I think this is where the WWE face structure falls flat. Ever since Austin, the amount of faces who do the right thing is miniscule.

The best part of this is just how easy JBL has fallen into the role of corporate toady. Like he was made to do it.
  3. Make the thread!!!!!! And done.
  4. I started this thread because Goodhelmet asked me to do it, and frankly, it's the main thing I mark out about minus supremely slick technical wrestling. Since this is really just a way to start off talking about the best or worst ring gear that we've ever seen. Best: The Rockers green-and-black masterpieces at WrestleMania 7. I swear to god, when I started e-fedding, those were the things I had in mind for what I wanted my gear to look like. Here's a picture: Misawa's everything. While it wasn't as good in NOAH, where he had that fur on his jacket that made it look like he had been living in the mountains before coming down to Tokyo for wrestling, the classic green and white still plays. Worst (Or perhaps not the best): Dolph Ziggler's Leopard-Print era. Rey Misterio Jr. during the Filthy Animals era. He looks 12. NWO Wolfpac Sting.
  5. Anyone done a Pro Wrestling ring gear thing on here? because I was thinking I might start a thread, and I didn't want to step on toes.
  6. Maybe it's the circles I travel in (I still e-fed, long after it became hugely popular) but man.... you will never see more go-go-go matches with no hint of selling or anything like it than you will in an e-fed show. It's all spot spot spot.
  7. Maybe this is because I have watched so much NOAH Kobashi. It's like this for me with blue banana hammock-trunks AmDrag, and really anything but the classic Liger outfit just feels inappropriate.
  8. Was just watching a Kobashi retrospective MV someone did and this dawned on me: I cannot envision a world in which Kobashi is not wearing black with blue flame. Like whenever i see him in the orange, I have to remind myself that I'm watching Kobashi. And maybe this is the gear mark in me coming out, but I think I prefer Kobashi with the black and blue than i do with the orange. It just feels more.... him. Anyhow, are there any other wrestlers who bring out this same reaction for you?
  9. let me add to this: He is a very very good tag team\trios\atomicos wrestler. It's a distinctive style and he is as good as it gets.
  10. the 2009 tag was with Jigsaw.
  11. I like Quack a decent amount, but I'm not sure I agree with this part. Who has he trained that really "made it" (in any sense of the term, indies or WWE)? Does Claudio count? Or Kingston?
  12. It has always amazed me how someone without any formal training managed to A: become one of the business's most respected trainers and B: be someone who has had as many great matches as he has had while somehow never even getting a look from a major promotion. It's difficult to comprehend. So my question is this: If someone asked you about Mike Quackenbush, what would you say were his contributions to the business (if he made any?) And, what would you say would be a good matchlist to get someone started on his best work?
  13. Do you have to have a certain amount of seniority to start a thread in the Microscope or can anyone do it?
  14. And this is why I love this board. Also, i discovered Tyree Pride and I sort of want him to manage a collection of young babyfaces now.
  15. Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas were regular stops for the Florida office. Thank you. Now to do research and try and figure out if any of those stops in the Bahamas used local workers, or if it was all people from the Florida office.

For some reason, I'm thinking that maybe to pay off that "The McMahons Hate The Rhodes" comment, It should be "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and not Golddust.
  17. Since I'm breaking my PWO seal, i figured this would be the exact right place to do it. I just wondered if anyone had ever heard of any legitimately good pro wrestling that happened in the Caribbean outside of Puerto Rico. It's one of those real wrestling dead zones, and I'm always terribly intrigued if anything happened there.
