[1994-06-18-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express and Tammy Fytch
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Tammy not looking too smart here falling for this one after what happened the previous week. She just loves surprises and presents. Rock N’Roll now have someone in their corner to keep an eye on Tammy. -
PG-13 as faces feels strange to me. Eliminators show up and attack them. I thought that was Mike Awesome that came to the rescue.

[1994-06-18-WWF-Superstars] WWF Hall of Fame ceremony footage
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Hall of Fame ceremony is just a couple minute recap on SuperStars. Vince seems to be more of an on screen presence at this. Regis Philbin is a presenter. Nice to see some of these guys altogether at that time. Gorilla seems emotional about his induction. -
[1994-06-18-RINGS] Mitsuya Nagai vs Mikhail Ilioukhine
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
I had no clue what was going on here. I thought there was a legitimate injury stoppage at first and the post match punch seems pretty rude. -
[1994-06-16-WWF-King of the Ring] Owen Hart vs Razor Ramon
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Pettingill completely ignores Donavan is out there at this point. This moment is great with Owen following up his brother Bret by winning the King of the Ring. Too bad they weren’t able to deliver a high quality match in the finals. Anvil shows up and takes out Razor. Hart Attack! So Neidhart’s real purpose was to keep the title on Bret as he is firmly in Owen's corner now.- 10 replies

[1994-06-16-WWF-King of the Ring] Owen Hart vs 1-2-3 Kid
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
This match blew me away at the time of how good it was in such a short amount of time. Kid is still hurting from his Jarrett match and with the lights still down gets blasted in the face with a dropkick. These guys are on fast forward. No rest holds to be seen. Owen catches The Kid in mid air when he is doing a jumping wheel kick and German suplexes him. Still cool today. Squashes him with a powerbomb a bit later. If you’re going to have a short match, this is how you do it. -
[1994-06-16-WWF-King of the Ring] Bret Hart vs Diesel
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Bret struggles through his pre match promo. Where is Finkel? Bill Dunn is handling the ring announcing and clearly mentions how much each guy weights. Neidhart in Bret's corner. This was the first PPV I ever watched live. I really liked this match at the time and probably haven't seen it in about 10 years. Bret immediately targets the legs of Diesel and gets him down. He gets on a figure four but Diesel's height helps him to get to the ropes. Shawn makes an impact getting involved on the outside and running away from Neidhart. Michaels is beyond cocky here. Diesel does his over the shoulder backbreaker which I never liked because he basically has Bret up in the position for the Jacknife. Shawn takes the biggest bump in the match flying off the ropes on to the railing outside. Sharpshooter attempt but again Diesel can make ropes because of his reach. Diesel eventually hits the Jacknife but Anvil interrupts. So a big what if there whether Diesel would have won. Anvil then bails and leaves Bret to be double teamed. Bret does a really good job of making Diesel a credible threat going forward. -
So this is for the title? Choshu took the loss in the previous six man tag. It's a good match as they do make fine opponents for one another. They slug it out and throw a lot at each other. I wasn't expecting the finish to come off an elbow drop but I was okay with it.

TAKA does a fake dive to the outside and Ohtani is none too impressed and drop kicks him in the back of the head. Always loved that move. Sasuke does a crazy dive to the outside where he lands on a ringside table and part of the guard rail. Dives overall were great. Good match but seemed to end just as was really starting to get going.

I didn't see it as them trying to make Public Enemy as cool as Coolio nor are they. I see it as them picking whatever the current songs are and using the music videos. But I guess that could be seen as trying to be hip with the times. They are probably trying to fill time on their TV show and with 4 minute music video it is just easier to split up half of it with actual footage of the music video. That said, the clips of Funk alone did not fit with this song.

[1994-06-11-WCW-Saturday Night] Hulk Hogan parade and press conference
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Just wow. Hokey parade. Hogan sure seemed wired in his promo. They are really trying to get this over as being the greatest day in wrestling. I wasn't much of a WCW fan but from watching this set, I definitely have a new opinion on WCW in 1994. Some of the better stuff this year has happened in WCW. But you can already feel things starting to change.- 10 replies

Decent enough music video of Sting. His promo was a bit bland though.

[1994-06-04-WCW-Saturday Night] Ray Traylor and the Guardian Angels
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Making a difference. Fatu could have teamed up with Traylor. We see the Guardian Angels making some citizens arrests and roughing people up.- 5 replies

[1994-06-04-SMW-TV] Interview: Jake Roberts / Interview: Dirty White Boy
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Jake with some really harsh stuff about the Dirty White Girl that well definitely rile up the Dirty White Boy. Jake is very sinister and continues to take no responsibility for his actions. Roberts still has his hair at this point. Dirty White Boy showing some real insecurity for not being able to originally protect his wife. But he's ready to take Jake out now. -
Bob admits to bodyslamming his kids at two years old. Oh, the good ole days of smacking around your kids.

[1994-06-11-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher vs Dream Machine
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1994
Are the good guys winning any matches in USWA at this point? I understand feuds can be booked a certain way but the heels seem to be heavily dominating the top rivalries. I'm wondering why Bowden is in a wheel chair but he gets a fire ball to the face and runs off. So at least his legs appear to be fine. -
Albright tries to keep this on the mat where he can use his weight advantage of Takada. Standing up Albright seems to have not much of an answer for Takada's kicks and gets knocked down a few times. Felt like Takada pretty much kicked his ass in the last couple minutes as the scoring was one sided and Albright ended up taping to an armbar.

Yay Vader. Tamura fights out of the Vader corner on slaughter. Then my computer goes absolutely insane trying to read this disc. Twenty minutes it’s not functioning at all. I manage to finally get it to restart. Not risking watching this again. Damn you shoot wrestling. I swith over to youtube to catch the rest and Vader powerbombs Tamura which gives me some satisfaction for this ordeal.

These type of matches don’t make sense to me in a tag format. It seems more of a series of exhibition matches of guys rotating in and out. Maybe one day I’ll finally understand how the scoring system works. I see points deducted for suplexes and then there are suplexes that don’t score. We do get some nice looking suplexes. I also appreciate there seems to attempt to actually finish one’s opponent. Not really a whole lof of feeling out. Guys just going after one another.

Nice giant swing from Hase. Good amount of rotations. This was a good NJPW six man tag. More fun in ways than AJPW. Choshu and Hashimoto interactions are the best but I too enjoyed when Fujiwara gets involves. I liked him better here than the singles match with Hash. Not much from Chono. Surprised to see Hase get the pinfall victory.
