    1994-03-05-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired March 5, 1994 Jellico High School, Jellico, TN Chris Candido vs Pat Rose INT: Chris Candido - says Smoky Mountain Wrestling has done it to him again. He proved he wasn’t a joke when he gave Tracey Smothers a concussion, when he threw a bucket of water on him and when he beat him for the TV title, but now they’re trying to make a fool out of him again with this Ladder match. Tracey Smothers stole his money but he’s got it back, he doesn’t need this match as its back with its rightful owner. At Golden Week ’94 they’ve got this Ladder match and there will be $2,500 hanging above the ring and he’s going to be the one to get it. INT: Lex Luger - repeat from 2/19 Recap of the post-match attack on Ricky Morton from last week Bob Caudle says as a result of what happened, a match has been signed for the Bluegrass Brawl between the Heavenly Bodies and the Rock & Roll Express. It will be held inside a steel cage with the tag team titles on the line and there has to be a winner as the losing team must leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling. INT: Bob Armstrong - taped interview that is cut almost immediately as Jim Cornette is at the interview desk demanding they get the camera back on INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette is in shock and it appears this is the first he has heard about it “they’ve signed a match between the Heavenly Bodies and Rock & Roll Express where the losers of the match have to leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling?” He states that Bob Armstrong is behind this, he’s been on him since day one and has always been against his men. He did this to him a year ago and is sick and tired of it, it’s a conspiracy. Prichard says that Bob Armstrong, Smoky Mountain Wrestling and the Rock & Roll Express only have one thing on their minds and that is to undermine Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies, it doesn’t matter though because they’ve beaten them every time and can beat them this time too. Cornette says that all the Rock & Rolls have done is sign their death warrant, last time they got one over on him when they got rid of Stan Lane, but this time it’s them and the Bodies inside a cage. They’re trying to get them out of here as they are the only ones they are afraid of but it isn’t going to work, as 4/1 at the Bluegrass Brawl, it’ll be the day he’s longed for, the day he’s hoped for, the day he’s wished for, it’ll be the day the music died as the Rock & Roll Express will finally be out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Great stuff. INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl Well Dunn vs Robbie Eagle & Larry Santo - Daryl Van Horn joins them on commentary for this match INT: Well Dunn - they say the only reason they are in hillbilly heaven, Smoky Mountain Wrestling, is because the top tag team competition is right here. They’ve heard there is a new tag team called The Thrillseekers who’ve got this big reputation coming to the area, well that’s fine with them as that’s what they’re looking for. As far as the ‘Loser Leaves Town’ match between the Rock & Roll Express and the Heavenly Bodies, somebody is doing somebody a favour because they won’t have to face them. INT: Jeff Jarrett - repeat from 2/19 INT: Dick Murdoch - says the telephone lines are burning and every day he’s getting a call from Mama Cornette giving him a few more dollars. He’s the nastiest, filthiest, dirtiest, slimiest, stinkiest individual you’ll ever know and he and Bob Armstrong both know what wrestling is all about; it’s not about 94 clotheslines, it’s about getting down in the mud, the blood and the beer. Armstrong made a mistake when he let Jim Cornette choose a partner of his choice for this match, he didn’t realise Dick Murdoch was available. Every time those hillbillies start cheering for him it just makes him want to whip him that little bit more because people in Texas know who their mothers and fathers are. Do you? He tells Mama Cornette to keep the telephone ringing and Jimmy can sleep well, relax and put his feet up as he will protect him and Bob Armstrong better get ready because he’s on his way. INT: Bob Armstrong - says everyone is talking about Golden Week ’94 and it’s the biggest event Smoky Mountain Wrestling has promoted so far. It’s on everybody’s lips and he’s especially proud to talk about it with them because he’s directly involved. When he became Commissioner again they also came to an agreement that he can wrestle if he needs to. There is one thing he needs to do, and that’s to take care of Jim Cornette for everything that he put he and his good friend The Bullet through. Cornette is like the kid on the block who gets everybody else to fight and he just sits down and laughs. This time he’s got to do his own fighting but he still couldn’t do it by himself and got Dick Murdoch to be his partner, thinking The Bullet wouldn’t be able to get past Captain Redneck to get his hands on him. Well he’s prepared to take a beating from him just to get to Cornette and at Golden Week ’94 it’s time to return the favours, he always pays his debts and he owes Jim Cornette. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Tammy is all excited as they’ve put together a training video of her and she’s going to be ready for the mixed tag match and they’re going to win. This is set to the Rocky theme tune and it starts off with Tammy running up and down some stairs but that’s as athletic as she gets. She’s sat on Brian while he does push ups, breaks a nail playing Basketball, gets tired of running up and down stairs so gets Brian to give her a piggyback instead. She goes for a jog whilst Chris Candido drives a alongside in a car, but they change places and she drives whilst he runs after her. She gets on an exercise bike while Chris pushes the pedals, does sit ups whilst painting her toe nails, does weight curls whilst on the phone and leg exercises whilst watching TV and eating crisps. This was awesome. Tammy is very proud of herself although Bob Caudle can’t see why as that wasn’t much of a workout. He says that the Dirty White Girl has sent in a video and he wants Tammy and all the fans to see that. The White Girl is jogging, practising her punching and kicks (badly), pumping iron, and working out in the ring and on her submissions with the Dirty White Boy while Donna Summer’s ‘She Works Hard For The Money’ plays over it. Back in the studio and Tammy’s in a state of shock seeing the White Girl training for their match. She asks Brian what are they going to do as the Dirty White Girl is there looking like Mike Tyson, lifting weights and boxing. Primetime tells her to quit whining, he’ll take care of it and before the match comes round he’ll think of something and take out the Dirty White Boy and Dirty White Girl. Tammy is almost in tears again and tells Brian not to yell at her. This whole segment was great. The Hornet vs Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) - Brian Lee interferes and attacks the Dirty White Boy from behind. With Tammy Fytch watching on from the apron, the White Girl gets in the ring and drills The Hornet, knocking him out cold. He stops attacking the White Boy, almost dumb struck by what he’s seen, before Tracey Smothers comes to Anthony’s aid and Primetime just leaves. INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - the White Boy says that was quicker than Sugar Ray Leonard has ever put anyone out and Tammy Fytch just got a bird’s eye view of what the Dirty White Girl is all about. Imagine if she’s just knocked out a full grown man what she’s going to do to that turkey head of hers? The White Girl is so mad she could spit nails and tells Fytch that the next one is for her. The Dirty White Girl is pretty animated here. The Thrillseekers music video - Billy Squier ‘Fast Times’ INT: Jim Cornette Tom Prichard (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Tracey Smothers - Jimmy Del Ray comes to ringside to support Prichard which leads to the Rock & Roll Express coming out to be in Tracey’s corner. Smothers climbs the ropes ready for the jawjacker and Cornette gets up on the apron. Mark Curtis and the Rock & Rolls go over to try and get him down, but the distraction allows Del Ray to push Smothers off the turnbuckle to the canvas. Curtis sensing Del Ray was up to something goes over to have words with him. Prichard sets up a DDT, but with Curtis distracted, the Rock & Rolls enter the ring and hit the double dropkick and Smothers covers the Doctor for the win. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-02-26-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired February 26, 1994 Jellico High School, Jellico, TN Dutch Mantel draws today’s ‘Beat the Champ’ challenger and it is The Hornet and just like last week, they are soon joined by Chris Candido and The Hornet. Candido says that last week was just a warm up, he’s travelled the world and The Hornet is the most accomplished wrestler in professional wresling! He’s got himself another $2,500 and tells Tracey Smothers to put his money back up, they’ve got themselves another bet and The Hornet is his man! Recap of Robbie Eagle vs Larry Santo from last week INT: Tracey Smothers - he heard Chris Candido running his mouth earlier and that his boy The Hornet is the greatest wrestler ever. After all the things he’s done to him he wants to get some payback. Not only does he want to break his neck, he wants to break his pocketbook too and has every faith in Robbie Eagle. Robbie Eagle (w/ Tracey Smother) vs The Hornet (w/ Chris Candido) - Candido interferes to help The Hornet win and become the new TV champion, although we don’t see what he does as for some reason the camera is focusing on a man and child in the crowd. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch Recap of The Thrillseekers contract signing from last week The Thrillseekers music video - Danger Danger ‘Rock America’ Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - “I’m Tonya Harding and I didn’t have a damn thing to do with it!” Cornette says that the Rock & Roll Express have fallen into a trap that a lot of people have fallen into when it comes to his tag teams. They think they can wear them down through sheer persistence, but nothing could be further from the truth as Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray are finely conditioned and can go all night and then some. He knows there has been a lot of betting going on here recently, but he’s betting on the Heavenly Bodies for the marathon match at Golden Week, you can put the farm on it. Dutch then asks him about a new tag team called The Thrillseekers who are coming to SMW and what does he know about them and how does he think the Heavenly Bodies will stack up against them? Cornette replies with “No comment on that right now Dutch,” before they make their exits. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Tammy is a bit calmer than last week, but she’s still very upset about this mixed tag match they’ve got against Tony Anthony and the Dirty White Girl. She doesn’t know what she’s going to do as she isn’t a wrestler and has called every one she knows in the office to stop this match, but they’ve said they can’t do anything She even asks Brian if they can call that guy in Oregon who works for the figure skater to come down here and break her legs to get rid of her. Lee tells her not to worry about anything as Chris Candido and himself are going to have her training, running and lifting weights. She may end up being Miss Olympia, they may have her powerlifting and may even send her to the Olympics. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Anthony Michaels - Tammy covers Michaels after the match and Lee count the ‘pin’ before Tammy does a bit of boxing practice (all in her business suit and heels!) INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - the Dirty White Boy says it’s real easy for someone to get a three count when they’ve got somebody else knocking the people out for them. He heard that Tammy Fytch is in training, well she better be doing some heavy duty training as the White Girl is in training too. Not that she needs to be, but she’s in training nonetheless. The White Girl says that she is sick and tired of being humiliated over and over again, and when Tammy Fytch steps in the ring and is looking eyeball to eyeball with her, she’s going to throw a right that’s going to ruip her skull straight off her head. Anthony tells them that all they’ve got to do is show up and they’ll beat their stinking brains out and there is nothing they can do about it. INT: Lex Luger - repeat from 2/19 INT: Bob Armstrong - he wants everyone to spread the word as old Bob is back with his Commissioner’s hat and is open for business. First thing he did was to get rid of that crooked politician that Jim Cornette had bought on the Board of Directors and the second thing he accomplished was not only is he Commissioner, but he can wrestle whenever he wants now and that has really torn Cornette up. He’s got him one-on-one at his family reunion in Marietta, but everyone else in the Smoky Mountain area also deserves to see him get at least part of Cornette after what he did to him and his good friend The Bullet. He wanted him one-on-one again, but Cornette was only prepared to do it if it was a handicap match. He’s got Dick Murdoch to be his a partner, and even if Murdoch beats him half to death he knows he’s going to get his hands on Cornette at least one time in that match, and when he does it will be time for him to pay his debts. INT: Dick Murdoch - he’s the happiest man on the face of the earth because he didn’t know Christmas would come around a second time so soon! He was sat at home in Texas the other day when his phone rang, and this time it wasn’t George Bush or Ronald Reagan, it was Mama Cornette offering him a lot of money to come back to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. She’s paying him a tremendous amount to protect her little Jimmy and once he gives his word you can bank on it. He tells Bob Armstrong to look over his shoulder, look round the corner, under your car and in your closets as there is no way of telling where he’s going to show up. He promised Mama Cornette that he was going to take care of Jimmy and make sure that nothing happens to him. Armstrong needs to get it out of his head about hurting him or laying a finger on him as and he’ll see him in the very near future. INT: Jeff Jarrett - repeat from 2/19 INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl INT: Daryl Van Horn - he was off TV last week as his professor summoned him to the Carpathian Mountains where he gave a week long seminar on torture methods of the Inquisition and advanced sado masochism techniques. When he came back he looked in his mail box and saw a letter from the SMW Board of Directors who have once again denied Prince Kharis a championship match. There has been a conspiracy against them both since they first showed up here. Prince Kharis has devoured everyone in his path, yet he’s still not given the respect due an Egyptian Prince, they are discriminating against him. The likes of Jim Cornette and Tammy Fytch are out here and on TV for as long as they want, but what have they done next to him? Win some cheap championship belts? He’s revived Prince Kharis from a 3,000 year slumber and that’s right up there with parting the red sea or turning water into wine. If they think they can stop him and deny Prince Kharis access then fine. In the weeks to come he’s bringing in more people to Smoky Mountain, more lost souls who’ll follow him like rats behind the pied piper and the trail of slaughter will be long and ugly. Heavenly Bodies & Killer Kyle (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express & Bobby Blaze - with Blaze hurt on the outside, the Bodies and Kyle attack the Rock & Rolls after the match. Cornette splits Morton’s head open after a nasty looking racket shot and then gives him one to the throat for good measure too. Larry Santo, Pat Rose, Anthony Michaels (“What’s he coming out for he got beat by a woman” quips Dutch), The Hornet and Robbie Eagle all come to try and help but are kept at bay by Kyle and the racket swinging Cornette. Robert is trapped upside down and helpless in the corner whilst they continue to beat on Ricky who is a bloody mess at this point. Vegematic on to Morton, then out comes Tracey Smothers and Tony Anthony for the save just as the show goes off air. This was all about the post-match and beat down on the Rock & Rolls which was excellent and as there hasn’t been any blood on TV for quite some time, seeing Ricky get busted wide open really added to the visual here. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-02-19-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired February 19, 1994 Jellico High School, Jellico, TN Dutch Mantel draws today’s ‘Beat the Champ’ challenger and it’s Larry Santo. They are soon joined by Chris Candido and Santo and Candido is sure everyone knows that Larry has a great win/loss record here on Smoky Mountain television! It was the biggest upset of all time when Robbie Eagle beat him for the TV title, but he knows that Santo has a match against Eagle for the TV title today and he’s betting on Larry Santo. He’s going to teach him in five minutes all it takes to beat Eagle, before Santo gets a bit of interview time and says that with Candido’s support he’s going to be the new ‘Beat the Champ’ TV champion. Well Dunn vs Bobby Blaze & Anthony Michaels INT: Well Dunn - they say that they’ve been all around the world and have held titles everywhere that they’ve been. Smoky Mountain Wrestling has some of the best tag teams so that’s why they are here, but when Well Dunn comes to town, they walk away with the gold. Chain Match: Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Tony Anthony (w/ Ron Wright) (jip, from Sunday Bloody Sunday) INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - The White Boy says that Brian Lee is saying that he’s got something that belongs to him, well if he wants it he’s just got to come through him to get it. Anthony says that Lee and Fytch have put their hands on the Dirty White Girl one time too many and gets them to play the tape from Barbourville, KY when Tammy ‘pinned’ her. The White Boy has been to the Commissioner and the Board of Directors and has asked them for a mixed tag team match. The two of them have fought together in the ring and outside and she can hold her own, so those two better be ready as this is far from over and the Dirty White Girl is going to get her hands on Tammy Fytch. INT: Brian Lee & Chris Candido & Tammy Fytch Texas Death Match: Terry Funk (w/ Dory Funk Jr. & Jim Cornette) vs The Bullet (jip, from Sunday Bloody Sunday) - Funk goes for a piledriver but The Bullet reverses it into a backdrop on a pile of chairs that Funk had previously bought into the ring. The Bullet with a DDT on the chairs then gets him a pin. Funk is unable to answer the ten count and Bob Armstrong is back in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Cornette nails The Bullet in the back with his racket after the match dropping him and then he and the Funks do a number on him. They try to get him to kiss Cornette’s feet anyway, but The Bullet is saved by Tracey Smothers and Anthony Michaels. INT: Bob Armstrong - they’re in an office building in Knoxville as a meeting has been called between the new Commissioner, ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong, and the Board of Directors. Armstrong kicks the crooked Harry White off the Board of Directors, throws him out of the door and says there’s going to be some changes around here. Now he is back he can be at his family reunion in Marietta, GA and he’s already signed and been approved for a cage match with Jim Cornette. He wanted it to be one on one, but Cornette was pretty smart and he couldn’t get him to agree to it being one on one, he would only do it if it was a handicap match and he could choose a partner of his choice. Cornette chose Dick Murdoch, well bring it on as he’ll do whatever it takes to get rid of him. That isn’t everything though and there is some more stuff he’s planning to take care of with the Board of Directors. INT: Jim Cornette - dressing room interview. He appealed to get the decision from Sunday Bloody Sunday reversed and get Bob Armstrong replaced as Commissioner, but that was thrown out. He did everything in his power to make sure he was never the Commissioner in Smoky Mountain Wrestling again, but he foiled him one more time when he beat Terry Funk. Now not only has he assumed the position of Commissioner but he’s got past a little ruling, and whenever he wants to right some wrong he can now wrestle too. That smacks of a conflict of interest, it smack of bribery to get past that ruling and he’s going to prove that he’s a crooked politician one way or another. If Bob Armstrong wants to get his hands on him the only way he’ll do it is in a handicap match as he’s never claimed to be a wrestler. He’s got himself Dick Murdock, the man who beat him on Christmas night in Knoxville and he’s one of the baddest men in wrestling and one of the baddest men walking the planet. Regarding the Armstrong family reunion on 3/10, he knows that they’re attempting to mutilate him, but one way or another he will live to see the following day, but he’s not sure whether Bob Armstrong will. INT: Tracey Smothers & Robbie Eagle - Smothers heard Chris Candido out here earlier running his mouth and saying how he was going to put his money on Larry Santo. If he’s a betting man he’s got $2,500 which he’s putting on Robbie Eagle and they can have a little side bet on the upcoming TV title match. INT: Jeff Jarrett - taped interview Down & Dirty w/ The Thrillseekers - “I am John Bobbit and what are you doing with that knife?” It was announced earlier in the week that Smoky Mountain Wrestling had signed, according to experts, “one of the greatest teams of all time and more than likely, the team of the 90s,” The Thrillseekers, Chris Jericho and Lance Storm. We go to footage of that signing and all the SMW officials and dignitaries like Sandy Scott, Tim Horner, Mark Curtis and Pam Lawson are there, whilst The Thrillseekers are sat at the table alongside Dutch Mantel and Bob Armstrong. It’s a proud moment for Armstrong to have The Thrillseekers in SMW, as to come here they’ve had to vacate the tag team titles that they held in Canada. This is their first venture into the United States and from the film that he’s seen, he thinks they’re the hottest team to come along in the last 20 years. Storm says SMW is the most tag team rich promotion in the world with the likes of the Rock & Roll Express and the Heavenly Bodies and that’s why they are happy to be here, so they can prove themselves against the best and show everyone that they are the tag team of the future. The Thrillseekers and Armstrong sign the contract and the deal is finalised (to rapturous applause from the SMW officials). This is the first time that they’ve ever done a contract signing for newcomers so they clearly had big things planned for them, especially when you consider Well Dunn debuted on the same TV show to no such fanfare. I would’ve preferred a music video in there somewhere showcasing them and some of their high spots, as this talk of “greatest tag team of all time” reeked of hyperbole. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Tammy is inconsolable and almost in tears at the prospect of having to wrestle, “she’s a student for God’s sake!” The Dirty White Girl is going to bite her, give her rabies and she doesn’t know what to do. Tammy continues to sulk, moan and throw a tantrum before Brian puts her over his shoulder and carries her off, telling Caudle it’s not as bad as it seems. 2/3 Falls Match: Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express (from Harlan, KY) - the match is joined tied at one fall apiece and goes to a one hour draw with no further falls being taken. INT: Rock & Roll Express - dressing room interview. They say that if there was just a few more minutes in the match the belts would have been theirs, as the Heavenly Bodies were gasping for air and their tongues were hanging down to the ground. They want a match to separate the men from the boys, a match that goes for an hour to show who the real SMW tag team champions are. INT: Heavenly Bodies & Jim Cornette - Cornette says as everyone just saw from the videotape, Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson ran from the Heavenly Bodies like the shameless cowards that they are for 58 minutes and 30 seconds. Although they pounded their brains out in the last four seconds they had ran for too long and the match went to a draw. The Rock & Roll Express went to Smoky Mountain and came up with this ‘Marathon match’; it has to go sixty minutes, if you quit you’re the loser and whoever scores the most falls in the course of that hour is the winner of the match. The only thing that the Rock & Rolls have done is dug their own grave because they can go an hour, just ask any woman in the Smoky Mountain area. Prichard says that since the inception of SMW the Heavenly Bodies have ruled the tag team scene and whether it took them five minutes, ten minutes or an hour, they’re going to show everyone who the real marathon men are. Cornette tells the Express to remember back to when they went sixty minutes with the Midnight Express, the Anderson and the Russians. He knows every one of their tricks, every one of their moves and every way they can be beaten. Recap of Robbie Eagle beating Chris Candido for the ‘Beat the Champ’ title Robbie Eagle (w/ Tracey Smothers) vs Larry Santo (w/ Chris Candido) - Eagle with a sunset flip, but Candido gets up on the apron and grabs Santo’s hands to stop him from falling backwards. Smothers jumps into the ring, kicks their arms to separate them, Santo falls back and Eagle gets the win while Smothers wins Candido’s $2,500. INT: Lex Luger - taped interview INT: Tracey Smothers & Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl INT: Chris Candido - he wants Tracey Smothers out here right now, that’s his money and he wants it up again. He then quickly alters tact and says he’s the World champion, it’s not much money to him, but it is to Bob Caudle. Smothers joins him and Candido asks him if he’s going to put that money up again. Tracey says that maybe he will, maybe he won’t, “Chris, do you know how to keep an idiot in suspense? I’ll let you know next week.” Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-08-20-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired August 20, 1994 INT: Rock & Roll Express - the Smoky Mountain Wrestling officials agreed that they got a raw deal against Brian Lee & Chris Candido at Fire on the Mountain, so today they’ve got a rematch. They haven’t forgotten about the Gangstas, but first things first is getting those tag titles back. The Gangstas vs Brian Logan & Steve Skyfire Recap of the closing moments of the Rock & Roll Express vs Brian Lee & Chris Candido match from Fire on the Mountain INT: The Gangstas - New Jack says that the TV stations are trying to censor him, while those Negros down at the NAACP don’t like him. They wish they were water melon eating, chicken eating, chicken bone sucking black folk, but that isn’t New Jack, he’s from the street and he believes in getting things done. The Rock & Roll Express got a little taste of how bad the Gangstas are when they left Ricky Morton lying unconscious. They are going to see exactly what it’s like to have to deal with New Jack and Mustafa and they’re going to see how they deal with people down in the hood. If they want some, bring it on. The Gangstas are here to be had and they’re in the house. Recap of The Thrillseekers vs Heavenly Bodies from Night of Legends INT: The Thrillseekers - Chris Jericho says that he broke his arm in a motorcycle accident just prior to the Night of Legends and the doctors have said that he can’t wrestle for six to eight weeks. That night they had a point to prove to Jim Cornette, to the Heavenly Bodies, to the fans and to themselves, that they had the guts and fortitude to come out on top, and they did, but by wrestling with a broken arm he’s paying for it now. Lance says that he will be wrestling in singles action for now until his partner is healthy again. And so ends The Thrillseekers time in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Considering the hype and push they got they have to be seen as a huge failure, although it would have been interesting to see where they would’ve headed had Jericho not got injured. My best guess is a prolonged feud with the Bodies while the The Gangstas are feuding with Rock & Roll Express, and once that was over they would have transitioned to The Gangstas before defeating them for the titles. INT: Bob Armstrong & Tracey Smothers - Tracey says that they feel like they achieved a lot at Night of Legends and Fire on the Mountain as they managed to beat the Funks, Bruiser Bedlam and Jim Cornette at their own game, although they weren’t quite able to get their hands on Cornette. The Bullet tells him not to worry as they eventually will and he’s currently rattling his brain and driving himself insane because he doesn’t know who the new Commissioner is. Well he does. He knows that in the past he and his Momma have paid a lot of people a lot of money to change their minds but he’s got an honest man to be the new Commissioner, and he’s not going to tell them who as he doesn’t want to give them the chance to get to him. Tony Anthony vs Chris Hamrick INT: Tony Anthony - the Dirty White Boy is running wild in the Smoky Mountain area! First he ran Jake Roberts out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, then Terry Gordy, Dick Slater and Chris Walker all came in but none of them could get the job done. He’s got an open contract and anyone who wants a shot just has to put their name on it. Personality Profile w/ Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies & Bruiser Bedlam & Killer Kyle - Les Thatcher says that despite Jim Cornette’s impressive entourage two things are missing; any kind of belt and the head of Bob Armstrong. Cornette says the reason there are no title belts in his contingent is that the greatest tag team in wrestling, the Heavenly Bodies, have been banned from wrestling in SMW. Bob Armstrong and the Rock & Roll Express are such cowards that they won’t agree to lift the ban on the Bodies returning to action here, although they can’t do anything about them coming out and saying a few words. There would also be a title belt if it wasn’t for that abject failure of a man who he placed a great deal of personal pride in, ‘Conan’ Chris Walker, who couldn’t get the job done against the Dirty White Boy. He was only sending Walker out to soften him up anyway because the knockout punch is Bruiser Bedlam. If the Dirty White Boy is the man he says he is then he and Bedlam are going to meet one on one, and then the belt will be coming off his waist and coming home to the Union. Cornette questions Thatcher on who the new Commissioner is, but he tells him that he doesn’t know and that only Bob Armstrong and the Board of Commissioners do. He wants to find out what they’re dealing with and what they’re up against, because if they don’t they could make any kind of ruling and there would be no way for them to combat it. He’s going to find out who it is and find out quick. Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Dan Dubiel - Bedlam continues to put the stomach claw on Dubiel after the match which brings out the Dirty White Boy, who rips off his shirt and challenges Bedlam there and then. Tony Anthony vs Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette) - Bedlam misses a diving headbutt off the top and the White Boy rolls him up for the three to give the Bruiser his first loss. Brian Lee & Chris Candido (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Rock & Roll Express - Lee is holding Morton as Candido prepares to come off the top turnbuckle with a clothesline. Morton moves and Candido hits Primetime instead. Gibson clocks Candido who takes a bump out of the ring to the floor, double dropkick to Lee and the Rock & Rolls are once again the SMW tag team champions. INT: Brian Lee & Chris Candido & Tammy Fytch - Tammy tells Lee that she doesn’t know what he thinks he was doing, but he’s not listening to her and not listening to the game plan. He tries to blame Candido, but she tells him that she doesn’t pay him to think for himself and he just cost her the tag team championship. She tells him that she’s had enough of him before firing him. Tammy points her finger at Lee before Primetime responds by grabbing her arm. When Candido comes to her defence the two of them get into a pushing contest. Lee gets the better of things until Tammy sprays the hairspray in his face and Candido puts the boots to him until they go off the air. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-04-16-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired April 16, 1994 Anderson County High School, Clinton, TN Dutch Mantel is out of the country and Bob Caudle is not too sure why, so he’s being replaced by Les Thatcher. Sad times and the end of an era. The Thrillseekers vs Chris Hamrick & The Hornet - both Thrillseekers are stood on the top turnbuckle and Storm gives Jericho a face first suplex onto Hamrick, but proceeds to fall off the turnbuckle and crotch himself afterwards!) INT: Jim Cornette - says it’s hard to upset him today because a light has come shining down from the heavens onto him. Yes, the Heavenly Bodies are out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, but today is the debut of Bruiser Bedlam right here on television. He is going to cause exactly what the name implies and is going to be the next ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title holder. He then warns Bob Armstrong that he has got a big surprise for him later in the show. INT: Brian Lee & Chris Candido & Tammy Fytch - Tammy doesn’t like the Rock & Roll Express one bit and as she can’t stand them, Brian and Chris have promised her that they will have a match with them and bring the titles to her, because it’s been too long since she’s had gold around her waist, she means Brian’s waist! They’ve beaten them before and are going to beat them again, but what really upsets her is Ricky Morton. The nastiest lips in all of wrestling, planted them on her and kissed her! It was disgusting, but she can’t blame him as every man in the world loves her and every man wants her. She isn’t happy that Smoky Mountain Wrestling won’t get rid of that tape though, she wants it binned as it’s going to give a nice girl like her a bad reputation. Just so we know what she’s referring to, Bob Caudle gets them to play it again! Candido tells Morton what right does he have to put his lips on their girl? He’s not a real man, he can’t get a date, that’s why he had to molest Tammy Fytch. They are joined by the Rock & Roll Express and Morton says he had a chance to kiss the lady or hit her, and he chose to kiss her and if Candido steps in the ring he’ll prove he’s a real man. Candido says if you want a fight you’ve got yourself a fight, but then tells Brian that he wants him to take Morton out. Lee wasn’t overly keen to help him out and only when Tammy asked her to do it for him did he agree to. Recap of Bob Armstrong vs Bruiser Bedlam & Jim Cornette from Bluegrass Brawl Mike Furnas vs Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette) - Bedlam ends the Furnas’ reign with the stomach claw and hopefully that’s the last we’ve seen of him. Bedlam continues to apply the stomach claw after the match and only stops when Tracey Smothers and Bobby Blaze come to Furnas’ rescue. Bob Armstrong is not far behind and he and Bedlam stare at each other with The Bullet seemingly ready to fight until Bruiser leaves the ring. Personality Profile w/ Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam - This is the replacement for Down & Dirty w/ Dutch and is hosted by Les Thatcher. Cornette has a special announcement to make and he has a letter from the SMW Board of Directors which he wants to read. It says that although they find no impropriety on Bob Armstrong’s actions as a wrestler/Commissioner, they grudgingly agree with the complaint filed by Jim Cornette’s attorneys that there is a legal precedent for a conflict of interests to be found in Bob Armstrong being both a wrestler and Commissioner. Therefore, effective 4/19 when Bob Armstrong finishes his current commitments, he will be banned from wrestling for as long as he is Commissioner. Cornette is pretty pleased as he has finally rid himself of Armstrong again, not as Commissioner, but at least he won’t be able to step in the ring. He tells him that he’s not going to get his revenge in the ring on Bruiser Bedlam in the ring after 4/19, but not to worry because he wouldn’t be able to do it anyway. Bedlam says that he’ll beat any man, dozens at a time, line them up, he gets paid to beat people and Jimmy pays him well. INT: Daryl Van Horn - he’s got someone new that he’s bringing in to Smoky Mountain Wrestling as he’s building a legion of lost souls. He’s been on a worldwide talent search and now has a new member to the Van Horn family. A man from the Land of the Rising Sun, a man who is feared by the Yakuza themselves, Kendo the Samurai. Van Horn also has some words for the Dirty White Boy who came out and interrupted an interview with Prince Kharis and himself. It was bad enough that he commuitted an act of blasphemy and knocked his fez off, but worse of all he put his hands on Prince Kharis and the Prince laid him out 1-2-3 with that big arm of his. The world is going to see the gold put around Prince Kharis’ waist! Everybody knows that the Dirty White Boy is a lowlife scumbag and the kind of man who is found prowling around glory holes in public men’s rooms, so Smoky Mountain Wrestling get ready to see a new champion. Recap of Tony Anthony and Prince Kharis from last week’s Down & Dirty INT: Tony Anthony - says that Daryl Van Horn’s problem is that he’s a small man in a big man’s world; he couldn’t become a wrestler so he became a jaw jacker instead. Van Horn says that he’s putting an army together, well all he’s got to do is sign on the dotted line, and once he’s gone through his army he’s liable to slap him into the middle of next week. INT: Well Dunn - they come out to try and get an interview but Bob Caudle says they weren’t scheduled, there isn’t time and they go to the break. INT: Brian Lee & Chris Candido & Tammy Fytch - Tammy tells Primetime that he better win the match as she’s already told him what will happen if he doesn’t and doesn’t want to tell him again. Les Thatcher says that Chris Candido talked Brian Lee into this, but Candido interrupts and tells him not to stir things up as everyone heard Brian say he would take the match. He would’ve taken it himself, but the real man that Brian is volunteered to take it instead. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Ricky Morton - Chris Candido joins them on commentary for this match and is very funny. Candido eventually goes to ringside which brings out Robert Gibson to be in Ricky’s corner. Candido gets up on the apron and Mark Curtis goes over to him, giving Gibson the opportunity to get in the ring. Fytch tries to throw her purse to Brian but Gibson intercepts and whacks Lee with it. Curtis turns around to see him in the ring with the item and DQ’s Morton. Candido jumps Gibson after the match before throwing Morton over the top rope to the floor. They double team Robert and hit him with the purse until a chair carrying Morton can finally get back in the ring and save him from any further punishment. INT: Rock & Roll Express - they say it was a long hard road for the Rock & Roll Express but they finally ran the Heavenly Bodies out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Now they’ve got to teach Brian Lee & Chris Candido a lesson, and while they may be down at the moment there is always a next time. 1994-02-05-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired February 5, 1994 The Moondogs (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Jason West & Jeff Victory - the Dogs are DQ’d, you know the score by now. INT: Bruise Brothers We return from the Bruise Brothers interview and the Moondogs are still beating on the jobbers INT: Terry & Dory Funk Jr. - they’re going to Knoxville, but what does it smell like? It smells like butt crack, USA. What does that smell like? That smells like cheap wine, unholy women, illegal politicians and fear; fear that seeps out of every pore of Bob Armstrong. Terry warns him not to have his family try to come and help him, as Dory will not only be protecting Jim Cornette, but he will be keeping an eye out for all those illegitimate fools, idiots, perverts and pukes that he claims are sired from him. He fears no evil, fears no-one and doesn’t fear any of those fools who’ll be at ringside because unlike that ice skaters husband who failed, he’ll have his branding iron with him and will take out their legs. Dory wakes from his slumber to repeat himself from last week’s interview and go over the rules of the Texas Death match again. INT: The Bullet - he says every day it gets a little closer and every day he wonders did he make a mistake, but he doesn’t wonder for long as it all had to come to a head. The Bullet got through Dick Murdoch, Kevin Sullivan and Killer Kyle, but now Jim Cornette has bought in the man that beat Bob Armstrong, Terry Funk. He may never have lost a Texas Death match but there’s a first time for everything and anything can happen if you believe. He tells Cornette to bring Terry Funk and they’ll show him what mountain folk are all about and when he wins that match, Bob Armstrong will be back as Commissioner and he and his friend on the Board of Directors can high tail it out of Smoky Mountain. INT: Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette Bobby Blaze vs Brian Keyes - Daryl Van Horn joins them on commentary for this. He’s sick and tired of Smoky Mountain Wrestling them bottom feeders, they’re going to have to start hurting people one by one. They want big names, big money and don’t care who it is. INT: Tracey Smothers - he says of all the guys who he’s wrestled all over the world, Chris Candido makes him the hottest of any of them. He cost him the TV title, he cost him the Heavyweight title by dropping him on his head, and called him Vito Maranara claiming that he’s not from Tennessee. He’s the cockiest, most conniving, cheating guy he’s ever known. As Smothers continues to go off on Candido, Chris runs out and pours a bucket of ice water over him, saying if he’s so hot that will cool him down. Down & Dirty w/ Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - Dutch opens by recapping the Dirty White Boy and Killer Kyle match from last week and all the post-match action. Back on Down & Dirty and the White Boy informs everyone that they have some tape from the master of the Tennessee Chain match, the legendary Mr Ron Wright, and he would like everyone to see it. Ron’s had his surgery and hip implant and is back walking and as mean as ever. The last time people saw him on TV he had been drugged pretty heavy and made a stupid mistake getting into the ring trying to help the Dirty White Boy and he had his brains knocked out. On 2/13, it’s going to be the bloodiest Sunday in the history of wrestling as they’re going to have a Chain match with the SMW Heavyweight title at stake between Brian Lee and the Dirty White Boy. The people have seen him wrestle in 100’s of them over the years against the likes of Whitey Caldwell, Sputnik Monroe and Tommy Gilbert and have never seen him lose one. He’s had the White Boy in training that you won’t believe for the last two months and when he gets through with them he’ll see that both Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch are carried out of there. The White Boy is looking forward to Sunday Bloody Sunday. Brian Lee has done a lot of things to him; he’s screwed him out of $20,000, he put Ron Wright in the hospital, he’s bust his head open on a number of occasions and he’s put his hands on the Dirty White Girl. All that is coming to a screeching halt 2/13 at the Knoxville Coliseum in the chain match, and there is no way he’s going to lose with Ron Wright in his corner. He will walk out of that match the SMW Heavyweight champion, and that’s a promise! Chris Candido vs Robbie Eagle - Candido goes for the Suicideplex when Tracey Smothers runs out and pulls his leg from under him and he falls to the canvas. Eagle pretty much just collapses on him, but Candido is out of it and Eagle becomes the new ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title holder. After the match Candido beckons Smothers into the ring and he is only too keen to accept. Tracey has the upperhand at first, but it ends up with Candido hitting a piledriver on him. He starts to spit on him which brings out Tony Anthony for the save and Candido gets out of there. Tammy Fytch music video - The Spin Doctors ‘Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong’ INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - she can’t believe this god forsaken company would show a video like that. They’re trying to make her look bad, they even call her the ‘b’ word! The whole world is banding against Brian and herself because now he’s got have have this horrid, barbaric Chain match against the Dirty White Boy. Lee personally doesn’t want to be in the Chain match, but Ron Wright and the Dirty White Boy thought this up because they’re a bunch of country bumpkins who sit round a table trying to think of ways to take Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch out. He then asks Tammy how’s he even in this match? She’s worried about getting blood on her dress, while he’s worried about ending up in the morgue. Fytch says if he doesn’t think he’s man enough… He wonders where this macho issue has come from as she’s the one complaining all the time. They go backstage to talk some more, but for the second week in a row there’s dissension in the ranks. INT: Rock & Roll Express, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl INT: Mike & Doug Furnas - they say the Heavenly Bodies better be ready come 2/13 because they took something away from him and his brother that they’ll never get back, their first match together as a team. Doug says the Furnas Brothers aren’t going to allow themselves to be humiliated again. They’re not going to allow the Heavenly Bodies to beat them and for as long as they have breath in their lungs they’re not wearing those University of Alabama jerseys. INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette has his injunction in place against the Rock & Roll Express and if either one of them lay a finger on him during an interview, while they’re conducting a Down & Dirty w/ Dutch or anything other than a match involving the Bodies and the Rock & Rolls, they’ll be suspended and will never get their chance of revenge. Cornette understands they’ve got a match today, checks the format sheet and sees that it’s against Dave Meller and Wade Keller. Nobody’s ever heard of them, but they’re going to be the next guys to fall at the hands of the Heavenly Bodies. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express - it’s not Dave Meltzer & Wade Keller at all, it’s the Rock & Roll Express. Good fast paced TV match that I was going to call very good until the unsatisfactory finish. The match has the added storyline of Ricky Morton trying to get his hands on Cornette who is back to his usual cowardly, weasel like ways, as opposed to the man who was standing tall and getting involved with the Steiners and the Bruise Brothers. All four men are fighting in the ring and Cornette sneaks in about to whack Robert in the back with his tennis racket. Morton sees him coming, grabs the racket and then hits Prichard and Del Ray with it right in front of the referee’s eyes, giving the Bodies the DQ win. It did feel a tad rushed putting this match on TV just a week after the injunction angle and one of the strengths in the Smoky Mountain booking has been to build things slowly and not rush them. With Sunday Bloody Sunday being just over a week away there didn't appear to be any need for this match, whilst similar you could say that it wasn't hate filled enough for to guys who were out for revenge after what Cornette did to Morton's father. 1993-12-11-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired December 11, 1993 Ash Central High School, Jefferson, NC Dutch Mantel is smoking on screen again and they inform us that Jim Cornette has finally got the Moondogs licensed. In addition, Tim Horner is injured (presumably at the hands of Prince Kharis on the Thanksgiving Thunder), and won’t be able to defend his Beat the Champ TV title today. A new champion will be crowned and Dutch draws the names of the two participants from his hat and they are Jimmy Del Ray and Tracey Smothers. Rock & Roll Express vs Larry Santo & Paul Lee INT: Jim Cornette - he said last week he would put up anything he had in order for The Bullet to put his mask on the line against Dick Murdoch, well it turns out that old fossil is cheaper than he thought. All he had to put up was $5,000 and he got that match against The Bullet for his man. If the mask falls and it’s revealed that The Bullet is really Bob Armstrong, like everyone knows it is, then Bob Armstrong will be banned from Smoky Mountain Wrestling for life. He’s got some comments from Dick Murdoch that he wants to play which he has sent in all the way from Colorado. Murdoch is sat outside drinking a Coors Light in the middle of a snow storm. He’s got two Texas ladies for company and has his shirt off (although it is still too hot for him!). Mama Cornette is paying him a lot of money to come out there, take that mask off and get Bob Armstrong suspended for life. He’s not going to do that, he’s going to torture him, brake bones and hurt him. He tells Armstrong to remember when they wrestled at the Orlando Sports Center all those years ago and he ruined his career; well he’s going to do it again in Tennessee. Mama Cornette is sending a limousine to pick them up, is flying them first class, champagne on ice and when they get there the beer will be flowing. It’s going to be pandemonium and mayhem because like that big, fat partner he used to have would say “it’s going to get funky like a monkey in Knoxville, TN.” Back in the studio and Bob Caudle says that while it may be ‘$5,000 vs the mask’ in most of the cities on the tour, that’s not the case Christmas night in Knoxville. Cornette is a bit taken aback by this and Caudle says they have a taped interview from The Bullet which will explain everything. The Bullet says it is either put up or shut up for him this Christmas. Jim Cornette has bought in Dick Murdoch who’s a big, bad man from Texas, but on Christmas night in Knoxville it’s not just the money they’re talking about. On Christmas night, besides the money, if he beats Dick Murdoch not only does Jim Cornette have to give him $5,000, but he also has to shave his head in the middle of the ring. They return to the studio and Cornette calls Dutch over to check the contract. He’s panicking and is not happy one bit, before asking Dutch if he’s got a lawyer in town? They can’t do this to him! How will everyone like it if he’s bald? Which to no surprise elicits a sizeable cheer from the audience. So The Bullet being unmasked and banned from Smoky Mountain Wrestling against Jim Cornette getting his head shaved? I have a feeling that this stipulation won’t be adhered to or they will worm their way out of it somehow. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Chris Canyon INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette is going to appeal and investigate this hair thing that The Bullet has had put in the contract by his old buddies on the Board of Directors, as the contract he got in the mail didn’t have any stipulation like that at all. At Christmas Chaos it will be the homecoming match between Mike & Doug Furnas against the Heavenly Bodies. Mike is so upset about what they did to him that he called his brother up in Tokyo, Japan (at which point the Bodies start doing faux Japanese voices), but they’ve got a rude surprise awaiting them. Everywhere he goes in East Tennessee he sees the colour orange, which has always been a putrid colour in his eyes. He doesn’t think the colour orange accurately reflects the University of Tennessee, the University of Tennessee volunteer football players or Mike and Doug Furnas. They have bought a University of Tennessee volunteer football shirt with them and Cornette starts to spray a yellow stripe down the back of it. They then start spitting on the shirt which brings out Mike Furnas swinging a football helmet and the three of them take off. Mike says he’s coming to Christmas Chaos and is bringing his brother Doug with him and he’s got some comments himself. We got to a taped promo from Doug who says that when his brother called him up looking for some advice about getting into wrestling he thought it was a good idea and that maybe one day they could team up together. He didn’t expect him to get jumped by Jim Cornette and his bums so soon though. He knows what it’s like to have a partner as he has a great one in Japan and you’ll do almost anything for your partner, when you have a brother that ‘almost’ disappears. They’ve got the Heavenly Bodies coming up at Christmas Chaos and he guarantees that there is not a tougher guy in Knoxville than the guy who is going to be in his corner. The Moondogs (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Michael Collins & Rock Regal - the Dogs get DQ’d early but that doesn’t stop them. Plenty of customary unprotected chair and trash can shots to the head with Cornette also getting involved. Gang Fight: Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Bruise Brothers (jip, from Knoxville, TN) - the Bruise Brothers get the win but are jumped by the Moondogs after the match and the five of them beat down on the twins. INT: Bruise Brothers - they cause a bit of a commotion at the announcing desk and one of them brakes a piece of wood over the other’s head. They can take whatever the Moondogs want to dish out and tell them to bring it on. Down & Dirty w/ Daryl Van Horn - the segment opens with some pre-taped comments from Tim Horner who is wearing a neck brace. He doesn’t know what kind of sick stunt Daryl Van Horn is trying to pull with this Egyptian man, mummy, whatever. A few years ago he was seriously injured in Atlanta when he got dropped on his head and the doctors told him if he ever received a strong blow to the neck again he’d be permanently paralyzed. He’s not paralyzed but does have some numbness in his hand and down his arm caused by that blow from Prince Kharis. He’s going to be out a few months but thanks the Dirty White Boy for coming to his aid as even though they haven’t always seen eye to eye, it took a brave man to do so. Back on Down & Dirty (the most popular segment on Smoky Mountain TV!) and Van Horn says that Horner fell at the hands of Prince Kharis and now look at him, he’s going to be serving popcorn at the vending stands for the rest of his life. They would have finished him off permanently if it wasn’t for that piece of Tennessee trash, the Dirty White Boy. The White Boy has angered the Gods, the curse of the pharaohs will reign down on him and that walking yeast infection the Dirty White Girl, but only when they decide. Bobby Blaze wants to try and get some vengeance for Tim Horner and Prince Kharis will be sending out a message when he gets in the ring with him at Christmas Chaos. Next week Van Horn plans to reveal exactly how he found Prince Kharis. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Tammy says that this Triple Threat match at Christmas Chaos is so unfair. Brian is just getting used to being champion and wearing the belt, but now he has to get in the ring with not one, but two idiots. Tracey Smothers couldn’t get the job done before so who says he deserves another title shot? Whilst in her mind the Dirty White Boy never deserved a title shot in the first place and should be wrestling in opening matches. The worst part about it is that she has to look across the ring at the biggest sewer rat she’s ever seen and she just hopes she doesn’t give her rabies. She asks Lee if they can go on vacation that week instead and he says they just might do that. This is the test of all tests for him, but when he steps in the ring with Tracey Smothers and the Dirty White Boy he’s going to do something that has never been done before. Not only is he going to beat two men in one night, but he’s going to do it in the same match. Jimmy Del Ray (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Tracey Smothers - Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch come to ringside to watch the match but are soon followed out there by Tony Anthony and the Dirty White Girl. Tracey climbs to the top turnbuckle ready to hit the jawjacker, when Lee gets on the apron about to interfere. The White Boy pulls him down and gets between him and the ring to make sure that there isn’t any. Smothers hits the jawjacker and becomes the new ‘Beat the Champ’ TV titleholder. Short match, action was good although too short to amount to anything. INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - Bob Caudle questions whether the Dirty White Boy came out to even things up? He says that he didn’t. He can’t stand Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch, they’re not going to get anything over anybody ever again and he’s setting a goal to make their lives a living hell. At Christmas Chaos it’s a Triple Threat match, three men in the ring at the same time all after the SMW Heavyweight title. Tracey Smothers joins them and says that’s the second time the Dirty White Boy has helped him and he’s told him before that he doesn’t want his help, doesn’t need his help and doesn’t want to owe him for anything. Come Christmas Chaos they’ll both be fighting for the same thing and he intends to do whatever he has to in order to become the SMW Heavyweight champion for the third time. 1994-04-02-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired April 2, 1994 Dungannon Elementary School, Dungannon, VA INT: Rock & Roll Express - they start be recapping Brian Lee’s and Chris Candido’s attack on them from last week. We then get a taped interview from Tammy Fytch & Brian Lee & Chris Candido where Tammy says that last week her team pounded the life out of the Rock & Roll Express. That was for Jim Cornette, but this week on today’s show they’re going to do it for themselves and prove that Brian Lee & Chris Candido are the best team in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Ricky Morton says that although the fans are seeing this after the Bluegrass Brawl has taken place, this week’s show has been pre-taped and this may be their last match in SMW. They’re going to make it a good one as it doesn’t matter who you are, you don’t do what Brian Lee and Chris Candido did to the Rock & Roll Express! The Thrillseekers vs Larry Santo & Mike Sampson - Well Dunn come out to watch the match from ringside. The Thrillseekers: Up Close & Personal - sit-down interview talking with The Thrillseekers, but pretty boring over all. They make sure to mention that neither of them are married and Jericho in particular specifies that he doesn’t have a type (gotta give these women hope!) Feature on Bob Armstrong from the Armstrong family reunion show in Marietta, GA INT: Bob Armstrong - says that honour they’ve just seen him receive meant an awful lot to him, but he didn’t have long to enjoy it as all he hears out of Jim Cornette’s mouth is “I’m bringing the mystery man, if I can get rid of Bob Armstrong I can run Smoky Mountain Wrestling again.” Well the mystery to him is who is he going to get? So far he hasn’t got anyone to get the job done and as long as there is breath left in his body he’ll never get it done. Jim Cornette is nothing but a big sack of Scandinavian snake faeces and he’s the man that’s going to jump on him. He tells Cornette that his mother hasn’t got enough money to buy a mystery man who can get the job done and as long as he’s living he’ll stay Commissioner and Cornette will never have his way in Smoky Mountain, that’s a promise! INT: Jim Cornette - Bob Caudle tells him how Bob Armstrong said his mother hasn’t got enough money to get rid of him. Cornette says it wouldn’t cost him 5 cents to get rid of Bob Armstrong because he knows a number of people that will do it for free as he’s made a lot of enemies in pro wrestling with his John Wayne, Marshall Dillon, white knight in shining armour approach to things. He almost ran Smoky Mountain Wrestling one time before, got rid of him and thought it was for good but he rebounded back. He’s one shot left and ‘Bullet’ Bob still doesn’t know who his mystery man is. He’s the most awesome find of his career, bigger than him, meaner than him and stronger than him. Then with Bob Armstrong and the Rock & Roll Express out of the way, nothing is going to stop him from running rough shot over SMW again. Mike Furnas vs Brimstone the Inferno - kept short, but Furnas is still showing no signs of improving Down & Dirty w/ Tammy Fytch - she’s getting sick and tired of that filthy Dirty White Girl sleaze ball always saying she wants to fight. She’s not happy with the mixed matches, she now wants a singles match. Fytch tells her if she gets her little ugly butt out here she can have her singles match, she can have it one on one and she can have that singles match she wants. It doesn’t take long for the White Girl to join them and she’s ready to fight telling Fytch that she wants her right now. Tammy then says she thinks the White Girl may have misunderstood things, as she never said a singles match with ‘her’, at which point the White Girl gets attacked from behind by Peggy Lee Leather. Dutch says how he is fed up of people interrupting Down & Dirty so tries to break things up, but Peggy ends up bodyslamming him much to Bob Caudle’s amusement. Lee Leather continues to beat on the White Girl until the Dirty White Boy makes the save and Peggy backs off. INT: Tammy Fytch & Peggy Lee Leather - Tammy is very pleased with herself. She was tired of the Dirty White Girl saying that she wanted to wrestle her, so she went to the toughest neighbourhood in Atlanta and founder her secret weapon, Peggy Lee Leather. If the White Girl wants to get to her, she’s got to get through Peggy Lee first and Peggy says that was just a small example of what the Dirty White Girl has got coming to her. Prince Kharis (w/ Daryl Van Horn) vs Bobby Blaze INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - when Bob Caudle asks the Dirty White Boy about Prince Kharis, he says that he isn’t worried about that 300lb piece of toilet paper running around here, what he’s concerned with right now is this woman Tammy Fytch has gone and got herself to take care of the Dirty White Girl. Well the White Girl isn’t scared of anybody as long as you come head on and face to face. The White Girl tells Peggy if she wants a match she’s got it. The White Boy says that dynamite comes in small packages and what are you going to do when it blows up in your face. Rock & Roll Express vs Brian Lee & Chris Candido (w/ Tammy Fytch) - double dropkick to Candido and Ricky Morton covers him, but referee Mark Curtis is tied up with Lee and Robert Gibson. Fytch gets in the ring, but Morton sees her coming and starts kissing her, to which Dutch yells “that’s assault, that’s sexual battery!” Candido picks up her purse which she had dropped and nails Morton in the back of the head leading to the three, giving himself and Primetime the surprise win. Good match and Candido worked great with the Rock & Rolls and it establishes the new number one contenders for post-Bluegrass Brawl. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-12-18-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired December 18, 1993 Ash Central High School, Jefferson, NC INT: Rock & Roll Express - they’re facing the Moondogs on today’s show and they can take the wins with the losses, but this is one team of Jim Cornette’s that they’re going to eliminate. Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) vs Paul Lee - Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch join them on commentary for this match and Fytch thinks that the White Girl should’ve joined Margie when she was doing Tammy’s Tips as she wears far too much make-up and looks like a clown. It looks like someone has poured a can of paint over her face, in fact she needs more help than Margie. After the match is over they both go down to the ring and Lee sprays something in the Dirty White Boy’s face. He grabs the White Girl and Tammy starts putting lipstick all over her face and with the White Boy out of it, Tracey Smothers comes to her aid. Dutch Mantel goes over to investigate and Smothers says that he doesn’t like to see a woman treated like that in any shape, form or fashion at all, before telling the White Boy that they are even and he doesn’t owe him nothing any more. Anthony says that what they just did to the Dirty White Girl will not go unanswered. Recap of Jim Cornette, the Heavenly Bodies and Mike Furnas from last week INT: Jim Cornette - says that they may have two ex-Tennessee football players at Christmas Chaos, but it could be five of these rednecks from the audience or ten guys from the soup kitchen, it wouldn’t make any difference as they can’t take the Heavenly Bodies. Mike Furnas has never had a professional wrestling match, he doesn’t know what he’s doing in the ring, he’s going to be a liability and a detriment to his brother and for all intents and purposes Doug’s going to be in there on his own. He may be the world’s strongest man with 18 legitimate world strength records, he may be the big University of Tennessee football star who has played pro football and he may have been this big star in Japan for the last five years, but one man cannot take the Heavenly Bodies. Mike will be an anchor round his brother’s neck, lost in there asking “What do I do next?” and by the time it’s over they will wish they were back playing football. It’s not going to be a homecoming for the Furnas’ at Christmas Chaos, it’s going to be a swansong. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Chris Canyon & Michael Collins - the Bodies continue to attack the jobbers after the match and Mike Furnas wielding the football helmet runs out. He gets in a few awkward looking shots on the Bodies, but is quickly outnumbered. They rip off his University of Tennessee jersey and proceed to beat on him until Bobby Blaze and the Rock & Roll Express make the save. INT: Doug Furnas - video interview. He’s still in Japan and has just had the opportunity to view what happened a few weeks back. He didn’t know that it went down like that as Mike said it was a little misunderstanding, and he thought he could handle it himself. If it was 1-on-1, even 2-on-1 he probably could, but at Christmas Chaos wrestling is out the window, they’re fighting for blood. He would rather have his brother in his corner than any five guys that Jim Cornette has ever managed and guarantees that they’re going to get the Heavenly Bodies and kick his ass too. Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette - Dutch has some comments from The Bullet which he wants to play before hearing from Jim Cornette. The Bullet says that it’s just a few days away until he gets a chance to prove to everyone that he can beat Dick Murdoch, can take Jim Cornette’s money and most of all, can take his hair. He’s going to honour his contract and if he loses he’s going to take off the mask, and if he is Bob Armstrong, he’s history. If he wins though, he’s going to have every Armstrong in the country and every fan of his in Knoxville to make sure that Cornette honours his end of the deal, even if that means they have to surround the ring and make sure he doesn’t leave until he has been shaved bald. Back on Down & Dirty and Cornette doesn’t want to hear these “baldy” chants, but wants to hear some comments from a real man, Dick Murdoch, who he’s had to have his mother buy a house for in order to stop this carnage on Christmas night in Knoxville. Murdoch is in a restaurant bar with a woman drinking another Coors Light. It’s going to cost Mama Cornette a lot of money over the holidays as he’s flying in at great expense to come and whip one of those inbred, nothing happening, melon farming, Tennessee heroes in Bob Armstrong. He knows Armstrong and his snotty nosed kids well. There’s Brad, who whimpers every time he gets whipped and that other one who was in the Marines and fought in Desert Storm, the one who got all his medals by shooting unarmed Iraqi’s. He’s gutless just like his old man! He’s going to drink his beer, have a good time, watch the snow fall and get ready for the holiday season when he’ll be coming to Tennessee to whip Bob Armstrong like a step child. Smoky Mountain Wrestling is probably the only promotion not under federal indictment at the moment as they run a legitimate company, but after Christmas, Mama Cornette, J.C. and himself are going to buy it, run it and make a lot of money! We again return to Down & Dirty and both Dutch and Cornette are still trying to get the crowd to calm down, “Don’t make me turn him loose” warns Dutch as he is holding Cornette back from them. Cornette says he agreed to put up $5,000 of his mother’s money against The Bullet at Christmas Chaos if The Bullet would put his mask up. He bought in Dick Murdoch to beat him so that he will have to take off that mask and Bob Armstrong will then be banished forever, but Smoky Mountain Wrestling slipped something in the contract that he signed, contract tampering if you will, and added a clause that in Knoxville on Christmas night it will be his hair at stake. After all the things he’s done to Bob Armstrong he knows that the final revenge and humiliation he could heap on him would be to beat Dick Murdoch and then shave his head in the middle of the ring. He guarantees Bob Armstrong that he will do anything, will take any measure and will pay any price to see that Dick Murdoch beats him, reveals his identity and gets him banished from SMW for life. Dutch is very funny here sucking up to Cornette as he has a tendency to do. Tracey Smothers vs Larry Santo - Chris Candido joins them on commentary and says that he’s not one to cry and knows that Dutch would never fix anything, but is there a reason why his name has never been picked out the hat for the ‘Beat the Champ’ match? Dutch asks Bob Caudle and he says that it’s luck of the draw, but Candido isn’t buying that. Ever since he has come to Smoky Mountain he’s been involved in these ridiculous matches and it’s a conspiracy against him. Dutch is sure that if his name stays in the hat long enough it will come out eventually, but Candido isn’t sure his name is even in the hat and those Smoky Mountain officials take it out every week after Dutch puts it in. INT: Daryl Van Horn - highlights of Prince Kharis’ match against Tim Horner airs while Van Horn explains how his association with Kharis came to be. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express (highlights, from Survivor Series) The Moondogs (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express - Rex climbs to the top rope ready to splash Ricky but the Bruise Brothers run out with a chair, nail him in the back and he falls to the canvas. The Rock & Rolls hit the double dropkick and then get the win. After the match Cornette gets on the mic and says that they’re not going to stand for that and if the Bruise Brothers want some of the Moondogs come face them now. The brothers don’t need a second invitation and it’s not long before they’re back out and the fight is on. Cornette powders one of the twins and the three of them go to work on them with numerous weapon shots. Cornette is getting in as many shots as the Dogs, while Spot clobbers Mark Curtis with a ‘Stop’ sign. This stuff is already coming off as tired and boring, the beat down seemed to go too long and there was way too much involvement from Cornette. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-10-29-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 29, 1994 Recap of Jim Cornette’s attack on Ron Wright from last week INT: Tony Anthony & Ron Wright - they’ve talked to the Commissioners and the Board of Directors and at Thanksgiving Thunder the two of them will be facing Bruiser Bedlam and Jim Cornette in a tag team match. The Dirty White Boy says it will be an honor to team with Ron and he promises to take care of the Bruiser and will leave Jim Cornette all to him. Ron says that he’s never looked forward to anything as much as he is this match that is coming up. He calls Cornette a droopy drawed, puny looking, pus bellied, potato muscled idiot and tells him that when he gets through with him his own momma isn’t going to be able to recognize him. He’s going to rub Cornette’s nose in the mat, break his face and they’ll be carrying him out of there an ambulance. He and the Dirty White Boy will walk out of that match two happy men, you can take that to the bank! I’ve missed fired up Ron Wright promos but not too sure I want to be seeing him wrestle. He’s not looked good at all (bar throwing a mean looking punch) on the few occasions he’s had to do anything physical, and I would rather have a singles match between the White Boy and Bedlam, where Wright gets to strap Cornette if the White Boy wins. Scott Studd vs Bryant Anderson (w/ Ole Anderson) INT: Bryant & Ole Anderson - Jim Ross was very impressed with that victory but Bryant says he’s not surprised he’s impressed. He’s only been in Smoky Mountain Wrestling for three weeks and is already a champion and it only took him that long because he hadn’t had a shot until now. Ole says that you see an Anderson in this kid and wrestling is what wins around here. They haven’t forgotten Tracey Smothers and hope that he’s been watching, because if he has he will have seen what’s going to be in his future when Bryant gets the arm breaker on him. Smothers joins them and says that they don’t have to dog him whilst he’s out in the back, they can have their match any time. Bryant says that Tracey might be able to beat him on the golf course, but it’ll be a different story when he steps in the ring with him. INT: Bob Armstrong - he’ll be facing Abdullah the Butcher at Thanksgiving Thunder, but before we get some comments from The Bullet they’ve got a video package of Abdullah. Set to War Machine by KISS, we get plenty of clips of Abby in Puerto Rico bloodying up jobbers, facing the likes of Carlos Colon and Bruiser Brody and a pretty grim looking clip of him getting his scarred forehead stitched up. Jim Ross narrates over it and says how the Butcher has not been pinned in the United States in over ten years and how the likes of the WWF and WCW won’t touch him. Very effective piece for getting Abby over as this deranged and crazy madman. Armstrong never dreamed Cornette would get Abdullah the Butcher. He’s had a good run, has beaten everyone Cornette’s bought in and thought he could do it all. What do you do though with a man that weighs 450lbs and is a raging bull from the Sudan? The only thing that is keeping him going is knowing that should he get past the Butcher, Jim Cornette has got to crawl across the ring, and in front of thousands of people kiss his feet. Cornette will be the biggest Thanksgiving Turkey of all and having him kiss his feet is worth more to him than a million dollars. Bob seems far too excited about the prospect of having Cornette kiss his feet. Recap of Tammy Fytch setting Boo Bradley on Scott Studd and Sean Casey from last week INT: Tammy Fytch & Boo Bradley - Jim Ross informs Tammy that due to Boo’s actions last week, Chris Candido’s suspension has been extended for two more weeks. She isn’t happy by this, when Les Thatcher interrupts her and says that the director has just got his attention and at the front office there is a long distance call from Chris Candido who’s holding waiting to speak to her. She thinks that he’s heard about this suspension and is probably furious so she goes to speak to him leaving Boo all alone. Confrontation w/ Cactus Jack & Boo Bradley - Cactus says that he had to take whatever opportunity he could and this was a chance for him to speak to Boo as he sees a lot of mistreatment going on and he deserves better than Tammy Fytch and Chris Candido. He asks him a few questions and it transpires that Boo lives in a dog house in the back garden (although it has a hole and he gets wet), whilst they pay him $6 so he can buy shiny toys. He gives that money to Fytch and Candido to look after though, as they say he isn’t too smart and he wouldn’t want to lose it. Cactus says that it’s about time he puts an end to this and offers Boo his hand. Boo is all confused and says that Chris Candido is his friend and if he becomes friends with Cactus he can’t be friends with Chris. Cactus tells him he is one of the toughest wrestlers in the world, he should have some dignity and he shouldn’t be out here on a chain, eating out of a bowl or living in a dog house. All he has got to do is walk away and he can team with him and they can go after the World tag team titles. Tammy Fytch is back out and she doesn’t know what’s going on but there was no phone call. She tells Boo that she told him not to talk to anyone and then whispers what would happen to him if he did to talk to anyone other than her. At this point Bradley attacks Cactus and the two of them start brawling all around the announcing desk. Eventually Brian Lee and Lance Storm come out to stop Boo beating on Cactus and Tammy tells him that they have to go to the back. I enjoyed this and am starting to like the Boo Bradley character after being real uncertain of him at first. Rechner is doing an excellent job playing him, very softly spoken and ‘simple’ and I’m looking forward to potentila Cactus - Boo matches down the line. Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Chad Austin (from Extreme, PA!) INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam - Jim Ross says that Cornette looks like he hasn’t got a care in the world, when it could in fact be his last go round. Cornette says that it won’t be his last go round, and that guy Bruiser Bedlam just got finished with in the ring is Ron Wright 40 years ago! He’s sick and tired of hearing how Ron Wright was the greatest wrestler in the history of Knoxville and how Ron & Don Wright rode rough shot over all the tag teams. Ron is a second class wrestler and a third class fighter and there ain’t no tough man in Tennessee except Bruiser Bedlam, the man he manages. Ron Wright never beat anyone in his life, now he’s 117 years old and when he was in school they didn’t have history. He told Ron once to act his age and he died! If he wants to relive his glory years, the Bruiser will take care of the Dirty White Boy and he’ll whip him like he did before. He’s going to tear out that hip implant, break that knee and send that arthritis ridden body back to the rest home in Sunnydale where he belongs. Then will the crowning achievement of his career, the ‘Final Conflict’, the last time he’ll ever be able to send someone after Bob Armstrong, for if Abdullah the Butcher beats him at Thanksgiving Thunder he’ll be gone from Smoky Mountain Wrestling forever. He’s going to destroy two legends in one night, and do it with a smile on his face. Good fired up interview from Cornette and you can tell when he’s into it as you can see the sweat on his brow and running down his face, just like it is here. INT: Cactus Jack & Brian Lee & Lance Storm - dressing room interview. Cactus says that maybe Tammy Fytch isn’t doing as good a job at counselling Boo Bradley as she should because apparently Boo doesn’t know that much about him? Well he’s Cactus Jack, and soul mate or not, no-one treats him like that (before head butting a locker). He says that he has commitments all over the world and knows that Brian Lee and Lance Storm have commitments with Candido and Bradley, but he can make it to Thanksgiving Thunder and will be there. He gets on his knees and begs the two of them to work something out as he wants his name on the contract. He harbors no resentment to Boo, he just wants to choke him until his eyes pop out, but it’s all in the name of making him a better person. No-one said this mission he set out on would be easy and it hasn’t been so far. Great stuff from Cactus and the promos have been on fire in this episode. New Jack (w/ D-Lo Brown) vs Ricky Morton - Morton attacks New Jack with a chain even before he’s been introduced and blasts D-Lo too, before getting another shot in on New Jack busting him open. As the two continue to fight Mustafa sneaks in the ring and jumps Ricky from behind for the DQ and they start double teaming him until Robert Gibson evens things up. D-Lo gets in on the action to help out The Gangstas and even though Brian Logan, Sean Casey, Steve Skyfire, Chad Austin, Scott Studd, The Infernos, Lance Storm, Brian Lee and Tracey Smothers all come out to try and keep them apart it’s no good as the show goes off the air with the fight still in progress. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-01-22-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired January 22, 1994 Chihowie High School, Chihowie, VA The Moondogs (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Robbie Eagle & Jason Herd - the Dogs get DQ’d and Herd (who Dutch says is the son of Jim Herd) is the recipient of most of the punishment here with the obligatory chair and weapon shots to the head. INT: Bruise Brothers - they’ve finally got a date and there suspension is up on 2/13, just in time for Sunday Bloody Sunday. They’ve got a steel cage match against the Moondogs, no-ones getting in and no-ones getting out. They don’t know whether the Moondogs have ever been caged up, they have, there’s nowhere to go and they’re coming for them. We return from the interview and the Moondogs are still beating on Robbie Eagle & Jason Herd Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) (jip, from Morristown, TN) - this appears to be a Street Fight as neither man is in their regular wrestling gear. Fytch is up on the apron ready to give Lee her purse, but the White Girl rushes over, grabs it out her hands and gives it to the Dirty White Boy. He clocks Lee with it and covers him to get the win. Fytch is in the ring at this point and the White Boy gets hold of her so that the White Girl can hit her, but Lee nails him from behind with the purse. Lee and Anthony continue to go at it, but with the Dirty White Boy in charge Chris Candido comes out to help Lee and attack the White Boy. They double team him with Fytch cheering them on, until Tracey Smothers makes the save. Fytch ends up spraying something in Tracey’s eyes and the heels continue to beat on them some more leaving them laying in the ring. INT: Tony Anthony - he’s joined by Tracey Smothers. He tells the Dirty White Boy that he is one hell of a man and while they might not like each other but there is some mutual respect there. In this upcoming tag team match against Brian Lee & Chris Candido he promises to fight as hard with him as he did against him, before the two of them shake hands. The White Boy says that he is looking forward to Sunday Bloody Sunday as the match has been signed, it’s a Tennessee Chain match for the SMW Heavyweight title and walking down the aisle in his corner will be the legendary Ron Wright. There is no way he is going to lose on 2/13 with his mentor in his corner and he will walk out of that match the SMW Heavyweight champion. INT: Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette Louie Spiccoli vs Jeff Victory INT: The Bullet - says the contract he signed for Sunday Bloody Sunday is the worst contract he’s ever signed in his career, but he had to in order to get what he wanted. He’s tired of playing games and that’s why he let Cornette choose any stipulation that he wanted. Not only is it a Texas Death match with Terry Funk, a man who has never lost a Texas Death match in his life and whose father invented that type of match, but if he loses, The Bullet is gone forever, Bob Armstrong is gone forever and he has to crawl across the ring and kiss Jim Cornette’s feet. He has to have a friend in high places to get a contract like that done. Terry Funk did beat Bob Armstrong, but he’s yet to beat The Bullet and he’s ready, willing and able to prove that he’s still bad to the bone. Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Dutch starts by recapping and taking a look at the incident that happened last week with Paul Morton. Back on Down & Dirty, and Dutch says a lot of people think Jim Cornette crossed the line last week. Cornette says who cares about that old fossil? He’s a bald headed, nothing happening goof! He’s 124 years old and was a big deal before electricity. He claims that Paul Morton tried to assault him, he put his hands on him first and tried to press charges but they wouldn’t take his statement. He showed him who he was messing with though, as when he struck him he knocked him straight back down. Tom Prichard interrupts and says that he was the one who knocked him down, at which point Cornette corrects himself to say that he was the one who kicked him when he was down! Paul Morton got what he deserved, he started it. The SMW Board of Directors have now added a tag title match against the Rock & Roll Express for Sunday Bloody Sunday, so not only do the Heavenly Bodies have to face the Furnas Brothers, they also have to take on the Rock & Rolls. It’s not fair, but they figure that’s the only way that they will be able to beat the Heavenly Bodies. All this talk of Paul Morton though, people need not worry, he’s okay and here today. Cornette introduces him and it is in fact Jimmy Del Ray doing his best Stevie Wonder impression complete with shades, cane and head swaying. As he continues to insult and make fun of Morton, the Rock & Rolls run out and try to get at Cornette but he runs off out of their way. INT: Chris Candido & Tammy Fytch INT: Mike & Doug Furnas - they say that everybody knows that on 2/13 at Sunday Bloody Sunday the football helmet is on the pole and if they lose they have to wear a University of Alabama football shirt. That isn’t happening as they would rather have their face rubbed in puke than allow that, so the Heavenly Bodies better be ready and they may want to wear something on their heads to protect those coconuts of theirs. INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - the Rock & Roll Express are crazy, they’re trying to kill somebody and everyone around here is letting it go on. Cornette tells the Furnas Brothers that they’re quitters and he’s not worried about them, but if the Rock & Rolls continue to keep pulling tricks like this, he’s not only going to press charges for assault and battery, but he’s going to be seeing his lawyer too. He got to think about things and with Paul Morton now being blind and Robert Gibson’s mother being a deaf mute, if they ever got a romance going the only way they would be able to find each other would be by smell, but that wouldn’t be hard as they both stink! At this point the Rock & Rolls are out again and chase off Cornette and the Bodies. INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton says that in all the years they’ve wrestled Jim Cornette nothing like this has ever happened before. They don’t care about the tag titles anymore and his father told him that one big chance always comes round in life, and Jim Cornette, his chance is coming. Prince Kharis (w/ Daryl Van Horn) vs Jason West INT: Rock & Roll Express, Tony Anthony Chris Candido vs Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) - Tammy Fytch comes down to ringside into the match and Bob and Dutch speculate what the connection is between Candido and her. With Candido in trouble she hands him her purse and he hits the Dirty White Boy with it leading to him getting DQ’d. The White Girl grabs Tammy after the match but Candido comes to her rescue. As Anthony comes round and sees Candido grabbing the White Girl he goes over to them but is jumped from behind by Brian Lee. Primetime clocks the White Boy with his own chain until Tracey Smothers makes the save seeing off Lee and Candido. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-11-27-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired November 27, 1993 Newton Recreation Center, Newton, NC INT: Chris Candido - he says last week everyone saw Bobby Blaze almost kill him; he had a foreign object and beat him with that pillow and feathers! His neck and head still hurt, but today he’s going to be in Killer Kyle’s corner to make sure that Blaze doesn’t use any more foreign objects in his matches. Bobby Blaze vs Killer Kyle (w/ Chris Candido) - Blaze climbs to the top turnbuckle, but Kyle distracts Mark Curtis allowing Candido to hit Blaze over the back and head with this title belt. He falls to the canvas and Kyle covers him to pick up the 1-2-3. INT: Kevin Sullivan - he’s on the beach and carrying a spike. ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong sent him to the isle of exile, but he is fooling no-one hiding behind that mask. If he had paid his doctor’s bills the voices would have stopped and he would be a good guy, a calm guy. Armstrong is going to have to face him in the ‘Four Faces of Fear’ not some errand boy, Terry Funk or Abdullah the Butcher. He doesn’t want to use this spike on him, but the person inside him does. The person inside him who lives to see entrails scattered all over the earth, to see havoc raised, to see tongues bitten and eyeballs hanging out, he wants to do that not Kevin Sullivan, and if only Bob Armstrong had paid the bills he wouldn’t have shown up. Mistakes always come back to haunt you and this one’s really going to hurt Bob Armstrong. I liked this interview. INT: Jim Cornette, Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Fytch says that the Dirty White Girl really makes her nauseous. How can she even call herself a girl? She looks like a sleaze the way that she dresses in all those tight clothes. Tammy thinks that the White Girl’s even got fleas and will have to go to her dermatologist to get some medication for the rash she’ll get when she touches her. Talking of hands, she’s heard that the Dirty Whit Girl has more hands on her than a door knob. Lee says that he put his father, Ron Wright, in the hospital and he’s going to do the same to him, like father like son, side by side in intensive care. Tammy then says that whenever there is a bed involved, you know the Dirty White Girl will be there. Tim Horner vs Chris Canyon Down & Dirty w/ Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - this week’s segment opens by recapping what happened last week when the White Girl was attacked by Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch. Dutch says that a lot of strong comments have been made by Lee and Fytch and he wants to know what the Dirty White Boy has to say about them. Anthony says that talk is cheap and the two of them come out here talking about the Dirty White Boy and the Dirty White Girl, but it doesn’t matter to them as everything has already been said about them before. At Thanksgiving Thunder he’s liable to come to the ring with a beer bottle, liable to come to the ring with a hangman’s noose, but most definitely will be coming to the ring with his chain and just hopes Brian Lee has enough guts to show up. Tammy Fytch may have been talking about her personal life, but the White Girl says that they know a lot about that training bra wearing tramp themselves. The last time the Dirty White Boy was in Memphis he says he was riding in the baddest part of town with some friends when they stopped at a red light. All of a sudden some woman came up to them scratching at the car window and said for $20 you boys could be real, real happy. He got to look at who it was and it was Tammy Fytch. When Dutch asks the White Boy about Tracey Smothers, who also wants to wrestle him, he says any time, any place he doesn’t care, because when it’s all done at the Thanksgiving Thunder he will be the new SMW Heavyweight champion. Recap of Heavenly Bodies vs Bruise Brothers from last week INT: Bruise Brothers - they might have a different attitude and might be going after some different people, but when you step in the ring with the Bruise Brothers it doesn’t make any difference as they’re going to fight, claw, kick, stomp and break every rule they can. The end always justifies the means and they’ll get it on any way they can to get the job done. Heavenly Bodies & Brian Lee (w/ Jim Cornette & Tammy Fytch) vs Rock & Roll Express & Tracey Smothers - solid match that goes longer than the norm for TV. With the faces on top, Cornette starts blowing the whistle which is a signal for the Moondogs to come out. They go straight after the Rock & Rolls and the four of them start brawling around the arena and all the way to the back The Bodies and Lee triple team Smothers until the Bruise Brothers make the save, and they start fighting with the Bodies and they go at it all the way back to the dressing room. This leaves Smothers and Lee all alone and Tracey puts him in the Figure Four as retribution for the leg injury he suffered at his hands. Fytch gets in the ring and nails Smothers in the back of the head with her loaded purse to break the hold. Lee goes to work on Smothers and climbs to the top turnbuckle when out comes Tony Anthony. He throws Lee off the top, clotheslines him over the ropes and Lee gets out of there as he wants no part of the Dirty White Boy. Smothers gets to his feet and the two of them stare at each other while Bob Caudle speculates as to whether the feud is over and whether they are going to shake hands. They continue to eyeball one another until Smothers just gets out the ring and leaves. They’re not friends yet! Great stand-off at the end between the White Boy and Tracey. INT: Bruise Brothers, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl INT: Mike Furnas - he’s not ready to make his debut yet, but he’s training hard with Tim Horner and they’re doing everything they can to get ready. Jim Cornette does us a favour and interrupts him, and tells Bob Caudle that he wants him to do something about the Bruise Brothers as they’re crazy and out of their minds. Furnas and Caudle say that it’s Mike’s time, but Cornette wants to talk about wrestling and not about football and “Mr Touchdown”. He’s sick of hearing that Mike Furnas is training, that Mike Furnas is working out, that Mike Furnas had breakfast today, that Mike Furnas has a zit on his face, this is wrestling not football. As far as he is concerned football has no place in wrestling and he thinks that the people that play it are jerks. He starts going off on Furnas (“You’ve been cut so many times you’ll bleed to death”), the University of Tennessee and high school football until Furnas has had enough and grabs him. He tells him that if he keeps talking to him like that he will take him down to the nearest football field, at which point he is jumped by the Heavenly Bodies. The three of them beat him down before Tom Prichard hits Mike in the leg and knee with a chair several times. Furnas is really bad and his selling in the beat down was almost non-existent at first. I’m guessing the Bodies will be moving on to the Furnas brothers after the Bruise Brothers, but that’s not something I’m looking forward to at the moment. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-11-20-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired November 20, 1993 Newton Recreation Center, Newton, NC INT: Bobby Blaze - he’s carrying a pillow full of feathers with him. Says that Chris Candido embarrassed and humiliated him so he went to the SMW Board of Directors and now, at the Thanksgiving Thunder, he’s going to embarrass him and he will be the biggest turkey of them all. Chris Candido vs Jason West - Candido empties some feathers from a pillow onto West after the match until Bobby Blaze makes the save, and then he starts to throw them over Candido. Recap of Brian Lee vs Tony Anthony from last week Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) vs John Hitchcock - during the match Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch rush out to ringside. Lee grabs the White Girl, holds her in a full nelson and Fytch hits her in the head with her handbag. The White Boy sees what is happening, but they run to the back before he can get his hands on them. No official announcement for the match, but Mark Curtis called for the bell and I think the White Boy won by DQ. INT: Jim Cornette, Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch INT: Kevin Sullivan - he knows The Bullet is ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong and at Thanksgiving Thunder he’s going to meet the man who sent him away, the man who’s Doctor’s bills he wouldn’t pay. He didn’t want to go on that rampage and didn’t want to do what he had to do, but at the ‘Four Faces of Fear’ it’s all legal. He can dismember him, rip off his mask, reach down and rip out his entrails! It’s all legal and they won’t be able to put him away again. INT: The Bullet - he’s still working out in Bob Armstrong’s gym and is just about ready for Thanksgiving Thunder. He’s not wearing his eye patch anymore, his vision is still a bit hazy but he is seeing things and if the referee will just lead him to the ring he will take care of business. Kevin Sullivan tried to take him out but it didn’t work, Jim Cornette tried to take the mask off him but that didn’t work, no-one is going to get the mask. The wrestlers have been talking, the photographers are coming to see whether The Bullet loses his mask. Is it Bob Armstrong or isn’t it Bob Armstrong? Only he knows that, Kevin Sullivan is going to have to prove it but he doesn’t pack the gear to do so! INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - the Dirty White Boy cannot believe that a man who is 6’8” and weighs 300lbs wants to come out and jump on a woman. Where he comes from men just don’t do that. He tells the White Girl that he knows she came to help him but he didn’t think Brian Lee was going to do this, and from now on she’s to stay at home and he’ll take care of this himself. The White Girl says that Tammy Fytch made the biggest mistake of her life when she put her hands on her. They come in a pair and from now on, wherever he goes, she goes. She’s going to kick her butt from one end of the country to the other and this time it’s not a threat, it’s a promise. The White Boy says that Brian Lee has lit the fire, he wants to jump his old lady? Well it’s not going to happen because wherever he goes he’s going to carry his chain, and if he blinks, he’s going to bust him over the head with it. He doesn’t care if the promotion fines or suspends him as no-one touches his old lady and lives to tell about it. If Tammy Fytch gets close to him he’ll have no problem choking her turkey neck to death either. Great stuff from the White Boy. INT: Jim Cornette & The Moondogs - Cornette says that they were fined $5,000 for what happened on TV last week, but all $5,000 is to him is a phone call home to mother and she sent in a cheque and paid for the damage that the Moondogs did. Smoky Mountain Wrestling are once again trying to discriminate, trying to protect the Rock & Roll Express and the people they like. They don’t want the Moondogs wrestling on TV and will even send in SMW security to prevent it from happening. Cornette says that they are going to laugh in the face of authority, they are going to ignore the TV ban that the Moondogs have on them and are going to the ring. Let security and the wrestlers come on out as he would love to see somebody try to get them to leave. The Moondogs head in to the ring and it’s not long before security comes out to try and get them to leave, although Dutch says those guys couldn’t even throw out his grandmother! The Dogs attack the security men and then Chris Canyon, John Hitchcock, Johnny Wild and John Patterson all come out to get beaten up as well. Lots of trash can and ‘Stop’ sign shots to the head as per, but at least no full force chair shots like last week. The Rock & Roll Express eventually come to the ring to stop the attack and use the Dogs weapons against themselves. It’s not long before they get the advantage back and go to work on the Rock & Rolls and they only finally stop and leave when Tim Horner and Tracey Smothers make the save. Personality Profile: Mike Furnas INT: Tim Horner - he’s interrupted by Daryl Van Horn who is giving Horner the chance to back out of Thanksgiving Thunder right now. It’s the best move he could make, as if he showed up for Thanksgiving Thunder all those illegitimate children he fathered up and down the road are going to be sorry they won’t have a daddy anymore. Horner thinks Van Horn is full of crap. He’s not afraid from anyone, has never backed down from anybody and isn’t going to start with him or his Egyptian Prince. Tim Horner vs Robbie Eagle Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Bruise Brothers - after Prichard and one of the twins start fighting on the floor, Cornette gets involved and nails the Bruise Brother in the back with his racket. He doesn’t register the shot and turns his attention to his ex-manager. The distraction allows Prichard to hit the twin with a chair and then Cornette ties him to the ring post with some rope (although this was a struggle). The Bodies double team the other twin in the ring whilst Cornette gets some shots in on the tied up brother. He eventually frees himself, heads to the back and returns with a piece of wood that he breaks over Del Ray and Prichard’s heads. Despite the Bodies double teaming the twin inside the ring for over 90 seconds, it is only when the Bruise Brother uses the piece of wood does he call for the bell. Mark Curtis really comes across as an idiot in an awful lot of the stuff that I have watched in the TV sets. This was a nothing match although there was nothing wrong with the match itself, it was there to just build for the ‘Gang Fight’ series on the Thanksgiving Thunder tour. INT: Rock & Roll Express, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Bob Caudle can’t believe that Lee came out and attacked the Dirty White Girl. Fytch wonders if she has a bit of a headache now, although looking the way that she does has got to hurt! The Dirty White Girl is like Tammy Wynette, standing by her man just like a good little housewife should; she’s nothing like her at all. She’s a well-educated business woman while all the White Girl is good for is washing dishes, doing laundry and that’s it. Lee says she is good for something if you have $10 though and the line is probably all the way out the back now. He can snatch the Dirty White Boy or he can snatch his woman and at Thanksgiving Thunder he can’t wait to get his hands on them again. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-11-13-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired November 13, 1993 Newton Recreation Center, Newton, NC Dutch Mantel casually lights up a cigarette and smokes it on air during the show introduction INT: Tony Anthony - says that he’s bugged and pestered the promoters and finally has a match against Brian Lee for the SMW Heavyweight title on TV today. Bobby Blaze vs Jason West INT: Chris Candido - says how once again Smoky Mountain Wrestling have proved him right in that they’re the most backwards promotion in professional sports. The ‘Turkey title’ match is the most ridiculous thing he’s ever heard. You don’t get a belt, the ‘winner’ of the title gets tarred and feathered? If Bobby Blaze thinks swimming in the river was something, he better be prepared to be tarred and feathered at the Thanksgiving Thunder. INT: Tracey Smothers - he says he’s had a tough last few months. He vowed to get the SMW Heavyweight title back but couldn’t get the job done as its hard enough fighting a guy who is 6’ 6”, 280lbs, but when you add in that Tammy Witch it makes it double tough. He wants the winner of the upcoming Brian Lee vs Dirty White Boy match and doesn’t care who it is. Bob Caudle asks Tracey to stay ringside with them and help provide a little commentary for the match. Smothers says that he knows the Dirty White Boy has a lot of fans now, but it’s still hard for him to accept him as a friend and ally after everything he did to him. He doesn’t like him and has no reason to. Tony Anthony vs Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) - Lee comes out with his arm in a sling and Tammy says that Brian had an accident the other day and shattered his wrist into a million pieces. They have had x-rays, his arm is in a sling and doesn’t think he will be able to defend the title for another six to eight months. The Dirty White Boy tells her if she doesn’t think he’ll hit a cripple she’s wrong and then slugs Lee to get the match underway. Some brass knux fall out of the sling and the White Boy nails Lee with them. Fytch goes to spray something in his face but he grabs her arm and she ends up spraying Mark Curtis in the face instead and he takes a tumble out of the ring in a rather contrived spot. The White Boy starts to spank her but Lee makes the save and the two of them continue to fight until he knocks Anthony out with Tammy’s loaded handbag. Fytch starts slapping and choking him, when out from the back comes the Dirty White Girl who takes a running dive at Tammy and tackles her. Lee rescues his manager and goes after the White Girl until the White Boy saves her from him. INT: Jim Cornette, Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - Anthony says that everybody thinks that the Dirty White Boy is a man with no friends, he’s done a lot of bad things during his career but one person has always stood beside him and that’s the Dirty White Girl. She tells Tammy Fytch that as long as she is around, her or no other bimbo is going to put their hands on the Dirty White Boy. She will go from one end of the country to the other to kick her butt and if Tammy doesn’t think she’ll rip her throat out and spit down her neck she better think again. Anthony tells Lee that he doesn’t have to worry about the Dirty White Girl, he has to worry about him. He’s taken on a lot of big men, has chopped every one of them down and put a lot of them out of professional wrestling. At Thanksgiving Thunder, Brian Lee is going to put that title on the line against him and the Dirty White Girl is going to be in his corner whether he likes it or not. Dirty White Girl looks incredible and an okay promo from her when she gets into it. Rock & Roll Express vs Robbie Eagle & John Hitchcock Down & Dirty w/ Bruise Brothers - this week’s edition opens with a music video of the Bruise Brothers (set to ‘Get A Haircut and Get A Real Job’ by George Thorogood) which Dutch claims to have put together himself. Back on set and Dutch wants the twins to tell everyone what they have got in store for the Heavenly Bodies, who are next on their agenda. They say that it took a lot of guts for Jim Cornette to come and get them from one of the bars in which they run, but he tried to control them, he underpaid them and he treated them like garbage. Now they’ve got a ‘Gang Fight’ coming up, it’s not a wrestling match it’s a fight, and they’re finally going to get their hand on him and the Heavenly Bodies. INT: Jim Cornette & The Moondogs - Cornette says that Smoky Mountain Wrestling is trying to protect their fair haired boys, so he has bought in the Moondogs from the swamps of Louisiana for one reason, and that’s to finish the Rock & Roll Express off once and for all. Smoky Mountain Wrestling says that they are too wild, too crazy, have denied them a license, have denied them access to hotels, motels, restaurants, have barred them and have tried to have them arrested. Nobody does that to Jim Cornette or any tag team that he wants to bring in to SMW. When you have someone on your property that you don’t want there you set the dogs on them, well that’s exactly what he’s doing to the Rock & Roll Express. Unsanctioned Match: The Moondogs (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Johnny Wild & John Patterson - the Dogs stiff these poor guys with unprotected chair shots to the head, hard chair shots to the back, hit them over the head with trash cans and other weapons and just brutalize these two souls. Cornette tries to interview the jobbers, saying that they look like Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, as the Dogs continue to destroy them with weapon and chair shots. Brutal stuff. INT: The Bullet - he’s working out in the gym and is wearing an eye patch after the fireball attack on him (which is replayed). He says that Kevin Sullivan burned all the hair off his eyebrows, burned his eye lashes and he won’t be seeing right for a couple of weeks. He doesn’t have to see right though, all he has to see is an image and he’ll know it’s Kevin Sullivan, and then when he gets his hands on him he’s going to curse the day that caveman invented fire. He knows Jim Cornette is behind this as he’s tried to take him down before but couldn’t do it. Bob Armstrong has come to his rescue and he’s letting him work out in his gym and before this mess is all over, Bob Armstrong will be Commissioner again. INT: Kevin Sullivan - and he’s at the beach again. He questions, why would a grown man run around in a mask? Only if you’re Bob Armstrong and you want to hide from your four idiot children would you do that. Bob Armstrong made a big mistake in his life by not paying for his psychiatrist. He was making real good progress, was becoming a model citizen and was starting to feel good about humanity. Now he has all this built up hatred and problems in his head and it’s due to one man, the man who wouldn’t pay his bills. Mike Furnas training video - Furnas doesn’t look good at all Tim Horner vs Killer Kyle - Daryl Van Horn joins them on commentary for this match and says that Thanksgiving Thunder is going to be hotter than a jalapeno enema. He tells Bob Caudle that when you see Prince Kharis you’re going to be in for a bigger shock than you would have if you watched one of Michael Jackson’s home videos. Tim Horner has had an unremarkable wrestling career and the only reason he’s been able to do anything in Smoky Mountain Wrestling is because he’s willing to cowtell, play step and fetch and kiss the butts of the promoters here. You will never find him or Prince Kharis kissing a butt unless it’s been properly beaten and bloodied by a cat o’nine tails first. Nobody looks good wearing brown lipstick, and Tim Horner looks absolutely ridiculous. INT: Tim Horner - says that just like all the other managers around here, Daryl Van Horn is a leech, trying to find someone to ride on their coat tails to take them to the top so that they can be somebody. He’s heard all about Prince Kharis wanting to come in and fight two men, well he’s going to be coming at him so hard, so fast and from so many different directions that he’s going to think there is two of him. INT: Bruise Brothers, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Fytch goes off on the Dirty White Girl and says who does the Dirty White Boy think he is bringing that sleazy little tramp out here? She can’t believe that the Smoky Mountain Wrestling officials would even let someone as dirty and sleazy as that in the same building with her and she’s going to get a skin rash from the White Girl coming near and touching her. She’s the sleaziest, dirtiest little tramp she’s ever seen in her life. She’s a scumbag and a slut! The White Girl then runs out to get to Fytch charging towards her, but Lee almost loses her over the desk and drops her head first when he picks her up. Tony Anthony is out after her and he nails Lee allowing the White Girl to get free from his grasp and she chases Fytch to the back with Lee and Anthony in pursuit. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-11-06-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired November 6, 1993 Jellico High School, Jellico, TN Dutch Mantel announces that because of what happened last week, the Dirty White Boy has vacated the ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title as he only wants to wrestle one man, and that is Brian Lee. As a result, today will determine a new TV champion and that match will be between Juicy Johnny and Tim Horner. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Chris Comet & Chris Canyon - the Bodies get jumped by the Bruise Brothers just after they’ve been introduced. The twins gets a few shots in before the Bodies roll out the ring and run to the back with the Bruise Brothers in pursuit. INT: Bobby Blaze - says that last week was one of the most embarrassing moments of his wrestling career. Chris Candido takes a lot of pride in that WWA World title and those feathers he wears, so he’s got a match for him at the Thanksgiving Thunder and it’s called the ‘Turkey Title’ match where the loser of the match will become the ‘Turkey champion’ and get tarred and feathered. Blaze does a terrible job of explaining this and I only understood it when Bob Caudle was talking about it later. Tracey Smothers vs Larry Santo - Chris Candido joins them on commentary briefly for this and he too seems a bit confused by the Turkey match Recap of the Moondogs destroying two jobbers in the USWA INT: Rock & Roll Express - like they said previously, they’re not going to back down from nothing and no-one. Ricky Morton is looking forward to Thanksgiving Thunder as last Thanksgiving they kicked the crap out of the Heavenly Bodies and this thanksgiving they’re going to kick the crap out of the Moondogs. Tammy’s Tips - this week it’s ‘makeup’ and we’ll be amazed at how Tammy can make Margie into an acceptable human being, as if she can do it for her, there is hope for everyone at home too! First, before we get into any makeup tips we have to start with something that most people have never done before, and that’s wash your face. Tammy would normally use a gentle moisturizing cleanser, but in this case she’s going to use soap and some old fashioned scrubbing. Tammy is rather impressed with Margie’s ability to wash her face, but then clocks that she hasn’t shaved today. She advises all the girls that have a problem with beards like Margie that they need to use a lot of base makeup. Margie starts to apply it but Tammy thinks that they will need an economy sized tub instead and that Margie will also need a bit of practice at this. Fytch again at times seems as though she’s trying to stop herself laughing for real. Tim Horner vs Juicy Johnny - Darryl Van Horn joins them on commentary for this match. He says how he did ask for two men to wrestle his Egyptian Prince at Thanksgiving Thunder but he couldn’t find two men as everyone was scared. One person was either too brave or too stupid to face him though, and that person is Tim Horner. Bob Caudle asks him what the name of his man is and he says it’s Prince Kharis from Cairo, Egypt, the most feared man in all of wrestling. INT: Tim Horner & Mike Furnas - Horner is looking forward to working with Furnas at some of the upcoming training camps. Bob Caudle and Horner do their best to put over Furnas as an athletic prospect, even better than his brother, although I find that hard to believe. INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette is sick and tired of the Bruise Brothers sticking their noses in their business just like they did earlier. He’s upset about this match they have against them at the Thanksgiving Thunder and that the promotion has already made the arrangements and it didn’t matter if they wanted to be in it or not. This match is a ‘Gang Fight’, it’s no time limit, no DQ, anything goes, you come as you are, can wear what you want and can bring any weapon you want to bring, short of a knife or gun! That’s what has disturbed him as you never know what the Bruise Brothers may have up their sleeves. The most important rule of a ‘Gang Fight’ match though is that pinfalls don’t count and the match is only over when your opponent is flat on his face, out of it and can’t get back to his feet before the count of ten. The only purpose that the referee serves is to make that count and award the winners the match. The Bruise Brothers have backed them into a corner, they’re intimidating, big, strong and crazy, but their advantage is that the Bruise Brothers are just like these low down, white trash, hillbillies in Jellico. They identify with them, are just like them and are never going to be any better than them because there are always guys like Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies to stop them. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Chris Comet & Chris Canyon - the Bruise Brothers jump the Bodies after the match this time and again the Bodies make a quick exit out of there. INT: Bruise Brothers - they’ve got their kind of match at Thanksgiving Thunder in the Gang Fight. They’ve been in a lot of these kind of fights all across the country and a couple of them were even in the ring! It’s going to be blood and guts as they’re going to tear the building down and they guarantee that no-one can put them down for a ten count. INT: The Bullet - taped interview from the dressing room area earlier in the week where he is about to find out who his opponent will be for the Thanksgiving Thunder. A hooded messenger approaches Brian Matthews (who is conducting the interview) and The Bullet and hands a letter to Matthews. It says, “You wanted to know my identity, we have played this game before you and I. I never did get the chance to tell you how much I enjoyed it and now we can play it again. The last time we played together in the Rage in the Cage you were almost out of action for good, but there were so many others around we didn’t get the chance to meet privately. Thanksgiving Thunder you will see the ‘Four Faces of Fear’, all of them will be mine, they’re all my favorite games, and I know you will enjoy them. The Master. PS my follower Renfill has a gift for you and he will give it to you now.” At which point Renfill throws fire in the face of The Bullet. INT: Kevin Sullivan - and he’s at the beach. The producers of Smoky Mountain Wrestling have told him that he can’t say it’s ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong who he will be facing in the ‘Four Faces of Fear’ matches, even though that is who it is. They have said he can’t say he’s going to reach inside him, pull out his entrails and spread them to the four corners of the earth so that his four mistakes (Brad, Scott, Steve and Brian) can go pick them up and try to put them back together. They said he can’t say if he rips off his mask he’s going to reach in and pluck his eyes out and they say he can’t say he’s going to bite ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong’s tongues off. They say he isn’t PC, well he’s always been politically incorrect. In the ‘Four Faces of Fear’ match at the Thanksgiving Thunder he’s going to be real hungry and is going to eat everything up. Recap of Brian Lee vs Tony Anthony from last week and the attack on Ron Wright Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Bobby Blaze - Lee gets the pin after Fytch hits Blaze in the head with her handbag behind referee Mark Curtis’ back. At Fytch’s insistence, Lee then beats on Blaze some more after the match and Fytch slaps him twice which leads to Tony Anthony rushing out to make the save. INT: Tony Anthony & Bobby Blaze - the Dirty White Boy says if anyone is wondering why he came out to help Bobby Blaze, it’s because he has been in the ring with him on many occasions and knows exactly how much guts he’s got, unlike Brian Lee who hasn’t got one gut in his body. The Dirty White Boy has moved back to Bucksnort, TN and is going to be raising all kinds of hell in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. He’s not going to wrestle another man in this organization except Brian Lee and doesn’t care whether he likes it or not. Poor, sweet, old Mr Wright is going to have a knee operation and maybe after crying wolf so many times that’s what happens, but Brian Lee is going to have to keep his eyes open every time he steps in the ring because he’s going to stomp a mud hole in him. They are joined by Tracey Smothers and he tells the White Boy not to expect him to feel sorry for Ron Wright or himself as he’s done a lot of bad things to him in the past. The White Boy says that he doesn’t need any friends because he’s got hate to keep him company. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-10-22-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 22, 1994 Cactus Jack vs Chad Austin Recap of Boo Bradley vs Scott Studd from last week INT: Cactus Jack - says that the first time he looked at Boo Bradley and saw the ugly, twisted face, the horrible, cellulite ridden body it shocked him, because he thought he was looking in the mirror. He believes very strongly in soul mates and could search the world a dozen times over but it would be no use, as he’s found his in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, his name is Boo Bradley and with his help he can help him see the light and stand up on his own. When he says that he’s being mistreated and slapped around, Tammy Fytch comes out to confront him. She doesn’t know who Cactus Jack thinks he is, but he has no business being out there. He cost Boo Bradley the TV title, cost her a whole heap of money and the only people that are allowed to talk to Boo are Chris Candido and herself. Recap of Ricky Morton from the past few weeks after he was attacked on the way to the arena Security video footage of the Rock & Roll Express attacking The Gangstas at a bar. Okay little brawl but not too sure why The Gangstas friends didn’t try to help them and just flapped around trying to separate the two teams? Surely they would’ve been getting involved and throwing some punches and boots to the Rock & Rolls? One thing I do like is how there is always a plausible, legit reason for them having video footage of events that happen outside of the arena. They did it when The Thrillseekers were jumped by the Heavenly Bodies in the car park and they did it again here. INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky says that The Gangstas came into Smoky Mountain Wrestling and said that they’d beaten every tag team across the United States but hadn’t beaten the Rock & Roll Express. They come to SMW and they beat them, but after the match they jumped them with blackjacks. Next they then had a title match with them, which they again won, but The Gangstas got themselves some hot shot lawyer and they had to hand the belts over to them. Finally there was the incident where he got bumped at the side of the road, and while The Gangstas might be the SMW tag team champions, they still haven’t beaten the Rock & Roll Express. He said that they were going to get them and they did. The Gangstas claim that they are these tough street fighters from California, so they go to a bar to fight them and what do they do? They have them arrested. Ricky then challenges them to ‘their’ kind of match, a ‘Ghetto Street Fight’ and if they’re as tough as they claim they’ll bring it on. Good stuff from Ricky here but Robert is silent as ever and doesn’t say a thing. Scott Studd vs Sean Casey - Tammy Fytch joins them on commentary and is still annoyed with what happened last week so sends Boo Bradley to the ring to attack both wrestlers. Boo starts beating on them both when out comes Cactus Jack. Boo stops the attack and starts waving at him which leads to Tammy dragging him out of the ring and to the back whilst berating him. Confrontation w/ Tracey Smothers & Ole & Bryant Anderson - Jim Ross says that they’ve heard a lot of innuendo and rumors about a confrontation that took place when Bryant was in College and he’s here to try and get to the bottom of it. Tracey says that he just went down to UT Chattanooga as a favor to the wrestling coach to help the guys work out. Bryant wonders why someone like him would need help from someone like Tracey? Ole says that Smothers talks about being a sportsman, but when Bryant had someone down on the mat and he jumped him from behind, that wasn’t very sportsmanlike. This confrontation won’t be over until they stop and get rid of Tracey Smothers and a match has been signed between the two of them with no time limit. Tracey says that he is a sportsman and is man enough that if Bryant does beat him, he will shake his hand. Lance Storm & Brian Lee vs George South & Steve Skyfire INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam - Jim Ross hopes that Cornette will give him an honest answer for once in their long relationship and asks who the mystery opponent for Bob Armstrong is at Thanksgiving Thunder? Cornette says that they have had a long relationship, and he’s hated every minute of it! Bob Armstrong has put his foot in it this time, he said that this would be the last time that he would be able to face him, they made that agreement, and he said if his man beats him at the Thanksgiving Thunder he’ll leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling forever. Of course to get that he had to agree to crawl across the ring and kiss his feet should his man lose, but that’s not going to happen as his mystery man who is going to run Bob Armstrong out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling is Abdullah the Butcher. Abdullah the Butcher is insane, he’s a sadist, a masochist, he takes pleasure in pain and has travelled the world and left a trail of carnage, broken bones, fines and suspensions wherever he’s been. No-one will touch him, the WWF won’t, WCW won’t, no-one except him that is! He’s the most blood thirsty animal that’s ever stepped in a wrestling ring and he’s what is in store for Bob Armstrong at Thanksgiving Thunder. Whipping Match: Tony Anthony vs Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette) - prior to the match commencing the Dirty White Boy introduces his surprise for Jim Cornette, Mr. Ron Wright. Cornette trips the White Boy and Wright makes his way round the ring after him. Cornette gets up on the apron to try and get away from him, but Mark Curtis is over to try and get him back down. Bedlam goes to the fallen White Boy, but with Curtis distracted Wright pulls a foreign object out his pocket. He nails the Bruiser in the head with it knocking him out and allowing the White Boy to get the pin. As per the pre-match stipulations they handcuff Bedlam to the turnbuckles and he takes his five lashes, however they only have one pair of handcuffs (I wonder what’s going to happen here?). The Bruiser is released, but before they can put the cuffs on Cornette he attacks Ron Wright. The White Boy forgets about Cornette and goes after Bedlam, but all this does is give Cornette the chance to pull out some powder which he then throws in the White Boy’s face temporarily blinding him. Superman Cornette puts the boots to the Dirty White Boy before decking Mark Curtis and taking the handcuffs from him. Bedlam cuffs Anthony to the bottom rope and then Cornette starts on Wright. He takes the strap and proceeds to repeatedly whip him with it until Tracey Smothers, Brian Lee and Lance Storm come out for the save. About as good as you’ll get from a match involving Bruiser Bedlam. The Dirty White Boy was real good here making it more than watchable, especially on his comeback stretch, but the Bruiser is still terrible. The match was kept short enough that it didn’t drag, and I liked the ending of Cornette getting his comeuppance after being outsmarted by Wright. The post-match angle was great, but Cornette booked himself way too strong here and while I knew it was coming, the fact that he avoided being strapped himself is a further example of him not adhering to stipulations. It’s always nice to see Ron Wright and the promos following this and him trying to gain some revenge on Cornette should be epic. INT: Tony Anthony & Ron Wright - the Dirty White Boy says that Ron Wright is like a father to him and Jim Cornette messed up when he put his hands on him. Ron says that he may not be able to wrestle these top names anymore, but he’s going to get Jim Cornette in a match somehow. Even if the Dirty White Boy has to roll him out there in a wheelchair he’s going to take his head off and he’ll be taking a trip to the hospital! Excellent promos from Wright and the White Boy who finally has a bit more focus after seemingly treading water since the Jake Roberts feud. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-12-04-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired December 4, 1993 ‘Thanksgiving Thunder Special’ Turkey Title Match: Chris Candido vs Bobby Blaze (jip) - Candido gets the pin using the ropes for leverage. He starts mocking Blaze, but he says that he’s a man of his word and will let him tar and feather him. Just as he’s about to pour the tar on him, Sandy Scott from the Board of Directors gets on the house mic and says that Candido was holding the ropes, he saw it on the monitors and is ordering the match to continue. Candido jumps Blaze and tars and feathers him anyway, which brings Scott back out and he fines Candido $1,000. Recap of Heavenly Bodies & Brian Lee vs Rock & Roll Express & Tracey Smothers from last week INT: Tracey Smothers - dressing room interview. The question on Brian Matthews’ mind and a lot of the fans minds is when is he going to make peace with the Dirty White Boy? Smothers says that he has been asking himself that a fair bit recently. He knows the Dirty White Boy has a lot of friends and fans on his side now, but he’s done so many things to him over the past few months that it’s hard for him to accept him as an ally or friend. He tells the White Boy that he doesn’t want his help, doesn’t need his help and doesn’t trust him. INT: Tony Anthony - a Triple Threat match for the SMW Heavyweight title has been signed for Christmas Chaos between the Dirty White Boy, Tracey Smothers and Brian Lee. It will be fought under elimination rules with all three men will be in the ring at the same time. The White Boy wishes that Ron Wright was at ringside for this but he’s still recovering at the moment. It’s the first time in his life that he has ever been in a match like this and he knows he’s going into it without a friend in the world and there’s not going to be a friend in that ring either. Tracey Smothers says the he doesn’t like the Dirty White Boy for all that he’s done, well he expects that from him and isn’t begging anyone to be his friend. The main person that he wants to get his hands on in that ring is Brian Lee as he can’t stand his stinking guts. If he beats Lee in the match it isn’t over, as he then has to pin Tracey Smothers in order to become the SMW Heavyweight champion. He tells them to bring it on down and if Tammy Fytch thinks she’s going to interfere, just look across the ring as the Dirty White Girl will be at ringside. Prince Kharis (w/ Daryl Van Horn) vs Tim Horner (highlights) - a lengthy introduction for Kharis from Van Horn and he finally makes his debut. He looks ridiculous and is supposedly 3,500 years old but this is hardly La Momia from Titanes terrorizing children. Kharis has one move, the choke, and when he is knocked off his feet he sits up as though he is The Undertaker. Van Horn grabs Horner’s ankle distracting him and Kharis adjusts something on his forearm, clocks Horner with it and KO’s him giving him the match. After the bout Kharis puts Horner in the Cobra Clutch and security tries to help but to no luck. The Dirty White Boy runs out and hits Kharis in the back which he no sells before Van Horn tells him to leave. Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Dutch opens by recapping what happened last week with Mike Furnas and Jim Cornette. A video interview from Furnas airs and he has a couple of problems with what happened to him. He’s not a pro wrestler yet and has only been training for a few weeks, while that attack was on 3 on 1. He may not be able to wrestle, but he sure can fight and news of the attack got out and back to his brother. Doug called him up and said to name the time and the place, he’ll be there and they’ll get the job done together. That place is Christmas Chaos and Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies will find out what it’s like to be pushing around the wrong people. Dutch is now joined by Cornette and the Bodies and Cornette struggled to understand what Mike said (didn’t we all!), so will attempt to decipher this fumble mouth, dumb jock, Tennessee Volunteer football playing babble into some kind of English. What he gathers is that they beat up Mike, he got hot, his family got involved, they called up his brother Doug, the big time wrestling star in Japan, he’s going to fly home for Christmas and it will be Mike & Doug Furnas against the Heavenly Bodies at Christmas Chaos. Cornette has been doing some research on them and Doug holds 18 legitimate world strength records, Mike was the fastest guard in college football and they’ve a list of athletic credentials as long as his arm. They’re not scared of a couple of football players though. Tom Prichard says that football players get on a football field with a bunch of pads and they get to wear a helmet to protect themselves. When you get in a wrestling ring, it’s nothing but flesh and bone and they’re not just wrestlers, they’re the Heavenly Bodies, the best. Cornette hates football, hates football players and hates everyone who watches it. Football is for sissies and wrestling is for real men like him and the Heavenly Bodies. Mike Furnas is getting in way over his head and at Christmas Chaos they’re going to find out what happens when you get in the ring with real men. Good stuff from Cornette. Singapore Spike Match: The Bullet vs Kevin Sullivan (jip) - with Sullivan and The Bullet fighting in the corner, Killer Kyle comes down to ringside and opens the unopened boxes and gets hold of the spike. He tries to interfere but The Bullet holds both of them off. Sullivan whips The Bullet towards Kyle who is preparing to spike him, but he reverses it and Kyle spikes Sullivan in the head instead allowing The Bullet to get the pin. This was pretty bad. INT: Jim Cornette - Kevin Sullivan has gone down to defeat at the hands of The Bullet and he still doesn’t have the mask, but that’s just another example of beating someone better that’s better than him because he’s got everyone on his side. He’s got luck that he can’t believe and he’s got the officials on his side, but he wants him out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, out of his life once and for all and will do anything it takes. He wants the mask at stake at Christmas Chaos as he’s going to bring in his good friend Dick Murdoch who he knows can take him out. If he puts the mask on the line he’ll put up anything and he doesn’t care what it is. Except his dog snuffles! INT: The Bullet - says that there is a lot of things that Jim Cornette has that he would love to have and while he has sent lots of bounty hunters after him, Dick Murdoch is the biggest. He does have an idea though, but is going to think about it and will tell everyone next week. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Fytch says that this Triple Threat match is so unfair. One man couldn’t beat Brian so now they’re bringing two men into the ring to try and beat him for the belt. It’s not even going to be 2 on 1, it will be 3 on 1 because that little hussy the Dirty White Girl will be out there and she tries to get her hands on Brian every chance she gets. She’s just jealous because she has that fat, redneck slob to hang around with and she has Brian. It’s not fair and she’s not used to putting up with things she doesn’t like. Lee says that Tracey Smothers couldn’t get the job done, the Dirty White Boy couldn’t get the job done, so what next? Are they going to bring a knife into the ring? Are they going to have ten men against him? Maybe even bring Les Thatcher out of retirement as they can’t get the job done. Tammy Fytch is the first lady of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, he’s the SMW Heavyweight champion and that’s how it’s going to stay. Gang Fight: Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Bruise Brothers (highlights) - Jimmy Del Ray goes for a moonsault bodyblock off the top but he accidentally hits Mark Curtis instead knocking him out. With Prichard and one of the twins fighting on the outside, Cornette sprays ether on a towel (with no DQ why did he wait until Curtis was knocked out?) and smothers the other twin until he passes out. He goes to try and revive Curtis, but the other twin gets hold of him and throws him into a table which had been bought into the ring. He then uses the ether soaked towel on Prichard, wakes up Curtis, rolls his brother out of the ring and Curtis counts Prichard out for ten giving the Bruise Brothers the win. After the match Cornette blows the whistle which is the sign for the Moondogs to come out and the four of them (Prichard is still passed out) beat on the twins. INT: Bruise Brothers - next time they’re going to get the Moondogs and they won’t be coming at them from behind, they’ll be ready and waiting for them. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-10-30-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 30, 1993 Jellico High School, Jellico, TN As always Dutch Mantel draws the name of the challenger for the ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title and today’s challenger is Brian Lee. Lee rushes out followed by Tammy Fytch saying what is Dutch doing drawing his name? He doesn’t need the match, he’s the Heavyweight champion and doesn’t need the money. He tells Dutch to cancel it but Bob Caudle says his name was drawn and those are the rules, while Lee is still adamant he’s not going to face the Dirty White Boy. Steve & Scott Armstrong vs Larry Santo & Juicy Johnny Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch & Ron Wright) vs Tony Anthony - the fans are already cheering the Dirty White Boy who runs to the ring and the fight is on. Great brawl to start with the White Boy in full control and the tide only changes when Lee pushes Ron Wright into him. The Dirty White Boy is busted open after he gets posted and Lee then goes to work on him. Fytch gives Primetime the loaded glove, Anthony ducks a punch and hits the Bucksnort Blaster. As Mark Curtis goes to count the pin, Fytch sprays something in the White Boy’s eyes for the DQ. Lee nails the White Boy with the glove, BUT RON WRIGHT GETS OUT HIS WHEELCHAIR AND INTO THE RING! He gets in one great looking punch on Lee before he too falls victim to the loaded glove. Lee comes off the top turnbuckle twice to Wright’s leg and spits on them both as he and Tammy laugh as they leave them both laying in the ring. The bloodied Dirty White Boy crawls over to Wright, cradles his head and is in tears over what just happened. Very good match and an awesome angle. Considering how hated they were, they have done an incredible job in turning the Dirty White Boy and Ron Wright although a lot of credit does have to go to Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch. INT: Jim Cornette A video airs of what happened during the commercial break where Ron Wright is helped out of the ring and carried back to the dressing room INT: Darryl Van Horn - says that the entire world knows his Egyptian Prince is going to make his debut at the Thanksgiving Thunder tour, but he’s struggling to find an opponent for him. No-one wants to sign on the dotted line as they’ve heard about his legend and that he is the most feared man in Egypt. Just to be fair he has asked the Commissioners to let him make his debut against two men, against any tag team here. It could be the Armstrongs, it could be the Rock & Roll Express (“wouldn’t that be a hoot? That would almost be as much fun as the time I had dinner with Jeffrey Dahmer”), it doesn’t matter to him as when they step in the ring with his Egyptian Prince they are going to fall. Video of the Moondogs destroying two jobbers in the USWA with lots of hard weapon and chair shots to the head and back INT: Rock & Roll Express - they say that the Moondogs are a team that doesn’t care, they will come in the ring and hit you with 2x4’s, chairs, bricks and if they could get a car in there they would run you over with that. Smoky Mountain Wrestling would not even give these guys a license and this match isn’t sanctioned. Morton tells Cornette that they’re not going to turn the match down though, they don’t have to wrestle if they don’t want to, but they’re not going to back down from any team that he throws at them. They are the SMW tag team champions, it’s going to stay that way, and they’re going to do all they can to prevent him from getting hold of those WWF and SMW tag team belts. All those dreams he had are going to slowly start fading away. Tammy’s Tips - this week she’s looking at diet and exercise and will be teaching the ladies (and some of the men) exercises so they can have a slim, sexy body just like hers. She knows that many of them are 100 - 125lbs overweight, but if they follow this program closely, they can look normal no matter how obese, gross and disgusting they may look now. Tammy is dressed in her workout gear and in the park with Margie ready to do some exercises. Before they can do any exercises she wants to know what Margie’s diet is like, “fried chicken, grits and hamburgers,” that explains a lot, she responds Tammy starts with some jumping jacks and high kicks, but when Margie has a go her enormous boobs start bouncing up and down and her shirt rides up exposing her belly. Tammy is not impressed with her poor form and decides to do some running on the spot instead. She tells Margie to run faster (your eyes are again drawn to Margie’s breasts), but she is out of breath very quickly and sits down on the floor. Tammy says that Margie is embarrassing her and is clearly losing all patience with her. She says there will be more Tammy’s Tips next week and promises to make something out of Margie yet, before kicking her over and she ends up rolling down the hill! INT: Chris Candido - he’s down by the river and told everyone that when he won the U.S. Jr. Heavyweight title he was going to throw it in the river where it belonged because he was shocked, amazed and disgusted that Smoky Mountain Wrestling refused to recognize his WWA World championship, yet recognized that ugly piece of garbage. He’s beaten everyone in professional wrestling from Hulk Hogan to Ric Flair to Jushin Liger to J.R. Benson, and is now going to take this belt along with every other belt that he wins and throw them in the river. That way there will be no other title to recognize in the sport of professional wrestling except his WWA World Heavyweight championship. He told that coward Bobby Blaze he could show up to watch, but he didn’t have enough guts. Just as he’s about to throw the belt into the river here comes Bobby Blaze. The two of them start fighting at the river bank and it ends up with Blaze being thrown into the river before chasing off after Candido. Fun segment. INT: Bobby Blaze - and he’s outside not far from where he was thrown in the river. Says what happened to him a few days ago was the most embarrassing and humiliating thing that has ever happened to him in his wrestling career. That U.S. Jr. Heavyweight title was the first title that he ever won and it sickens him to see Chris Candido walking around with it and saying that it has no value whatsoever. He’s going to speak with some of the promoters in Smoky Mountain and see if they can come up with a way to embarrass Candido just like he did him. INT: Mike Furnas - says that he’s Doug Furnas’ brother and a former football player from the University of Tennessee. He has signed a developmental deal with SMW and is looking forward to getting into some camps and learning all about professional wrestling. He is interrupted by Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies and says that he doesn’t want to take too much of their time so leaves. On first look, Furnas seems a strange fit for wrestling, no look and a terrible interview. We shall see how this one develops. INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - they replay the video from last week of what happened with the Bruise Brothers and Cornette isn’t happy at all. It’s not going to be too long before the Moondogs will be here and they’re going to take care of the Rock & Roll Express. They’ve a lot going on in the WWF and the Moondogs will make sure that they don’t have them hounding them every step of the way. Even though Smoky Mountain Wrestling wouldn’t license them, the Rock & Rolls didn’t want anyone to think that they weren’t courageous, that they were chicken, so have agreed to face them anyway and it’s going to be their funeral. He then tells the Bruise Brothers that they are ungrateful. He took them out of one of those biker bars in Florida, gave them a job when they didn’t have one, he raised them up from nothing to be stars in professional wrestling and then they backstab him and the Heavenly Bodies. If they had done their job properly with the Rock & Roll Express none of this would have ever happened. They are labour, he is management, and you don’t tell your boss what to do or embarrass him in public. The Bruise Brothers have a lesson in wrestling coming quick and then they’ll be back in those biker bars and the unemployment line, INT: Bruise Brothers - they came out here and tried to please Jim Cornette but he’s nothing but a snake. The Heavenly Bodies may be better wrestlers than they are, but there’s no-one in the country that can go toe to toe with them. They’ve been in bars, been in jail and have fought with the best but no-one has ever made them back down. Killer Kyle vs The Bullet INT: The Bullet - says that Jim Cornette paid the right price but he got the wrong stud as Killer Kyle was a big man but he didn’t get the job done. Who will he have to face in the ‘Four Faces of Fear’ on the Thanksgiving Thunder tour? He doesn’t care as he’s a crusader, is a man on a mission and his good friend Bob Armstrong is going to be Commissioner again one way or another. INT: Tony Anthony INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Bob Caudle can’t believe that they turned on an old man like Ron Wright. Lee says that the Dirty White Boy can talk the talk but can’t walk the walk. He’s always going to do something, is always going to kick someone’s butt, but what happened? Brian Lee left him in a pile of blood with that old, bald headed, stupid goat lay next to him. Fytch says that there is one thing they’re going to miss though, and that’s Ronnie’s credit card! She’s so glad that they are rid of him as he was nothing but a nuisance and a pain in her neck. Tony Anthony then shows up all bandaged and nails Lee with a chair shot to the head. He tells Lee and Fytch that what they did to him has been done before but done better, but it made him sick to his stomach to see Ron Wright lay in that ring. He renounces his links to New York City and that Bucksnort’s Dirty White Boy is coming after Brian Lee, some dues are going to be paid and he’s the man who he has got to pay them to. The face turn is complete. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-04-09-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired April 9, 1994 The Thrillseekers vs The Hornet & Mike Sampson - Well Dunn joint them on commentary for this match The Thrillseekers music video - Bon Jovi ‘Sleep When I’m Dead’ (the video emphasises that Jericho is this party animal while Lance would rather be tucked up in his bed. Jericho comes across as a right irritant here. The two of them are about to have a beer when they remember the cameras are on them and get two milks instead. Jericho gets slapped across the face by a woman, they get kicked out of a bar and Lance ends up falling asleep in another. Pretty funny overall although some of the acting left a lot to be desired. Handicap Match: Bob Armstrong vs Bruiser Bedlam & Jim Cornette (jip, from Bluegrass Brawl) - Bedlam gets the pin on Armstrong following a double axe handle off the top while Bob is occupied with Cornette. They beat on The Bullet after the match and Bedlam uses a stomach claw on him until Tracey Smothers and Lance Storm make the save. INT: Bob Armstrong - he’s got to hand it to Jim Cornette, he got the job done and this man Bruiser Bedlam is like a rock. He got banged up, beat up, but isn’t going to give up and if he thinks he’s just going to roll over because he got the devil beat out of him he can think again. Every man has a weekness and looking at Bruiser Bedlam he’s going to have to study a long time to find it, but he will find it. INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam - dressing room interview. Cornette is laughing as ‘The Bruiser’ is here! How did he find Bruiser Bedlam? Last August he was in Detroit, MI for Summerslam in his hotel room when the phone rang, he picked it up and a voice at the other end said “Jim Cornette, I want to become a wrestler. I’m big, bad, mean and tough and I like to beat people up.” He was a bit dismissive having heard that so often in the past, but the voice said that he’s in the lobby, just come on down and see what you think. He wanted a laugh so went down to the lobby, but when the door opened what was standing in front of him was as big as a house, strong as an ox and twice as smart. He went over and asked him his name to which he replied “Johnny Bedlam, but my friends call me Bruiser. All I like to do is beat people up and I want to do it for a living.” He kept him back, kept him in hiding waiting for the right moment and that right moment came when he needed to get rid of Bob Armstrong. The Bruiser says that he gets paid to beat them, he’s the baddest and he’ll fight anyone! Cornette is laughing and says that the word bedlam means chaos, pandemonium, a scene of wild mad uproar, and that’s exactly what this man causes ‘bedlam’. Remember the name Bruiser Bedlam because Bob Armstrong sure will. Bedlam looks like an absolute nut job, which it transpires he is, although it’s a shame there appears to be no sign of the Cornette - Armstrong feud going away just yet. If Cornette had him in hiding since Summerslam, why then didn’t he use him instead of the ‘secret weapon’ or why was he paying all this money for hired guns like Terry Funk and Dick Murdoch? There are usually very little holes in SMW booking and storylines, but this is just another example of this feud being tired, played out and beyond stale. Recap of Peggy Lee Leather jumping the Dirty White Girl from last week’s Down & Dirty INT: Dirty White Girl - says the last time she met up with Tammy Fytch she had to go and hire some big moose who drinks beer in a bar to jump her from behind. Next time it’s going to be a little different as she knows she’s coming and will be there to meet her face to face. INT: Tammy Fytch & Peggy Lee Leather - Fytch says that the ‘Ladies Showdown’ is coming up and the Dirty White Girl wanted her singles match and now she’s got it. She doesn’t even understand why they are calling this the ‘Ladies Showdown’ as the Dirty White Girl certainly isn’t a lady and Peggy Lee Leather isn’t much of a lady either; she brawls, she cusses, she even drinks beer! She’s the greatest and Peggy Lee is going to break the Dirty White Girl in half. Peggy says she’s glad that Tammy gave her a call as she likes to hurt people and makes a career out of going all over the world and annihilating people like the Dirty White Girl. When they get in the ring she’s going to squash her like a gnat, then she and Tammy are going to go out and drink some beer. Tammy is wonderful here. Down & Dirty w/ Daryl Van Horn & Prince Kharis - Van Horn says that Prince Kharis is finally getting his due and getting a SMW championship match with the Dirty White Boy. They’ve bought in more Nubian virgins and manservants to make sure the Prince is comfortable for the match. He says how the White Boy seems to think he can do the impossible, do what no-one else has done, and defeat Prince Kharis. Well he can’t be hurt and when he gets done with the Dirty White Boy he’ll be turning tricks for some chicken hawk on the streets of San Francisco, while the Dirty White Girl will go back to her old job as a primary testing subject for the Monstat Corporation. There are people who don’t believe that Prince Kharis is who he says he is, so for the non-believers and to prove he can’t be hurt, he cuts off Prince Kharis’ thumb and sand pours out! Tony Anthony joins them in the ring with the White Boy mocking Van Horn’s chanting. He tells him who does he think he’s trying to fool around here? Trying to get people to believe that this big piece of toilet paper is 3,000 years old. He’s not buying it and he specializes in big men so is not worried about him, before flicking Van Horn’s fez off his head. Kharis goes after the White Boy (rather comically), but he misses and the White Boy unloads with rights knocking him off his feet. Van Horn then throws some sand in the White Boy’s eyes temporarily blinding him. Kharis sits up like he’s the Undertaker, turns his arm and clobbers the Dirty White Boy with it. He then puts Anthony in the cobra clutch until Bobby Blaze, Tracey Smothers and Tim Horner make the save and rescue him. Mike Furnas vs Larry Santo INT: Brian Lee & Chris Candido - Tammy is really, really disgusted! She can’t believe what Ricky Morton did to her, he kissed her, he grossed her out, but they proved who the best team was (they then replay the end of last week’s match). She is going to file sexual assault charges because Ricky Morton took her, forcibly kissed her and she could get AIDS or some other disease. Candido says the reason Morton did that is because he couldn’t even get a date on a tombstone. Brian Lee and he proved who the greatest tag team in wrestling is when they put the Rock & Roll Express down 1-2-3 and he says Brian is the reason why. Lee agrees and says that Chris couldn’t have said it better, he’s the man of the team, the big dog and the general. He tells the Rock & Rolls that anytime they want, they can come down that aisle and get themselves pinned by Mr Candido, Mr Lee and Ms Fytch. Candido doesn’t care how many time World tag team or Smoky Mountain tag team champions they are, they’re the new legends of professional wrestling. Loser Leaves Town Cage Match: Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express (jip, from Bluegrass Brawl) INT: Rock & Roll Express - backstage and they’re being congratulated by Bob Armstrong, Tracey Smothers, Lance Storm and Bobby Blaze. ‘Bullet’ Bob congratulates them on winning one of the hardest fought matches he’s ever seen and he’s glad to have them representing Smoky Mountain Wrestling again as tag team champions. Ricky Morton says that throughout his career he’s never been involved in a match as tough and brutal as that one against Jim Cornette’s Heavenly Bodies and he’d like to thank everyone for never giving up on the Rock & Roll Express and supporting them in every town they went to each and every night. Once again they are the SMW tag team champions, but it never stops as there is a new tag team of Brian Lee & Chris Candido who are coming after these belts. The titles are not going to sit on the shelf though and they’ll defend them every night like the champions that they are. Brian Matthews is waiting to hear from Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies as they’ve called an emergency meeting with the Board of Directors pleading their case about the ‘Loser Leaves Town’ match that took place at the Bluegrass Brawl. Cornette and the Bodies exit the meeting with Jimmy Del Ray slamming the door and Cornette elbowing the wall (I don’t think it went well!). Tom Prichard says that they have been ripped off by the biggest rats in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the Rock & Roll Express and Bob Armstrong. The Heavenly Bodies can no longer stay in SMW, it’s not right and is a conspiracy of the first degree. Cornette says he knew that coming over here to this meeting would be a waste of time, as Bob Armstrong and the Board of Directors have waited for this chance a long time and now they’ve got it. The decision will stand, the stipulation will stand and the Bodies are out of here. Everyone always asks him why he hates the Rock & Roll Express and why he’s been so obsessed with them? For ten long years, all across the country, in every major wrestling promotion, he’s done everything he can to send his teams after them and get them out of professional wrestling. He hates them because he’s devoted his life to this sport, he wanted to be the best, wanted to manage the best and every team he has managed has been the best. Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton, Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane, Stan Lane & Tom Prichard, Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray, they’ve been the best, they’ve been without parallel, nobody can touch them, nobody can stop them, except the Rock & Roll Express. Every time that he got a team that was ready to take the top, the Rock & Rolls were there to take the titles, take the glory, take the attention, to make sure all the fans could come up to him and say your guys are pretty good but the Rock & Rolls are better. He’s done all he can to try and run Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson out of wrestling, they’ve had to endure it all and they never got that last measure of revenge, until now. The Bodies are finished in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and the decision stands. This isn’t the only place they can wrestle, this isn’t the only place they do wrestle, but it’s the only place that they wanted to wrestle because they dominated Smoky Mountain Wrestling, they established Smoky Mountain Wrestling and if it wasn’t for the Heavenly Bodies there wouldn’t be a Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson ruined that, they got their final revenge, after ten years this thing is over and they got what they wanted. Cornette swears that there will be another day, he doesn’t know where and doesn’t know when, but there will be another day between them and the Rock & Roll Express. For the time being you’ve seen the last of Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray and he’s seriously thinking about going with them. Bob Seger’s ‘Famous Final Scene’ starts to play as the Bodies put on their jackets, hug Cornette, collect their bags and walk down the corridor. They take one final look back and then continue down that corridor and out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. The whole presentation of this was awesome. From Cornette’s killer promo, to the ‘Famous Final Scene’, to the last look back and then walking down that corridor. I know they eventually come back, but thank you Heavenly Bodies, it won’t be the same without you. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-10-23-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 23, 1993 Jellico High School, Jellico, TN Rock & Roll Express vs Chris Canyon & Juicy Johnny INT: Heavenly Bodies & Jim Cornette - Cornette says that the Rock & Roll Express have followed them to the WWF. They would follow them to the end of the earth, they’ve dogged them here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and every footstep they took they were right behind them. Well he’s decided to dog them with the Moondogs; the wildest, craziest tag team of all. They will bring anything to the ring, will do anything and they don’t care if they get fined, suspended or banned. All they want to do is chew the Rock & Roll Express up and get them out of their hair. Once they have been decimated and defeated, those belts will be laying there ready for the Heavenly Bodies to pick up. He wants to know who this team is that has requested to face them on TV today for the number one contendership. Bob Caudle says that he is going to find out soon enough, but Cornette wants to find out now. Caudle tells him that they’ll find out when they get in the ring, but that isn’t good enough for Cornette. He isn’t going to take it and isn’t going to leave, they’re going nowhere and will stay all the way through the commercials if they have to. Back from the commercial break and Cornette and the Bodies are still out there wanting to know who this team is. He decides that they’re going to get in the ring now, and dares these “Johnny come lately” to show themselves and they will beat them just like they’ve beaten everybody else. They make their way into the ring and then the Immigrant Song hits (to a decent pop) and out rush the Bruise Brothers and slide their way into the ring. Dutch Mantel says that he has got to check this out and he too heads into the ring. He asks the twins what is going on. They want to prove to Jim Cornette that they’re still the top tag team in the country and that he should be taking them to the WWF. The best way to prove this was for them to go head to head with the Heavenly Bodies and let the best team win. The penny drops and Cornette says that they are the team who went to the Board of Directors and got this contract just so they could get in the ring with the Heavenly Bodies? He reminds them that he is management while they are labour. He gave them a job to do and when you don’t do that job, you get demoted, docked or fired. They’re lucky that they didn’t get fired, he made an example out of them, put them on the sideline and told them to watch and learn from the best. Instead of listening to what their boss said they took matters into their own hands. He tells them that they’ve embarrassed him out here and if they pull another stunt like this he’s going to make sure they’re back in one of those biker bars where he found them. This results in one of the twins shoving them and the two teams square off. Cornette backtracks, apologizes and says that he shouldn’t have said that, he just lost his head. He thinks it would be best if they have the match like they say. He throws his tennis racket out the ring, says may the best team win and again apologizes profusely. It’s all a ruse though as he makes out he is about to leave but powders one of the twins in the face. They triple team the other twin with Cornette getting some solid racket shots in, before the other Bruise Brother regains his sight and they chase the Bodies to the back. INT: Tracey Smothers, Rock & Roll Express One of the security guards comes out to Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel and tells them that the fight is still going on and they’re killing each other back there. Almost immediately the Heavenly Bodies and Jim Cornette return to the arena with the Bruise Brothers chasing them. The likes of Juicy Johnny, Chris Canyon, Chris Comet and Larry Santo try to separate them, but to no avail with Cornette attacking them with his racket. They brawl out into the parking lot but it’s dark and a struggle to make out what is going on, before the twins make their way back inside and over to Bob and Dutch. They say that they’re the best in professional wrestling and no-one talks to them like that. They might not be the best wrestlers, but no-one can stand toe to toe with them. Jim Cornette is going to learn that and if they get their hands on him they’re going to break him into a million pieces. Wild brawl and the Bruise Brothers looked real good in this. Not sure on them as faces, but a decent little promo the twins and Cornette was excellent in the build up to the split as you would expect from him. Tony Anthony vs Larry Santo INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch & Ron Wright - Tammy says that Ronnie has been such a sweetheart buying her all these gifts, diamonds, a new bracelet and a new necklace (all while Lee is flashing Wright’s credit card in the background again). They’re not really worried about the Dirty White Boy because they know how to treat Ronnie and he’s on new medication and feels better than ever before. Bob Caudle asks Wright if he misses the Dirty White Boy but Ron starts rambling and talking about his brother and the various titles he has won. He starts repeating himself and can’t remember things and it is as if he is losing his mind. As this is going on, Lee and Fytch are laughing and making faces behind his back as though their plan is working. Wright says he thinks he wants to go home, when out rushes the Dirty White Boy who says that he is taking him home with him. Fytch says Ronnie doesn’t want to go home with him and wants to go home with them, which he agrees with. The White Boy tells them if either of them hurt Wright in any way there will be hell to pay. This turn is being done so well and Lee and Fytch are coming across as the biggest pieces of shit you could imagine using and exploiting Wright like this. Tracey Smothers vs Chris Comet INT: Tracey Smothers - says there’s a triangle now involving the SMW Heavyweight title between him, the Dirty White Boy and Brian Lee. He saw what happened earlier and everyone said poor old Ron Wright, poor old Dirty White Boy but he doesn’t give two cents about those guys and is going to back Brian Lee into a corner so that he can get his Heavyweight title back. Tammy’s Tips - this week Tammy is looking at ‘dining etiquette’ as although it probably hasn’t happened yet, one of these days ladies, before you die, you will be asked out by a man and he may want to take you out to dinner. She has told Margie that she is preparing chicken kiev, parsley potatoes, a vegetable medley and salad and she should be with her any minute. Margie turns up but couldn’t find any chicken so has bought deep fried chicken instead. Tammy isn’t impressed! Margie is struggling with what fork to use for her salad and when Tammy tells her to eat her chicken she picks it up with her hands and is then even more disgusted. She tells her that a lady never eats anything with her hands and you should always use a knife and fork. Margie then finds it tough to cut the chicken and Tammy says that a woman with her figure shouldn’t eat fried food anyway! Next week it is diet and exercise tips. Tammy is wonderful in these segments, so patronizing and condescending to everyone. INT: Daryl Van Horn - all the paperwork has been signed, the right palms have been greased and the backs have been rubbed. They’re getting together a group of nubian princesses to tend to his Egyptian Prince’s needs and he’s going to make his debut at the Thanksgiving Thunder tour. He is putting together a harem for his Prince that includes Vanessa Del Rio, Nina Hartley, Amber & Ginger Lynne, Traci Lords, the list goes on and these people better start showing him and his man some respect. He’s going to change the face of Smoky Mountain Wrestling as we know it and all he needs to do now is find their first victim. Bobby Blaze vs Chris Candido - Candido gets the pin after hitting Blaze with a chain wrapped around his fist to become the new U.S. Jr. Heavyweight champion. Very good match that saw Candido takes a suplex over the top rope to the gym floor and Blaze follow up with a crossbody off the turnbuckle to the floor at one point. Shame there wasn’t a clean finish, though I should know better by now. INT: Chris Candido - he told everybody that he would win this crummy belt and it’s going to go right where it belongs, at the bottom of the river. Smoky Mountain Wrestling will then have no choice but to recognize his ‘real’ World championship. INT: Jim Cornette INT: The Bullet - says he’s ready for the Thanksgiving Thunder tour and is in the hot seat as he’s accepted the challenge from Jim Cornette for the ‘Four Faces of Fear’ match. He doesn’t care what kind of match it is as he’s a man on a mission, and that is to put Bob Armstrong back in the Commissioner’s chair where he belongs. Jim Cornette may think that he’s got him over a barrel, but when you fight for the right, you can go a long, long way. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-10-16-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 16, 1993 ‘Parade of Champions Special’ Daryl Van Horn joins Dutch Mantel and the returning Bob Caudle to host this episode Chris Candido vs Bobby Blaze (jip, from Knoxville, TN) - Blaze regains the U.S. Jr. Heavyweight title after he dives off the top turnbuckle over Candido and catches his with a sunset flip. Bobby Blaze vs Chris Candido (jip, from Barbourville, KY) - Candido hotshots Blaze into the top turnbuckle to regain the belt himself. Chris Candido vs Bobby Blaze (jip, from Johnson City, TN) - Blaze small packages Candido to win the title once more. INT: Tracey Smothers, Rock & Roll Express Tony Anthony vs Tim Horner (highlights, from Barbourville, KY) - The Dirty White Boy gets the pin after pulling Horner’s trunks. INT: Tony Anthony - says that after that win it makes him the number one contender for the SMW Heavyweight title. He doesn’t like Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch, so he’s going to have to beat Lee, get his title back and run him out of town and that way he will be able to get his manager back. Bob Caudle says that Tracey Smothers doesn’t like Brian Lee, the Dirty White Boy doesn’t like Brian Lee, does that mean something is going on between he and Smothers? The White Boy says absolutely not. They have nothing in common, and as far as Tracey Smothers is concerned, he’s just someone else standing in his way. He’s coming after that Heavyweight title and is coming to get his manager back. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Tracey Smothers (w/ Sherri Martel) (highlights, from Knoxville, TN) - Smothers with the jawjacker and Fytch puts Lee’s foot on the ropes. Sherri starts to stalk Tammy and Mark Curtis gets out of the ring to stop her. Lee with a DDT and then Fytch throws her bag to Primetime. Sherri has had enough and finally gets her hands on Fytch (to a great reaction). Smothers with a sleeper on Lee, but he nails him in the head with a foreign object he took from the bag and rolls him up for the pin. Sherri jumps on Primetime’s back after the match and just as he is about to hit her, Tracey makes the save. The two of them fight again until Sherri slaps Lee and he rolls out of the ring. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch & Ron Wright - Bob Caudle says how the Dirty White Boy has said that he has earned a shot at the title, but Lee says that he’s the one who says whether you get a shot at the title not him. He’s just like Tracey Smothers, he should be picking tobacco or riding a tractor somewhere and should get out of professional wrestling. Maybe one day he might give him a title shot, but right now he has bigger fish to fry. Fytch shows off the new dress that Ronnie has bought her and she says he’s showing his gratitude because they’re taking such good care of him. They’ve taken him into their home, they’re feeding him and clothing him because the Dirty White Boy couldn’t do the job. Fytch says that Ronnie has bought her this dress and a rolex all while Lee is flashing Wright’s credit card behind his back. Last night she was sat on tiger’s lap and he is just about to sign those adoption papers so she can become part of the family. Lee asks whether he is going to sign the will too, but Fytch cuts him off and tells him they’ll talk about that later. The Bullet vs Killer Kyle (w/ Jim Cornette) (from Johnson City, TN) - Cornette throws his tennis racket to Kyle, but as he tries to pick it up The Bullet schoolboys him for the win. Cornette powders The Bullet after the match and as Kyle tries to pull off his mask Cornette waffles him with the racket. They manage to remove his mask but the Rock & Roll Express rush out and come to his aid handing him a towel before Cornette and Kyle are able to ‘prove’ it’s Bob Armstrong. Rock & Roll Express vs Steve & Scott Armstrong (jip, from Johnson City, TN) - the Heavenly Bodies jump Ricky Morton and Steve Armstrong goes to help Morton out as Robert Gibson and Scott Armstrong continue to battle it out in the ring. They eventually see what is happening and go to help their respective partners. Both teams are counted out so a typically unsatisfactory finish, but what aired looked real good. INT: Rock & Roll Express & The Bullet - dressing room interview. Ricky Morton is sick and tired of Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies jacking people around. It doesn’t matter where they go now, they’re going to be there to end things. The Bullet can understand why his good friend Bob Armstrong had the Rock & Roll Express in his Army because they’re good men and he appreciates them saving him. He tells Jim Cornette that this mask will not come off until Bob Armstrong’s name has been cleared. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rick & Scott Steiner (highlights, form Barbourville, KY) - the Steiners are accompanied by their pitbull Arnold who is a feisty thing (according to the Observer he legit bit both Cornette and Tom Prichard during the tour, which is no surprise in the slightest when you see him). Arnold is tied to the bottom turnbuckle and is at times in the ring as the action is going on, while the match is similar in places to their one at Summerslam. Del Ray ducks a clothesline from Scott and he hits Mark Curtis with it instead. Scott with a Frankensteiner to Del Ray and he makes the cover, not sure why seeing only seconds earlier he had taken out Curtis and he was still laid out at this point. Cornette gets in the ring and nails Scott in the back with his tennis racket and then pulls Del Ray on top of him. He shakes Curtis to wake him up, who starts to count the fall but just as he is about hit the mat for the third time he spots the racket in the ring and stops. The Bodies double team Scott but Rick grabs the racket and starts hitting them with it. Cornette powders Rick and they go to work on him until Scott gets Arnold and he then clears the ring. The Bodies end up winning the match as the Steiners were DQ’d when Rick used the racket, although no idea therefore why Curtis either stopped the count or didn’t DQ the Bodies when he first saw the racket in the ring. INT: Heavenly Bodies & Jim Cornette - Cornette says the Steiners thought that they were going to come to Smoky Mountain Wrestling and bring their big, bad reputation and take care of them, but they showed and handled them better than anyone else ever has. Cornette says that the Steiners proved that it takes a good team to beat them, but it doesn’t take them long! He can’t believe that the Rock & Roll Express are so consumed with jealousy that they’ve followed the Heavenly Bodies all the way to the WWF. They’re up there, beating up the big boys, getting in line for a World title shot and what happens? The Rock & Roll Express, after all these years of never wanting to go to the WWF, all of a sudden now show up! It’s pure and simply to try and keep the Heavenly Bodies from getting what they want up there, just like they’re trying to keep them from getting what they want down here. He has made a few phone calls though and has a tag team coming to Smoky Mountain in the next few weeks that’s going to take care of them. This is a team so wild and so crazy that they’ve been banned, fined, suspended, denied licenses and denied access to hotels and motels. They are so crazy that no-one wants them around. They’re coming to Smoky Mountain Wrestling and they’re going to keep the Rock & Roll Express out of their hair so that they can go to the WWF and win the tag team titles there, and when they come back, there will be nothing left of Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson and they can pick up the SMW belts too. When Bob Caudle asks him about the Bruise Brothers he says that it’s not often he has failures, but he bought them in to do a job and they didn’t do that job correctly. When you don’t do a job correctly you get demoted and that’s where the Bruise Brothers are now, they’re still on probation and observing the top tag teams to learn what to do. Caudle tells him that a tag team has contacted SMW and have asked for, and received, a match against his men to determine who the number one contender’s are. Cornette tried to find out who it is but Caudle doesn’t know. He then decides that he doesn’t care who it is and this team has no business coming to Smoky Mountain, where they dominate, to demand anything much less be given a shot against them on TV. He keeps track of every top team in the world of wrestling and if it was anyone important he would know about it. It’s probably a couple of “Johnny come lately” and they’ll take care of them next week before going on to bigger things in the future. INT: Jim Cornette, Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch INT: Daryl Van Horn - says he has come to Smoky Mountain Wrestling from the University of Cairo and will be bringing in a 7ft, 350lb Egyptian Prince. He has just got off the phone to his lawyers from his corporate offices on the corner of Libido & Cleavage in New Jersey and they have assured him that palms have been greased, they’ve dealt with the Consulate, they’ve dealt with the Embassy and it’s almost time to bring his Prince in. It takes a lot of time and talent, but he has the lawyers to do it. In fact they once got a sodomy charge reduced to tailgating! This man is a renaissance man, he will change the face of pro wrestling and he will do whatever it takes to bring him in. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-10-09-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 9, 1993 Dutch Mantel is not happy as this week there will be the debut of Tammy’s Tips which has replaced Down & Dirty. He knew that when they impeached Jim Cornette things like this would happen and is not happy at all. Rock & Roll Express vs Dark Secret & Robbie Eagle INT: Daryl Van Horn - Les Thatcher is trying to find out a little more about this wrestler that he is going to manage. Van Horn says that he doesn’t want to give too much away about his find, but he stands nearly 7 feet tall, weighs 350lbs and there is nothing like him in the world and certainly nothing like him in the Smoky Mountain area. No-one has ever seen this man before because he has never stepped foot in a wrestling ring in his life. He has never wrestled but he doesn’t have to, as he has bathed in the blood of the Nile, he has consorted with Queens, has sipped wine from the tears of 1,000 virgins and has transcended everything these hillbillies have come to think of as a wrestler. In just a few short weeks, as soon as he gets the paperwork through, he will change the history of pro wrestling forever. Tim Horner vs Jason West INT: The Bullet - says everybody that watched Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV knows why The Bullet is on the scene. Jim Cornette dragged his good friend Bob Armstrong though the mud, gave him a raw deal, bought in secret weapons and Terry Funk and messed him around real good. He’s a personal friend of Bob Armstrong’s, isn’t going to stand for it and is going to do everything he can to restore him to his rightful position of Commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. INT: Jim Cornette - says if anybody thinks that no good stinking Bob Armstrong is fooling anybody, they are out of their mind. He’s sick and tired of being abused like this from all these rednecks, all these people in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and all these people who think they are going to get one up on Jim Cornette. Killer Kyle has the number of ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong and all they’ve got to do is prove it and he’ll be out of here for good. The sock is coming off and coming off quick! INT: Tracey Smothers, Rock & Roll Express INT: Tracey Smothers - he’s got a ‘Coal Miner’s Glove’ match against Brian Lee later in the show, but tomorrow afternoon in Johnson City at the Parade of Champions he has a chance to regain the Heavyweight title. Johnson City is where Brian Lee turned on him, it’s where he took the title, and it’s where the Dirty White Boy helped hurt his leg. It’s still pretty sore but he’s going to hang in there. He’s going to knock him out with that glove today and tomorrow he’ll be the new SMW Heavyweight champion and Sensational Sherri is going to bust up Tammy Fytch. Tony Anthony vs Chris Canyon Recap of Tony Anthony vs Dark Secret and when the White Boy refused to help Brian Lee against Tracey Smothers from last week INT: Tony Anthony - says that there’s a lot of things going on, but what’s bothering him the most is that he wants his manager back. That blatant little hussy is screwing with Ron Wright’s mind and he doesn’t know if she is giving him the right kind of pills, if she’s really taking care of him or what. He’s getting a little tired of Brian Lee’s fat mouth and is also getting tired of Tracey Smothers. He wants his manager back, he wants his manager’s $20,000 back and if anyone is going to put Tracey Smothers out of action it’s him. Good stuff from the Dirty White Boy. Tammy’s Tips - she knows that many people in the Smoky Mountain area are underprivileged, don’t know what it’s like to live in the big city, haven’t had the advantages that she has had and are poor. So she wants to do something to help them as she, like Hilary Clinton, strongly believes in charity work. Many people have come up to her and asked how can they be as beautiful as she is? Well she can’t work miracles but can give them the benefit of her knowledge on makeup, exercise, skin and nail care and social graces. In weeks to come she plans on taking a typical average woman from this area and transforming her into an acceptable human being. This week she will be looking at ‘skin and nail care’ and is joined by Margie who is 29 and from Norton, NC. Tammy isn’t happy that Margie is wearing black nail polish until she realises it’s not nail polish at all, and it’s from her job of weighing garbage. She decides to skip the nail care, but then is not impressed with the type of soap that Margie uses so decides to skip that too. She introduces Margie and everyone to the concept of deodorant and that people use it to help them from perspiring. She asks Margie if she’d like to use it, but she doesn’t appear to know what to do with it as she sprays it over her clothes. They move on to perfume (“it helps you to keep smelling sweet and ladylike”) but Margie has never seen perfume before. She again tries to use it, but similar to the deodorant, sprays it under her arms and over her clothes. Tammy is exasperated (although appears to be trying not to laugh for real) and tells the ladies that these items are all available in stores, but doesn’t think you would be able to use food stamps to get them. Rick & Scott Steiner and Heavenly Bodies music video INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - says tomorrow in Johnson City, the Steiners are going to find out not only who is the best tag team in SMW, not only who is the best tag team in the WWF, but who is the best tag team in the world of wrestling. Any federation that thinks they’ve got the top talent, they come in, they see and they conquer, and that’s exactly what they’re going to do when the Steiners come to their backyard, Arnold or not. Cornette says that the Rock & Roll Express will fall as they’re wearing those tag titles again, but it will only be for a short time as the Heavenly Bodies will swoop down on them once more. They are interrupted by the Bruise Brothers who say that they’ve been coming out week after week and showing everyone that they are the number one tag team in the country. They ask Cornette to please give them another shot against the Rock & Roll Express, they will bring the belts back and he doesn’t need to send the Heavenly Bodies. Cornette says that he trusted them when they won the belts to keep the titles away from the Rock & Rolls, but they dropped the ball and have been put on probation so he’s sending the ‘A-Team’ in. They’re going to show the Bruise Brothers how it’s done. You learn, you observe, you listen to him and apply yourself, then once again you’ll be at the top of professional wrestling. Right now they’re second string, but one of these days they will be front line. INT: Bobby Blaze - he just wants to thank all of these great fans for getting behind him, the new U.S. Jr. Heavyweight champion. Chris Candido may beat him someday, but he’ll never throw the U.S. Jr. belt into the river, the only way he’ll ever do that is over his dead body. Coal Miner’s Glove Match: Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch & Ron Wright) vs Tracey Smothers - Smothers and Lee clash heads and knock each other out. Fytch gets up on the apron distracting Mark Curtis allowing Tony Anthony to run to the ring, climb the pole and retrieve the Coal Miner’s Glove. He puts it on his fist and comes off the top rope, but Smothers moves out the way and he strikes Lee instead allowing Tracey to get the pin. INT: Jim Cornette, Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch & Ron Wright & Tony Anthony - Lee questions as to whether the Dirty White Boy stupid? He had Tracey Smothers beat. Although the White Boy says that it sure didn’t look like he was going to do much lay flat on his back in the ring. Ron tells the Dirty White Boy to calm down and that they have their best interests at heart, he just doesn’t realise it yet and is even thinking about adopting Tammy. The White Boy calls him a senile old fool and what does he think he’s playing at? Wright tells him that he can’t talk to him like that and to try and work all this out. Fytch continues to rub it in the White Boy’s face and says that if he does adopt her, with Ron being like a father figure to him, that’ll make her his sister! The White Boy almost goes after her before telling Wright they’re going to have to talk whe he gets himself away from this hussy. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1993-10-02-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 2, 1993 Garden High School, Oakwood, VA Tracey Smothers vs Robbie Eagle INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch & Ron Wright - Lee says that at the Parade of Champions this week he’s finally going to get the job done once and for all for Mr. Ron Wright. He’s tired of hearing Tracey Smothers run his mouth and is tired of hearing all these accusations about Tammy and himself. Fytch says that Sensational Sherri makes her nauseous, she’s been on more street corners than the New York Times and can’t believe she even has to be associated with a rat like her. She doesn’t want to speak about her any more though, what she does want to speak about is the piece of jewellery that Ronnie bought for her. Actually she picked it out, but it was Ronnie’s credit card that paid for it. Wright says that only if he could get hold of the Dirty White Boy and explain to him what a nicer person Tammy is than he thinks, but he doesn’t have a phone in his room and can’t even call him. Fytch tells Ronnie that he doesn’t have to worry about that as they call him every day to let him know that he is just fine. They clearly don’t. Recap of Bob Armstrong vs Terry Funk and Bob Armstrong vs The Black Ninja INT: Bob Armstrong - he has just been in a meeting with the Smoky Mountain Board of Directors pleading with them to get the decision of the ‘Loser Leaves Town’ match overturned. He’s talked to them until he was blue in the face and they’re not going to reverse the decision. Their argument is that he signed a contract, and while he agrees with this, he wasn’t happy with the outcome, didn’t like the way he lost and wouldn’t be here crying if he lost fair and square. You won’t be seeing Bob Armstrong in Smoky Mountain Wrestling ever again, not as Commissioner and not as a wrestler. He does have a friend though, someone he has known for years, someone who has been keeping up with everything he has been going through and he is going to get him right now. Armstrong goes back into the Conference Room where he was meeting with the Board of Directors, then a few seconds later ‘The Bullet’ (Bob Armstrong in a mask) comes back out. The one thing the Board of Directors of Smoky Mountain Wrestling did do is make him an iron clad promise that ‘The Bullet’ is able to wrestling in SMW for as long as he wants to and he promises Jim Cornette that he is going to get him. INT: Jim Cornette - says they are trying to hornswoggle him and he doesn’t enjoy being hornswoggled! That’s Bob Armstrong, everybody knows it and there is no way he should be allowed to do something like that. They’ve impeached him, tried to have him arrested, but they’re not getting away with it. That’s Bob Armstrong and he’s going to prove it. INT: Scott Armstrong, The Bullet INT: Daryl Van Horn - says he’s been a lot of places and done a lot of things, most of which they can’t discuss on television. One thing that he’s always wanted to do, and something he’s dabbled with over the years but to little success, is to be a wrestling manager. Well his fortunes have changed. He’s just returned from the University of Cairo in Egypt where he studied archaeology, Egyptology, necrophilia and parapsychology. While he was there he had an epiphany and came upon the one man who could propel him to the forefront of professional wrestling. He is unlike anything these rednecks have ever seen in their lives. He can’t be hurt, he can’t be stopped, is a member of the Egyptian royal family and what better place for him to make his debut than right here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. While he would rather go bobbing for apples in a colostomy bag than deal with a bunch of redneck crackers on a nightly basis, SMW is where it’s at and his man is going to be here in a few short weeks and is going to change the face of professional wrestling as we know it. Excellent delivery and debut appearance from Van Horn. Killer Kyle vs Gator McAllister - Jim Cornette joins them on commentary and he has been in touch with the Smoky Mountain Board of Directors himself. He knows that it is Bob Armstrong under that mask just as everyone else does, and this is just another con job to work on him so that they can get Jim Cornette at a disadvantage. He has a written contract with Bob Armstrong’s signature on saying that he would leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling forever if he lost that match and that’s exactly what he should have done. If he takes that mask off The Bullet to reveal its Bob Armstrong and they do not ban him forever, then this company will be bankrupt, because if he can’t run it he’ll ruin it. Killer Kyle has been on vacation and he’s the man he is sending after The Bullet to unmask him. Down & Dirty w/ Rock & Roll Express - Dutch opens by recapping what happened in last week’s Robert Gibson vs Tony Anthony match and the post-match involving the Heavenly Bodies, Ricky Morton and Scott Armstrong. Gibson says that last week was a misunderstanding and all he saw was Scott stood over Ricky with a chair. He’s now seen the video and it wasn’t Scott at all who left him laying it was the Heavenly Bodies. Dutch continues to stir the pot and questions if the Rock & Rolls would be saying the same if Scott had levelled Ricky with that chair? Morton says that it is people like Dutch who turn friends against friends with their constant stirring, to which Dutch denies any knowledge of doing. This week at the Parade of Champions they’re having a match against the Armstrongs and it’s going to be a clean match. It’ll be a hard fought match, but it’ll be a clean match and no-one like him is going to turn friends against friends. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Jason West & Chris Canyon INT: Rick & Scott Steiner INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - this weekend the big WWF superstars, Rick & Scott Steiner are coming to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. They think they’ve got a reputation? Jim Cornette, the Heavenly Bodies and the people he associates with have a reputation. They’ve been everywhere, done everything and they’ve done a lot of things that other folk round here can only dream of. If the Steiners think Arnold is going to bite him he’s got news for them as he’s been talking to a few mail men and has some tricks up his sleeve. Prichard says that this isn’t the WWF anymore, they may take a chair, they might find a table in the ring, they might just gauge their eyes out because here in Smoky Mountain they rule tag team wrestling and the only thing that they are sorry about is that the Steiners are no longer still the WWF tag team champions. Cornette then calls out the Bruise Brothers to join them, and he wants them to watch the footage of the Bodies attacking the Steiners “as this is the way that a great tag team does things.” They replay the video of the attack and he wants them to watch, listen, learn and they will talk later. Recap of Chris Candido vs Dark Secret from last week INT: Bobby Blaze - says that Chris Candido has been running his mouth and putting down his U.S. Jr. Heavyweight title. It might not mean a lot to Candido, but it does to him. No-one just handed it to him, he had to work hard to get it. If Chris Candido was any kind of man he’d come to the Parade of Champions and accept his challenge for this belt. Candido joins them and says that he’s going to take 30 seconds out of his valuable time, kick his butt, take that belt and then throw it to the bottom of the river where it belongs. The two of them start to fight with Les Thatcher trying to get them to stop and continue to do so until we go to the local interviews. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette INT: Sherri Martel - says that next week at the Parade of Champions Tracey Smothers is going to get the chance to get back the SMW Heavyweight title and she thinks it would look a lot better on a Southern boy than it would on Brian Lee. INT: Tracey Smothers Tony Anthony vs Dark Secret - Tracey Smothers joins them for commentary on this match and he thinks that the Dirty White Boy and Ron Wright are getting ripped off and that Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch have spent all that money. They’re fighting amongst themselves but he couldn’t care if they killed each other as the two most violent feuds he’s been involved with in his life have been with Lee and the White Boy. Lee eventually comes to the commentary position too and starts arguing with Smothers. The arguing escalates to a fight and the two of them head to the ring to continue it in there. Lee starts to get the better of things and holds Smothers so that the Dirty White Boy can hit him. He thinks about it for a bit before just getting out the ring and leaving Lee and Smothers to it. Les Thatcher on commentary says that the Dark Secret has been awarded the bout by DQ. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1994-05-07-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired May 7, 1994 Anderson County High School, Clinton, TN Tony Anthony vs Dark Secret INT: Tony Anthony - he tells Daryl Van Horn to take a good look as he thought the Dirty White Boy would cut tail and leave town, but there’s not a chance of that ever happening (incl. a clip of Kendo the Samurai spraying him in the face with the mist). As for the Jap who he’s got running round with him, he plans to take him out, but him main concern is the Volunteer Slam on 5/20 and his match with Jake Roberts. He wants a shot at the title and Jake Roberts is the nastiest, meanest, raunchiest person he’s ever laid eyes on; the man carries snakes around with him. In East Tennessee, if they see a snake they take a shotgun and blow its brains out and at Volunteer Slam that’s exactly what he’s going to do to him. He’s going to treat him like a snake and the way you take care of a snake is to chop it’s head off. Chris Candido (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Ricky Morton (jip, from Johnson City, TN) - Brian Lee and Robert Gibson come down to ringside towards the end of the match and Morton picks up the win with a small package. Fytch gets in the ring after the match but Morton plants another kiss on her. Candido attacks him from behind and then Fytch sprays something in his eyes before Candido gives him a piledriver. Rock & Roll Express vs Brian Lee & Chris Candido (w/ Tammy Fytch) (highlights, from Johnson City,TN) - the tag title match had already been signed, but Ricky Morton is unable to wrestle due to the piledriver he received from Candido earlier in the show. Fytch demands that the champions must defend their titles and if they don’t, should forfeit the belts and hand them over to them. Robert Gibson runs out and into the ring and will defend the titles on his own. Late into the match Morton makes his way out and to the apron wearing a neck brace. He tags himself in, but Lee hotshots him on to the top rope, Candido makes the cover and we have new SMW tag team champions. The Thrillseekers music video - Bon Jovi ‘Sleep When I’m Dead’ Recap of Bruiser Bedlam vs Tracey Smothers from last week INT: Bob Armstrong & Tracey Smothers - dressing room interview. Every time Bob sees Bruiser Bedlam he sees a juicy steak and just wants to eat him up, but can’t do that as Jim Cornette’s barred him from wrestling any more. He’s not going to give up his Commissionership though, because if he does, Smoky Mountain Wrestling will go to hell like it almost did before. Tracey tells him to keep that Commissioner’s job and keep doing what he’s got to do. Bob Armstrong has been like a second father to him, he wants Bruiser Bedlam and he’s going to do it for himself and The Bullet. Good little interview. Randy Savage music video - Edward Elgar ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ INT: Randy Savage - says these are glory days for Smoky Mountain Wrestling and it’s going to be the biggest thrill of his entire career to walk down that aisle at the Knoxville Coliseum and to look Bruiser Bedlam right in the eye (not too sure on that one Randy!). ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong is a friend of his and just because they haven’t seen each other for a while doesn’t mean that they’re not tight. He’s got a problem and he’s going to solve it one night for him. He’s not going to just beat Bruiser Bedlam, he’s going to teach him a lesson. Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Chris Hamrick - Hamrick takes an outrageous bump over the top rope to the floor) Bruiser Bedlam training video - Jim Cornette says how Bob Armstrong is so upset that he can’t get back in the ring because of the injunction that he filed and that he can no longer fight his own fights, so for the Volunteer Slam he’s got one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling to come to Knoxville and take on Bruiser Bedlam. They’re doing a little training around Knoxville today and Cornette wants Bob Armstrong and Randy Savage to see exactly what they’re up against. Bedlam bench presses 405lb as a ‘warm up’, before pressing 545lbs, drives nails through a board with his bare hands and breaks beer bottles over his head, busting himself open. This was very reminiscent of the old Jos Le Duc Memphis vignettes and despite all these feats and Cornette working overtime on the promo and claiming that Bedlam is the most dangerous wrester in the world, I’m really struggling to get into him. INT: Jake Roberts - he’s in his house again and says that one of the greatest things about being a professional wrestlers is when you’re on the road and in the dressing room, and you see a young kid just getting started having his first match and within seconds you know whether they are going to make it or not because you are a good judge of talent, say like the Dirty White Boy back in Oklahoma or somewhere. The frustrating thing is when you see that kid who was really trying, then you see him ten years later down the line and you were right. You knew the guy wasn’t going to make it “and you haven’t Tony.” He starts to mock the Dirty White Boy’s eye injury and says how he is looking down the line and realises that Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts is coming to Smoky Mountain Wrestling and he’s starting to make his excuses already. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, that comes out of the good book, a book that means a lot to him. It should mean a lot to the Dirty White Boy too, because if you remember there was a serpent in that book who started a whole lot of trouble and the Dirty White Boy’s troubles have only just begun. INT: Daryl Van Horn & Kendo the Samurai - Van Horn says that the Dirty White Boy had a serious price to pay for the things he did to him. He understands that he has a big match coming up against Jake Roberts, a personal friend and one of the few men in this business as depraved as him. He is sure that Jake the Snake is going to strike, but you never know when Kendo the Samurai will strike. The Dirty White Boy calls him a sneak Jap, but he calls him smart; a master of deception, a master of disguise and he’s just the latest in his legion of lost souls. When the Dirty White Boy wakes up at night in a cold sweat, Kendo the Samurai’s face is the one he’ll see. You’ll never know when, never know where, the Snake will strike but Kendo will strike first. The Thrillseekers vs Well Dunn - The Thrillseekers get the win but Well Dunn jump them after the match and continue to beat on them as the show goes off the air. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired January 15, 1994 Chihowie High School, Chihowie, VA INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton is glad that Dutch picked him name as today’s ‘Beat the Champ’ challenger as he sure could do with an extra $1,000. Just as they leave Robert Gibson hands Bob Caudle a letter and it says “Bob, don’t tell Ricky but his father Paul is here tonight. Paul has been in bad health and Ricky couldn’t go home for Christmas because we were wrestling, so they haven’t seen each other for a long time. I flew Paul over here as a surprise to Ricky, he’s in the extra locker room and we’re going to surprise Ricky later in the program. Robert” INT: Jim Cornette - he’s just come out of a meeting with the Board of Directors and is a happy guy. A couple of weeks back The Bullet, who everyone knows is Bob Armstrong, made a little offer that if he could have a match where Bob Armstrong could be Commissioner again, he’d do anything else he asked, would face any challenger and would do so under any stipulation. He had a think about it and his close personal friend Harry White, who is on the Board of Directors now, assisted him in the process. First of all he had to choose an opponent, and while he has access to those who are under contract to the WWF, the one man who Bob Armstrong has never defeated is Terry Funk, and Terry Funk will do anything for the right price, especially for a good friend like him. As for the stipulations, he thought long and hard about it and came up with something that would hurt Bob Armstrong worse than anything else. If Terry Funk beats The Bullet, then The Bullet must take off his mask and show his face to everyone in the Coliseum and he must leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling forever. However before he does so, he must get on his hands and knees, and in front of the fans that have supported him for the last 25 years, any family members he cares to brings, friends, the wrestlers and the photographers, crawl across the ring and kiss Jim Cornette’s feet. Great, gloating promo from Cornette. Tracey Smothers vs Jeff Victory Recap of Chris Candido defeating Tracey Smothers for the ‘Beat the Champ’ title on last week’s show INT: Chris Candido - he’s got a few things that he wants to say, and first of all is that he’s got himself a new U.S. Jr. Heavyweight belt made as the previous one had that Kentucky idiots hands all over it and he refused to touch it. Next is that Tracey Smothers is not from Tennessee at all, he’s really Vito Maranara out of Pennsylvania and Dennis Coraluzzo and himself will have proof of that in the next few weeks. Not only is he still the WWA champion and the U.S. Jr. Heavyweight champion, but he is now the ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title holder as well. He defeated Tracey Smothers last week, after he had spent his time running from him the week before, and is going to beat Ricky Morton this. Smothers and everyone else thought he was a joke when he came here, well he’s not a joke anymore. If he wants to get in the ring with him once more, he’ll drop him on his head again just like he did in Knoxville. INT: Rock & Roll Express, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl Down & Dirty w/ Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - Dutch opens by recapping what happened in the Triple Threat match at Christmas Chaos and then the impromptu Dirty White Boy vs Brian Lee match from last week. Back on Down & Dirty and it’s a ‘dirty reunion!’ The Dirty White Boy has a lot of things planned for Brian Lee, he’s talked to the Board of Directors and is trying to get one particular match signed against him. The only reason he doesn’t have the SMW Heavyweight title is round his waist is because of all the outside interference from Tammy Fytch. The Dirty White Girl has been doing an excellent job, but Fytch should sign up for the Olympic track team she’s that quick. He’s still talking to people, but if he can get this match signed, there’s no way Brian Lee will be able to get away from him and he’s sure he will become the SMW Heavyweight champion. Dutch asks what type of match it is but the White Boy tells him that it is none of his business. When Brian Lee hears about the match, the whole world will hear about it, he guarantees it. INT: Daryl Van Horn - Bob Caudle says that Van Horn has talked about Prince Kharis for weeks and weeks, but he’s yet to see him and he doesn’t think any of the fans have seen him on TV either (guessing Thanksgiving Thunder against Tim Horner has been quietly forgotten about). Van Horn says everybody in the Smoky Mountain area is going to be in for a big treat as Prince Kharis will make his debut on SMW TV next week. He held him back for a few weeks as these people weren’t worthy of seeing him, but when he comes out here he wants to make sure all these Smoky Mountain crackers give him a reception worthy of an Egyptian Prince, worthy of a holy man. He is the High Priest of the Temple of the Sun, and if these idiots don’t believe him, read it in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the book that tells you the true mysteries of the Universe, that solves all the enlightenment problems in the world; unlike that other pack of fairy tales these idiots read on Sunday! In just a short while Prince Kharis is going to start letting the blood of the Nile fill the arenas in the Smoky Mountain area, screw your wigs on tight and get ready for the reign of Prince Kharis! Chris Candido vs Ricky Morton - a few minutes into the match Robert Gibson and Bobby Blaze run down and into the ring, tell Morton something and the three of them rush to the back. INT: Bruise Brothers - they’re counting down the days until their suspension is up. The good thing is they’re running around free, getting to have fun and visit people they haven’t seen in a while. They’ve been having a good time and celebrating, celebrating because they’re coming back and they’re coming back after the Moondogs. Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel have heard something has happened in the locker room and have sent a cameraman back there to find out a bit more. He finds ‘Paul Morton’ (actually Brian Hildebrand) laid out in the dressing room being tended to by the Rock & Roll Express, Bobby Blaze, Tracey Smothers, Tony Anythony, the Dirty White Girl and Jason West as one of the security guys tells Rick that an ambulance is on the way. INT: Tony Anthony - Bob Caudle asks the Dirty White Boy what’s happening in the locker room when they are joined by Robert Gibson. He says he bought Ricky’s dad here trying to surprise him and it’s all his fault. The White Boy tells him it’s not his fault, don’t worry about it and go back there and wait for the ambulance. Anthony says Mr Morton was in a separate dressing room and they were going to bring him into theirs after Ricky’s match started. He went to the bathroom and ran into Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies. Some words were exchanged and it ended up with Morton slapping Cornette, but he evidently picked up some drain cleaner as it’s all over the floor and it ended up going in Morton’s eyes. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Jason Herd & Jason West - Cornette on commentary says that Paul Morton tried to kill him and he wants to press charges for assault. That old man jumped him from behind in the bathroom and he thinks he had a knife! He defended himself and knocked the old coote straight out. He didn’t mean for the Draino to get in his eyes, but he got what he deserved. He wants to press charges and is calling the cops, the CIA, the FBI as somebody’s got to do something about those goofs. Robert Gibson runs out during the match trying to get to the Bodies, but he’s held back by Tracey Smothers, Tony Anthony and Bobby Blaze. INT: Mike & Doug Furnas - Doug apologizes to the people of Knoxville as the Heavenly Bodies used their university helmet to beat two players from the University of Tennessee and that’s just not right. They have a match on 2/13 at Sunday Bloody Sunday where the football helmet is on a pole, and the first person to climb that pole can use the helmet as a weapon. In order to get that match though, they both had to agree to put on University of Alabama football jerseys should they lose. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Bobby Blaze INT: Jim Cornette INT: Tracey Smothers - says that Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies have gone too far and it was one of the most disgusting things he has ever seen. Winning and losing a wrestling match is one thing, but when it comes to someone’s family it’s another and the Rock & Roll Express, and Ricky Morton in particular, are going to get their revenge. Chris Candido has been giving him a lot of problems recently, but if he wants a shot at the big time he’ll make him famous. He cost him the SMW Heavyweight title when he dropped him on his head at Christmas Chaos, he hit him with a foreign object and beat him for the TV belt, well 1994 is the year of the South and it’s going to rise again! Good fired up interview from Smothers. Bold matches are PWO recommended
