AWA at The Mecca, Milwaukee, September 23rd One-Fall Four-Way Match : Buck Zumhofe vs. Ken Patera vs. Lord Humongous vs. Boris Zukhov Tough draw for Zumhofe. None of his opponents seemed much interested in letting him tag out, just taking turns beating on him and keeping him in the whole time. Zukhov seemed to add a bit of extra snap into the Hammer & Sickle before tagging in Patera, who hit two brutal looking shoulder breakers on Zumhofe. Patera in turn tagged in Humongous who put Buck in the modified cobra clutch to put a mercy kill on the match. All three men made sure to step on the prone form of Zumhofe as they left the ring. The Road Warriors vs. Col. Buck Robley & Maj. Cal Manson The Roadies would have rather had their hands on the Wild Bills but had to satisfy themselves tonight by taking their frustrations out on the leader of the Army and his second in command. They swiftly stormed the ring, tossed Robley to the outside and destroyed Manson with a series of power moves, finishing him off with a double clothesline. The Roadies are clearly gunning for the world tag titles and, if the Wild Bills make it out of tonight with the belts, they had best keep their eyes out for them. Mr. Olympia vs. Tom Stanton Stanton was joined at ringside by his Minnesota Heartbreakers partners, Rocky Brewer and Jeff Sword. In spite of a game effort by Stanton, Olympia caught him coming off the ropes with a powerslam to get the win. Post-match, Brewer and Sword came in the ring to try to get their shots in on the masked man. Olympia was holding his own against both men, but was bushwhacked with a chair to the back by ... "The Continental Lover" Eddie Mansfield? He doesn't even work here! He directed the Heartbreakers to put the boots to Olympia until security ordered them from the ring. Samu vs. Eric Embry This feud has certainly heated up recently and this battle raged back and forth, with both men looking like they could take it at different points. The end came when Samu ducked his head in an attempt at a back body drop, only for Embry to catch him in an over the shoulder neckbreaker. One pildriver later and Embry had gotten the pin. But that was not enough for Embry, who dragged Samu out of the ring and pulled back the ringside mats. In spite of the best efforts of the officials to stop it, Embry hit a brutal piledriver on Samu on the exposed concrete. Samu had to be stretchered out as Embry headed to the locker room, laughing all the way. AWA World Tag Team Title Match : The Wild Bills © vs. The Latin Lovers with special guest referee, Eddie Mekka From the start, there was a lot of outside, err, interest in this match with the Road Warriors, Garvin & Wiskowski and the rest of the Colonel's Army showing up and looking like they were going to make their presence felt in the match. Eddie Mekka let them know he meant business, however, and announced he had been given full authorization to issue suspensions that evening if they didn't depart the ringside area right away. When the extraneous wrestlers had cleared, the match got underway and the underdog Latin Lovers did everything they could to pull off the upset, making use of their speed against the much bigger champs. They kept in up for a while, but then the Bills started to bludgeon them down. At a few points, it looked like they would put Vinnie Valentino down for the count, but he kept finding it in him to kick out. Finally, in frustration, Bill Irwin brought his cowbell and bullrope into the ring and looked to bring the cowbell down hard on Valentino's still bandaged face. Mekka gave him a verbal warning but Irwin ignored it, so Mekka interposed himself between Irwin and the fallen Valentino. That was the last straw for Irwin, who clobbered Mekka with the bullrope. Mekka fell to the ground and quickly signalled for the bell to call the DQ before the Bills started to put the boots to him. Luckily for the Big Ragoo, the Road Warriors and Moose Cholak stormed the ring and drove off the Bills. The Roadies helped Mekka to the back as Moose and Javier Cruz tended to the hurt Valentino. Da Crusher, Ivan Putski & Prof. Toru Tanaka vs. Jimmy Garvin, Ed Wiskowski & Tully Blanchard The big six man that a lot of the crowd had been waiting for, with all men mixing it up and in particular Putski and Wiskowski going after each other. Putski in particular spent a lot of time in the ring, absorbing a lot of punishment from the opposing crew. On a number of occasions it looked like he would be able to tag out, only to get cut off at the last second. The match took a strange turn when who should come to ringside but Blanchard's Texas Dynasty partner, David Von Erich, who yanked Tanaka down to the ground and slammed him hard face first into the ring apron. Crusher came over to help, only to get thrown hard, crashing head first into the ring steps. By this time, Putski finally managed to get clear of his opponents and get to his own corner, only to find nobody there to tag him out. Blanchard and Wiskowski dragged him back to the middle of the ring for more punishment. Crusher was able to recover and went over to try to help out the fallen Tanaka. Putski once again fought his way clear, only to see nobody in his corner and Crusher trying to help up Tanaka, which clearly displease "Polish Power". Crusher was finally able to pull himself up onto the ring apron and reach his arm out for the tag. Putski slugged his way through the opposition and was able to tag in Da Crusher, to the huge cheers of the fans. Crusher came in a house afire with swinging fists on Blanchard, driving him back into his own corner ... only to get blasted with a blindside Polish Hammer by Putski! A disgusted looking Putski pointed at Crusher and Blanchard lackadaisically lay on him with a cocky grin for the pinfall. The crowd howled in outrage at this betrayal as Putski joined Precious, Garvin, Wiskowski and the Texas Dynasty as they left the ring. AWA World Title Match : Hulk Hogan © vs. One Man Gang - one-fall Chain Match, No DQ, No Countout, with Sheikh Kaissie, Ken Patera, Boris Zukhov & Mr. Olympia banned from ringside These two titans finally met in a one on one match and it was as intense match up , pitting One Man Gang's size and ruthlessness against the champ's power and determination. Both men were a bloody mess by the end of the match as they took turns working each over with the chain. One Man Gang seemed close to taking the title but Hogan was clearly not about to let it go while he could still stand. Finally, Gang whipped Hogan hard into the corner, looking to finish him off with an Avalanche, only for Hogan to dodge out of the way at the last second and send Gang crashing into the turnbuckle. As Gang staggered out of the corner, Hogan wrapped the chain around his arm and flattened the big 747 with an Axe Bomber, finally putting him away. Hogan unfastened the chain from his wrist and held is title belt over his head, to the wild cheers of the fans, as One Man Gang argued with the ref that he had given a fast count. When the ref refused to reverse the decision, Gang smashed him in the face with the chain! AWA President Stanley Blackburn, who had clearly had enough at this point, got on the microphone and announced that One Man Gang was immediately suspended from the AWA for 90 days.

AWA All-Star Wrestling for September 23rd Prof. Toru Tanaka vs. Ed Wiskowski Tanaka was followed to the ring by "Polish Power" Ivan Putski, who proceeded to give Wiskowski many significant looks during the match. "The Polish Prince", for his part, clearly took notice of Putski as well , pointing to him every time he had the advantage over Tanaka, as though to indicate "Take a good look at what I am doing to him.You're next." The tide turned when Wiskowski hit a lariat on Tanaka that caused him to collide with the ref, sending the ref sprawling sideways and Tanaka crashing into the corner. Wiskowski pulled out the brass knucks and again pointed this out to Putski, laughing all the time. However, while in the corner, Tanaka reached into his ceremonial salt bucket and threw a fistful of salt at Wiskowski's face, who was just barely able to block it in time. Tanaka jumped on Wiskowski with a flurry of chops, but the ref had recovered just in time to see him throw the salt and disqualified Tanaka. The ref and Putski both had to pull Tanaka off Wiskowski as he kept up the attack after the match was called The Latin Lovers & The Road Warriors vs. The Wild Bills, Lord Humongous & Eric Embry This match was as crazy as you can imagine, with the Road Warriors trying to go after the Wild Bills and the Army doing everything they can to work over Vinnie Valentino, who was still showing the effects of his beatdown at the hands of Jimmy Garvin from a few weeks ago. Embry was particularly vicious in his attack on Valentino, setting him up in the corner and climbing the second turnbuckle, indicating he was going to drop the knee on Valentino's still bandaged face. The provoked Samu to run in from the back and attack Embry , once again forcing the ref to call for a DQ. Buck Robley and Cal Manson jumped into the ring , prompting Moose Cholak to join in on the fun, and the result was a chaotic brawl between both sides that took several officials to clear up. AWA American Title Match : Jimmy Garvin © vs. Da Crusher Garvin clearly wanted no part of Crusher, doing everything he could to avoid locking up with him and pulling out every sneaky trick he could think of to get an advantage when the match was underway. It seemed like Crusher was going to take the American title when he had Garvin lined up for a running Bolo Punch, but Precious grabbed his ankle from outside, catching him in the corner. When the distracted Crusher turned to face Precious, Garvin got him in a roll up with a fistfull of trunks for the quick dirty win. When the outraged Crusher got into it with Garvin after the match, both Ed Wiskowski and Toru Tanaka charged the ring, leading to yet another pull apart brawl. After that was cleared up by the AWA officials, a clearly infuriated AWA President Stanley Blackburn got on the ringside microphone and announced that if there were any more outside interference for the rest of the show, it would result in immediate suspensions and a hefty fine. One Man Gang vs. Mr. Olympia The popular masked man put forth a valiant effort against the big 747, throwing everything in his arsenal at him to knock him off his feet. It seemed he might just pull it off with a flying cross body block, only for One Man Gang to catch him and drive him to the mat with a brutal power slam. One running splash later, and that was all she wrote. One Man Gang looks unstoppable going into his World Title match with Hulk Hogan. AWA World Heavyweight Title Match : Hulk Hogan © vs. Boris Zukhov Hogan, for this match at least, was free of the distractions of the rest of the Sheikh's men, and proceeded to dominate the Russian Menace. Zukhov seemed like he might get the advantage and set up the Hammer & Sickle when he whipped Hogan hard into the turnbuckle, only for Hulk to come roaring out of the blocks with a mighty Axe Bomber that knocked Zukhov off his feet. He followed up with the Big Leg Drop to succesfully defend his title. He scored a convincing victory over Zukhov, but the One Man Gang will be a whole other matter.

AWA from the Auditorium Arena, Denver, September 16th The Minnesota Heartbreakers (Jeff Sword & Rocky Brewer) vs. Mike Vachon & Great Malumba The Minnesota Heartbreakers won after Brewer hit a power slam on Vachon Lord Humongous vs. Bill Cody Lord Humongous won with a modified cobra clutch Samu vs. Eric Embry Both men went to a double count out brawling outside the ring after 23 minutes of action Da Crusher & Prof. Toru Tanaka vs. Jimmy Garvin & Ed Wiskowski Garvin & Wiskowski won after Wiskowski hit the face first piledriver on Tanaka Wild Bills & Maj. Cal Manson vs. The Road Warriors & Moose Cholak The Road Warriors & Cholak won after Cholak got the Big Splash on Manson. Both teams continued slugging it out long after the bell Hulk Hogan, Mr. Olympia & Iceman Parsons vs. One Man Gang, Ken Patera & Boris Zukhov Hogan, Olympia & Parsons after an Axe Bomber by Hogan on Zukhov

AWA All-Star Wrestling for September 16th Samu vs. Col. Buck Robley A rare case of the Colonel getting his own hands dirty with Army business. The wily veteran was accompanied by Eric Embry and gave Samu quite a fight, looking like he might just pull of the victory on a number of occasions. The day belonged to the popular Samoan, however, who was able to hit the Flying Splash for the one two three. After the match, it looked like the “Flamboyant” one might just charge in and attack him, but the two men just stared each other down before heading back to the locker room. Sheikh Adnan Kaissie vs. Buck Zumhofe The Sheikh was accompanied by Boris Zukhov and Ken Patera. While the ref was arguing with Kaissie and Patera to get the Olympic strong man out of the ring, Zukhov blasted Buck in the back of the head with a chain assisted lariat. When the ref turned around, he was surprised to see Zumhofe laid out on the mat but decided not to investigate too closely. Kaissie locked the unconscious Zumhofe in the Camel Clutch and the ref dropped Buck’s arm three times to count him out. Prof. Toru Tanaka vs. Bill Rathke The Professor has been on a roll since moving over to the side of the angels and seemed to enjoy the cheers of the crowd as he took it to Big Bill, trapping him in an Oriental Sleeper for the win. Ed Wiskowsky & Jimmy Garvin vs. Da Crusher & Ivan Putski Crusher and Putski were led to the ring by Toru Tanaka, while the Prince and Gorgeous Jimmy were led by Precious. This was as wild as you might imagine, with Crusher looking like he was going to take out Garvin with the Bolo Punch, only for Precious to take advantage of a ref distraction and spray Crusher in the eyes with the aerosol can. Garvin then hit Crusher with the DDT to get the underhanded win. While Tanaka tried to help his downed friend, Putski and Wiskowski actually bumped chests in the ring but were separated by the officials before they actually threw down with each other. “Wild” Bill Irwin vs. Javier Cruz Irwin was joined by his championship partner Billy Jack while Cruz was joined by Vinnie Valentino, making his return to AWA TV with his face still heavily bandaged but his effusive personality undimmed by the brutal attack from Jimmy Garvin. Cruz put in an heroic effort fighting from underneath his much bigger opponent, jabbing and moving and trying to stay a step ahead of Irwin. He was eventually caught by Wild Bill, though, who proceeded to beat him down. The match took a turn, though, when the Road Warriors and Moose Cholak came to ringside to, err, observe the match. Irwin was distracted enough to stop and jaw with the Roadies, only for Cruz to take advantage with a schoolboy roll up and get a quick pin. The Wild Bills went crazy while the Latin Lovers and the fans were jubilant. The Lovers now have the momentum going in to their title match in Milwaukee. We will see if it can carry them to a victory for the belts. Hulk Hogan & Mr. Olympia vs. One Man Gang & Ken Patera As ferocious a match as you can imagine, with Gang and Patera doing everything they can to do as much damage as possible to Hogan and soften him up for the upcoming World Title match. Hogan was finally able to tag in Olympia, who was the proverbial house afire as he took on both men by himself. It looked like he might just beat the odds, but it came to an end when he ran into a Patera power slam, followed by a running splash by the Gang to end the match. After the finish, Gang pointed to Olympia and then Hogan, shouting out, “You’re next!”

It is a bittersweet moment for the AWA that we announce the retirement of Verne Gagne from the everyday operations of the American Wrestling Association. He will be enjoying his retirement in a sunny clime, sipping tall drinks and pinching the waitresses' bottoms while complaining about the poor quality of service. OOC : Even though I could somewhat see this coming when the draft and trades were downplayed, doesn't make that less of a sad moment for me. CFCW, you put together a hell of a roster for me and your many creative contributions were brilliant. Thanks for all that you have done in making the AWA what it is today.

Would have loved to have seen that Birmingham main. The Studs Stable are a flock of dirty birdies and I hope they get what they have coming to them.

AWA All Star Wrestling for September 9th Samu & Iceman Parsons vs. Eric Embry & Maj. Cal Manson A fast paced match but the main action was between Embry and Samu, whose tempers exploded whenever they were in the ring at the same time. Ultimately, it was Parsons who got the pin over Manson with the Rumper Stumper, but Samu and Embry continued to slug it out long after the end of the match. Interview with the Road Warriors & Moose Cholak Mean Gene greeted the Warriors and commented on their change of attitude regarding the veteran wrestlers of the AWA, at least as regards Moose Cholak. Hawk admitted that they had let their mouth run ahead of them and they were still confident in themselves, but after all they had been through with Buck Robley’s Army, it was certainly good to have friends. Animal added that they couldn’t have asked for a better friend to watch their back than the big Moose. Mean Gene asked Moose why he was willing to team with the Warriors, given their past comments and the attitude of the rest of the AWA locker room to them. Moose replied that he wasn’t around when they made those comments and didn’t care, as far as he was concerned, they helped him when he needed it and that was something he would never forget. He had their backs and they had his, and they wouldn’t stop until they had taken down the Wild Bills and the entire Army Ed Wiskowski vs. Da Crusher A straightforward slugfest that ended when Wiskowski pulled out a set of brass knucks and hit Crusher with them, leading to a DQ. Ivan Putski rushed to the ring and got in Wiskowski’s face, but the Polish Prince just turned his back and stalked back to the locker room. Mr. Olympia vs. Jeff Sword Sword gave Olympia quite the fight, but ultimately got blindsided with one of Olympia’s high impact dropkicks and was pinned. Once again, Sword’s partners, Tom Stanton and Rocky Brewer, charged the ring and attacked Olympia, but he was able to fight them off. Mr. Olympia just can’t seem to get the Minnesota Heartbreakers out of his hair, errr, mask. Interview with Jimmy Garvin from the AWA studios. Garvin is accompanied by the same blonde woman he was with at the last TV show Gene : Jimmy Garvin, last week on All Star Wrestling, you put an hellacious beating on Vinnie Valentino, you looked like you were going to break every bone in his face. That was uncalled for! Garvin : Uncalled for ? UNCALLED FOR? Valentino just couldn’t stop sticking his nose in my business, couldn’t keep to his own side. Yeah, I like women and women like me. I make no bones about it. But this one … (wrapping a protective arm around the blonde woman) this one is Precious to me. You tried to put your hands on her. Well, you sure ain’t going to be trying that again, pally. And if you do … well, what you got last week is nothing compared to what I am going to do to you. Gene : At the next big show in Milwaukee, you have a 6 man tag match with Da Crusher, Ivan Putski and Prof. Toru Tanaka. You and Ed Wiskowski have not, as yet, announced who your partner will be. Garvin : Oh, believe me, Mean Gene, we have that well taken care of. In fact, I made a call to an old friend and this is what she had to say. Cut to a video of Southwest Wrestling star Sunshine Sunshine : Heeeyyyy, Jimmy. Nice to see you have found someone to keep you warm on those cold Minnesota nights. Got your message and I know just the guy to help you out. One half of the Texas Dynasty, my main man, Tully Blanchard. Blanchard : Jimmy, Sunshine explained everything to me and I’ve got you covered. It will be my pleasure to come up and help you whip those old fossils and teach them not to stick their nose in other people’s business. You , me and the Prince will show those Minnesota hicks what real class looks like. Animal vs. Billy Jack Once again, both men had their partners and allies surrounding the ring which led to a pretty chaotic match. Animal looked like he was set to finish Billy Jack off with a running power slam, but Bill Irwin reached in and snagged his leg, causing Billy Jack to fall on top of Animal and get the dirty pinfall. Needless to say, both sides charged the ring and the Warriors and Moose slugged it out with the Army until the officials cleared the ring. Hulk Hogan vs. Ken Patera (non-title match) Their usual intense match came to the inevitable conclusion of One Man Gang entering the ring and attacking Hogan with the chain. They tried to double clothesline Hogan with the chain, only for him to drop all of his weight down on the chain , causing them to crash into each other. After the DQ was called, it was announced that, at the upcoming show in Milwaukee, not only would the title match be no Countout, no DQ, with Mr. Olympia, Ken Patera, Sheikh Kaissie and Boris Zukhov all banned from ringside, but it would be a chain match to a single pinfall.

I am still in, hope to make some headway by the end of this weekend.

Wasn't there a WCW Hall Of Fame and they made inductions around Slamboree time? I seem to recall Tommy Young going into that.

After the match, Zukhov hit the Hammer & Sickle again on Zumhofe assisted by a chain Mr. Olympia vs. Rocky Brewer Olympia won with the Sleeper Hold Ivan Putski vs Ed Wiskowski Putski won with a quick pin after the Polish Hammer. After the match, the two continued brawling until the AWA officials separated them Iceman Parsons & Samu vs. Col. AWA All Star Wrestling for the Weekend of Sept 2 Billy Jack vs. Buck Zumhofe Zumhofe was actually able to hold his own for most of this … no, just kidding, Billy Jack pretty much destroyed him from bell to bell before polishing him off with a full nelson he held on until long after the ref had called the match. Eric Embry vs. Iceman Parsons A wild match that went back and forth and only ended when Embry hit the over the shoulder neckbreaker on the outside. He could have gotten back in the ring to beat the count out, but, determined to do lasting damage on Parsons, he pulled back the matt and set him up for a piledriver on the concrete. This prompted Samu to rush out and attack Embry in order to save his friend. The ref ended up declaring a double DQ. Lord Humongous vs. Bill Rathke The huge masked man made short work of Rathke, knocking him down with a big lariat before putting him in the modified Cobra Clutch to get the submission. Mr. Olympia vs. Tom Stanton Olympia really got the crowd going with his technical expertise as he easily dominated Stanton before sinking in the Sleeper for the win. After the match, Stanton’s partners in the Minnesota Heartbreakers, Jeff Sword and Rocky Brewer, entered the ring to try to attack Olympia but he sent them flying out of the ring with dropkicks. Hulk Hogan, Da Crusher & Ivan Putski vs. One Man Gang, Ken Patera & Boris Zukhov Hogan, Crusher and Putski were accompanied to the ring by Prof. Toru Tanaka, while their opponents were led by Sheikh Adnan Kaissie. As you can imagine, this was a crazy match, with the Sheikh’s men trying to isolate the World Champion and his two partners came in when they could to back him up. The match took a turn for the chaotic when Crusher manager to tag into the ring and who should come to ringside but Ed Wiskowski, who yanked Putski off the apron and slugged him with a set of brass knuckles. When Tanaka came over to try to help out, he got a face full of knuckles himself for his troubles. When Crusher was distracted by this, Patera and Zuckov took advantage and hit him with a chain assisted double clothesline and got a quick pin. The villains looked to capitalize and administer more punishment after the bell but Hogan ran them out of the ring. Crusher helped the still dazed Tanaka to the back but Putski refused all assistance and insisted on going to the back under his own strength. After the commercial break, the camera comes up on Mean Gene Okerlund in the ring. Joining him are “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin, “The Polish Prince” Ed Wiskowski, and an array of scantily clad women. Garvin is holding up the AWA Light Heavyweight title belt and has a cocky look on his face, Wiskowski has his face in a ferocious scowl, and both are soaking up the boos of the crowd. Mean Gene : Folks, my guests are Jimmy Garvin and Ed Wiskowski. Wiskowski, why on earth would you attack Ivan Putski out of nowhere like that? What has he ever done to you? Wiskowski : (grabbing the mic from Mean Gene) Why? You want to know why? Putski, you are a disgrace! You are an embarrassment to the nation of Poland! You are supposed to be a representative of the pure Polish blood, the same blood we share … but instead, you associate with a drunken stumblebum and that Oriental traitor! Well, I am going to make you see the light and realize your potential if I have to knock your brains out to do it! Mean Gene : (taking the mic back) Jimmy Garvin, you won the AWA Light Heavyweight title, but so far you have defended it against hardly anyone. Garvin : Hey, it’s part of the rules of this title that my opponents have to be within certain weight guidelines. You can’t blame me if people can’t meet them. They are probably gorging themselves because they are afraid of facing me, the greatest champ … Gavin gets cut off by the sound of the theme song to Laverne & Shirley , of all things. TV’s Eddie Mekka, carrying a large briefcase, makes his way to the ring, carrying a large briefcase. Mekka : Evening, folks. I’m here with a special message from the AWA board of governors. In recognition of the sterling work you have done defending your title against, well, pretty much nobody, they are officially dissolving the AWA Light Heavyweight Title. Garvin : What? You can’t …! Mekka : Relax, relax, it’s a promotion! They aren’t going to take it away without giving something in return. So they are taking the belt … (plucking the title belt from his hands) and giving you this … (opens up the briefcase and takes out a flash new title belt) naming you the first ever AWA American Champ! Garvin : Wow! Now this is a belt fit for a champion, namely me! Mekka : That’s right! This belt has gold plating … Garvin : Of course! Mekka : … a jewel studded frontpiece … Garvin : Naturally! Mekka : … and an open weight class! Garvin : Yes! Wait, what? Mekka : That’s right, the American title has no weight limit, so you can look forward to showing off your abilities against all of the competition in the AWA! Enjoy! (leaves the ring) Garvin: This is unfair! Totally unfair! It’s not my fault that Iceman Parsons can’t keep away from the buffet table! I’m going to call my lawyer and … oh, what now? This time he is cut off by the sound of “Shake Your Booty” by KC and the Sunshine Band while Vinnie Valentino and several Bootie Babes come to the ring. Valentino : Hey, cool out, Garvin, I come in peace. I get the impression that you and I have started out on the wrong foot , so I am hoping to start fresh tonight. There is more than enough room in the AWA and plenty of beautiful women for two handsome devils like yourself and myself. I know any of the luscious Bootie Babes would love to party with the “Gorgeous” one, and I’ll bet a few of your lovelies would like to spend time with the Vin Man. I’ve caught that sassy blonde number their giving me the eye. (The blonde woman in question immediately hides behind Jimmy Garvin.) Now now, no need to be shy. Howsabout you give Big Vinnie here a little kiss, huh? The blonde woman is clearly taken aback and Garvin looks for a moment like he is about to explode, but he gathers his composure, pulls her close, strokes the back of her head, whispers something in her ear and nods. The woman nods back at him and walks over to Valentino. Valentino grins and then puckers up his lips for a kiss … only for the woman to pull out an aerosol can and spray something in his eyes! Garvin then grabs the blinded Valentino and hits him with a DDT. Clearly not satisfied with that, he goes out of the ring, grabs a folded chair and DDTs him on the chair as well. Javier Cruz rushes to the ring to try and save his partner but gets intercepted by Wiskowski. Garvin then lays out Valentino with his face down on top of the chair and starts to climb the turnbuckles, indicating that he was going to drop the knee on the back of the Latin Lover’s head. He was looking to pulverize Valentino’s face! Luckily for Vinnie, Ivan Putski and Da Crusher charged the ring, tore through Wiskowski and sent Garvin flying from the ring. Valentino had to be taken out with a stretcher, but it could have been a whole lot worse for him. "Wild" Bill Irwin vs. Road Warrior Hawk Irwin arrived with his partner, Billy Jack, as well as Col. Buck Robley and Maj. Cal Manson in tow. Hawk arrived backed up by his partner, Animal … and also big Moose Cholak! The Army were clearly not expecting the Warriors to have anyone to help them out. As the battle raged in the ring, the Army’s attempts to interfere were consistently stymied by Animal and Moose. In desperation, Irwin tried to hit Hawk with the cowbell, but Hawk ducked and came back with a big flying clothesline to get the pin. Post-match, the Army looked like they were going to rush the ring, but seeing The Road Warriors and Cholak standing back to back in the ring, ready for them, caused them to choose discretion and head instead for the back. Looks like the Road Warriors have learned some respect for at least some of their fellow wrestlers.

Interesting you should mention that, there is something coming on the horizon that will cause their mutual sphere to overlap, but that will come in time.

Eric Embry vs. Buck Zumhofe Embry beat Zumhofe after an over the shoulder neckbreaker followed by three piledrivers. "Polish Power" Ivan Putski vs. "The Polish Prince" Ed Wiskowski Wiskowski beat Putski after hitting him with a set of brass knuckles when the ref’s back was turned AWA World Tag Title Match : The Wild Bills © vs. Iceman Parsons & Samu Parsons and Samu won by DQ when Embry entered the ring and attacked Samu Jimmy Garvin vs. Vinnie Valentino Garvin won when he hit Valentino with a DDT after Valentino was distracted by Garvin’s ringside escorts Four Corners Match for the first AWA Canadian title : Da Crusher vs. Sheikh Adnan Kaissie vs. Rick Martel vs. Boris Zukhov Kaissie was the first eliminated after being hit by a Bolo Punch by Crusher. Zukhov was next , via a flying cross body by Martel. Crusher and Martel then engaged in an energetic, high impact bout that ended when Crusher went for a power slam on Martel, only for Martel to hook his leg and get the pinfall with a small package, making him the first ever AWA Canadian Champ. Crusher shook his hand afterwards and put the belt on Martel himself. AWA World Title Match : Hulk Hogan © vs. Ken Patera Hogan won by countout after hitting Patera with a lariat when Patera was on the ring apron.
