  1. THey are going to have to distinguish these pretty brunettes from each other because I thought it was Smilie Kylie until the announcers kept calling her Allie.
  2. What did they learn? Nobody cared about them.
  3. Decent opener. Nothing offensive. A ton of contrived but well executed spots that I enjoyed watching. The Private Party double teams were great. Now, the Dark Order are not going to get over. They were mocked at Double or Nothing and the angle died an apathetic death tonight. Reboot these guys if you want to keep them and give them something new before they get on national TV.

    AEW Fyter Fest

Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Brothers & Laredo Kid Jon Moxley vs. Joey Janela Cody vs. Darby Allin Hangman Page vs. MJF vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Jungle Boy Christopher Daniels vs. CIMA Nyla Rose vs. Riho vs. Yuka Sakazaki Michael Nakazawa vs. Alex Jebailey in a hardcore match (The Buy In) SCU vs. Best Friends vs. Private Party (The Buy In) I am excited for this card. 1. It's free. 2. It will give me an idea of what a non PPV AEW show will look like. 3. It will give us a better idea if the non main event guys can hang. Anyone else tuning in tonight?
  5. So much for people thinking this would be a backstage only role.
  6. This is from Meltzer in the Observer... Is that bold part a typo or is he serious?
  7. I'm not really interested in making this a WWE vs. AEW thread but there is a difference in philosophy in who is running the show. One is spearheaded by guys in their 30s. The other is going to be run by guys in their 60s/70s. I have no objection bringing in old guys to give feedback... but this feels like a disaster waiting to happen.
  8. Also, bringing back Bischoff and giving Heyman more power really does show a complete lack of faith in elevating the people you already have and/or being open to a new direction altogether.
  9. I'm bored so I am going to come up with some others.
  10. Hell, this feels more like Bischoff and Russo in TNA.
  11. @The Thread Killer I enjoy the 83 Weeks podcast also... but we have seen an Eric Bischoff led wrestling product in the last 10 years and it sucked.
  12. I think the problem is that Heyman is sort of tied to Brock Lesnar right now... and Lesnar is not fresh.

  15. There is a thread for Heyman and Bischoff now.
  16. My favorite comment from reddit (paraphrased)... it's like a politician promising to make changes and filling his cabinet with people from the Reagan administration.
  17. Ticket prices are double?
  18. I actually thought the leg work made perfect sense. It didn't lead to the finish but it didn't have to. When Juice went through the 1st table and started to sell the leg, I liked that Moxley picked up on it and switched his focus.
  19. I watched Moxley vs. Juice earlier and I didn't think it was a MOTYC but I enjoyed it more than any Dean Ambrose singles match ever. Ambrose channeled his inner-Terry Funk/Jerry Lawler and learned how to punch. He tried busting Juice open hardway, succeeded and started biting the cut. No stupid slingshot lariat. When he wasn't trying to punch Juice's head in, he was working the legs including a Texas Cloverleaf and a Bret Hart ringpost figure four. A couple of missed dives by Juice kind of take you out of the match because they were two really big spots but Moxley was bringing it and made me want to see more. Great match.
  20. Did they show any footage of Kofi in Ghana on their main programming this week?
  21. I understand the sentiment but he's the newsworthy topic right now. As long as he keeps doing these interviews, we will continue to discuss them.

  23. I don't know if it was here or on DVDVR but someone mentioned Nyla Rose. I think it is to the company's credit that she is a transgender wrestler but it doesn't define the character she is playing. It also doesn't seem to be something the company is running away from. Despite the Cornette-Sonny Kiss nonsense, there is real progress being made, especially if they stay the course with Rose where she is judged as a performer and not for her gender.
