[1997-09-07-WWF-Ground Zero] Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Shawn gets all pissed off when his pyro doesn’t go off at the right moment. His reaction was funny as hell. Undertaker beats up Chioda before the ring bell. Hebner ends up replacing referee. Poor trade. Shawn is taking crazing bumps all over the entrance stage, ramp and on the ring barricade. Rude, Triple H and Chyna all get involved. Hebner gets beat up a few times which is probably the highlight of the match. They are doing all the tricks to not have a clean finish. Best part of the match was the stuff before bell officially rang. Well, Taker’s dive was awesome too so the pre and post match action was all you needed to really see here. -
[1997-09-07-WWF-Ground Zero] Sgt. Slaughter and Jim Ross
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
The crowd do not like Sarge as he gets a big Slaughter sucks chant. Austin is very angry with Slaughter, Ross and McMahon. The timing of the Stunner on Ross was fantastic. In mid sentence and felt so out of nowhere. -
[1997-09-08-WWF-Raw] Sgt. Slaughter and Steve Austin
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Ground Zero was complete chaos to Slaughter. He picks on Austin specifically and suspends Steve and starts up a tournament to crown new IC Title. He is ordering Austin to be at Badd Blood to hand over title to winner of tournament. See, Austin is not wrestling but he’s already been hyped for the PPV. Sarge had a great looking sell of the Stunner. Two down and one to go. Vince gets face to face with Austin and it’s obvious what everyone wants to see. -
Sabu nails Beulah and Sandman tries to make the save. RVD and Sabu now bury Dreamer, Sandman and Beulah under the WWF banner. Crowd wants Taz and he quickly comes out and chokes out Alfonzo. The banner thing would have worked better months back when Lawler and Cornette were involved.

“That’s got to be Kane!” Travis joins Team ICON. Those punches were wicked. Christopher was getting choked out too while getting mashed in the face.

[1997-09-06-USWA-TV] Billy Joe Travis and Brian Christopher
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Where was security to watch Travis when he is very visibly picketing outside but is able to sneak into the building? Christopher takes a couple chair shots including one to the head. -
[1997-09-06-AJPW] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Jun Akiyama
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Tough crowd earlier on. I like their matches later on. Crowd just didn’t seem to believe Jun had a chance. AJPW had such a great run on these yearbooks putting out some of the best matches. Tough to follow that act. Match is good but I just think about Jumbo facing Jun instead. -
[1997-09-05-WWF-Friday Night's Main Event] Interview: Steve Austin
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
I’d be very worried if I’m either Ross, McMahon or Monsoon. -
[1997-09-05-WWF-Friday Night's Main Event] Interview: Rick Rude
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Sunny was really eyeing Rude closely during this. I guess she liked being able to look up to a guy. -
[1997-09-05-WWF-Friday Night's Main Event] Interview: Steve Austin
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
They were fortunate that Austin wasn’t more seriously hurt but they did an excellent job keeping him on TV. He shows amazing accuracy with bow and arrow shot on Jim Ross picture. -
[1997-09-05-WWF-Friday Night's Main Event] Sgt. Slaughter announcement
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Slaughter has his own commissioner seal graphic. He is denying Austin’s return to the ring until he completes physical rehab. The establishment is slowly getting in Stone Cold’s way. -
[1997-09-01-WCW-Nitro] Hulk Hogan and J.J. Dillon
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Hogan does make a good point about whether Sting deserves a World Title shot. Dillon continues to look toothless in trying to run WCW. -
[1997-09-01-WCW-Nitro] NWO Four Horsemen Parody
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Buff is useless as Curt. Syxx is pretty funny and too bad him and Flair didn’t continue their feud. Personal comments aside, Nash delivered some really hilarious lines. Sucks that had to parody a real emotional interview by Arn but this could have led up to the Horsemen getting their revenge at WarGames. And well that didn’t happen. But most of all it was an attack on Arn who was retired and couldn't get his revenge that I disliked about it. -
[1997-09-01-BattlARTS] Yuki Ishikawa vs Daisuke Ikeda
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
It's a match that actually benefits from having a small crowd. The focus is completely what is going on in the ring. This isn't a long match by any means but both guys look totally spent from the beatings they have took. Ishikawa waking up after being choked out is great as he looks completely shocked by what happened but ready to continue on fighting. -
[1997-09-01-WCW-Nitro] Nitro Party hype / Sting and Hulk Hogan video
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1997
Tenay looks so uncomfortable sitting there with the Nitro Girls around the booth. Oh, the Nitro parties. I'm just hoping someone around these parts entered a video of their Nitro get together. -
Great clips of Arn’s career in WCW. Lots of good stuff with Arn being the Enforcer. I'm glad they didn't do a half assed video as this showed plenty Arn over the years. This Nitro has been dedicated to Anderson.

Nash potatoes. -
Chono vs Fuchi, All Japan September 2, 2000 We get some stalling early by both guys. Chono won’t take off his ring entrance top which seems to miff Fuchi. More stalling by Chono as he teases walking out in match. Chono really heels it up during match. Fuchi’s corner standing on Chono move is great. Crowd really gets behind Fuchi when he starts going on the offense. Real fun match with Chono being a dick and Fuchi playing the plucky babyface putting up a fight. The outsider heel coming into the territory to take on the local babyface. It's a simple match but each guy plays his part excellent. My first horse candidate.

Kobashi & Akiyama vs Misawa & Taue, NOAH August 5, 2000 Main event of NOAH’s first show since the guys split from AJPW. Two out of three falls though it feels like only a one fall match with the quick submission and it going two straight falls. The finish after the first fall with Misawa is disturbing to watch. The shots are stiff and can easily be heard over the quiet crowd. The Jun show continues as he picks up both falls in match. Plus he takes a shot at his tag partner Kobashi after the match! Hard one to rate right now on whether it will make my top 100. The striking was good. I like Jun’s continued strong rise but the two out of three falls stipulation didn’t satisfy.

Did you get rid of the Italics for highly recommended matches? Don't see them on new download.

[1997-08-31-Michinoku Pro] Great Sasuke vs Dick Togo
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1997
We appear to be outdoors at night. It does seem like most outdoor shows happened during the day. I think they are wrestling in a parking lot. Sasuke with the Space Flying Tiger Drop on to the concrete. Match was fine but I just prefer the MPro guys mostly in tag matches. -
[1997-08-31-NJPW] Shinya Hashimoto vs Kensuke Sasaki
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1997
Big August for Sasaki concludes with him winning the IWGP title. -
The ECW vs WWF feud had already peaked. I was thinking this was the match when RVD took that crazy bump off a Dreamer piledriver. This is edited though but maybe that happens later in the year anyways. RVD takes a big DDT off the top rope. Sabu attacks after match and they cover Dreamer with the WWF banner. Seemed like a good portion of the crowd were cheering the WWF banner.

[1997-08-30-ECW-TV] Rick Rude and Shane Douglas promos
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1997
Rude gets a hearty ECW crowd welcome. Joey’s reaction to the “Fuck Him Up” chant was fun. Styles wants nothing to do with Rude and bails. Shane’s genitals are holding up 16 pounds of gold. Rude has found Douglas an opponent in Al Snow but we don’t see the match.
