  1. I think I was the high vote on him!
  2. I've noticed every time an Alabama football defensive player gets an interception he'll run to the sideline and throw a championship belt over his shoulder. There's a lot of wrestling fans on the Baltimore Orioles. Adam Jones passes around a championship belt to his teammates and Tommy Hunter referenced Ric Flair during their Wild Card clinching locker room celebration.
  3. Awesome. I've been hoping that you were going to add these to your channel.
  4. Check out Playlists for Portland Wrestling page as well. Not full episodes, but clips, matches broken down by year.
  5. Trader Jack for '86 through '89 Memphis
  6. Wesley Corman followed by Budd Clark for '80 through '85 Memphis. Video quality is...not good. But, it's still worth watching if you've never seen this era of Memphis. HockeyMaskGuy and DownNDirtyTN for Smoky Mountain.
  7. Also, for the crowd heat alone, you can't forget the Idol/Lawler hair match with Tommy Rich hiding under the ring.
  8. Another vote for Tully/Magnum One not mentioned yet is Backlund/Patterson. In general, I don't care for the way to determine the winner in WWWF cage matches, but they worked it perfectly in this match with Backlund having to dive after Patterson on several occasions. The match delivered a ton of drama. Duggan/DiBiase and Final Conflict were great too.
  9. Was the #1 vote for Garvin/Hayes a mistake that was meant for the original Freebirds? I'm not making fun of the voter, my opinion is no better/worse than anyone else's and if he meant to vote them #1, that's fine. I'm just surprised.
  10. Hard to pinpoint exactly, but sometime in the mid 70's. My grandfather and all my uncles were obsessed with wrestling. Being the youngest (smallest), I always got a spot right in front of the big box television on the floor. Also, there were always wrestling magazines around. Pretty sure I learned to read with wrestling magazines. To the horror of my elementary school teachers, I used to always bring them with me to school. Back then, the covers always featured wrestlers wearing a crimson mask.
  11. The empty arena match show from Memphis should be included, but there was an episode shortly after where Funk goes apeshit in the studio because Lawler isn't there that was great as well.
  12. Memphis 8/14/82 (Flair's only appearance on Memphis TV. Great angle w/Lawler.)
  13. This would be the way to go, IMO. Run it like a modern day version of an old territory. Similar to SMW. It wouldn't be a "mainstream" success, but wrestling fans would eat it up.
  14. It's on Dailymotion if you're interested.
  15. I don't think it was horrible, but it was certainly bizarrely one-sided. At MSG, I'd expect Backlund to have the edge on offense, but maybe a 60/40 split, not the 90/10 split that occurred.
  16. I had Flair #1 and Funk #2
  17. I voted Flair #1 and Funk #2. Would be fine with the order being flipped though. Both deserve the top spot, imo.
  18. My #1 and #2 will finish there. Nice. Interested to see if I got the order right, but honestly both guys deserve it, imo.
  19. Wound up with 4 out of the Top 10. Would've had 6 if Bockwinkel/Jumbo had snuck in. My #1 through #4 are all still left.
  20. I have the "I Broke Wahoo's Leg" T-shirt that Greg Valentine used to wear in Mid-Atlantic. Man, I get some strange looks when I wear it in public. I was wearing it during a family trip to the zoo last month and a guy in his 60's stopped me all excited to tell me he remembered what that was all about. I think 99% of the weird looks are from people who don't get the reference and just think it's a weird statement to have on a T-shirt.
  21. Eaton and Morton wrestled on WCW Main Event on 8/4/91.
  22. I love that Morton and Eaton finished as high as they did. IMO, Eaton is actually part of 3 of the Top 25 tag teams of all-time (2 Midnight Express + w/ Koko). I didn't vote for Cena (or any other Modern WWE wrestler) as I find the product unwatchable. I keep trying to watch it, but I can't take it. I understand I might be on an island with that opinion.
  23. Richard Land has added the MSG Backlund/Valentine Broadway from '79.
  24. I had Valentine in my top 20. I guess compared to where he finished the last time, this is a great showing for him.
  25. I had Dundee ranked in the 20's. I'm glad he made the list pretty easily.
