I agree that the match felt like a foregone conclusion. I think the Adam Page match had the same problem. I didn't watch it and I knew who was going to win.

I have enjoyed individual performances but not entire matches so far.

You have never seen them live in Arena Mexico. After their performance at last year's Anniversario, I can't be objective. They're my favorite tag team right now. With that said, this was my least favorite Lucha Bros match in AEW. I blame SCU.

I am not arguing this at all. The gimmick has to go. In the ring, they were rock solid and i look forward to watching them wrestle again.

I don't give a shit what the Dark Order look like. They were great. They absolutely have to lose the Dark Order evil bullshit gimmick. Wrestling wise, they have tag teaming down. Lose the fucking gimmick. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus looked great. Angelico and Evans looked... there. I need more Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy and i need more of the Super Smash Brothers sans stupid gimmick.

Calling Cornette out just gives Corny more ammunition. Bad look from Janela... especiallu when the match was getting hot.

I really enjoyed the 6 man for what it was. I liked Darby selling the ribs on offense and defense. I wish Jimmy Havoc would work an entire match just biting fingers until they bleed. Also, major props to hitting a superplex and just going for the pin. Everyone else looked good enough. Fun main show opener.

The fact that the heels didn't just beat the piss out of Darby Allin while waiting for these long entrances really bothers me.

The first few minutes had GREAT Fantastics level arm work from Priestly and her partner. To her credit, Rihi didn't use that arm the rest of the match. There were some noticeable flubs but another fun pre-show match. They are hyping Baker as the leader of the women's division and she was by far my least favorite person in there. I loved Priestly and want to see more of her. I want to see more of the joshi girls too so they have that going for them as well.

For the record, I don't think ramps are needed in modern wrestling. I always preferred the more intimate MSG entrance setup.

Great lookingsetup fro a mid size venue. It just looks different. Love it. Sonny Kiss vs. Peter Avalon Fun opener! Kiss should always come out with cheerleaders dancing because he was the best dancer there. Avalon was really good too. Nothing mind blowing but fun opener. Also, the Librarian gimmick may be suffering because Avalon and Bates aren't really embracing the role. Cut your hair (Avalon), tske the dye out (Bates) and change your wardrobe.

He is the last person on that announce team that should be dropped. For the record, I don't think you should drop any of them, even Marvez. Throughout all of wrestling, and even sports, the most iconic announcers are old dudes. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler were older than the entire roster when they were at their peak. Lance Russell was old. Gordon Solie was old. Heenan and Gorilla were old. John Madden and Pat Summerall were old. Howard Cosell was old. Marv Albert is old. That super old dude from boxing is old. Old, familiar voices make wrestling (and sports) better.

I couldn't disagree more about JR. I think it is absolutely imperative you have somebody of his stature there to give them a credibility they wouldn't have as a new company without him. During DoN, it was so refreshing to see an old man, a dude in a mask and a frumpy middle aged guy as your announce team. I think it is also refreshing he is making his opinions known and not towing some corporate line. It is so refreshing in this day and age of branding and staying on message to have somebody just shooting the shit. I think it was a Tony Khan interview or the Observer that said in order for AEW to get a timeslot, they needed to bring certain people into the fold. I think Jericho and JR were part of that package. JR isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

I am sort of in the same boat as you. I am familiar with most of the names but want to see how they wrestle the matches. - i expect Bucks-Rhodes to be similar to MNM vs Hardys where you think you are getting a spotfest but end up getting a great Southern formula tag where the Bucks end up cutting off the ring and abusing old man Dustin for most of the match until he tags Cody to clean house then the Rhodes boys start punishing the acrobats. My bold prediction: it will be the Bucks best match ever and another feather in Dustin's cap as one of the best tag wrestlers ever. - I was not impressed with the Guevara-Sabian match at DoN so for me, this will be more about how Page performs and if he can come across like a big deal. - I think Brandi should lose all of her matches. You can even have a storyline where she needs to decide of she wants to be the CBO or a wrestler. I hate part timers winning matches in general. - Which brings me to Cima vs. Kenny Omega. I think Omega should lose (he won't) because he is spreading himself too thin. Working with the women, promoting video game shows, being an EVP. There should be consequences. I also think this match might be hurt because the finish feels like a foregone conclusion. - I don't know what to expect from the womens tag. - I know the Lucha Bros tag will be a spotfest. I don't care. I have no objective glasses when it comes to Pentagon. - i have never seen the Librarian wrestle so I am not going to pre-judge his wrestling based on his lame gimmick. I am also not down on Sonny Kiss's gimmick like Jim Cornette so i am going in to this one with an open mind. - i have no expectations either way for the 3 way tag. If it is as fun as the Fyter Fest 3 way, I'll be satisfied.

We can also dismiss it because the match wasn't good and inadvertently mocked the type of match that was headlining the show. I am all for cross promotions and hyping up your sponsors. Why did Jebailey have to wrestle? You said he is very popular in the gaming world. Why couldn't he come out to hype up the weekend and then you can have a heel (MJF) come out and run down the nerds, beat up the CEO, get real heat and have another face cosplaying as a game character come out and rescue Jebailey while executing his game finisher as the rescue move. You still feature Jebailey. You don't have 2 "hardcore" matches on the show. You can still promote the gaming spirit of the event. You don't force one of of your rising stars to go toe to toe with a novice. You get real heat for the heel. By beating up the guy in the angle, you can still play up your Mid South inspiration. It was poorly played and came across bad on TV. If you insist on doing the exact match that actually happened, make it a dark match to play for the in-house crowd.

Edgar, that's what I have heard. Everyone was excited that the Super Smash Brothers were in AEW but the Dark Order shit is hokey and unbelievable. They might be the most non-threatening evil stable of all time.
