Miller is eliminated when King Tonga hits him with a thrust kick to knock him over the top rope at 8:56. Boyd has left Muraco and Rose, who will team in two weeks with NWA World Champion Harley Race, holding both of Billy Jack Haynes legs and trying to get him over the top rope. Boyd has gone to help his fellow country man Luke Williams who has all of his efforts tied up with the Islanders. Matt Borne has Rip Oliver across the top rope in the corner trying to get him over but Oliver rips at Borne’s eyes and relives the pressure of him being tossed out. We are now at the ten minute mark, as it stands Don Muraco and Buddy Rose are beating down on Billy Jack Haynes, Jonathon Boyd and Luke Williams are brawling with the Islanders, Rip Oliver and Matt Borne are tearing into each other. Boyd and Luke have got the upper hand and Williams is holds Tonga down in the corner with his foot on Tonga’s throat. Boyd and Williams concentrates their efforts on getting Sivi Afi out but Afi is putting up a fight and is getting the upper hand until Luke Williams drops to his knees and low blows Sivi Afi and Boyd tosses him over the top rope at 12:56. and they go straight back to King Tonga on the mat. Borne and Oliver are jockeying for position as they both are in dangerous position. Borne has both of Oliver’s legs in the air but Oliver won’t let go, Borne goes to dump Oliver over but Rip grabs hold of the ropes at the last seconds, he is hanging on tight, Borne takes a step back and launches a dropkick into the hanging Oliver and Rip drops to the floor at 15:25 Boyd sees his chance and runs at Borne but Borne is too clever for that as he dodges the charging Boyd and grabs his head and tosses him from the ring at 16:01 . Borne now goes to help Billy Jack Haynes who has his work cut out with both Buddy Rose and Don Muraco. Down to 6 and we are closing in on the 20 minute mark and the wrestlers are starting to look tired. King Tonga was just eliminated by a clothes line from Luke Williams , from out of the blue at 18:23. Down to the final five and it’s turned into Luke Williams, Buddy Rose and Don Muraco on one side of the ring and the beaten down Billy Jack Haynes and Matt Borne, who has been on fire, on the other side. Luke Williams goes straight for Matt Borne while Rose and Muraco look to restart there attack on Haynes. But Haynes isn’t standing for it anymore and has found his second wind and is taking it to Muraco and Rose, he’s knocked Muraco to the mat and he backs off. Haynes is unleashing finally on Buddy Rose. Rose doesn’t know where to stand or go, Haynes scoops him up and goes to throw him over the top rope but Rose is holding onto the top rope. Muraco sneaks up behind the two and lifts Haynes by the legs and tips him over the top rope to the floor and Haynes is eliminated at the 22:12 mark .Rose rolls back into the ring under the bottom rope. While on the other side of the ring Matt Borne has dumped Luke Williams over the top rope at 22:20. And so there were three, Rose, Muraco and Borne. Rose and Muraco have worked well together all night and it looks like it will continue. Rose and Muraco are circling Borne. Matt Borne has nothing to lose so he flies at Rose and lumps him with a couple of rights and lefts, turns around stomps Muraco in the gut. Maybe Borne can do it, he’s fighting off both men, he hit’s a Belly To Belly Suplex on Muraco. Borne gets up to his feet and has Rose in the corner and he is pounding on him, Muraco comes behind him with a double axe handle, but Borne ducks and “The Rock” hits Rose. Borne grabs Muraco and hits a German Suplex, the crowd are going wild. He hits a running splash on Rose in the corner and “Playboy” stumbles out andBorne has him by the hair and tosses him out to the floor at 25:57. We are down to the final two. The crowd are on their feet, could Matt Borne be the one to win this battle royal? The crowd are fully behind Borne as he lay’s in the boot into Muraco in the corner. He picks up Muraco and hits a Belly To Back Suplex followed by a big leg drop. He can’t win this match with Muraco on the mat. He picks up Muraco and Muraco pokes him in the eyes and then hits a knee lift. Both men fall to the mat, worn out from this 30 plus minute match. Don Muraco is first up and grabs Borne by his head and signals for a Piledriver, and hits it. The fans in the crowd are shocked, theirs silences in the Portland Sports Arena, how the tide has changed after that eye poke and knee lift. Muraco picks up Borne in a power slam position to dump him over the top rope, but Borne starts to wiggle out. He’s dropped behind Muraco, “The Rock” turns, and Borne hits a kick to the gut and grabs a front face lock and falls back to the ground driving Muraco’s head into the canvas. Both men lie back on the mat. Borne is getting up and grabs Dons head and rams it into the turnbuckle. Muraco is having trouble standing, Borne goes for a Belly To Back Suplex but Muraco blocks and side steps it and reverses it and hit the same move Borne was going for and Borne has flown over the top rope to the floor at 34:01 and your winner and number one contender for the PNW Heavyweight Championship is “The Rock” Don Muraco. Matt Borne is stunned as are the crowd. Matt Borne had a star making performance tonight in this battle royal. 8th January 1983 Portland Sports Arena, Portland OR Arena Matches before Live Broadcast Match #1: As the fans pile into the Portland Sports Arena for another hot night of action the opening bout of the evening sees Percival Pringle III Super Destroyers against the team of Ken Wayne and Danny Davis, The Nightmares . The Nightmares really need to start building momentum or they are going to fall behind the Pacific Northwest Wrestling Tag Team Title picture. The bout opens with Danny Davis and Destroyer #2 trading hold for hold, hold for counter hold. Maybe tonight will be the night the Nightmares turn their fortunes around and get a victory. As the match progresses the Destroyers take more and more control and the Nightmares are getting frustrated that they can’t get more of an offence in. Although the match started of evenly this has now turn the corner and the Destroyers are fully in control and get the win at 12:02 when Super Destroyer #1 hits a stiff lariat. The Destroyers next port of call must be the returning Guerreros. Match #2: Making his debut is junior heavyweight wrestler Buck Zumhoffe against youngster Troy Martin . A very quick match, as Zumhoffe looked very smooth and in control in there with the very inexperienced Troy Martin. Zumhofe who looks very impressive finishes of Martin in a matter of minutes with a Flying Splash from the tope rope in just over 3 minutes. Zumhoffe show the fans a lot of ariel moves which no doubt the fans will enjoy seeing week in week out. Match #3: The Wild Samoans defeat the team of Art Crews and Steve Gatorwolf , when Sika hit a huge Samoan Drop on Gatorwolf after about 4 minutes of one sided action. The Samoans are hot after their lost last week on television in the final of the number contender’s tournament for a shot at the Islanders. And there be looking for more than just revenge against the Sawyers. But like what they always say, what goes around comes around. Live on KTPV from the Portland Sports Arena We start the show with Dutch Savage and Don Coss welcoming the fans to the TV show and also reminding them of the huge Frank Bonnema Memorial Cup in 3 weeks time, and for those who can’t make it matches will be shown on the January 29th television show, but the only way to see the whole show will be to be there in person. The two announcers start recapping last week’s action, mainly the final of the Tag Team number one contender’s tournament, clips are shown of the final moments. They explain the reason for Buzz Sawyer getting involved was because of the attacks on each of the Sawyer brothers on the pre show matches over the past two weeks from the Wild Samoans’ when their young charge Samu was in action. Unfortunately for the fans at home we don’t start filming until the television program goes live so there is no footage of this, this is another reason why fans should try and make it to the events, because everything can happen. Tonight we have the a huge 2 out of 3 falls Pacific Northwest Wrestling Tag Team title match, pitting the number one contenders the Sheepherders against the reigning and defending champions the Islanders in our main event. Also we have the debut of the Masked Superstar and the return of the Guerreros brothers who have a couple of things to get off their chest. The Wild Samoans’ are also in action, at this point “The Rock” Don Muraco strolls into the crow’s nest. “Don and Dutch, where is your champion? Have you seen him? I have and I know he’s here tonight, and he will be defending his heavyweight title against me tonight.” The crow react loudly to this news. “That’s right the fans of Portland Wrestling tonight in the Portland Sports Arena and live on television, I will finally meet Rowdy Dowdy Piper. And why wait for later to meet lets kick off the show with the match. I can’t wait any longer to become Portland’s hero and champion”. Match #1: Don Muraco makes his way to the ring, and tell the ring announcer to introduce him and then to introduce Piper.Coss and Savage comment on how they fell this doesnt feel real to them. The ring announcer introduces Muraco and “now making his return to the ring, coming from Glasgow Scotland Rowdy Roddy Piper, the crowd are electric waiting on Piper; everyone is looking around trying to find him. There’s some movement in the crowd..... From the back comes a midget wrestler in a kilt. He makes his way into the ring, Muraco is laughing. The announcer is bemused by what’s happening. Muraco is screaming at the announcer to announce the match as a PNW Heavyweight Title match. The announcer who is now being held by the arm by Muraco announces the match is for one fall and for the PNW Heavyweight title bout. Muraco screams at the time keeper to ring the bell, the fans are irate, they wanted to see Piper and they wanted Muraco to get what’s he has coming to him. The time keeper refuse to ring the bell and several referee come to the ring to stop this madness. The referees all stand in front of Muraco who holds his hands up and goes to walk out of the ring before anyone gets hurt, just at that point Muraco lumps Little Roddy with a stiff kick. Muraco makes his way back to the crow’s nest. While Little Piper is being seen to in the ring, the crowd are furious. Muraco in the crow’s nest gloating about what he’s just down saying he’s the real champion and Piper didn’t quite make the mark. Just at that point Don Coss is handed a piece of paper, “Your be very interested in this Don, next week there be a battle royal, and the winner of that will meet the Rowdy Roddy Piper on the 5th of February here live on KTPV”. Don Muraco replies back “Well that can’t happen because Roddy won’t have defended the title within the 30 day period, so crown me the champion”. Don Coss replies “Well its funny you should say that because this letter, which is from PNW President Don Owen states that because of the extreme nature of Pipers injuries he has been given an extended period of 45 days”. Muraco snaps back, “You can’t do that” Don Coss replies “I guess as the president he can and has. Big battle royal next week live on television, where the winner has a chance of becoming Pacific Northwest Champion when they will meet Rowdy Roddy Piper on the 5th”. Muraco storms away from the crow’s nest irate. Match #2: Second match of the evenings sees the Brother duo of ’Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer and Brett Wayne Sawyer against the team of Jeff Sword and Doug Vines .It’s very clear the Sawyers only have one team on their mine and that’s the Wild Samoans’. They steam roll though this team much like the Wild Samoans’ did earlier. These teams are on a collision course and it’s not going to look pretty. The Sawyer were in control for most of the match, with Vines and Sword getting very little offence in on the “Mad Dogs” of Portland wrestling. Buzz hits a running Power Slam on Vines for the win at 7:14. After the match the Sawyers make their way to the crow’s nest to much fan fare and tell Don Coss and Dutch Savage that they want the Samoans’ and no one else. Match #3: Rip Oliver and “Playboy” Buddy Rose against the team of Matt Borne and Billy Jack Haynes . This match comes about because of the problems these four men have had with each other over the past couple of weeks. Billy Jack Haynes has his back tapped up after the attack from the so called injured Buddy Rose last week on TV when he hit Haynes with his crutch, and we are still waiting for Rose to come though on his promise of meeting Haynes. The other two men in this one is Matt Borne problems with the way Rip Oliver has been treating the younger talent in PNW, and also Oliver cost Borne the TV title last week. This could be the night Haynes finally gets his hands on Rose. The match starts with Borne and Rose, but Rose is pointing at Haynes suggesting that he wants him in the ring and not Borne, Borne tags out and almost at the same time Rose does the same. What a coward. But Oliver is fine to stay in there and fight, he loves to fight. As the match progresses though the early stages, only Oliver is in the ring fighting against the popular team of Borne and Haynes, but Oliver is starting to lose control and Roses reluctances to tag in when Haynes is in the ring is unbelievable, its putting a lot of pressure on the Rip, who is doing all the fighting. Finally Rose get into the ring and is fighting with Borne when he racks his eyes, Haynes is hot and tries to get into the ring when referee Sandy Barr stops him, at this point Buddy Rose hits a low blow on Borne and the advantage is fully on the side of Oliver and Rose. Rose has isolated Borne in the corner and the double teaming has started and there’s no way out for Borne and more importantly there no way in for Haynes. Rip and Buddy are switching it about, tagging in and out and taking shots at Borne. Borne has taken a hell of a beating and looking like hell never make the tag, Haynes has had enough of this and is in the ring and has gone wild on Oliver. Sandy Barr is trying to get him out of the ring, Rose has pulled Borne from the ring and he is now laying into him on the floor, finally Barr gets Haynes out of the ring and starts a ten count for Borne who’s still on the floor, Haynes has rushed around the ring to help Borne but it’s too late and the referee has counted the ten and your winners via count out “Playboy” Buddy Rose and Rip Oliver at 12:27. Rose and Oliver flee the ring though the crowd instantly as Haynes sees to Borne. Match #4: Making his debut to much fan fare is the World Travelled Masked Superstar against the Young Samoan Samu . Don Coss and Dutch Savage talk about all the title Superstar has won across all the states of America and worldwide, they are hyping the fact he just came of a long run as champion in the Mid-South area. They talk about how he is after titles and winning and that’s all. They also put over how he has caught the attention of Great Mephisto who would very much like the services of Masked Superstar. The match in hand is very straight forward, both men try and get a feel for each other, Superstar natural talent takes the early advantage and after about 4 minutes it looks all over for Samu as Superstar hits a Swinging Neck breaker for the painful at 5:06. A very convincing debut by The Masked Superstar, The Great Mephisto walks into the ring from the back clapping his hands. He gets into the ring and gets a microphone and congratulates him on his debut win and offers his service as Superstars manager. The Superstar just walks out the ring and strolls back to the changing rooms slapping hands with the adoring fans. Mephisto doesn’t look too amused. A commercial is shown for the Frank Bonnema Memorial Six Man Tag Team Cup on the 29th of January featuring a one night 6-man tag team tournament. Featuring the following teams... PNW Tag Team Champions the Islanders and the Masked Superstar PNW Heavyweight Champion “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Billy Jack Haynes and Andre the Giant “The Rock” Don Muraco, “Playboy” Buddy Rose and NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race Rip Oliver and the Super Destroyers The Sheepherders and Jonathon Boyd PNW TV Champion Gama Singh and the Nightmares Buzz and Brett Wayne, the Sawyers and Matt Borne Wild Samoans’ and Samu Match #5: The Main event of the evening is a 2 out of 3 fall match for the Pacific Northwest Wrestling Tag Team Titles. The defending champions areKing Tonga and Sivi Afi, The Islanders against the number one contenders Luke Williams and Butch Miller, The Sheepherders . Fall #1: Just as the bell rings to start this match the Sheepherder steam towards the Islanders and attack them. The Islanders didn’t know what hit them and Luke and Butch have picked up Sivi Afi and throw him to the outside and they grab hold of Tonga and ram him into the turnbuckle and pick him up and hit a double gut buster and Butch covers the stunned and now winded Islander and get a 3 count for the first fall at 1:12. Fall #2: The Sheepherders are not hanging about, both men have dropped to the outside and grab hold of Sivi Afi and pick him up and drop him on the guard rail. Luke Williams rolls back into the ring and starts an onslaught on the hurt Tonga. While Butch is putting a beating on Afi on the outside. Tonga is starting to make a comeback, after Williams head butts King Tonga, rather than hurt him it woke him up and now he is fighting back with chops and kicks and Williams is reeling. Tonga is now in control of the action in the ring and is fighting back harder and harder and the advantage has shifted to the Islanders. While this is happening Afi has battled Miller back into his corner. The Sheepherders are stunned, they are on the back foot now and Tonga tags in Sivi Afi. Afi is laying into Williams who tags in the fresher Butch Miller, but Afi is on fire and continues his assault. Luke Williams panics and runs into the ring and King Tonga cuts him off with a huge chop to the chest of Williams. Sivi Afi has climbed to the top and hits a Flying Cross Body Block on Miller and get the fall at 10:56, to level the match at one a piece. Fall #3: Now the match is level and both teams are starting to show the sights of tiredness after this hard hitting battle. But both teams are still slugging it out. The battle has fallen to the floor and all four men are battling on the floor and around the ring, referee Sandy Barr is giving a little more leeway as its for the titles. The wrestling has gone out of the window, as these four men are now brawling, it’s like a good old fashioned street fight. After several minutes on the outside all four men are back in the ring and Sivi Afi has gone to the top rope, he must be looking for the Flying Cross Body Block but from out of nowhere Butch Miller flies across the ring and knocks Sivi Afi of the top rope. It’s now two on one in favour of the Sheepherders, they grab hold of Tonga hit another Gut Buster like earlier and then a Battering Ram, this must be the end, Williams covers the champion, 1......2.....no Tonga kicks out. The Sheepherders are mad, they hit another double Gut Buster followed by one more double Gut Buster, it’s over now, Williams covers 1......2.......Afi comes of the top rope to break up the fall. Where did Afi get the strength to come back from being knocked to the outside. Afi is hot and is clearing house. King Tonga is trying to get to his feet using the ropes to help him, when Butch Miller runs at him and Tonga finds the strength to flip Miller over the top rope to the floor, Sivi Afi hits a Inverted Atomic Drop on Williams who stumbles back into a Tonga Death Grip by King Tonga. Butch Miller is back up on the apron but Afi hits a huge dropkick and Miller is back onto the floor. Williams finally submits to the Death Grip and your winners at 21:01 and still PNW Tag Team Champions Sivi Afi and King Tonga the Islanders. What a match to end the show and the Islanders retain the titles. They came from one fall down to win this contest and prove they are the best team in Portland.

1st January 1983 Portland Sports Arena, Portland OR Arena Matches before Live Broadcast The evenings actions starts with Rip Oliver defeating Steve Gatorwolf in a very quick match around 3 minutes long. Gatorwolf got very little offence in on the more experienced Rip Oliver. Oliver is on a roll as of late and finishes this match off with a Piledriver. Oliver who had a confrontation with Matt Borne last week on television will be happy that he’s facing Gatorwolf and not Borne. Borne took offence to Oliver beating down on Art Crews after their match last week. Maybe somewhere down the road Borne and Oliver will get it on. Next up is Brett Wayne Sawyer against the young Samoan Samu . This match comes about because on last week’s pre show, Brett’s brother “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer defeated Samu and he was attacked after the match by Afa and Sika, the Wild Samoans’. Brett Wayne Sawyer made the save and fought off the 3 Samoans’. This one is a very even bout, a back and forth match, where neither man is gaining a huge advance. But Sawyer experience is too much for the young Samoan, and Sawyer gets the win at 7:23 with a Side Slam and a pin fall. After the bout the Wild Samoans’ run out to the ring and attack Sawyer much like scenes from last week. Sawyer is taking a hell of a beating from the 3 Samoans’, until Buzz Sawyers runs to the ring and Afa, Sika and Samu are on their heels. Buzz Sawyer checks on his brother to make sure he is ok. Buzz who felt a similar attack last week, helps he’s brother to the back. The final match before the television show, the Pacific Northwest Tag Team Champions King Tonga and Sivi Afi The Islanders against the team ofKen Wayne and Danny Davis, The Nightmares . This is a non title match, as the champions the Islanders are signed to face the winners of the Wild Samoans’ – Sheepherders match later tonight. This is a very equal match; the Nightmares are putting in a good showing which could help them gain a title match later on. Nightmares are getting in some good offence on the champions, and one or two near falls but the champions come though when King Tonga lays on the Tonga Death Grip on Wayne and the finally Ken Wayne gives up and the Islander get the win at 12:59. The Islander now move onto the winners of the number 1 contenders tournament and the Nightmares will have to rebuild their status in Portland.. Live on KTPV from the Portland Sports Arena Clips are shown of last week’s brutal attacks on the debuting Guerreros and PNW Champion Roddy Piper. We go to the crow’s nest where Don Coss is with Dutch Savage. They welcome the fans to another week of wrestling action. They describe last weeks attacks as one of the most violent they’ve seen in Portland for many years. They inform the fans that neither Piper, Mando nor Hector are at the Portland Sports Arena this evening as they are resting up. Although there will be an in ring interview with the Guerreros next week, its unknown when heavyweight Champion Roddy Piper will return. Which makes us wonder if Piper cannot make a defence within 30 days he may be stripped of the title all together? That’s not a pretty image for Roddy Piper and the PNW fans. Anyway fans I’m sure Piper will be back soon. Back to tonight’s action, we have the Super Destroyers debuting, we have “The Rock“ Don Muraco in action and hopefully will be able to get an interview with him about his actions last week. Plus the final of the number one contenders tournament, where the Sheepherders will face the Wild Samoans’ in our TV main event. Match #1: Making there in ring debut here in Portland are the team being lead by Percy Pringle III, The Super Destroyers against the team of Jeff Sword and Doug Vines . The Super Ds certainly look like a team who know what they are doing g in the ring. They have split the ring in half and are isolating Vines in the one corner. Pringle looks very pleased with his new charges. Sword and Vines are mounting very little offence and the Super Ds get the victory in less than 5 minutes when Super Destroyer #1 hits a huge Power slam for the 3 count. After the bell the Ds and Pringle walk into the crow’s nest and tell Don Coss and Dutch Savage that after just one week in the promotion they have taken out one team in the form of Hector and Mando Guerrero. Pringle goes on to tell everyone in the Portland Sports arena that, it was his plan all along to get the Guerreros into a position for his Destroyers to attack. He finishes off by saying that now they have rid of the Guerreros that next on his agenda are the Islanders and there titles. Another promotional video for the soon to be debuting Masked Superstar airs. This week the video shows him weigh training and sparing with some local talent. He once again makes his point clear that he is coming to Portland to win titles and take names later. He doesn’t need help from others and soon he will be the Superstar of Portland Wrestling and can’t wait to get started..... Match #2: The second match of the evening is for the TV title and will feature the Television Champion Gama Singh, with the Great Mephisto in his corner against the up and coming Matt Borne . Matt Borne who has had his problems with Rip Oliver in the past couple of weeks needs to put that behind him and concrete on the task at hand and that’s the Television title. Singh who has kept hold of the title for some time now, knows how to defend it by using his “Champions Advantage” and also using outside interferences from his manager Great Mephisto. Borne has started out hot in this one, he not hanging around knowing its only a 10 minute time limit. Borne is Irish whipping Singh from one corner to the other and hitting lariats as Singh rebounds out of the corner. Borne hits a quick scoop slam and Singh rolls out of the ring. Mephisto is checking on his man, who is using the ten count to his advantage. But Borne isn’t going to allow him to do this so he chases Singh back into the ring but as Borne rolls in, Singh stomps him and lays in the boot to the challenger. The Champion now has the advantage and is taking full control. Singh has got Borne in a sleeper hold and this one looks almost over, but from somewhere Borne has found some fighting spirit and is trying to fight out of the hold, he manages to get the hold turned into a side headlock and Borne is laying in the elbow to Singh who is trying his hardest to hold on but Borne has broken the hold and hits the ropes and lands a flying shoulder block. Borne is back in control and the title could be switching here. The ring announcer announces that there 60 seconds left. From the back Rip Oliver has made his way to the ring and is up on the apron pointing at Borne, Borne goes over and starts to argue with Oliver. Then all of a sudden Gama Singh grabs Borne's tights and rolls him up and gets the 3 count, to the surprise of Borne. Singh gets up and start to celebrate as if he’s earned this win. While Matt Borne leaves the ring and chases Oliver out of sight. Oliver and Borne have now got business to finish and Gama Singh must thank his lucky stars he still has his title because Borne had his number. Match #3: “The Rock” Don Muraco against Art Crews . Muraco back in his standard attire not the festive attire he had on last week, where he’s brutally attacked PNW Heavyweight Champion Roddy Piper which lead to Piper spending two nights in hospital and its unknown when he’ll be back in action. Muraco is looking very confident and cocky, and is in full control of this match. He is tossing Crews from one side of the ring to the other. Showing of his pure strength he holds Crews in a Gorilla Press for a good 10 seconds. He finishes Art off in just over 6 minutes of punishment with a deadly Piledriver. This bout was never in any doubt and Muraco prove why he’s a top contender for Pipers title. After the match “The Rock” walks up to the crow’s nest and has an interview with Don Coss and Dutch Savage. “What happened last week has been building up in me for months and months. I will stop at nothing to get that belt. If that means attack after attack on you Piper until you give me a title match but until then that’s what will happen, I will go to any lengths, if I have to dress up as the Easter bunny and beat you around the ring like I did as Jolly St. Nick last week I will. I will be making examples of people until you meet me in the ring one on one with the title on the line. Your time is up Roddy, time to go back to Scotland and the Age of The Rock begins”. Match #4: Due to Billy Jack Haynes beating Jonathon Boyd last week, Haynes gets a match against the self proclaimed “Best in Portland” Buddy Rose. Billy Jack makes his way to the ring to great fan fare; he’s in the ring waiting for Buddy Rose. Then all of a sudden Rose walks to the ring on crutches with Boyd helping him. Boyd helps Rose into the ring, Rose takes the microphone and says “Last Tuesday I was helping some kids in a local Portland high school, because I’m a local hero you see, with some wrestling classes and I pull my calf muscle in a freak twist. I managed to finish the session in great pain, as I couldn’t let all the Rose fans down. So I continued in great pain. After I went to my doctor and he told me I couldn’t compete this weekend. Now the last thing I want to do is let the fans down of the Portland area by not competing but I’m going to have too. I’m sorry for you the fans but Billy Jack Haynes you won’t get off so easy; my man Jonathon Boyd’s wants revenge on last week and hes going to get it. But Haynes I will be back and I will meet you one on one because I hold on to my promises.” The crowd boos loudly at this, Haynes goes for Rose but Boyd cuts him off. Looks like we are on for Billy Jack Haynes against Jonathon Boyd again this week. The attack by Boyd has given him the early advantage as Buddy Rose on crutches leaves the ring but stays on the outside 'to watch this one. Boyd is working over Haynes back, hitting several power slams, back breakers and also holding on to Haynes trunks pushing him away and pulling him back in and landing a forearm to Haynes lower back. Buddy Rose loves this display from Boyd. But Haynes is starting to fight back and mount a comeback, using lefts and rights; Haynes hits a big Suplex on Boyd and hurts his back at the same time. But he is up again and fighting, he runs the ropes looking to finish off Boyd but............... Rose clubs him with one of the crutches and the referee call for the bell at 10:56 and DQ’d Boyd. There was nothing wrong with Rose at all, Rose is in the ring and is attacking Haynes. But Haynes is starting to get his second wind and is trying to fight back, and Rose and Boyd retreat to the back. Haynes will get his revenge and the fans will love it. A commercial is shown for the Frank Bonnema Memorial Six Man Tag Team Cup on the 29th of January featuring a one night 6-man tag team tournament. Match #5: This is the main event of the evening, and it’s for a Pacific Northwest Tag Team Title match against the champions the Islanders. The Sheepherders of Butch Miller and Luke Williams beat the Nightmares and The Wild Samoans of Afa and Sika defeats the Guerreros with the help of Percival Pringle last week to earn this match. This match is not going to be a mat classic that’s for sure; this is going to be a brawl. As the bell rings to start the contest both teams charge at each other and start battling, trading heavy hitting blows. Afa and Miller are fighting on the outside of the ring while Luke and Sika are in the ring. Neither team are crowd favourites but the fans love the two teams taking each other apart. This one is brutal, Butch Miller is biting at Afa head on the outside, while Sika is hitting head butt after head butt on Williams in the ring. The Referee Sandy Barr has managed to get this match back solely in the ring. It’s been a lot harder task for Sandy Barr trying to maintain order with two teams trying to break the rules. We have about 5 minutes of standard back and forth tag team action when all hell breaks loose again and both teams are brawling, Afa and Williams are brawling on the outside and Barr is trying to get the two men back in the ring when from the back Buzz Sawyer runs to the ring and hits Sika with a running power slam and pulls Butch Miller on to Sika and Barr see the cover rushes back into the ring and makes the 3 count for the Sheepherders to win the match at 15:34 and a chance at the PNW Tag Team Titles next week on television. The Samoans’ are mad, the Sheepherders don’t know what happened or how they won, but they don’t care they got what they wanted. Buzz is standing in the crow’s nest laughing as we go off the air for this week.

After the bout “Mad Dog”” is celebrating in the ring and Samu roll’s out and then from out of nowhere the Wild Samoans storm the ring and attack Sawyer. Sika hits a huge Samoan Drop on Sawyer and both Samoans hit a double Head butt. And Start to stomp a mud hole in Sawyer along with Samu, until.........................From the back it’s Brett Wayne Sawyer to make the save. Brett cleans house. The Samoans retreat to the changing rooms while Brett helps his brother to his feet and carries him to the back... Live on KTPV from the Portland Sports Arena A pre recorded message is show before we go to the live broadcast. Don Owen is standing in the world famous crow’s nest in an empty Portland Sports Arena. “Ladies and gentlemen, before we start, here at Pacific Northwest Wrestling we want to send out our deepest condolences’ to the Bonnema family. For those of you that don’t know, Frank was the host of Portland wrestling for over 18 years and on the 15th of October Frank died of a sudden heart attack. And out respect to Frank, Portland Wrestling hasn’t been on television for the last two months. It didn’t feel right for the program to go on without the voice of Portland Wrestling, but with much discussion the Bonnema family, we have decided the time is right to go on”. “Frank Bonnema has always been a staple of Portland and to carry on with that, I’m announcing that on the 29th of January there will be a Frank Bonnema 6 Man Tag Team Memorial Cup in the honour of his life and work here at Pacific Northwest Wrestling. All revenue from this event will go to Bonnema family as a thank you from PNW and the NWA for a man who served this promotion so well for so long. In that tournament you are going to be seeing NWA World Champion Harley Race teaming with “Playboy” Buddy Rose and Don Muraco, Andre the Giant will be teaming with Portland favourites Roddy Piper and Billy Jack Haynes, The Sheepherders with Jonathon Boyd and the Wild Samoans’ and Samu and more teams to be announced. More on the tournament in the next couple of weeks. Once again we like to pass on our condolences’, but as Frank would say, the show must go on. Now to your new host Don Coss joined by Dutch Savage. ” Don Coss welcomes the fans to a very special Christmas day edition of Portland Wrestling. Don is joined by Dutch Savage. Coss says a big thank you to the fans for all of the cards and messages for Frank Bonnema and although they are filling in for Frank they can’t replace him, he was a true legend of Portland Wrestling history. He was the best. Dutch Savage adds “the king is dead, long live the king”. We go to some words from Portland Wrestling’s sponsors. We are back and Don Coss discusses how excited they are to be entering 1983 and some new faces are coming to the Oregon area. One in particular is very exciting, and that’s the soon arrival of the world travelled Masked Superstar. We will have more on him later as we have a nice video package of him. But also making their debut in the area are The Famous Guerreros Brothers Hector and Mando. Mando and Hector walk into picture up on the crow’s nest. Don and Dutch welcome them to Portland and both agree that they are very excited to be competing in the Number 1 Contenders Tournament for the Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship currently held by the Islander Sivi Afi and King Tonga. The Guerreros talk about how great it is to be in Portland and how they are thrill to have the opportunity to get a Tag Team Title match so quick into their tenure. We have a lot of respect for the Islanders they’ve done a lot over the past couple of months. The famous Guerrero family name will soon become part of Portland wrestling history. We start tonight with the number 1 contender’s tournament. Don Coss says that will be great to see the Guerreros against the Islanders for the Pacific Tag Team Titles, but the Guerreros have 3 other teams they have to contend with before they reach the champs, the Islanders. They include the former champs the Sheepherders, the young team of the Nightmares and the team you the Guerreros will be facing tonight in Afi and Sika the Wild Samoans’. Don Coss finishes off by wishing the Guerreros good luck in the tournament. Just as the Guerreros go to leave the Crows Nest, Percival Pringle III walks into the crow’s nest and welcomes the Guerreros to Portland and offers his services as they manager. The Guerreros say they have seen the way in which Pringle handles his business and they are not interested in what he has to offer and they don’t want to see Pringle anywhere near their business. Percival is offended by what the Guerreros say and stats that this could be the worst decision of their short time in Portland. Hector replies by saying that, that’s something we will have to live with, but we would never associate with the likes of Pringle. Percival Pringle storms out of the crow’s nest, mumbling no one refuses my services. Match #1: Opening bout of the evening sees the Sheepherders of Luke Williams and Butch Miller against the Nightmares consisting of Danny Davis and Ken Wayne . This bout is a semi final match in the Number 1 Contenders Tournament for the Pacific Northwest Tag Team Titles. The Sheepherders are former champion and they look very much in control of this one. The Sheepherders are making sure this match doesn’t turn into a wrestling contest but is staying as a brawl. The less experienced team of the Nightmare are building some offence in this match but just when they build some momentum the Sheepherders cut them off. The Sheepherders get the win after a Double Gut Buster on Ken Wayne and Butch Miller gets the 3 count at 10:27. The Sheepherders advance to the final of the Number 1 Contenders tournament in 2 weeks. Don Coss is joined now by “Playboy” Buddy Rose, he cuts an interview where he rants that he is the best wrestler in Portland and nobody can beat him and he has nothing to prove. That he can beat anyone put in his way. Coss points out that “although “Playboy” might be one of the best in Pacific Northwest, he isn’t the champion; Roddy Piper is, so he would clearly be the best as he has the heavyweight title”. Rose interrupts and goes on to say that “Piper is only keeping the belt warm until he is ready to take the title again. And that day could be anytime now. So Roddy Piper needs to be on guard. Anyway back to tonight, to prove to you Don and everyone else he's the best he will put out an open challenge to anyone who wants to prove they are better than me”. At this point there is some movement in the crowd as someone is making their way to the ring. Don Coss highlights to Buddy Rose that someone is just getting into the ring, Rose who’s back is to the ring, is laughing off Coss comments. Rose is still ranting about being the absolute best Portland has to offer. The man in the ring grabs the ring announces microphone and says “Buddy, wanna come and play?” With a shocked look on his face, like he has just seen a ghost, Buddy Rose slowly turns around to see...... The man with Oregon on his trunks Billy Jack Haynes, “You may claim to be the best in Portland, but I’m the best Oregon has to offer so ill take you up on your open challenge. I’m going to give these fans an extra Christmas present, by kicking your butt all over the Portland Sports Arena”. The crowd are going crazy for Billy Jack Haynes, “Come on Rose, come and Play Boy” The crowd are going wild, they want to see these two meet. Rose says that although this was an open challenge to prove who was better than him, I don’t think you’re even in the “Playboys” league, so maybe Haynes if you can beat my chosen opponent for you tonight then maybe you’ll work your way up the ladder to face me. Because you see I’m at the top of the ladder and maybe one day I’ll see you there, so tonight Billy Jack you face Jonathon Boyd”. The crowd boo loudly for the cowardly actions of Rose. Haynes says that if that’s what he needs to do to get to Rose he will. Match #2: Billy Jack Hynes versus Jonathon Boyd , Boyd looks like he may of bit of more than he can chew with Haynes. After a few minutes of cautious offence by both men, Haynes expodes and goes on an immense attack, rights and lefts to the body of Boyd. A hard Irish whip to the corner and Boyd bouncing out and is caught by a clothesline from Haynes. Haynes picks him up and shows his strength by lifting Boyd for a huge Suplex and then lifts him for a gorilla press but Boyd claws Haynes eyes. Boyd starts to work over Haynes legs, Boyd has Billy Jack in the corner and he is stomping away at him. Boyd runs at Haynes and hits a clothline in the corner, he goes for the same again but Haynes grabs his head and hits it against the turnbuckle pad and locks in the Full Nelson as Boyd stumbles back, Boyd submits almost instantly. The match ends at 12:19, Haynes gets the win on christmas day. Next up for him is “Playboy” Buddy Rose. Match #3: ”Crippler” Rip Oliver defeats Art Crews in under 3 minutes when he hits a deadly Piledriver. Oliver was in control for the entire match and Crew barely got a look in, in short he was beaten around the ring and the Crippler finished off the youngster quickly. After the match, Oliver continues his assault on Crews by rubbing his face into the mat and hitting another Piledriver. Until out of nowhere Matt Bourne rushes the ring and fights off Oliver. The two are fighting in the ring and Borne gets the upper hand and Oliver retreats. VTR of the world travelled Masked Superstar is shown, he says he is happy to be coming to Portland. He said he isn’t coming to make up the numbers but to win titles and make history. There are clips shown of some of his recent training sessions. He says he is a no nonsense type of person and soon the fans of Portland see that the era of the Superstar starts soon. Great Mephisto comes to the crow’s nest and says that he wants the Masked Superstars services; he thinks that the Masked Superstar would work well against his Television Champion Gama Singh. Match #4: Sees the debut of The Guerreros Hector and Mando against the Wild Samoans’ of Sika and Afi in the semi finals of the number 1 contender’s tournament for the PNW Tag Team Titles. This match has a mix of styles. The Samoans are trying to brutalise the Guerreros, but the quickness of Hector and Mando is gaining them the advantage at this point, until the Samoans’ corner Hector and give him a real beat down in the corner. Mando is trying to get in but the referee keeps getting in his way and sending him back to the outside. Finally Hector rolls out of the corner and makes the hot tag and Mando. Mando is in and is clearing house. Mando is on fire hitting drop kicks and flying forearms. This bout looks like it’s going the way of the Guerreros, until Percival Pringle III comes out and distracts Hector who is recovering from his onslaught on the floor; he starts to argue with Pringle and tells him to get lost. The referee gets Hector back on the apron as this happens, Mando runs the ropes and Pringle trips him and Afi hits a Samoan Drop for the win and his team advance to the finals of the number 1 contender’s tournament for the PNW Tag Team Titles in 15 minutes of action. The Guerreros chase Pringle though the crowd into the crow’s nest where the Guerreros are met by..... The Super Destroyers are laying in wait and attack the already beaten Guerreros; they beat the snot out of the Guerreros in crow’s nest. The crowd are shocked. The Super Ds clearly being lead by Pringle as Pringle is egging on his Destroyers and they are proving their name. . The Ds tear apart the Guerreros with this vicious attack. The Ds and Pringle walk away smiling and laughing while the Guerreros lay motionless on the floor of the crow’s nest. Match #5: Main Event of the evening, it’s a special Champion vs. Champion 2 out of 3 falls match pitting the Pacific Northwest Heavyweight ChampionRowdy Roddy Piper against the Pacific Northwest Television Champion Gama Singh with Great Mephisto. Neither title is on the line. The heavyweight champion gets a hell of a response as he comes to the ring. The ring announcer is introducing both wrestlers when Gama Singh charges at Piper and clocks him with an unexpected forearm smash. Singh caught Piper of guard and has an early advantage in this match, Mephisto is very happy with his man, if Singh can put in a good performance he may be in line for a future title match. Back to the action, the Television champion is still in control; he knocks Piper out of the ring and pulls Sandy Barr to one side as Mephisto gets a sly kick to the gut of Piper on the floor. But it has the opposite effect as it wakes Piper up. Piper grabs hold of the Great Mephisto but Gama Singh is out and lumps Piper from behind and grabs hold of his head and rams it into the apron. He rolls Piper into the ring and starts to work over the neck. He hits a nice neck breaker and follows that up with an elbow drop to the back of the head. Singh sits on Pipers back and wretches his head back and Piper is in agony. Gama gets up and hits a leg drop to the back of the neck. Gama is refusing to go for the pin; he stomps on the injured neck. Gama Singh looking very proud and confident of his performance so far, is raising his arms towards the crowd. Piper rolls towards Singh and grabs his tights and rolls him up for a surprise 3 count for the first fall of this contest at 10:09. Gama is irate and goes mental and attacks Piper and really starts to lay into him. Piper is slowing making he’s way to his feet, Singh shots are taking less and less effect on Piper. Piper is now standing up right and looking at Singh, who is shocked, that piper is back up. Gama keeps hitting Piper but Roddy just takes the hit and looks right back at his opponent. Singh’s punches are just not working. Piper explodes and is hitting lefts and rights on the Television champion. Piper momentum is amazing, Singh doesn’t know what to. The Great Mephisto gets up on the ring apron, but Piper smashes him with a right, Singh charges Piper, but Piper side steps him and locks in a sleeper hold. After about 20 seconds Sandy Barr lifts Singh’s hand and it drops three times and Piper is declared the winner at 18:12. After the match, Piper is celebrating in the ring, when Santa Claus joins him from the changing rooms and he has a sack full of Christmas presents that he is tossing into the crowd much to the delight of the young children. Don Coss comments on how Piper and Father Christmas are just giving back to the fans for supporting Portland Wrestling. Santa Claus grabs the champion hand and raises it. The crowd bursts with excitement at this scene. Piper still holding his neck from the beat down earlier. When Santa out of the blue hits him with a clothes line. What the hell is happening Coss screams, Santa pulls his beard down and rips his hat of and it’s................. DON MURACO!!!!!!!!!!!!! He picks Piper up and hits a devastating Piledriver to the already injured neck of Roddy. The Crowd are going wild; they have steamed the ring and are right up close to the apron. “The Rock” picks Piper up again and hits another Piledriver. As the show goes off the air, we are left with the image of Don Muraco dressed as Santa Claus in the centre of the ring standing over “Rowdy” Roddy Piper..... After the show, the arena security manage to get Don Muraco out of the ring and back to the changing rooms, away from the baying mobs. Faces like Matt Borne and the Islanders are in the ring to check on Piper. Piper is stretchered from the ring in a neck brace straight to a local A and E....

But i smell some turns coming and all might not be well in the Texas Dynasty after that lost for DVE... And for everyone who hasnt ever seen DVE as a heel, there is a 1 Disc comp of his stuff from Florida...
