Melina, Nitro, and Mercury. Johnny Nitro and the former Joey Matthews. There were on Smackdown this week and crashed Carlito's Cabana, beating up Rey JR.

Rock was also made a Chief I believe. That's the reason behind the big tatoo on his arm/shoulder.

It does seem that way. He had a so bad it's funny vibe. If only he could wrestle.

I've been enjoying SD! alot more that Raw lately. Raw continues to be the HHH show, while I feel that SD! is more balanced. SD! has more than a few problems with it (Heindreich for one) but at the least it's offering a variety. MNM looks like they'll be an entertaining tag team so hopefully the Tag Division will be reinvigorated on SD! I'm not a fan of John Cena but I think he has a better overall chance to succeed than Batista, if only because he has a few unique spots, while Batista is a typical power wrestler.

He can join RO&D with Jamal in AJPW, he'd be better off their, he'd probably be massively over.

I definetly don't see Victoria lasting much longer either. This is sad news as Molly is terrific as a worker and made all the other women look good.

No comments on Davari beating Shawn? Davari should have been the wrestler with Hassan as his muscle. I was really hoping that Shawn was going to announce Marty as his partner but no such luck. We were having an AIM chat during RAW and right before HHH announced he'd be fighting JR, Alfdogg predicted it.

Rhyno released, Creative Team Member gone as well
MyOwnSummer replied to MyOwnSummer's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Definetly not while he's still alive that's for sure. -
If Matt and Rhyno join NWA:TNA I'll very likely be forec to start watching. I'm shocked that they fired Matt especially for the reasons they did it. His heel gimmick was fantastic and hopefully he'll be successful on the indie circut.

Vince is the living embodyment of why wrestlers need a Union. -

As far as I know Austin didn't "beat" his wife. He pushed her or something like that. That's still horrible and scummy and disgusting but there's a big difference between that and beating her. I might be confused though since there's so many domestic abuse cases with sports stars... -
I'm a little dissapointed that Rhyno's been released because I was a fan of his. My favorite hardcore match in the WWE was his match with Raven in 2001 (IIRC) at a ppv. However he's never really been used to the best of his ability and I remember reading somewhere that Vince didn't like him. His temper tantrum was the last straw but hopefully he can get a good job in TNA or Japan.

I'm pretty sure Austin was willing to put Brock over but that his problem was that when it was proposed to him it was going to happen that night on Raw with no build. Austin wanted it to mean something.

Edit; Seriously though, The only Shawn Micheals Vs HHH match that I would even consider to be a "great" match was Shawn's return match at Summerslam 02(?) and that's based more on sentimental reasons than anything else.

The WWE responds to Brock's Lawsuit
MyOwnSummer replied to MyOwnSummer's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
I'm interested in how the WWE thinks that Brock did them "irreparable harm" by showing up at a New Japan show. The claim they didn't rehire him because he flipped the fans off at Wrestlemania 20 would be humorous if it wasn't so rediculous. -
And on a lighter note;
-
He reminds me of my dad.

I missed the tag match but I got to see the Edge/Benoit match and Austin's segment, So I'm a happy man. I know that Austin is a non-wrestler and it's not helping anyone for him to derail Dean and Maven like that but...I enjoyed it. Austin makes me laugh and entertains me.

I pretty much completely disagree with Dazed's anaylsis of the show. I don't think there was any GREAT matches either but I enjoyed the show as did seemingly the 100 people I watched it with in the theater. Spoilers Eddie/Rey was not good. It was far too short, Rey was distracted by checking his mask, and they seemed to botch a few things. The Ladder match WAS a collection of spots, but if you were expecting anything else you're watching the wrong pseudo-sport. Shelton Benjamin had a great spot in there and Christian was his usual entertaining self. The man who seemed to do the least got the win, but it made sense for him to go over. I didn't mind the Orton/Taker match at all. It wasn't a great match or even a good match but neither man embarresed themselves. Taker going over made sense if Orton is going to be out for a few months. And I personally marked for Bob Orton's run in (with cast). I REALLY liked Piper's Pit. Roddy was priceless countering the "What" chants and Austin was amusing too. Carlito got a big pop in the theater as well. No one is going to remember that Carlito got punked out by Austin and Piper. All they're going to remember is marking. Hassan destroying Eugene and then being destroyed by Hogan wasn't a highlight for me either. Trish/Christy was very bad but they didn't expose the business as bad as has been done in the past. I really enjoyed Angle/Shawn. Did it live up to the hype? Of course not. There was no way it could. But it was a good match and they had all of us on the edge of our seats for almost the entire match and cheering them both on, that's all I can really ask for. Akebono/BigShow was a waste of time I agree. Cena/JBL was very dissapointing. I wanted JBL to stay champ and have Cena take it at SS. Cena winning to me, lessened the impact of Batista winning. HHH's entrance was pretty great. The theater was anti-HHH the whole show but everyone popped for him appearing on stage. The match was completely Inoffensive which was all I expected. Batista got a huge reaction for winning so that's something.

I've been watching a collection of Kenta Kobashi matches fro Pro Wrestling NOAH; Kenta Kobashi vs Akira Taue Kenta Kobashi vs Akitoshi Saito Kenta Kobashi vs THE GLADIATOR Kenta Kobashi vs Minoru Suzuki I'm quickly becoming a big fan of Kobashi, I like his chops and the rest og his moveset (especially the Burning Hammer) he really comes off as a good wrestler to me. I thought The Taue match was pretty good if nothing spectaular. I've onlt seen one other Taue match that I can recall and this was far better. Taue seems like he's in the definete twighlight years of his career. The match with Akitoshi Saito was solid if nothing special. Really the only notable moment in the match for me was when Saito and Kobashi where fighting on the apron and Saito suplexed him off but also into, the frame of the ring. I'm only part way through the match with Mike Awesome, and apart from featuring the first table spot I've seen in NOAH it's once again, nothing spectacular. I've seen some really good Kobashi matches so I'm assuming it's his opponents who aren't up to snuff.

4/1 - Thoughts On The Following Matches

The problem with the Flair Vs Race match was Gene Kiniski as the referee IMHO. He kept ruining the momentum of the match by forcing them apart, and every time they tried to get really phsyical he'd pull them apart. It just slowed the match down horribly for me. -
The worse the show the better. Especially if everyone has been drinking. We get ECCW shows at the Legion here, and the roof's so low they can't really jump off the op rope but it's alot of fun. One time there was a mini riot after about some drunk guys jumped into the ring to go after a wrestler. The entire locker room cleared out. Good times.
