  1. holy shit I forgot how awful he was at this point, not only did he look like a slightly bigger Richard Simmons with baby smooth legs his in ring work was embarrassing at best The match against Bad news brown at SS 88 is one of the worst matches Ive ever seen just a horrible match from two wrestlers who earlier in their careers had been decent workers how do you get to suck that bad? was there any match from this era that was watchable? I know him and Bravo were involved in a feud but Im not sure the roided up talent free Bravo carried him to anything decent No power at that point either
  2. 85 Starrcade has just gone up its 6 and a half hrs long so Ill give it a listen at work today and get back to you guys on what I thought I miss the Truth I came of age reading that paper, even if at times I needed shower after consuming it. The TV guide was the go to for WWF results for sure I had a WWF magazine subscription in 89-90 and it wasnt cheap either. First time I remembered WWF on screen here it was a Superstars where Hacksaw was being choked out by Andre. We owned a video store and WM4 was the first event we had on VHS
  3. 85 Starrcade has just gone up its 6 and a half hrs long so Ill give it a listen at work today and get back to you guys on what I thought
  4. some of the humor and impressions are pretty fucking hilarious If they nail an Ole impression or a Flair impression in this series its going to go a long way
  5. its a podcast though, if I wanted a straight rundown of the match Id watch the match, the detours and ad libbing is something I listen to a podcast for. If it was mapped out and perfectly calibrated whats the point? a lot of wrestling podcasts need to loosen up and have fun, I knew nothing about Starrcade 84 before I started their podcast and by the end of it I was buzzing with all the details and intrique of the event
  6. I expected nothing less from you Johhny
  7. us as in the people in this group
  8. how did Hogan let down his friend Andre?
  9. If you do get through the 84 podcast give us a proper review, I know its an investment of time but surely its a better way to gauge a podcast. There are a lot of podcasts that are "lightweight" but still a decent listen
  10. if Steve Austin was a roided up monster he would be the spitting image of the Warlord
  11. Russo seems to love a good miscarriage angle and most of his ideas were abortions something odd has happened to this man in his youth
  12. heres a list of Russo angles ooking Tank Abbot to be the baddest man on the planet Booking himself to win the WCW title Booking Jushin Liger to loose his IWGP title on Nitro to Juventud Guerra Booking David Arquette to win the WCW title Booking the No Limit Soldiers to be faces only for the crowd to boo Master P's group and cheer their rivals who were suppose to be heels, West Texas Rednecks Booking a (Legit) injured Bret Hart in a hardcore match with Terry Funk (This is right after Bret was kicked in the head by Goldberg) Booking Jeff Jarrett as the top guy for his company (No matter how many times he swung his guitar, he never was a main eventer, at least not then) Portraying Latino wrestlers in a negative light "Pinata on a Pole" match Having a MMA style match with AJ Styles and Frank Trigg, only for it to end in DQ The Last Rites Match between Sting and Abyss (Special Appearance: Paper Mache Tombstone) Electrified Cage Match between Team 3D and LAX (Only no electrified steel, to mimick electrocution, the lights in the arena flicker on and off) The Bash at the Beach Infamous Shoot Promo All the many of many worked shoots (Goldberg walking out on a match, Hogan laying down for Sting at Halloween Havoc, etc.) Sports Entertainment Xtreme (Team SEX huh? good one Russo) The Pope Mobile Hugh Morris Father Angle Terri Runnels having a fake miscariage Having Road Warrior Hawk fall off the titan tron The Incest Overtones in some angles (Steph and Vince, Ken and Ryan Shamrock ...etc.) The Brawl for All tournament that ended up ruining the career of Dr. Death in WWF Val Venis being castrated live on TV Val Venis simulating male enjaculating with a supersoaker The Racial Gang Warfare in WWF (The DOA being the Hells Angels, The Los Buricas being like Latin Crime Kingpins) Every "On A Pole" Match Oklahoma Kaz Hayashi and La Parka having English dubbing during their promos (Yet the english dubbing is not what Kaz and Parka are saying in their native language) Re-Creating the Montreal Screw-Job angle (TNA and WCW)
  13. I wonder what the overall win loss record was in the Hogan Flair rivalry. Did Flair ever pin him clean?
  14. there was a match in WCW where Piper changed the finish in ring and got a tremendous amount of heat for it, Im not sure exactly which match it was that was one of Pipers faults imo he refused to do clean jobs for just about everybody
  15. I have to apologise as well, the tone of your posts pushed me over the edge and I kinda went heel. I listen to a lot of podcasts and I appreciate the lengths people go to to put them together and the guys at Lapsed do a good job as you guys at Titans do. Parv the podcast is fine, I went for a reactive bushwacker bite
  16. so youre shitting on this with a superior attitude when youre helping host one of PTBN nations weakest podcasts? seriously I love a lot of the podcasts on there but that shit is a cure for insomnia
  17. should have been pushed to the moon in 91 as a monster heel. Im a huge Powers of Pain mark and though the Barbarian was the superior member Warlord still held up his half
  18. are you one of the hosts of Titans?
  19. because that exercise in propaganda is the definitive article right?
  20. Like Christ, Hogan had his detractors but also like JC his actions were so pure as to be beyond normal human comprehension Randy Savage...take a look at the name closely, it sums up the man.
  21. its difficult to make the ration of heels to faces even given the run the gauntlet style booking Id definitly cut Bootyman and the frying pans
  22. he was a slightly better Jim Powers
  23. Hogan and Liz were strictly platonic and valued fidelity. Savage was borderline insane and intensely jealous of any wrestler who even made eye contact with her. Hogan always looked for Randy and withou his help Savage would never have become champion. As time went on Hogan had to do right by Liz and the WWF by taking out this woman abusing psychopath.
  24. Im a little obsessed with this match, initially because of the sheer ego and stupidity on display. This is the tipping point for Hulkamania and given the layout of the match you can see the the absolute insanity and fear Hulk was operating with at the time, but Im convinced theres a good match in there somewhere how would you rebook this match?
  25. Russo had a pathological hate for in ring work and possibly wrestling in general Given his way 100% Pro Wrestling would have become a 3 hr weekly reality show, soft porn, Grand theft auto sitcom Jeff Jarrett would have been a 30 time world Champion, there would have been an actual live birth, a crucifixation match and a Battle royal that took place in a minefield
