  1. Got both 1 and 2 and vacation starting tomorrow... and camping with my fiance to start on Saturday. Thursday will be a marathon of goodness though. Thanks again Loss.
  2. How long was Mercury out for after that? It couldn't have been longer than a month. I might be wrong.
  3. So now the legend is that Danielson's eye was "knocked out of his head?" Man, in ten years the story will be that Morishima plucked it out of his head Kill Bill style and then stepped on it, squashing it like a grape. Regardless, Danielson was able to wrestle the next night with a marshmallow stuffed in the socket.
  4. Actually, on the figure four site podcast, Meltzer has stated that he watches almost all of the ROH DVDs, and that it's his favorite promotion to watch. I can't recall the actual quote but he stated that he feels most of their shows are very good, especially the main events. Guess Meltzer is just a ROHbot.
  5. I thought he wasn't VINCE enough. If he would've come back and immediately had his super-swagger in full force and going over the top with everything as only he can it would've been awesome. He was less of a cartoon character than he has been this year and that hurt it in my eyes.
  6. I would assume it had to do with not wanting Lashley's physique look less impressive. I assumed it was because he didn't quite have a Lashley-esqe physique anymore... for whatever reason.
  7. ...Which coincided with the testing beoming more and more of a sham.
  8. Which is one of my biggest concerns. Congressional action is essentially drug testing employees of a private company. Would any of us be comfortable if the government tested us for drugs at our own workplace? Really, what's the difference between the government and a faceless corporation who would both likely outsource your testing to an independent lab? But that's not the topic. The way I look at the main topic, the government is going to waste time on things that aren't really important to the country anyway. So they might as well waste it on hopefully improving something I care about
  9. If someone can find his article comparing deaths in wrestling to deaths from SNL that would be great. TNA must be shitting bricks if they've sent this douchebag out to do their dirty work.
  10. The way your quote looked I thought it was going to be a shitty poem. Instead it was a shitty net talking point. HHH hasn't even been in the position to bury talent since he put over Batista 2 and a half years ago. The only people he's "buried" (if you really want to stretch it) would be Eugene, The Spirit Squad, and the McMahons. All are waaay below him on the card or part-timers. All should be handily destroyed by a main eventer. Cena beat Cade and Murdoch by himself on Monday night and Wahlers doesn't seem to bat an eyelash about that. And when he does come back he will beat King Booker. He should! It's his comeback feud as a face after a long layoff. They always win their comeback feuds. And if he gets the title soon I'm cool with that as well since it's been a long time since he's even been in the main event.
  11. I used to love the story about Paul E. getting Jericho a berevement fare back in 96 that was an extra on the ECW DVD until his "couisin" who "died" actually did die and took some people with him. Now its just creepy. A fun local con is that Frankie DeFalco always gets backstage at WWE events since security thinks he's the Brooklyn Brawler.
  12. Is this the same incident that led to theier no-compete clauses being waved?
  13. I know somebody who fell for that! Man, was he pissed. Awesome! Details please. Slip & Fall: According to Buddy Wayne on today's Figure Four Daily, Roddy Piper & Buddy Rose once made a trip to a grocery store where one of them "accidentally" knocked a jar of mayonnaise on the floor and the other would "accidentally" slip on it, falling face-first into the broken glass while gigging various parts of his body. Yeah, that was a good story and a great F4D. I heard a similar story (maybe on the Raven/Sandman shoot) about Bill Alphonzo breaking his arm at an ECW event, then going to a nearby WAWA, pulling a bunch of cans off a shelf on top of himself, crumpling to the floor in agonizing "pain" and making them call for an ambulance so they'd have to pay for his hospital visit.
  14. Dusty conned Jim Crockett into doing these? I thought Crockett did these on his own. You're right about the corporate jet (since guys were flying in that territory back in the 70's that was most likely the next logical step) but I believe I read in Sex, Lies and Headlocks that Dusty convinced Crockett Jr. (tho it may not have taken much) to move the operation from N.C. to the building in Dallas since he owned a home there. Am I remembering this wrong? I gotta dig up that book. I'm pretty sure that the Dallas move was a result of buying the UWF, which was headquartered in Dallas after it expanded. Yeah, it did. I just forgot to include that. It probably wasn't all Dusty's conning them to move there in hindsight as I believe Crockett Jr still lives in the area. Last I saw he was in the real estate industry.

  16. I think that goes for the entire industry where the only people who will actually be honest are those who know they're never going back, are too hurt or old to be in the business anymore, or have already burned their bridge and might as well pour some more gas on the fire. And then there's those who will say anything because the net just loves their "in your face honesty."
  17. Dusty cons Jim Crockett right out of business I can't believe we've gone this far without the Dream making an appearance. Dusty gets into JCP and immediately pushes Steamboat out of the company so there's no competition for the #1 babyface, uses the Dusty finish at Starrcade 85, attaches himself to whatever hot act comes through the territory (RnR Express, Road Warriors, Sting), makes all of the heels talk about himself in their interviews no matter who they're feuding with at the time, becomes the pied piper of the face side (gotta love the Jimmy Garvin incident), pushes himself in the main events despite his increasing size, Dusty finishes in every town multiple times, burying all the UWF talent, the corporate jet, the office in Dallas, the Bunkhouse Stampede in the Meadowlands, his spite pretty much breaking up the original Horsemen, and finally wanting to put the title on Rick Steiner just to show that he could before TBS finally took over and gave him the boot. I'm sure there's more I'm leaving out plus his cons in getting back into WCW, letting Flair walk with the belt, his booking tenure in TNA where he was surrounded by hot chicks, and back to the WWE. God bless Dusty.
  18. I want to read about his "confrontation" with Undertaker just to see how he puts himself over without burying UT one single bit. Plus, how could he be his own harshest critic and at the same time call last year's comeback triumphant.
  19. There's a great Raven-Dreamer match from ECW TV (spring 95) from one of their Florida shows that most people probably haven't seen. I can find out exactly when it was if you'd like. As for me, I'd love to see newly heeled Barry Windham vs face Lex Luger from the summer of 88 if any of those matches ever made tape (I remember seeing a pic in PWI years ago but that's it) or Barry's US title tournament final win over Nikita if that exists. Something that I know exists that would be cool is Nikita's face turn with Dusty against Ole and JJ Dillon in a cage match. Awesome shit that should've made the Horsemen or Dusty DVD at least in clip form but didn't for some reason.
  20. Exactly. Lance Storm was on Figure 4 Daily last week and he told of Cena not only publicly saying he's never done anabolic steroids but also telling fellow wrestlers the same. But he always makes sure to say he's never done anabolic steroids which leaves him tons of wiggle room.
  21. To be fair, 5'6 or 5'7 isn't any more ridiculous than saying he's 5'1.
  22. I don't think he's that short, Phil. I've stood next to him on a few occasions and he's a legit 5'6 or 5'7 (I'm 6'4 BTW). But that is still short for WWE.
  23. This is a great read in light of recent events: http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/h...t.asp?aID=20212
  24. Oh boy: The WWE has issued the following statement concerning the toxicology results on in the Chris Benoit case: WWE understands that the toxicology reports for Chris Benoit indicate that he tested positive for testosterone and negative for anabolic steroids. On Mr. Benoit's last drug test in April 2007 administered by Aegis Labs, he tested negative for anabolic steroids and for testosterone. Given the toxicology report of GBI released today, it would appear that Mr. Benoit took testosterone sometime after his April 2007 test and the time he died. WWE understands that his dealings with Dr. Astin are currently being investigated, and WWE has no knowledge of whether Dr. Astin prescribed testosterone for Mr. Benoit at some point after the April 2007 tests. For over 20 years, the WWE has been demonstrating our concern for the well being of our contracted athletes, instituting drug testing in 1987 leading up to our current Wellness Program which began on February 27, 2006, administered by Dr. David L. Black of Aegis Sciences Corporation - one of the world's foremost drug testing authorities. We believe our Wellness Program is at the very least comparable to those of professional sports and is a program that will benefit WWE Superstars for generations to come.
  25. Does it matter what the toxicology says since the police found anabolic streroids in his house?
