Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, July 11th Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Chris Candido © vs. Norman Smiley Candido won the match by hitting a flying legdrop on Smiley. Scott Hall & Tom Magee vs. "Mean" Mike Miller & Stan Hansen Gator and the Megaman did their best against the veterans from the Crazy Gang, but Miller and Hansen were out for blood, and Hansen put down Hall with a crushing lariat. Nick Busick vs. Jack Victory The Man from Powerhouse Hill was able to score the three count over "Hollywood" Jack after catching him in a Spinebuster Slam Barry Windham & Ron Simmons vs. The Vice Squad (Jimmy Del Ray & Randy Rose) After what had happened earlier in the show, Windham and Simmons were out to avenge their Brigade brothers. The cunning of the Vice Squad kept them out of their clutches for a while, but eventually Windham and Simmons caught up with them, and scored a convincing victory with a flying double tackle on Del Ray Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Hart Foundation © vs. Keiichi Yamada & Hiroshi Hase The Hart Foundation won by DQ after Badd Company , seeking revenge for the night before, raced out to the ring to attack them. Brian Pillman & Owen Hart vs. Bob Orton & Joel Deaton Pillman brought his Snowbirds partner Owen Hart into his feud with Bob Orton. Pillman got the win by pinning Deaton with a slingshot sunset flip California Title Match : Tracy Smothers © vs. Vic Steamboat After several impressive recent outings, the younger Steamboat brother earned himself a shot at Smothers' California Title, and he certainly was looking to make the most of it. Smothers was on the defensive for much of this match, and after a long battle, went to underhanded tactics to defend his title. As Steamboat was working over his leg, Smothers grabbled a fistful of tights to get a roll up and hold him down for the one two three.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on ESPN / TSN Pacific Super Cards, July 10th Brickhouse Brown, Scott Hall & Tom Magee vs. Chavo, Mando & Hector Guerrero The younger members of the Brigade had a long, intense struggle against the veteran Guerreros, and it looked like it would go to the full 20 minute time limit draw. But within the last 30 seconds of the time limit, Hall was able to catch Hector with the Gator Breaker (fallaway slam) and score a hard fought pinfall. The Masked Avenger vs. Big Bubba Rogers The Avenger had changed up his gear somewhat for this match, going from all red gear and mask to red gear with black trim. These two big mastodons dropped some heavy bombs on each other, with neither man looking like they were going to give in. But little by little, it looked like the masked man started to chip away at Big Bubba. Too much so for Jim Cornette, who took advantage of the ref being knocked down to enter the ring and slug the Avenger across the back with his tennis racquet. It seemed to have all the impact of a mosquito bit on the Avenger, who whirled around and grabbed Cornette by the throat. Cornette sputtered and panicked for a bit, but soon the Midnight Express charged in to his rescue, and all of his men ganged up on the Avenger. Luckily for the Avenger, Leo Burke and Black Gold charged into the ring and scattered the Express to the four winds. Dan Severn & Jeff Jarrett vs. The Vice Squad (Jimmy Del Ray & Randy Rose) PCW's oddest couple had a tough battle against the former Pacific Tag Champs, but Jarrett countered an attempted DDT by Rose with an inside cradle and held him down for the one two three. Severn rushed into the ring and he and Jarrett celebrated their biggest victory yet as the fans cheered. Pacific Television Title Match : Bam Bam Bigelow © vs. Chris Adams Another war between these two heated rivals which Adams won by countout after he was able to Superkick Bigelow off the ring apron. Eddie Gilbert & Vic Steamboat vs. The Great Muta & Mr. Hito A furious encounter where Gilbert and Muta beat each other bloody throughout the match. It wound up coming down to Steamboat hitting a flying cross body press to pin Hito. Gilbert and Muta kept going at it long after the end of the match, with their partners and managers having to pull them away from each other. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. Badd Company Badd Company gave the champs a run for their money, but when the Hart Foundation came down to ringside, they tripped Tanaka coming off the ropes, and the Express capitalized with a double clothesline for the ill gotten win. 10 Man Tag Team Match : Jim Duggan, Dave Taylor, Tony St. Clair & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Buddy Rose, Ed Wiskowski, David Finlay & The Dog Pound (Rick Steiner & Brian Knobbs) As one might imagine, this was a crazy match, with Finlay and St. Clair going after each other any chance they got. It was Duggan who got the pinfall after hitting the Three Point Clothesline on Knobbs, but you just know he would have preferred to get it on Buddy Rose.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN , July 9th Norman Smiley vs. Brian Adams With his Thundercats partner Too Cold Scorpio temporarily out of action, Norman Smiley has faced an uphill struggle in his past few matches. This was particularly evident when he faced the "American Ninja" Brian Adams. Adams towered over Smiley, and was on his own quest to justify his place in Gary Hart's organization. Adams consistently overpowered Smiley and, although he did his best, Smiley just could not put a dent in Gary Hart's bodyguard. Adams hit the spinning backbreaker and got the one two three. But that was not enough for the man from Hawaii, and Adams kept tormenting Smiley by trapping him in an agonizing over the shoulder hangman. It looked like he could do some serious damage to Smiley, but Mike Rotunda charged out from the locker room to the rescue. He got Smiley out of the hold and started to throw down with Adams, who returned fire until Gary Hart ordered him out of the ring. He still continued shouting at Rotunda, and one could tell that these two were not done with each other. Badd Company vs. Iron & Steel (Larry Cameron & Tony Atlas) This match never got off the ground, as Iron & Steel were attacked by two men on the way to the ring. Once the cameras were able to focus on what was going on, it was revealed to be the Wild Bulls, who had not been seen since they lost the Pacific Tag Team Titles to the Midnight Express. Initially , a cheer went up at their return as the Gantner Brothers tore into Cameron and Atlas with a vengeance. But as their attack went on, the fans started to pale at the savage pummeling. Ed and Rick Gantner battered Fire & Steel with chairs until Cameron and Atlas were a bloody mess, and it fell to Badd Company to grab some chairs of their own to bail them out. Cameron and Atlas had to be helped to the back, and while the Bullpen were overjoyed at the return of their heroes, the rest of the fans weren't sure what to make of their violent tactics. Dave Taylor & ?? ?? vs. Ed Wiskowski & David Finlay After Steve Wright was taken out on a stretcher at a recent show, all eyes were on Dave Taylor and what he would do to fill the hole in his ranks. The fans got their answer when "We Don't Need Another Hero" by Tina Turner played over the arena PA and "Tough" Tony St. Clair came out to the ring. The English veteran was coming off a very strong run in the AWA and fans were eager to see what he could do in PCW. He and Taylor went together like bacon and eggs, with St. Clair showing considerable technical expertise while refusing to back down a single inch to the Playboy Club. That said, Wiskowski and Finlay just kept firing at them, and St. Clair was just barely able to hit the Floating Butterfly Suplex on Finlay and keep his shoulders to the mat for the three count. The English contingent have certainly regrouped with a vengeance and the Playboy Club had best keep an eye out for them. Keiichi Yamada vs. "Mean" Mike Miller "Mean" Mike Miller has been especially ornery of late, with the leader of the Crazy Gang engaging in some knock down, drag out fights with Barry Windham. This time out, he was facing the young Japanese sensation Keiichi Yamada, and in spite of Yamada's considerable technical skills, Miller kept trying to drag the match down into the gutter. Miller would always go into his bag of dirty tricks, no matter what the circumstances. When Yamada looked to have Miller lined up for the Brainbuster, only for Miller to block it with a nasty low blow knee shot. Miller followed up with an over the shoulder neck breaker and got the pinfall. Not a victory to be proud of, but Miller probably doesn't care. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are a group of wrestlers who seem to be heading for big things … the Five Man Army! The fans cheer as Leo Burke, Bam Bam Bigelow, Nick Busick, Steve Blackman and Shane Douglas head out to the ring. Contrary to their normally friendly dispositions, their expressions are uncharacteristically sober. Bonnema : Leo Burke, you have been working a lot with the mysterious wrestler known only as the Masked Avenger. Could the Five Man Army soon be a Six Man Army? Burke : Now that is an interesting question , Frank Bonnema. Yes, the Masked Avenger has helped me out against Jim Cornette's crew, and his help has been greatly apprecated. But some of the rest of the Army haven't been as appreciative of him. Douglas : It's not that we haven't been appreciative, Leo. But I just don't know what to make of him. He's been your friend, but he has made no effort to be our friend. We've teamed up with him, but he hasn't wanted to have anything to do with us. Bigelow : I'm with Shane on this. He just shows up out of nowhere, and we are all supposed to just trust him? I mean, what do we really know about this guy, anyway? Burke : Now listen! He has done nothing but be a good friend to me and has saved me on a number of occasions. I don't care what you think of him, I am grateful for all he has done for me. So I will keep on working with him, and that is final! On that awkward note, the members of the Five Man Army keep staring at each other as the show cuts to commercial. Vic Steamboat vs. The Great Muta Not much has been seen from the Great Muta since his return to PCW, but his hatred of the members of Missy Hyatt International continues unabated. He was all over young Steamboat, who fought back valiantly but struggled against Muta's furious attack. But things got even wilder when Eddie Gilbert stormed to the ring and attacked Muta. As the ref called for the DQ, Gilbert and Muta went at it fist and fire, and anyone who tried to separate them just got a punch to the face or a kick to the stomach for their troubles. It took a full complement of PCW security to keep the two apart, but these two are headed for a major explosion sooner or later. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Buddy Rose © vs. Robbie Brookside After all the shenanigans that have gone on tonight, the ref started the match by ordering the rest of the Playboy Club as well as Brookside's allies back to the locker room. With the distractions being removed from the match, the fans were treated to a classic showdown of Brookside's youth and athleticism against Rose's experience and cunning. Brookside has pulled off some impressive upsets lately, and the fans rallied behind him, cheering on every time he got a near fall on the champ. In the end, Rose showed the benefit of his finely honed instincts as he caught Brookside in an attempted running cross body and hit an over the knee backbreaker. He followed up with a running splash for the win. Rose was still the champ, but Brookside impressed many with his efforts.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, July 4th Brickhouse Brown vs. Todd Morton After a few tough losses, Brickhouse came roaring back in a fast paced match where he pinned Todd Morton after a swinging neckbreaker. Norman Smiley vs. Jack Victory After his partner Too Cold Scorpio was taken out a few weeks ago with a brutal piledriver, Smiley struggled in singles action against the muscle of the Hollywood Knights. "Hollywood" Jack ended up scoring the, err, victory with the Victory-Plex. Dan Severn vs. Mr. Hito These two skilled warriors kept the crowd spellbound with a technical showdown where Severn was ultimately able to get Hito to give up to a Wakigatame armbreaker. Barry Windham & Ron Simmons vs. "Mean" Mike Miller & Stan Hansen A ferocious battle which eventually descended into chaos and the ref declaring a no contest before bolting from the ring as all four men just kept on brawling. Brian Pillman vs. Bob Orton It looked like the Cowboy would get another victory over the former Cincinnati Bengal when he got him up on the top turnbuckle for the Superplex. But Flyin' Brian was able to pivot in mid air and land on top of Orton, scoring the one two three. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Hart Foundation © vs. Keiichi Yamada & Hiroshi Hase The two Japanese members of the Snowbirds put up a hell of a challenge for the Hart Foundation, but the champs were able to prevail when Bret Hart dodged out of the way of Yamada's running palm thrust into the corner, and followed up with a sunset flip to successfully defend their titles. Pacific Television Title Match : Bam Bam Bigelow © vs. Chris Adams In perhaps the biggest grudge match of the night, Adams truly took it to the champion in his quest to win the title. But the Beast From The East found back with unrelenting fury, and won by countout when he hit Adams with a running headbutt when the Englishman was on the ring apron, sending Adams crashing to the outside.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , July 3rd Badd Company vs. The Vice Squad (Jimmy Del Ray & Randy Rose) Pat Tanaka thrust kicked Del Ray into a German Suplex by Paul Diamond to get the win David Taylor & Steve Wright vs. Ed Wiskowski & David Finlay Wiskowski and Finlay brutalized Wright on the outside, with Easy Ed hitting a face first piledriver on the concrete, taking Wright out of the match. Taylor put up an heroic struggle but the numbers disadvantage was too much to overcome, and Finlay hit a belly to belly piledriver to win the match. Wright was taken out on a stretcher. Scott Hall & Tom Magee vs. Mando & Hector Guerrero The Guerreros really took the Gator and Megaman to their limits in a close match but the young members of the Brigade pulled out the win when Magee hit a slingshot legdrop on Hector. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Chris Candido © vs. Jeff Jarrett A fast paced match that ended when Jarrett hit a running cross body press on Candido, only for Candido to reverse it with a rollover and pin Jarrett with his feet on the ropes. Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) & The Masked Avenger vs. The Midnight Express & Big Bubba Rogers Strangely, the Masked Avenger didn't seem to want to have anything to do with Black Gold, coming off as disinterested in tagging in or helping in away way as they battled with the Midnight Express. Once Big Bubba entered the match, however, Masked Avenger became interested, forcing the tag and wading into the match to throw down with the Louisville Slugger. It wound up being Dennis Condrey who was pinned by the masked man with a front slam. After the match, the Masked Avenger quickly walked away from his partners, heading straight to the locker room while Blackman and Douglas celebrated in the ring. California Title Match : Tracy Smothers © vs. Owen Hart Early in the match, "Mr. Hollywood" could clearly tell that Owen meant business and got scared. He wound up summoning the rest of the Hollywood Knights, Jack Victory and the Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido and Todd Morton) to ringside for the rest of the match. Ultimately, when Owen had Smothers in the corner for a monkey flip, the Blondes distracted the ref while Victory interfered and drove Owen throat first onto the top rope. When the ref turned around, Smothers was covering Owen and got the one two three. A dirty victory, but how long can Smothers keep this up against young Owen? Jim Duggan & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Buddy Rose & The Dog Pound (Brian Knobbs & Rick Steiner) This was a wild struggle with Rose doing everything he could to avoid facing Jim Duggan. It wound up being Brian Knobbs who faced the brunt of Duggan's wrath, taking the three point clothesline to given Hacksaw's team the victory.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, July 2nd The Masked Avenger vs. Randy Rose Recently in Portland, the masked man faced off with Jimmy Del Ray, and tonight he would face the other half of the Vice Squad. "Ravishing" Randy was clearly reluctant to lock up with the leviathan, stalling for as long as he could, but eventually the Avenger got his hands on him and tossed him across the ring like a bag of dirty laundry. Rose tried to stick and move with the Avenger, but nothing he did seemed to make a dent, and when the Avenger hit him, it landed like a falling anvil. It looked like the Avenger had the match when he crushed Rose with a front slam, but just as the ref went over to make the count, Big Bubba Rogers came charging into the ring, with the Midnight Express in tow, and Cornette's Men attacked the Avenger as the ref called for the DQ. While the Avenger was usually more than a match for any challenge he faced, but 3 on 1 was too much for even him, and it looked like Bubba and the Express would do some serious damage. Lucky for him, Leo Burke rushed out to the ring, swinging a chair and scattering Cornette's Men to the wind. Burke helped up the Avenger , who stared at him for a few seconds before offering his hand. The two men shook hands as the crowd cheered. Ron Simmons vs. Tony Atlas This match would be a battle between two of the strongest men in PCW. Ron Simmons is currently embroiled in a feud with Stan Hansen, while Atlas is focusing on tag team action with his Iron & Steel partner Larry Cameron. Regardless, both were clearly taking this match very seriously. Every shot they made meant business, and the ring shook with every power move that landed. The incredible power of Simmons was like a force of nature, and he impressed many when he blocked Atlas' attempt at a Full Nelson with brute strength alone. Atlas, on the other hand, had a fair sized advantage in experience, using it to lure Simmons into traps and capitalize when Simmons made mistakes. The match reached it's climax when Atlas whipped Simmons into the ropes for a clothesline, only for Simmons to duck and come back with a massive Spear. One two three and Simmons had pulled out an incredibly hard fought win. Shane Douglas vs. Dennis Condrey With Black Gold challenging for the Midnight Express' Pacific Tag Team Titles, two members of each team squared off in singles action. Douglas was all enthusiasm, in contrast to the surly, ruthless demeanour of Condrey. His speed and energy got the crowd going, landing many rapid fire shots and drop kicks on Condrey. That said, Condrey proved to be just more cut throat, following up a leapfrog by Douglas with a low blow kick and then nailed him with a DDT to score the pinfall. Even in a singles match, the Midnight Express are a tough act to beat. Owen Hart vs. Mr. Hito Owen Hart certainly impressed many with his run as Golden State Tag Champ along with his partner Brian Pillman. Now that he is focusing more on singles success, he has set his sights on the California Title held by Tracy Smothers. Before he gets there, though , he has to get past the Japanese veteran Mr. Hito and Hito wasn't about to make it easy on him. With vicious precision shots, jarring takedowns and grueling submission holds, Hito really took it to young Owen. But the second generation star was intensely trained in his father's Dungeon and withstood the onslaught to battle back hard. He unleashed the full arsenal of his high flying moves before catching Hito in a belly to belly suplex that got the three count. Owen is proving he can do it on his own and Tracy Smothers had best watch out. Steve Blackman vs. Bobby Eaton This would be the second singles match of the night between the Midnight Express and Black Gold, and if Blackman was discouraged by his partner's earlier loss, he certainly didn't show it. The tough man from Pennsylvania fixed Eaton with a steely glare, determined to even the score for his team. He made sure that Eaton felt every shot that he landed, with martial arts kicks and shots that wore down "Beautiful" Bobby. Never the less, Eaton had plenty of tricks of his own, and the momentum of the match kept switching back and forth. That came to a shockingly sudden end when Blackman caught Eaton flat footed with a running bicycle kick and dashed over for the cover. One … two … THREE! Shane Douglas raced out to the ring and embraced his partner as they jubilantly celebrated their victory. Let's see if they can keep this momentum going into their title matches with the Express. Brickhouse Brown vs. Chavo Guerrero This was Brickhouse's first appearance since being brutally ambushed pre-match by the Crazy Gang. He was looking to show he still had what it took in coming back from his injuries, but faced an uphill battle against the eldest of the Guerrero Brothers. Guerrero took it to the popular Brickhouse, but Brickhouse was game for a fight and fought back just as hard. It was a battle every step of the way, with neither man letting up for a second. Brickhouse tried to put Chavo away with a swinging neckbreaker, but Chavo blocked it, grabbed him and a waistlock and hit a German Suplex that held him down for the count of three. A tough loss for Brickhouse, but one at with he acquitted himself commendably. Barry Windham vs. "Mean" Mike Miller The Brigade and the Crazy Gang have been feuding for a while now. While the Crazy Gang had the upper hand early on in the feud, since scoring some big victories at Seattle Showdown, the Brigade have been on a roll and showing more confidence with every week. This has gotten under the skin of the leader of the Crazy Gang, "Mean" Mike Miller, and he is set on making sure that the Brigade's momentum goes no further. He didn't even wait for the bell to ring, just going after Windham right out of the gate with wild lefts and rights. The big Texan was no pushover and fired back with haymakers of his own. This was no technical match, just an out and out fight and eventually spilled over to the outside of the ring. The ref counted to ten but both men seemed oblivious and kept at it. Even when security managed to get the two separated, Miller was pointing at Windham. It looks like "Mean" Mike isn't done with Windham by a long shot.

I remember a shoot interview with Barry Windham where he told the tale of Big John Studd gently reading him the riot act for wearing his cowboy boots from the street in the ring.

Yes, both the California Title and the Golden State Tag Team Titles are considered on the line , no matter where they are defended. In fact, a quick peak shows me the last 3 California title changes have taken place in places other than California.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, June 13th Hiroshi Hase vs. Brian Adams Hase did his best to use his speed and skill to bring Adams down, but in the end the sheer size of the American Ninja was too much to overcome, and Adams pinned Hase after a spinning backbreaker Brian Pillman vs. Bob Orton These two continued their war from the Saturday show, without letting up on the intensity. Orton was able to catch Pillman coming off the ropes with a power slam, and followed up with a lariat that scored the three count. This round went to Orton, but you can bet Pillman will come back just as determined as ever. Dan Severn & Jeff Jarrett vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Todd Morton) Severn and Jarrett continued their winning ways when Jarrett pinned Candido after a sunset flip out of the corner The Thundercats (Too Cold Scorpio & Norman Smiley) vs. Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) Iron & Steel won by countout after Cameron gave Smiley a piledriver on the ringside mat Barry Windham vs. Joel Deaton These two big Texans had a pier 6 brawl that ended with Windham putting down Deaton with a running Bulldog Headlock Golden State Tag Title Match : The Hart Foundation © vs. Badd Company The Harts were looking to show their dominance as the new Golden State Tag Champs, but they certainly had their work cut out for them as Badd Company were determined to make the titles theirs. The result was a real barn burner that had the fans going the whole way and ended when Bret Hart dodged a crane kick from Pat Tanaka, then nailed him with the Russian Legsweep and scored the one two three. California Title Match : Tracy Smothers © vs. Owen Hart Smothers may have been able to survive the challenge of Keiichi Yamada, but Yamada's Snowbirds colleague Owen Hart seems equally set on making his own claim at a shot at the belt. This match went back and forth in a gripping duel between Owen's technical mastery and Smothers' wily Southern tricks. In the end, they were still going at it when the bell rang, signalling a 20 minute time limit draw. Owen may not have pulled out the win this time, but that will make him even more determined the next time.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on ESPN / TSN Pacific Super Cards, June 12th The Masked Avenger vs. Jimmy Del Ray The masked man took down Del Ray with an over the knee backbreaker Scott Hall & Tom Magee vs. Chavo & Mando Guerrero The Guerreros presented a real challenge for the Gator and Megaman, brining a wealth of experience and cunning that frequently stymied the young contenders. After a long match, Magee managed to pin Mando after a slingshot somersault legdrop, but it was a very close thing. Steve Wright & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Ed Wiskowski & The Dog Pound (Brian Knobbs & Rick Steiner) As one could imagine, this was a wild and crazy brawl, with the new formation of the Playboy Club being already dropped into a heated feud with the British contingent. After a furious battle, Easy Ed stole the victory with an ambush clothesline to the back of the head on Wright, but both sides kept going after the bell and had to be ordered from the ring by security. Ron Simmons vs. Stan Hansen Another hard hitting slugfest that ended in a no contest when both wrestlers clotheslined the ref. Owen Hart vs. Todd Morton A fast moving, high flying match that ended after Owen hit a flying missile dropkick on Morton Nick Busick vs. Chris Adams After Adams' dastardly attack a few weeks ago on Bam Bam Bigelow, Busick was out to avenge his Five Man Army partner. Adams certainly managed to hold his own against the man from Powerhouse Hill, but was clearly finding Busick difficult to corral. He eventually had enough and called in Mr. Hito, and the two ganged up on Busick as the ref called for the DQ. They kept up the beatdown until someone charged into the ring and started laying them out. It was Bam Bam Bigelow, making his return after Seattle Showdown! He and Busick rallied and sent Adams and Hito beating a hasty retreat from the ring. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) This would the first defense for the Midnights since winning the titles last week, and it would be against one of the most promising young teams in PCW. While Black Gold put in an impressive challenge, in the end the champs kept the titles after a double goozle on Douglas. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Buddy Rose © vs. Vic Steamboat This was a coming out party for young Steamboat, as he gave hit utmost to win the title that his older brother had carried with so much honour. While Rose was able to swing the momentum back in his favour on a number of occasions through sheer guile, Steamboat just kept coming back at him, and the crowd was on the edge of their seats after several near falls. It seemed like he just might pull it off when he went up top for the flying cross body press, but it was all a trap by Rose , who ducked at the last second and let Steamboat crash to the mat. Rose then swiftly followed up with the Inside Out Backbreaker to put an end to Steamboat's valiant challenge. The crowd still gave Steamboat a round of applause as he left the ring. Rose was quick to pat himself on the back, but he didn't have long to celebrate. A whoop went up from the crowd, and Rose looked to see that was causing it. It was "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, who was standing in the aisle, staring daggers at the champ. The two kept staring at each other as the show closed.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN , June 11th The Masked Avenger vs. BB Anderson After showing up for the past couple of weeks to rescue Leo Burke from the clutches of Big Bubba Rogers, we finally have the in ring debut of the mysterious masked man. Going by the name the Masked Avenger, he certainly didn't give away much, simply coming to the ring and easily overpowering the rookie Anderson. This huge stranger was certainly impressive, hitting some jarring slams before finishing off Anderson with an over the knee backbreaker, but said nothing and didn't interact with the crowd as he left the ring. Just who is this masked man? Tom Magee, Scott Hall & Brickhouse Brown vs. "Mean" Mike Miller & The Vice Squad (Randy Rose & Jimmy Del Ray) After some frustrating initial results against the Crazy Gang, the newest members of the Brigade have been on something of a roll of late. A big part of their comeback has been Brickhouse Brown, who has galvanized his teammates and led them to some impressive wins. It's likely because of this that the Crazy Gang went straight to the gutter before the match even started, ambushing the Brigade on the way to the ring, attacking Brickhouse with a chair and driving him head first into the ring steps. Brickhouse was dazed and busted open, and when the ref sent him to the back for stitches, it was clear he would not be able to participate in the match. It would be 3 on 2 and the Crazy Gang cackled at what they had pulled off. They seemed to be congratulating themselves too soon, as instead of falling apart, Megaman and the Gator tore into them with a cold fury. Determined to avenge his fallen comrade, Hall grabbed Rose and started dismantling him with crushing power moves. Any time one of Rose's partners tried to interfere, Magee was right on the spot to knock them out of the ring with a dropkick or a forearm smash. It seemed like Hall threw an extra pinch of anger into the Gator Breaker (fallaway slam) on "Ravishing" Randy, and when Miller and Del Ray tried to break up the pin, they were knocked to the ground by a double clothesline from Magee and the ref counted to three. The Crazy Gang thought they could cause the Brigade to fall apart by taking out Brickhouse, but these are not the rookies that they once bullied, and it looks like the Brigade are truly ready to take on the world. Dan Severn & Jeff Jarrett vs. Dirk Been & Joel Klug Last week, Severn agreed to ally himself with Jeff Jarrett. The result is perhaps the oddest tandem in all of PCW, and this was clear with their ring entrance. Jarrett was all smiles, gladly shaking hands and giving high fives with the fans, while Severn was his usual stoic self, scowling and staring straight ahead. As odd a combination they might seem, the moment the bell rang, they went together like bacon and eggs. Swiftly tagging in and out, they easily dominated the young rookies, with Severn readily setting up Jarrett's high flying moves and Jarrett in turn feeding their opponents into Severn's takedowns and submission holds. The apex came when Jarrett dropkicked Been into a belly to back suplex by Severn for the win. They might both be confirmed lone wolves, but walking alone together seems to be working well for them so far. Brian Pillman vs. Bob Orton Both of these men are coming off losses at Seattle Showdown. While Pillman is seeking to show he has what it takes to succeed outside of his tag team with Owen Hart, while Orton was fighting for relevance after losing the Television Title, as well as confirming his place in the new Crazy Gang. Both men went at it full bore, with Orton adding an extra hint of viciousness in his big shots but Pillman refusing to be kept down and coming back with precision dropkicks. It was one such dropkick that sent Orton flying out of the ring, and Pillman capitalized by going up top and landing on the Cowboy on the outside. When they were able to get to their feet, the two kept slugging it out until the ref counted them both out, and for a long while besides. Something tells me that we have not seen the last of these two facing each other. Mike Rotunda vs. Joel Deaton It's taken some time, but the tide of the war between the Crazy Gang and the Brigade seems to have turned to the Brigade since Seattle Showdown. After their two big victories in Seattle, the Brigade have been brimming with confidence and reinvigorated with new energy. As you can imagine, the Crazy Gang are not pleased with that and are looking for any chance to bring the Brigade down a peg or two. To that end, they have sent the Outlaw himself, Joel Deaton, to bring down the Brigade's leader, and he certainly gave Rotunda quite the fight. Ultimately, however, Rotunda kept his cool and maintained control of the match, taking out Deaton with a Samoan Drop. Pringle's men will have to come up with another scheme if they intend to stop the momentum of the Brigade. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are coming off two controversial victories at Seattle Showdown … *deep , exasperated sigh* Jim Cornette, Big Bubba Rogers and the Midnight Express! The crowd explodes in boos as Cornette and his men make their way to the ring. Cornette is particularly insufferable, with an exaggerated swagger to the way he was swinging his raquet. Bonnema : Jim Cornette, you seem especially full of yourself lately. Cornette : Well, Frank Bonnema, if anyone has a right to be, it is us! My main man, Big Bubba Rogers, proved he is the baddest man in the universe with his completely clean and legitimate victory over the Canadian Caveman, Leo Burke! The Midnight Express took the Pacific Tag Team Titles, just like I said they would, proving that they are the supreme tag team in wrestling. We are the supreme wrestling unit in Pacific Coast Wrestling, and nobody is even close to breaking our stride! Bonnema : Well hold on a minute now, Jim Cornette. What about this mysterious Masked Avenger who has gotten involved in your matches lately? Cornette : Don't talk to me about the Masked Avenger! Masked Avenger, pah! What a joke! He isn't fooling me for a second! I know who that guy is and I know that I don't like him! Bonnema : So, who is he? Conrnette : That's for me to know, Bonnema, and for you to find out. I'm not even going to dignify him with saying his name. He still wants to interfere in our business, then he will have to face the consequences. I have all the faith in the world in the Louisville Slugger, Big Bubba Rogers, and if Mister So Called Masked Avenger wants to stick his nose into our affairs, well then we will just have to break it off! British Steel (Steven Regal & vs. Buddy Rose & Fit Finlay Last week, the war between British Steel and Fit Finlay entered a whole new dimension as Finlay and the Dog Pound joined forces with the Playboy Club. Rose and Finlay came out backed up by Ed Wiskowski, Rick Steiner and Brian Knobbs, clearly looking to intimidate the young Englishmen through sheer numbers. For their part, Regal and Brookside brought out their mentors, Steve Wright and Dave Taylor, who was returning from being injured by Finlay, but they were still ceding a 4 to 5 advantage. British Steel put in a game effort , but the circus at ringside provided plentiful distraction. The inevitable breakdown came when the Playboy Club started fighting with Wright and Taylor at ringside. Rose immediately sought to take advantage as he reached into his trunks and pulled out a set of brass knucks. But out of nowhere, someone appeared in the ring behind him. It has "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan! Duggan flattened Rose with a clothesline from behind, then immediately exited the ring. Regal immediately trapped Rose with a cradle suplex and the ref turned around in time to make the three count while Brookside held off Finlay. The Playboy Club were furious, but the Brits formed a line in the ring, with Duggan in front with his 2 x 4 saying, "Come on!" Finlay still wanted to go at it, but Rose put his arm around him and said, "Next time!" as he led his men off. It looks like the British contingent may just have found their equalizer in their war with the Playboy Club.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, June 6th Steve Blackman vs. "Mean" Mike Miller Miller showed the viciousness that is his trademark and pinned Blackman after an over the shoulder neckbreaker Nick Busick vs. Hector Guerrero After an intense battle, Busick caught Hector in the spinebuster slam for the win Vic Steamboat vs. Stan Hansen Hansen clearly had some frustration stemming from Seattle Showdown, and took it out on young Steamboat, brutalizing him before finishing him off with a Lariat Steve Wright & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Fit Finlay, Buddy Rose & Ed Wiskowski The Englishmen won by DQ when the Dog Pound (Brian Knobbs & Rick Steiner) charged into the ring and attacked them. The Playboy Club continued to gang up on them until Regal grabbed a chair and used it to run them out of the ring Keiichi Yamada & Hiroshi Hase vs. Tracy Smothers & Jack Victory Smothers hit the Jawjacker on Hase to pull out the victory Scott Hall vs. Joel Deaton Hall was able to defeat the Outlaw with a power slam Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Hart Foundation © vs. The Snowbirds (Owen Hart & Brian Pillman) Another rematch from Seattle Showdown, this was an epic match that ended when Bret hit a top rope clothesline on his brother Owen to successfully defend their titles.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , June 5th Dan Severn & Jeff Jarrett vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Todd Morton) The newly forged duo of Severn and Jarrett were victorious when Jarrett dropkicked Morton into a belly to back suplex by Severn Tony Atlas vs. Norman Smiley Atlas pinned Smiley after a running splash. After the match, Atlas and Larry Cameron tried to do more damage, but Too Cold Scorpio came out and the two teams slugged it out until separated by security Badd Company vs. The Vice Squad (Jimmy Del Ray & Randy Rose) Badd Company pulled out an impressive win over the former Pacific Tag Team champs when Diamond hit a reverse flying cross body press on Del Ray Brian Adams vs. Shane Douglas The bodyguard for Gary Hart International had quite the struggle with young Shane Douglas but was able to put him down with a spinning backbreaker Barry Windham vs. Ed Wiskowski This hard hitting battle of big men went to Windham when he caught Wiskowski flat footed with a Western Lariat Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Wild Bulls (Ed & Rick Gantner) © vs. The Midnight Express As the champions were on the way to the ring, they were ambushed by the Midnight Express, who ran Rick Gantner head first into the ring steps, taking him out of the match. Ed Ganter did his best to fight the match on his own, but the Midnights mercilessly took advantage of his injured leg. Ed Ganter looked like he just might pull it off when he tried to get Eaton up in a choke slam, but Condrey viciously clipped his leg from behind, and Eaton fell on top of Gantner. The ref counted three and that was that, the Midnight Express are the new Pacific Tag Team champions. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Buddy Rose © vs. Eddie Gilbert In this rematch from Seattle Showdown, Gilbert had Rose trapped in a figure four leglock, but the Great Muta charged into the ring and broke it up with a Power Driver elbow drop, leading to a DQ finish. Gilbert and Muta kept fighting long after the end of the match.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, June 4th Tom Magee vs. Mr. Hito Magee was coming off the high of scoring the winning pinfall in the Brigade's match with Joel Deaton and the Vice Squad, and he was clearly keen on keeping his momentum going. Mr. Hito, a tough as nails Japanese veteran representing Gary Hart International, was certainly not about to be overlooked on Magee's path to bigger things, and certainly gave Megaman a rough time of it. But Magee was infused with a new confidence and managed to withstand Hito's offense. Magee came back with a running forearm smash that flattened Hito, then followed up with a spectacular slingshot somersault legdrop that got the pinfall. After some tough times against the Crazy Gang, it looks like the Brigade is back and on track. Too Cold Scorpio vs. Larry Cameron Ever since Larry Cameron walked out on the Thundercats, there have been a few isolated matches between them and Cameron's new team Iron & Steel, but the lingering resentment between the two sides has never really gone away. Scorpio was coming off a disappointing loss of the Light Heavyweight title at Seattle Showdown, and clearly was looking to show that he was still a contender, even against a much bigger opponent like Cameron. He certainly gave Cameron a run for his money, using his speed to pepper Cameron with shots and keeping just out of the range of Cameron's offense. It seemed he just might pull it off when he countered out of an attempted suplex with a flip and landed on his feet just behind Cameron, but Cameron whirled around and levelled him with a lighting quick leaping clothesline. Cameron followed it up with a piledriver that kept Scorpio down for the three count and that was that. After the match, Cameron stood menacingly over Scorpio and looked like he might just try to administer some more damage, but Norman Smiley raced out to protect his partner. This led to Tony Atlas coming out to stand beside Cameron, and the two sides engaged in a stare off before heading back to their respective locker rooms. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen , my next guest is a fast rising star in Pacific Coast Wrestling … Jeff Jarrett! The crowd cheers as Jarrett heads out to the ring. He takes time to high five the fans on his way but he clearly has something on his mind. Jarrett : With all due respect, Mr. Bonneman, there is only one person I want to talk to right now, and I want to call him out to the ring … Dan Severn! Come on out here, we need to have words. Severn has his traditional scowl as he heads out to the ring to meet with Jarrett. Jarrett : Dan, for the past several weeks, I have kept offering my help to you, and you have kept turning it down. I know your reasons, and I respect them. You want too make your own name in PCW. I came in with the same intention. You come in with a wealth of credentials. You are one of the best technical wrestlers in the world. You are more than a match for any one man. But here's the thing … you don't have just one man coming after you. The Hollywood Knights are gunning for you. I am sure you can take on any one of them, and even two of them wouldn't scare you. But there's four of them and they aren't too good to try ganging up on you any chance they get. You've seen what they have done. At the very least, you could use an extra pair of eyes to watch your back. I am offering to be that pair of eyes. I will be by your side, no matter what they throw at you. Dan … I am asking to be your partner. Severn : Jeff … don't think I don't appreciate what you've done for me. But I don't have partners. I made a mistake when I joined up with the Hollywood Knights. If I learned anything from that, is that the only person I can rely on is myself. I walk alone. Jarrett : I understand. I walk alone too. But that doesn't mean that we can't walk alone together. Severn stares at him a long time before he answers. Severn : Well, can't argue with that logic. Severn claps Jarrett on the shoulder and the two leave the ring together. Ron Simmons vs. "Mean" Mike Miller One of the biggest sparks in the resurgence of the Brigade has been Ron Simmons. The two time All American out of Florida State pulled of what many thought impossible at Seattle Showdown by shutting down Stan Hansen towards giving his team a victory over the Crazy Gang. As one can imagine, this has put a target on his back, and the leader of the Gang, Mike Miller, has gone out to try and get some payback on Simmons. To his credit, Miller used his considerable experience to his best advantage, getting a lot of good shots in on Simmons. But every shot that Simmons landed, they seemed to hit that much harder, and his explosive power was a lot to try to contain. Ultimately, Simmons leveled Miller with a clothesline before flatting him with a crushing spear and that was that. If the Crazy Gang are going to try to take out Simmons, they better know they are in for a fight. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentleman, my next guest is one of the most controversial wrestlers in PCW … "The Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay! The crowd boos as "Emerald" by Thin Lizzy blares out over the arena PA and David Finlay stalks to the ring. Unusually for him, Finlay is not alone, being accompanied by the Dog Pound, Brian Knobbs and Rick Steiner. Bonnema : Fit Finlay, for the most part, you have been a confirmed lone wolf, but now you are coming out with the Dog Pound. What is the reason for this change of heart? Finlay : Because I'm not an idiot, Bonnema. British Steel have three men to my one, and while any Irishman is easily the match of any three Englishman, there's only so long I am going to give them the advantage of numbers. Typical behaviour of the English, who have oppressed my people for centuries. Well, no more! These two men are tougher than shoe leather and will never back down from a fight. I know I can trust them to do what needs to be done. Bonnema : But Fit Finlay, the doctors have just given Dave Taylor clearance to return to the ring, and soon it will be four to three. What do you plan to do then? Finlay : Well, we'll just deal with that problem when it comes up … Finlay is cut off by the sound of "Smooth Operator" by Sade playing over the arena PA. Finlay looks incredibly annoyed but Buddy Rose, smiling insufferably, strides out to the ring, with Ed Wiskowski at his back. Rose : Fit Finlay, my good man, no need to wait for when it comes up, the solution is here! I've been watching you for a while and I have been duly impressed. You definitely have what it takes, and I am here to offer you and your friends full membership in the Playboy Club! You will never have to worry about being down in the numbers again. And that is not the only advantage … all of the luxuries of the Playboy Club are yours for the asking. The finest restaurants, the fanciest limos, the prettiest women, all are available with a snap of your fingers. Finlay gives him a dead eye stare. Finlay : And what the hell makes you think I have any interest in any of that nonsense, Rose? Rose : OK, fair enough, maybe the high life isn't to your taste. But I am the king of the Pacific Coast as well as the Pacific Heavyweight champ. I am a man of considerable influence. You guys want title matches? Hey, as long as it isn't for my title, I can get them for you. You want a bone to chew on? I can get you matches against any of those snot nosed English punks that you ask for. Your partners and I are old friends … hi, fellas! *The Dog Pound glower at him * They can tell you. When the Playboy wants something done, it happens. Finlay : You've certainly done a good job of telling me what is in it for me. So tell me … what is in it for you? Rose : Ah, the mark of a wise man, checking out all angles of a deal. I don't ask for much, just loyalty to the Club. If you join up, your enemies will be my enemies, and mine will be yours. You don't strike me as the sort to shy away from a fight, so I can't imagine the thought of more fighting to discourage you in any way. So what do you say? Rose holds out his hand, and Finlay stares at it for a long while … but ultimately shakes it, and all four men leave together. There have been a number of strange groups in Pacific Coast Wrestling, but this makes perhaps the unholiest alliance of all. Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) & Leo Burke vs. The Midnight Express & Big Bubba Rogers There is a deep well of hatred between Burke and Big Bubba, culminating in the dastardly attack by Rogers after their grueling Taped Fist Match at Seattle Showdown. The ether assisted beatdown did considerable damage to Burke, with only the rescue by a mysterious masked man saving him from being injured even more severely. Even so, Burke's ribs were considerably bandaged as he came out for this six man match, and Rogers and the Midnights targeted his ribs throughout the match to punishing effect. Blackman and Douglas did their best to protect their mentor, but Burke's pride would not let him just sit out the match, and when Rogers caught him in the corner with an avalanche, that was all she wrote. Once again, after the match , Rogers continued to batter Burke while the Midnights held off Black Gold. But once again, the mysterious masked man charged into the ring, backhanding Condrey and Eaton out of his way like he was swatting flies. He got in some lefts and rights that rocked Big Bubba until Cornette had his men pull his bodyguard out of the ring and retreat to the locker room. The masked man then pushed his way past Blackman and Douglas as he left the ring, disappearing just as suddenly as he appeared. Who is this strange man and what is his interest in Leo Burke?

If I do say so myself, my favorite mental visual image from this show is big huge Stan Hansen gearing up to destroy someone with the Lariat, and getting shut down by the All American former nose guard from the Florida State Seminoles. I could easily imagine Mike Miller staring in shock at this, to the extent that Windham could easily take him down with the Bulldog.

Pacific Coast Wrestling Seattle Showdown from the Kingdome, Seattle, May 29th Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Too Cold Scorpio © vs. Chris Candido Ever since winning the Light Heavyweight Title back in September, Too Cold Scorpio has had a long and dominant reign, full of great matches where the popular Coloradan has always come out on top. But lately, the ever arrogant Chris Candido has really come into his own and has become a serious contender for the title. The New Jersey rookie was his usual brash self as he came to the ring, but once the match started , he was all business. As the match wore on, it was clear that Candido was more focused than ever before, and Scorpio really upped his game to try to match him. Scorpio was able to catch Candido coming off the ropes with a spinning back kick, and when he went up top for the flying splash, it looked like that was that for Candido's challenge. But at the very last second, Candido rolled out of the way, and Scorpio landed hard on the mat. Candido got up, grabbed Scorpio and planted him into the mat with a belly to belly piledriver. He went up top and came off with a flying legdrop. One two three and that was it for Scorpio's title reign. Chris Candido was now the Light Heavyweight champion, and if he was arrogant before, he would be insufferable now. Dan Severn vs. Jack Victory Ever since he has walked out on the Hollywood Knights, Dan Severn has been a marked man for Tracy Smothers' crew. Since stepping out on his own, Severn has been very determined to walk his own path, but frequent gang ups by the Knights have put him in the position of having to accept help. Severn came to the ring by himself, but "Hollywood" Jack Victory came out backed up by Chris Candido and Todd Morton, the Suicide Blondes. Severn was determined to get down to it despite the odds, but fairly soon into the match, Jeff Jarrett came out, both to cheer on Severn and keep an eye on the Blondes. Severn actually seemed grateful for the presence of Jarrett, and was able to focus on dealing with the Big V. Victory still gave Severn a tough battle, landing some jarring haymakers on the Beast, but Severn was till able to out last him and take him down with a series of suplexes before locking him in the Body Scissors Sleeper. The Suicide Blondes looked like they might try to break it up, but Jarrett came running down the ring apron and dove on top of both of them, and Victory had no choice but to give up. Jarrett quickly grabbed a chair from ringside just in case they tried a post- match attack, but Victory and the Blondes chose a strategic retreat and headed back to the locker room. This left Severn and Jarrett in the ring together, but while Severn did give Jarrett his trademark steely glare, after a long pause he offered his hand to him. The two men shook hands as the fans cheered. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Snowbirds (Owen Hart & Brian Pillman) © vs. The Hart Foundation Ever since they arrived in PCW at the top of the year, Owen Hart and Brian Pillman have been big favorites with the fans , enjoying a successful reign as Golden State Tag Champs. Lately, the Hart Foundation have proven to be tenacious challengers, with Jim Neidhart and Owen's older brother Bret Hart seeming determined to bring the belts to Gary Hart International. While they had engaged in several intense matches before, the Hart Foundation were especially vicious in this match, notably in several hard hitting exchanges between Bret and Owen. The Snowbirds were not about to be steamrolled by anyone, and were able to consistently find counters for the Harts' offense, but the Hitman and the Anvil just kept coming at them. Pillman finally had Neidhart lined up for the Air Pillman. But just as he was about to execute it, Bret Hart, lurking at ringside, snagged his leg, causing Pillman to fall face first on the mat. When he got to his feet, Neidhart bowled him over with a running tackle , following it up with a running powerslam. While Bret intercepted his brother, Neidhart covered Pillman and got the one two three. The Golden State Tag Titles would now go around the waists of the Hart Foundation. Steve Wright & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. David Finlay & The Dog Pound (Brian Knobbs & Rick Steiner) With British Steel now being guided by Steve Wright, they were looking to get some sort of traction in their feud with the Belfast Bruiser. Finlay brought in some equally ferocious backup in the form of the Dog Pound, Knobbs and Steiner. The Dog Pound certainly got their licks in, but the focus of the match was Finlay taking every chance he could to get a shot at the Englishmen. This could have been a costly mistake, as he would stay in for a long while when he should have tagged out. He tried to put away Brookside with a belly to belly piledriver, but Brookside blocked it and countered with a side roll up. One … two … THREE!!! The crowd and the Englishmen were jubilant at Brookside having pulled off such an upset. A furious Finlay tried to go after Brookside but was held back by the ref and the Dog Pound. Pacific Television Title Match : Bam Bam Bigelow © vs. Chris Adams With his regular partner, The Great Muta, having vanished from view in PCW, Chris Adams has come out of the shadows to mount a considerable challenge for Bam Bam Bigelow's Television Title. Having already gotten one countout victory to his credit, Adams was clearly determined that tonight would be the night. But Bigelow had learned from his earlier loss and was less reckless, refusing to be drawn into some of Adams' traps that had caught him in the previous match. This time it was Adams who would throw caution to the wind, getting hit with some power moves by Bigelow that he had been able to dodge before. An increasingly frustrated Adams went more and more for dirty tactics, at one point choking Bigelow by the ropes and just barely releasing before the ref reached the count of 5 . He then threw it all out the window when he grabbed a chair from ringside and cracked Bigelow in the head with it. The ref called for the DQ, but Adams continued to savagely attack Bigelow with the chair until Nick Busick came out to rescue his comrade from the Five Man Army. Adams headed for the hills but Bigelow was clearly badly hurt and Busick had to help him to the back. Scott Hall, Tom Magee & Brickhouse Brown vs. Joel Deaton & The Vice Squad (Jimmy Del Ray & Randy Rose) The younger members of the Brigade have had a series of matches with the Crazy Gang where they have seemed to get ever closer to a big win. Brickhouse Brown has proved to be a key part of rallying the Brigade and took command of this match, guiding his partners to tag in and out and several big combination moves. Deaton and the Vice Squad went all out against the Brigade, but Brickhouse was always able to keep his team's spirits up and get them back on track. The match took a decisive turn when , out of nowhere, Magee nailed Rose with a thrust kick to the jaw. Deaton and Del Ray rushed in to break up the pin, but were met by a double shoulder tackle from Brickhouse and Hall, and Magee scored the pinfall. The Brigade has managed to pull out perhaps their biggest victory yet, but they still had one more match to go tonight. Taped Fist Match : Leo Burke vs. Big Bubba Rogers Big Bubba has been bullying pretty much everyone who has crossed his path, and Leo Burke finally had enough of it when he challenged Jim Cornette's bodyguard to a taped fist match. Rogers and Cornette came out full of confidence, but that faltered a bit when they saw the steely look in Burke's eyes. Rogers thought he would just use his great size to dominate Burke, but Burke was not impressed, and pasted Rogers with several brutal punches. Rogers would battle back to get the advantage, but the double tough Burke would not be kept down for long and was slowly starting to wear down Big Bubba. The match took a nasty turn when Rogers went to his corner to confer with his manager. Outside of the view of the referee, Cornette took an aerosol can out of his jacket and started to spray the tape on Rogers' fists. The acrid stench of ether filled the air, and when he locked up again with Burke, he kept covering Burke's mouth and nose with the tape. Burke was clearly getting woozy from whatever was on the tape, and Rogers pounded hard on the compromised Burke. He even started to use the loose tape to choke Burke, and there was nothing the valiant Canadian could do to stop it. Rogers finally put him away with a running splash, but even then , he kept brutalizing the unconscious Burke. Shane Douglas and Steve Blackman rushed out to his aid, but were intercepted by the Midnight Express. With Bam Bam Bigelow and Nick Busick having gone earlier to the hospital, it seemed like there would be nobody to rescue Burke. But then, out of nowhere, a huge man in a red mask and red wrestling gear charged into the ring and backhanded Rogers out of the ring. Cornette seemed to recognize this mystery man and was livid, but he and Big Bubba still beat a hasty retreat. The mystery man helped Burke to his feet and assisted him to the back. Who is this mystery man who has come to Burke's side? California Title Match : Tracy Smothers © vs. Keiichi Yamada The last time Keiichi Yamada was in PCW, he and Tracy Smothers were close friends, but in the time he was away, the so called "Mr. Hollywood" has taken a turn to the dark side in the course of winning the California Title. Since his return, Yamada has made it his goal to wrest the title from his former comrade. He certainly came out loaded for bear in this match and Smothers spent much of the match backpedalling. The champ did manage to get a few shots in but it was mostly Yamada for much of this match, and it seemed like the title would be his. Unfortunately, a mis-timed dive to the outside was neatly sidestepped by Smothers and Yamada plummeted to the ringside mats. Smothers swiftly capitalized with kicks and punches before dragging him back into the ring. He hit the dazed Yamada with a savate kick before going up top and nailing the Jawjacker to put an end to Yamada's challenge. Mr. Hollywood has survived another threat to his title reign. Barry Windham, Mike Rotunda & Ron Simmons vs. "Mean" Mike Miller , Bob Orton & Stan Hansen While the Brigade had managed some small victories over the Crazy Gang, Percy Pringle's men have managed to maintain the advantage in the big matches. The big difference maker has been the Stan "The Lariat" Hansen. No matter how well they might have done early in the match, the moment the Mad Man From Borger entered the ring, there was nothing the Brigade could do to stop him. This time out, they did everything they could to keep him from tagging in, and managed to do quite well against the Crazy Gang. Ultimately, an outside trip by Percy Pringle tilted the momentum in the favour of the Crazy Gang. Mike Miller held Barry Windham in place and brought in Hansen for a lariat, and it looked like that was the end of that. But at the last second, Ron Simmons intercepted Hansen with a crushing running spear that sent the big man to the mat like a sack of rolled oats. Miller looked on stunned at the Crazy Gang's biggest weapon being taken out of action, but Windham quickly seized the advantage by nailing him with a running bulldog headlock. Rotunda held off Orton while Windham got the pinfall, and the crowd was ecstatic as the Brigade had achieved a massive victory. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Wild Bulls (Ed & Rick Gantner) © vs. The Midnight Express While the Wild Bulls have been incredibly dominant in their run as Pacific Tag Team champs, Ed Gantner's knee injury last week at the hands of the Guerrero's has put a conspicuous chink in their armour. Jim Cornette's Midnight Express are certainly not ones to pass up an opportunity like that, and they targeted his knee every chance they got. Rick Gantner stayed in the ring for as long as he could, to take the pressure off his injured brother, but the Express kept on double teaming Rick until Ed had to get involved. Ed was able to put in a courageous effort, and even managed to get Eaton up in a big bear hug. It was at that point that Cornette got involved, entering the ring and jamming his tennis racquet into Ed's bad knee, causing him to release the hold and fall with Eaton on top of him. However, the ref saw all of this and called for the DQ, giving the win to the Wild Bulls. They had come out of this encounter with their titles, but for how much longer? Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Eddie Gilbert © vs. Buddy Rose To the surprise of many, Buddy Rose came out of the Vegas Vengeance battle royal and earned the Heavyweight Title shot against Eddie Gilbert. Rose and Gilbert have swapped wins in tag matches leading up to Seattle Showdown, but this match would be for all of the marbles. Rose came out backed up by his long time cohort "The Polish Prince" Ed Wiskowski. Eddie Gilbert, having learned from his previous encounters with Rose, was accompanied not just by his manager Missy Hyatt but also by his friend Vic Steamboat. The match was vicious and intense, with Rose looking to take the title by hook or by crook. While Rose thought he was the dirtiest player on the Pacific Coast, but Gilbert was a canny wrestler who had worked hard to keep the Heavyweight Title and was no stranger to taking a few shortcuts in a match. After a long and brutal battle, Rose had Gilbert set for a running splash, but Gilbert rolled out of the way and Rose crashed into the mat. It was at that point that Wiskowski tried to get involved, climbing on the ring apron. Vic Steamboat immediately pulled him off and the two started slugging it out. It was at this point that the match made a turn towards the bizarre. It was while the ref was distracted by the ringside shenanigans and Gilbert was getting to his feet, out of nowhere, someone appeared in the ring right behind Gilbert. It was the Great Muta! Muta had not been seen since getting hit by Gilbert's fireball at Vegas Vengeance, but he was now returning looking for some vengeance of his own. Gilbert turned around and was hit with a spin kick to the jaw from Muta that sent him down hard to the mat. Rose looked confused but immediately seized the advantage, hitting the inside out backbreaker and going for the pinfall. One … two … THREE!!!! NO! Gilbert had lost the Heavyweight Title and Rose was once again the champ! The crowd booed as Rose grabbed the belt and he and Wiskowski ran off into the night. Missy was crying as she helped up her man, heartbroken that his title run came to an end this way. As Gilbert recovered, his reaction was tranquil fury, swearing to have the ultimate revenge on Muta. One would hate to be the Pearl Of Japan when Hot Stuff gets his hands on him.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, May 15th Norman Smiley vs. Chris Candido While both men have been focusing on tag team competition of late, they gave the fans a tightly contested singles bout which ended when Smiley tried to lock up Candido in the Norman Conquest (cross face chicken wing) but Candido blocked it with a backwards kick, then reversed it into a rollup that got the one two three. The fans were shocked and Candido was particularly insufferable about a rare clean victory for him. Ron Simmons & Scott Hall vs. The Vice Squad (Jimmy Del Ray & Randy Rose) Early on, the former tag champs capitalized on Hall's hot temper by drawing him into several traps that caused him to lose control and get blindsided an number of times. However, Simmons managed to get his partner settled down and they rallied to defeat the Vice Squad with a crushing double shoulder tackle on Rose Dan Severn vs. Mando Guerrero A tense, scientific showdown between two technical masters that Severn won by forcing Mando to give up to the body scissors sleeper Shane Douglas vs. "Mean" Mike Miller The always eager Douglas took on the leader of the Crazy Gang and put in an impressive effort, but ultimately the experience of Miller was too much, as he caught Douglas with an elbow smash to the face, followed by an over the shoulder neckbreaker for the win. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Too Cold Scorpio © vs. Todd Morton A fast paced, high flying match that went to Scorpio with a flying splash. After the match, it was announced that Scorpio would be defending the Light Heavyweight Title at Seattle Showdown against Morton's Suicide Blondes partner Chris Candido. The Snowbirds (Owen Hart, Brian Pillman & Hiroshi Hase) vs. The Hart Foundation & Mr. Hito This was an epic 6 man match with plentiful near falls and tons of action. Pillman was finally able to pin Hito after the Air Pillman. At Seattle Showdown it will be Owen and Pillman defending their Golden State Tag Titles against the Hart Foundation. California Title Match : Tracy Smothers © vs. Jeff Jarrett The rookie Jarrett certainly presented a tough challenge for the self styled "Mr. Hollywood", but his challenge came to an end when he ran straight into a savate kick, followed up by a Jawjacker that gave the win to Smothers. After the match, it was announced that Smothers would defend his California Title at Seattle Showdown against his former friend Keiichi Yamada.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on ESPN / TSN Pacific Super Cards, May 15th Tom Magee vs. Mr. Hito One of the youngest members of the Brigade certainly faced a tough challenge in the Japanese veteran, but Magee drew on his considerable athletic gifts to catch Hito with a quick thrust kick to the jaw and get the win. David Finlay vs. ?? ?? Finlay came out first , looking belligerent as ever and ready to throw down with whoever came through the curtain. Next were the members of British Steel, Steven Regal and Robbie Brookside , who stood well back of the ring and looked warily at the Belfast Bruiser. They finally announced who it was that Dave Taylor had brought in to face Finlay … "The British Magician" Steve Wright! Finlay was quite familiar with Wright, having faced him before in Europe, and charged straight at him. But Wright deftly sidestepped Finlay, laughing as he did so. Finlay glared at Wright and charged again, only for Wright to spin out of the way with a cartwheel. Wright played cat and mouse with Finlay, seeming quite amused at how enraged the Irishman got. But it was only a matter of time before Finlay caught up with him and landed some blistering punches. However, Wright proved just as adept when it came to exchanging blows, getting in several jarring shots before breaking away from Finlay. Wright kept one step ahead of Finlay, deflecting the biggest shots that the Ulsterman could deliver and deftly countering any attempted submission holds. Finlay finally had enough and brought in a chair, only to get it driven into his face by a dropkick from Wright. As the ref gave the match to Wright by DQ, Finlay looked like he might just want to continue the battle, but when he saw Regal and Brookside standing beside Wright, he though better of it, instead saying, "Next time!" before storming off. Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) vs. Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) Black Gold gave Iron & Steel a run for their money, but in the end just could not overcome the power advantage as Atlas pinned Douglas following a Samoan Drop Keiichi Yamada, Hiroshi Hase, Dan Severn & Jeff Jarrett vs. The Hollywood Knights (Tracy Smothers, Jack Victory, Todd Morton & Chris Candido) Severn may be a self described Lone Wolf, but he worked well with his team and helped them get their victory when he whipped Morton into a Golden Arm Bomber by Hase Barry Windham vs. Stan Hansen Hansen has been the deciding factor in a number of Crazy Gang victories over the Brigade, leaving the younger team scrambling to figure out some way to counter act the huge Texan. Barry Windham seemed determined to not be intimidated, and impressed many by standing his ground with the Mad Man from Borger. He managed to keep out of the range of the Lariat and land some very big moves on Hansen. As the match wore on, the Crazy Gang got more desperate, and Percy Pringle yanked down the top rope, causing Windham to tumble out of the ring. He was not able to make it back in time, leading to a win for Hansen by countout. A disappointing result for the Brigade, who have to be wondering just what it will take to get a decisive victory over the Crazy Gang. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : The Wild Bulls (Ed & Rick Gantner) © vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero By now, the Guerreros are familiar challengers for the Gantner Brothers but always dangerous. They showed just how much of a threat they could be when Hector blindsided Ed with a vicious clip from behind to the leg. The Guerreros continued to work over Ed's leg, and he was clearly in much pain throughout. Ed was able to rally and tag in his brother Rick, and the two managed to put down Hector with a big double shoulder tackle to defend their belts, but Ed was limping as they left the ring. Not a good omen for their upcoming title defense against the Midnight Express. Eddie Gilbert, Vic Steamboat & Badd Company vs. Buddy Rose, Ed Wiskowski & The Dog Pound (Brian Knobbs & Rick Steiner) As crazy and heated battle as you can imagine, with Rose eventually going after Missy Hyatt, which drew Gilbert out of the ring. As Gilbert and Rose brawled, Wiskowski ambushed Steamboat and hit the face first piledriver and score the victory for their team. Rose now has the momentum going into his title match at Seattle Showdown.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN , May 14th Scott Hall, Tom Magee & Brickhouse Brown vs. Bob Orton & The Vice Squad (Jimmy Del Ray & Randy Rose) Lately, the newest members of the Brigade have had a series of disappointing losses at the hands of the Crazy Gang. This could been seen in the dejected looks on the faces of Hall and Magee as they came to the ring , but Brickhouse was upbeat and encouraging to his teammates. Early on, the match seemed like more of the same, with the more experienced Crazy Gang running rings around the Brigade rookies. But the tide started to turn when Brickhouse ordered Hall to tag out. Hall was startled but agreed and Brickhouse started to take over his team's strategy, ordering quick tags in and out and making plays that capitalized on Magee's spectacular athleticism , Hall's explosive power and his own considerable speed and enthusiasm. Little by little, they started to dominate the match, shutting down a number of attempted double teams and hitting big moves. It looked like they just might take it when Hall trapped Rose in a crushing bearhug, but Del Ray went to dirty tactics by bringing in Percy Pringle's cane. The ref was distracted by escorting Brickhouse out of the ring, so Brickhouse grabbed him and forcibly spun him around, forcing him to see the interference by Del Ray. The ref then disqualified both teams, the Crazy Gang for using a foreign object and the Brigade for putting their hands on an official. Although the end result was still disappointing for the Brigade, they did seem to be considerably cheered by their improved performance against their hated rivals. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest have had a lot of trouble lately with the Belfast Bruiser, Fit Finlay … Dave Taylor and British Steel! The crowd cheer warmly, but then gasp as Taylor comes out on crutches, his leg bandaged from last week's attack by Dave Finlay. His young wards, Steven Regal and Robbie Brookside, help him enter the ring, but he is clearly in a lot of pain. Bonnema : Dave Taylor, you are clearly in rough shape after Fit Finlay attacked you with that chair. Have you got any word from the doctors on your prognosis? Taylor : Yes, Frank Bonnema, and fortunately it looks a lot worse than it is. There was no permanent or long term damage, but I still won't be able to get back in the ring for a few weeks, and need to limit what I do to avoid any setbacks. Unfortunately, I won't be of much use to my young friends here, and they seem dead set on running off and getting in over their heads. Brookside : Now Dave, we have talked about this. What that dirty dog did to you … we can't let it stand. We have to make him pay for it, otherwise we won't be able to respect ourselves as men. Taylor : MEN!!!! (He shouts so loudly that he startles both of British Steel and Frank Bonnema) You know I think the world of you, but you are both still kids compared to Finlay. He has been at this longer than you can imagine, trained by his own father, and you will never make it to be men if you don't stay out of his way. He is vicious, relentless, and won't stop until he sees you put down for good. Look at what he is capable of! (pointing at his own leg) I wish I could have done more for you, prepared you better. But he came at us so fast and out of nowhere, I didn't have any time and, I'm sorry lads, you just aren't ready for him. Regal : Well, Dave, we understand what you are seeing. But regardless of whether you feel we are ready for him, he is coming for us anyway. This is the situation we find ourselves in, and we are going to have to go on offense, otherwise he will just pick us off one by one. We are going to have to engage him, regardless of whether you approve or not, because he hasn't given us any choice. Taylor : (pauses to think , then looks very directly at Regal and Brookside) I can see there is no stopping you on this. That's the determination that first led me to take you under my wing, so I guess I can't complain about it now. So let me do something for you. I can't be around for the next while to watch your back, so I am going to bring in somebody else. An old friend, someone I can trust. You have to promise me that you will listen to him and do exactly what he tells you to with no backchat. Do you promise me that? Regal and Brookside agree and the crowd cheers as they embrace their teacher. Steve Blackman vs. Chris Adams Las week, Chris Adams showed in no uncertain terms that he was back and focused on taking the Pacific Television Title from Bam Bam Bigelow. His colleague The Great Muta may have seemingly vanished off the face of the earth, but the English Gentleman was very much present as he took on another member of the Five Man Army, Steve Blackman. The Walking Weapon certainly presented a tough challenge for Adams in what proved to be a tight martial arts duel, with Adams managing to avoid the Bicycle Kick and hit the Superkick to score the three count. Bigelow had best be on his guard and Adams means business. Barry Windham vs. Brian Adams Windham takes a break from his battles with the Crazy Gang to square off with the big American Ninja of Gary Hart International, Brian Adams. These two big stallions had quite the slug fest, and the ring rocked with every slam and throw. Adams made a huge move when he clotheslined Windham over the top rope, but showed his inexperience when he turned his back and failed to notice Windham land on the ring apron. By the time he had turned around, Windham had climbed to the top turnbuckle and leveled Adams with a flying clothesline. That turned out to be enough to get Windham the pinfall and the victory. Hopefully, Windham can use this to build some momentum for his ongoing war with Percy Pringle's men. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring. Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest will soon be riding their victory at the Vegas Vengeance Super Bowl Of Tag Team Wrestling all the way to a Pacific Tag Team Title shot against the Wild Bulls at Seattle Showdown … Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express! The fans rain down boos upon Cornette and his men, and as usual , Cornette is clearly loving every bit of it. Big Bubba Rogers is at his usual place beside Cornette, making sure no one gets too close to the Louisville Lip. Bonnema : Well, Jim Cornette, you seem to be on top of the world these days. Cornette : Nearly there, Bonnema, nearly there! I told everyone that we would breeze through Vegas Vengeance and come out on top, and we did just that. We took on the best tag teams the Pacific Coast had to offer, and while that wasn't much, we still were the only ones standing at the end of the night. And now, at Seattle Showdown, we finally have our title shot, and once we take down the Bovine Brothers, there will be nobody left to stand in our way! Bonnema : Now hold on just a second, Jim Cornette. Leo Burke has certainly taken exception with the actions of your bodyguard, Big Bubba Rogers, and certainly is a force to be reckoned with? Cornette : Leo Burke? Don't talk to me about Leo Burke, Bonnema! The Canadian Caveman is just another punk with ideas above his station. He has stuck his nose into our business one too many times, and he needs to be taught a lesson. So at Seattle Showdown, we have signed a match for him. Leo Burke against the baddest man in the universe, Big Bubba Rogers … in a taped fist match! Lets see how well Leo the Cowardly Lion does in a head on with my main man. I don't think we will be seeing too much of him once it is all said and done with! Eddie Gilbert & Badd Company vs. Buddy Rose & The Dog Pound (Brian Knobbs & Rick Steiner) Buddy Rose is closing in on his title shot with Eddie Gilbert at Seattle Showdown and is on a considerable roll. A big part of his momentum has been provided by his crony, "The Polish Prince " Ed Wiskowski, who joined him at ringside. Gilbert was well aware of the capabilities of Easy Ed, and as a precaution, was joined at ringside not just by his manager, Missy Hyatt, but also by Vic Steamboat, who kept a watchful eye on the Prince. For the most part, Wiskowski stayed out of things, but when things eventually broke down to all 6 men in the ring, he saw he chance to strike, and jumped up on the ring apron. He was immediately countered by Steamboat, who tackled him and dragged him back to the floor. Rose was clearly counting on this interference, as he got blindsided by a dropkick by Gilbert that sent him flying out of the ring. Meanwhile, Paul Diamond his a reverse flying body press on Knobbs to give the win to their team. If Rose was counting on Wiskowski to do all of his heavy lifting for him, he had best formulate a new plan, as Eddie Gilbert is resourceful and has friends looking out for him.
