  1. Well it is natural to assume that Triple H thinks endorsing what Rollins does as an in ring worker and calling him his protege would warp neophytic WWE fans into thinking that is what Triple H has been about in his own career. It sounds very tinfoil hat-ish but I wouldn't be surprised if Triple H continues to find ways to manipulate his legacy so to keep growing to justify the WWE's forcefeeding of him as one of the all time legends. Obviously one only has to watch any of his many plodding matches to know better but if he endorses what Rollins does, then by god he gets wrestling!
  2. What is wrong with Charlotte winning the belt only for Sasha to take it off her in a short order? You can write months of Charlotte chasing her true destiny as champion, similar to Reigns and the world title.
  3. It won't happen but if they really wanted to get the Revolution off on a better note they could just let Nikki keep the Divas belt and one of the new girls brings back the WWE Womens title and talks about how that belt properly represents the revolution, not the butterfly belt.
  4. He was the only one of the three who didn't really stand out beyond his ability as a worker, though. Teaming with Ambrose & Reigns was great for hiding his deficiencies. I wouldn't say that. He had a clear role within the stable that he did well, and that was actually excellent when the Shield turned babyfaces. While Dean Ambrose was a surprise as a good FIP with the babyfaced Shield, I think Rollins stood out the most as the guy who actually wrestled a crowd pleasing style and was doing the highspots for the team. I think that emergence was why they thought he was a good candidate to turn and be the chosen one. But his style just never translated well for his character. He's the guy who is better off as a perpetual babyface as long as he refuses to change his style. Which is a shame as he is a good heel as a character.
  5. Bryan's book directly contradicts this, he said Shawn came to training all the time. You mean his WWE book? Of course he is going to say that now after that becoming part of the story in 2013. But seek out his interviews before then and that directly contradicts his book.
  6. I know they are setting it up that way but I don't want to ever root for Triple H.
  7. If they were doing HHH/Rollins then I kind of wish Rollins did not adopt the pedigree. I want Rollins to come out of it the babyface but it isn't a babyface move to take on your heel mentor's move and persona.
  8. Probably taking the temperature on Kurt. I think what would be best for Kurt would be to come back to NXT as a trainer/part-time performer. He'd get his competitive jollies taken care of, but he can help train newer guys and gals. Not just on wrestling, but I'd hope they'd position him as a cautionary tale of health drinking, injuries, etc. That isn't the only jollies Kurt Angle would have to get satisfied. Kurt wants his place among the top stars of professional wrestling. That isn't getting it done in NXT. Not that it is a bad idea. It is a great idea but would Kurt take it? Doubtful.
  9. Out of nowhere? Nah. Vince has always made it clear he thought he was ugly...dating back to something like 2000. Any time Christian has gotten a push, it has usually been with resistance from Vince.
  10. I meant in storyline. Regardless of when he enters, the fans are going to believe he is one of the frontrunners to win. But also I think I would have booked him #1 and then be the last guy eliminated. But of course that probably turns the winner into a big babyface so whatever.

    Goldberg

Although I have to acknowledge that Goldberg was always going to be a bad fit in the WWE. They like to book their babyfaces to get sympathy heat and to have to overcome odds with some struggle. They like to have their heels get over on the babyfaces til the blowoff. That wasn't what made Goldberg great. He was a heel destroyer. He was a guy you book to run over the heels and that its the heels who has to struggle against Goldberg.

    Goldberg

The one time they booked Goldberg exactly how he should have been booked (Summerslam), they killed it dead with the finish.
  13. If they really have to run a Rollins/HHH program, it should be at Mania. So yes, I would prefer a survivor series elimination match instead of a singles match. But it should be Rollins captaining the Authority team, and either losing which sets Triple H off or Triple H turning on Rollins to cause a loss.
  14. It fits if you imagine him as the Charlotte in that group-blonde and athletic.
  15. Since Sting will most likely slink back in the shadows after NOC, I can easily see Kane tabbed as Rollins's next title program for the fall.
  16. Or Rollins who discarded him like a piece of trash?
  17. NXT is still at its heart a developmental show. Of course you are dealing with people who are not yet polished or are not given enough opportunities to showcase mic skills. I really think if the WWE found someone that could wow them in that department, they wouldn't be on NXT very long.
  18. Too bad they can't do something similar to the 1994 Royal Rumble finish where they could gauge reaction to see who the fans wanted to support more, Charlotte or Sasha.
  19. Yeah, Jake's cancer scare made TMZ and other mainstream sites. He has a movie coming out. My boss who doesn't watch wrestling would know who Jake Roberts is. Hell, the first sports personality coming in to do his job anyone would think of when hearing "Enter Sandman" would be Mariano Rivera, not the ECW performer! And Sandman's only other notable contribution (although only acknowledged by hardcores) is that he was the template for which Steve Austin drew inspiration for his Stone Cold gimmick. But casual fans wouldn't know that. I think the issue is that Jingus is projecting his own views onto a larger population base. Jingus is/was involved with wrestling, IIRC, so of course his people are people who would know this stuff. But that's not the norm for everywhere else. Just my guess.
  20. I like the idea of a new Shield and it would help Reigns especially if he was booked as an undisputed leader of the new unit but it won't be good for Ambrose the LUNATIC FRINGE~!!! to stick him in the Shield again long term.
  21. I think the only way Reigns would be seen as an underdog at the Rumble is if the Authority purposefully stuck him with the #1 entry. Reigns coming in anywhere from 11 to 30 isn't quite underdog-ish considering he has already been built up as a guy who does a lot of damage in multi-person environment (see Survivor Series 2013 and Royal Rumbles 2014 and 2015).
  22. Just look at TNA. They have been on the same national network as ECW. They have lasted as long if not longer than ECW. Yet you hear stories all the time about wrestlers being stopped by fans in public places and be asked some variation of the same question which is "Why aren't you wrestling anymore?" This despite the fact they have been wrrstling for years with TNA. The way you would have it is that people should know James Storm. The reality is no, not many people know who James Storm is. It is great you are involved in a community of people that knows their shit, but it isn't the indicator of national or global awareness that you seem to think it is. I guess I should giggle at your astounding lack of awareness of reality but I won't.
  23. The proof is in the pudding, that being Jaguar did in fact not know wbo Sandman is. So I don't see why you are acting indignant about hypotheticals when the incident proves us correct. But sure, y'all can giggle all you want.
  24. Not really. Which is why it probably will be Kane like others are saying. Edit- Maybe Samoa Joe but that is doubtful.
  25. C'mon Jingus. Getting to the heart of the issue here, can you really honestly picture Jaguar watching ECW at all? Hell I am not even sure she would have watched Raw or Nitro either. Seems to me the only Americans she would know of are the ones who went to Japan as the gaijins in their native companies or global icons. Sandman is neither.
