He has had some great matches though, I know this is going back a bit now but his trilogy with Bryan in 05/06 was brilliant!

I know it was a "double main event" but even so, why not put the Hogan/Sid match in the middle of the card and the world title on last? Is this just Vince openly admitting that Hogan is bigger than the title?

Although I'm sure Flair/Hogan at WM would have been a fantastic spectacle worthy of the big stage I'm kind of glad it didn't pan out as it led to one of my personal favourite matches of all time (no, not Hogan vs Sid) but Ric Flair vs Randy Savage, what a match, it had everything, its a travesty that it wasn't in the main event spot!

Hey guys, much in the same vain as the thread discussing the WWF Title picture heading into Wrestlemania IV I was wondering what the deal was with Hogan dropping the title to Taker at Survivor Series 91 only to win it back a week later at Tuesday In Texas and then be stripped of the title on TV shortly after? Also, what are peoples opinions on the matches themselves?

The guy said he wanted to make a comprehensive list of the best matches in WCW history, but even if he wants to make a list of matches that are critical to understanding WCW I don't see how a Stars and Stripes tag is any less worthy than Mils Mascaras vs. Cactus Jack or Lex Luger vs. Mean Mark Callous or Terror Risin’ vs Keith Cole. There will obviously be good matches I've missed but I wanted to limit myself to a set number, the 3 matches you have highlighted were chosen as I thought it was interesting to see very early Mick Foley, Undertaker and Triple H matches.

This is something I've been working on for quite a long time, I wanted to make a comprehensive list (yes, I'm a list guy) of the best matches in WCW's history, then I extended that to include 'important' or 'famous' matches in their history too that I felt needed to be seen to tell the complete story of WCW regardless of the match quality not being so high in some cases (cough *jay leno* cough). I then added every WCW World Heavyweight Title change, which got very messy around late '99 to mid '00 and have come up with a list of 250 matches that I feel tell the story of WCW from it's beginnings from the NWA in '88 through the highs of the mid 90's and it's eventual demise. I researched the internet, using other peoples polls and lists that I saw plus my own knowledge of the product and watched a hell of a lot of wrestling, this list contains bloody brawls, 5* classics, cruiserweight clinics and unfortunately the nWo... The general idea was just to put together a comprehensive list that anyone who is interested in WCW can look through and pick out matches they may not have known about and would like to see. I agree that all their matches which i've seen (which isn't that many) do seem to be very similiar, I've never watched a complete show though so maybe that will be a true test to see how I get on with the product

So what is it that people don't like about Dragon Gate? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the extreme no-selling of huge moves would be the main thing? Just to clarify aswell, I'm not a huge DG fan, it's far from my favourite style, just something that I'm looking to find out more about...

When I first saw this thread I didn't know what JTTS stood for and my first guess after a bit of reading was 'Just There To Sell' as in a jobber who gets in no offense but just sells the bigger stars moves. Now I know it means 'Jobber To The Stars' but I'm quite happy as my first guess wasn't too far out.

It's such a smartly wrestled match, I loved the opening sequence and just the little things like Masami shaking out her arm whilst having Bull in a single leg boston crab because shes just escaped the armbar, just such simple touches that a lot of people don't do. The outside brawling was great too, Bull took a hell of a powerbomb on the outside and her double stomp from the apron onto Masami looked equally painful. Just a great match.

Gona check out a lot of the other stuff you listed today aswell, my favourite thing about these older matches that someone else mentioned earlier is the heat that they get, its incredible and at a level that todays WWE will probably never come close to getting again! Looking forward to watching the Dusty/Graham matches as my list had no Dusty on it and that was a travesty. Anyone have any opinions on what was the best match of the Piper/Snuka feud?
