This would be the only Jado singles match I have seen. Didn’t realize Jado and Gedo were teaming this far back. NOAH green mat. It looks to be insanely hot in the building as crowd is fanning themselves and wiping their faces every so often. Even with the heat they are still pretty lively. Jado hits some nice power moves throughout the match. I figure all along that TAKA is winning but Jado nails him with an impressive top rope hurricarrana. He got planted there. Fun match.

[1994-07-28-AJPW-Summer Action Series] Steve Williams vs Mitsuharu Misawa
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Great match and nice to see Williams get rewarded for his performance through 1994 so far. I liked the suicide elbow to the outside to match Misawa. Williams looks incredibly strong and takes it to Misawa for most of the match. When Misawa gets going, Williams is able to survive. Ending stretch was great and was nice to see someone convincingly beat Misawa in singles match at this time.- 19 replies

[1994-07-24-WCW-Main Event] Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Sherri is a bad fit in this match. She was way too involved early in match which took away from Flair versus Steamboat. I like Sherri and all but it was over doing it. We get it. Flair is bad guy. But it didn't seem like the live audience here cared anyways. These guys are probably so use to having long matches it against each other that they just weren't able to have a good enough match with the shorter time. It does pick up towards the end and Sherri does provide some her great physical ability.- 6 replies

They seems to be wrestling in a hockey rink with no ice down. Of course they use the boards to irish whip each other into. Sabu tries to drop the ladder on Snow but it is so big it just lands on the top rope and then the midde rope. Ladder is just too big for the ring. Couldn’t even see what they were climbing up to grab. Weakest of the ladder matches so far. Just felt like a random brawl with a ladder involved. The climbing was really slow and the large ladder made some of the spots more difficult. Sabu was trying some stuff but overall this match didn’t do it for me.

[1994-07-23-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Ric Flair & Sensuous Sherri
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Flair chants in the audience. Flair puts over Hogan for beating him but doesn't think he can do it again. He's hired a bunch of attorneys to make sure he gets another shot at title. Figured he would have a return match clause anyways.- 6 replies

[1994-07-23-WCW-Saturday Night] Steve Austin and Ricky Steamboat
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Austin looks like a star to me. Good promo. I wonder what would have happened if he did not get injured. Austin talks trash and Steamboat is not having any of it. Steamboat lies down in the ring daring Austin to come in after him. Nice segment though the beeping seemed excessive.- 7 replies

[1994-07-23-SMW-TV] Interview: Terry Gordy / Interview: Dirty White Boy
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Too bad about Jake. Also that they couldn't at least get him to actually drop the Title to Dirty Whit Boy. Gordy interview with clips of him from All Japan. Good promo by DWB. Gordy didn't really offer much of a promo. -
Gangstas debut in SMW. Ha, I love how they turn around and put their hands up when Mark Curtis checks them for foreign objects. Squash where opponents get no offense in. New Jack slips off the top with the headbutt but it still scores the victory. Bob Caudel standing between everyone in the promo is funny. They sure are fan favorites with the SMW crowd. New Jack with an OJ Simpson mention. Looks like we have a competition between ECW and SMW.

Everyone has a price for the Million Dollar Man as Ted says he can buy anything like when he bought the WWF title (nice history reference). He has now bought Luger as new member of corporation. Lex comes out to cheers and Tatanka comes out right away to confront Luger. Tatanka has his back to the camera for most of the interview. Luger was pretty straight up about not selling out to the corporation.

[1994-07-23-WWF-Superstars] 1-2-3 Kid vs Jeff Jarrett
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Lawler was busting out the jokes the whole time on commentary. He was amusing as hell back in the mid 90’s. Good match that ends in draw. They do the King of the Ring post match beat down again with Jarrett piledriving The Kid. Jarrett gets on the mic and calls him yellow for not restarting the match. -
I’m indifferent to Johnny Ace for the most part but this felt like a match that he really looked good in and was getting over with the live crowd also. Williams continues to look like a beast in 1994 and seemed to have Misawa’s number at times here. Overall this was a great match as never heard of it but had a lot of nice action. Last fifteen minutes were excellent and didn’t feel like an almost half hour match at all. Nice pace to it. Ace kicking out of the Tiger Driver didn’t surprise me much but I think is more to do with me viewing it as just another regular move over time. Crowd popped for him kicking out though.

[1994-07-17-WCW-Bash at the Beach] Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Heenan confuses Bockwinkel with Lloyd Bridges. Shaq comes out also. Camera pans to some pro Flair signs in the crowd. Hogan imposters are out in force in the audience. I wonder does Buffer write his own introductions. Hogan doesn’t look all that physically imposing next to Flair. Hulk pulls off an cross armbar! Hogan is busting out some wrestling moves. Crowd seems to be in his corner for most part. Hogan misses leg drop. I don’t like him hulking up after the suplex by Flair but what can you do. Hogan changes up some stuff from the same old usual for finish. Sherri gets involved and clocks Jimmy Hart too. I liked the close up of Flair and Hogan in the corner. Good facials from both. Ha, Hogan goes to clothesline Sherri but she is out of range so he just punches her in the face. Great match as I do enjoy Flair versus Hogan. Match has a special feel and I liked Hogan making slight changes to his regular formula. Added a bit more suspense to the whole thing.- 17 replies

[1994-07-17-WCW-Bash at the Beach] Steve Austin vs Ricky Steamboat
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Austin has “Dragon Slayer” on his tights. Not just a guy with black tights and boots. With these guys involved I was expecting something really good. They lose me during the middle of the match as it’s okay but nothing too exciting. Austin tries getting disqualified when he throws Steamboat over the top rope. Ricky hangs on to the top rope which I like with him being the challenger for title and avoiding the DQ win. Austin ends up stealing the victory with his feet on the ropes.- 9 replies

Dustin misses a running cross body and goes flying out of the ring down the ringside stairs. Arn spends the whole time on the apron not getting involved all that much while Dustin is getting double teamed. Not like Dustin makes a whole lot of attempts to tag out anyways. Finally a tag and the Arn turns on Dustin. Very obvious. What you get for picking a partner that takes a few days to decide on whether he will team with you.

[1994-07-17-WAR-2nd Anniversary Show] Ultimo Dragon vs Great Sasuke
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Dragon has an evil looking mask on. Lots of one guy doing a move and the other guy countering right back with the same move. Very even between the two. Sasuke takes the first clear advantage with the big dive to the outside. Fans were quick to move out of the way on that. Dragon hits the same move later. Sasuke with his big flip dive to the outside why trying to avoid the guardrail as much as possible. I enjoyed the dives. -
[1994-07-16-ECW-Heatwave] Public Enemy vs Dory & Terry Funk (Barbed Wire)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in July 1994
Terry Funk is wearing suspenders with sweatpants. Joey is pretending to be hiding under a desk while doing commentary. Didn’t really care much for this outside of the times when guys got caught up in the barbwire. The chair tossing occurs and it is funny to see some of the fans getting angry at each other for throwing the chairs. Funk loses his sweatpants at some point. He gets wrapped up pretty good in the barbwire at the end. -

Video which shows more actuion of Hogan on the Thunder In Paradise show. Apparently Hank Aaron has told Hogan that breaking Babe Ruth’s homerun record is equal as to Hogan debuting at the Bash.

Sid does fakes crying which is funny. He knows the rulebook and wants Lawler out here right now to defend the title. Sid thinks Lawler not being able to make the title match is grounds for disqualification. The fans help him out and say it would be a forfeit. Sid becomes the new champion. Lance Russell is not impressed by all this.
