    1992-07-18-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 18, 1992 Polk County High School, Benton, TN Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Fantastics - continuation of the match from last week’s show. Prichard has the Figure Four on Jackie, when Bobby comes in the ring to help him and throws the referee out the ring. The referee throws the match out and they all continue to fight and brawl after the bell. Contract signing for The Fantastics vs Heavenly Bodies match at Fire on the Mountain - Bob Armstrong is conducting the signing and says that since these two teams started wrestling each other we've had more trouble than anybody we've had trouble with before. If they're not fighting in the ring, it's in the parking lot, in an area where they shouldn't be, in the crowd etc. He says that on August 8th he's going to solve the two problems that these teams face, in that they will not stay in the ring and that Jim Cornette interferes in every match (a statement that Cornette vehemently denies). He plans to do this by surrounding the ring in barbed wire and then by barring Cornette from ringside. Cornette isn't happy about this and says that he's watched Armstrong stack the deck against his men for long enough, trying to get the belts off them and run them out of town and he won't stand for it anymore. He's got lawyers and with this being America you can sue anybody over anything, he'll call one of them and get this tied up in court for so long that Armstrong will be dead before it's settled. Bobby Fulton then has an idea and whispers something to Armstrong. He makes one further stipulation to the match, and he will allow Jim Cornette to come to ringside, but he'll be the special referee for the bout. Cornette is even less happy, getting on his knees and begging not for this before throwing a temper tantrum in the ring. INT: Brian Lee, The Fantastics Recap of Brad & Bart Batten vs Paul Orndorff & Tony Anthony from last week INT: Brian Lee - he has been to commissioner Armstrong over the problem he has been having with the Dirty White Boy and has signed a match against him with the title belt on the line where if he wins, the Dirty White Boy has to leave SMW. Tony Anthony comes out, soon followed by Bob Armstrong, and says this is stupid, what is this garbage? They start pushing each other and Armstrong tells them to keep it in the ring. Anthony claims that it is not right and that Lee is a coward hiding by Armstrong, who then confirms if he loses, he’s out of here. Down & Dirty w/ Jimmy Golden - Dutch introduces him as a great scientific wrestler. He says that Golden has a problem with Robert Gibson and that they both agree he is a moron, a mental deficient, a cheat, a liar and that he moans and groans! Golden says that they tried to fine him, claiming he hit Gibson with a foreign object, but he doesn’t need anything to beat him. Gibson then comes to the ring and as he takes off his shirt Golden strikes him, and a match between the two commences. Jimmy Golden vs Robert Gibson - Dutch is great again on commentary wondering why Bob Armstrong isn’t fining Gibson for interrupting his segment. Gibson hits the bulldog on Golden when Robert Fuller comes out to break up the pin and attack him. The two of them beat on him with Fuller’s cowboy boot and belt leaving him lying in the ring. Tim Horner vs Gary Scott INT: Tim Horner - says he’s tired of Buddy Landell and everything between them has come to a head. He proposes an “I Quit”’ match to him, where the only way you can win is by making your opponent say “I Quit”, claiming these words aren’t in his vocabulary because “a winner never quits and a quitter never wins.” He’s going to beat Landell and urges him to put his name on the line. Recap of Danny Davis vs Killer Kyle from last week and the post-match action INT: Dixie Dy-No-Mite - says he felt the wrath of the violin case last week and knows that there is something inside of it. He has been to the promotion and they said if he want to know what is in there, sign a match with his mask on the line versus opening the violin case. He wants to know, so he signed for the match. Mask vs Opening the Violin Case: Dixie Dy-No-Mite vs Killer Kyle - Dy-No-Mite gets the pin and opens the violin case, only for a roll of tape to fall out of it. Kyle jumps Dixie and ties him to the top rope with the tape, before wrapping more of it around his fist. He pummels on Dy-No-Mite in the corner before Tim Horner and Danny Davis come out to make the save. INT: Tony Anthony, Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies INT: Jimmy Golden & Robert Fuller - Golden tells Gibson to keep his nose out of his business or he’ll chop it off Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 11, 1992 Cumberland High School, Cumberland, KY Killer Kyle vs Danny Davis (Kyle rams Davis’ head into the violin case and gets the pin. Dixie Dy-No-Mite runs out to tell the referee what happened and he then DQ’s Kyle and reverses the decision. Kyle then clocks Dy-No-Mite in the back with the violin case leaving both men lying in the ring. INT: Bob Armstrong - is fining Killer Kyle $500 for what he just did and says that he isn’t going to be using that case anymore. INT: Tim Horner - says that Buddy Landell may have got the first licks in, but next week at Summerblast he’s going to get the last. Also includes a recap of Landell whipping him from last week and comments from Landell regarding their strap match. INT: Hector Guerrero, Tim Horner, Brian Lee INT: The Fantastics - Jackie says that next week at Summerblast they get the Heavenly Bodies exactly where they want them, in the ring, no holds barred, anything goes. They’ve been talking about how we’ve been running, but they won’t talk anymore when we get through with them. Bobby says that Bob Armstrong signed this match and whilst the previous riot cost them $1,500 apiece, this time it’s a Smoky Mountain Street fight and it will all be legal. He just wishes that Cornette and his men would come out now as they’re not hard to find. Cornette then appears in the ring saying that they’ve got the big street fight coming up; the Fantastics got crippled once before and he’s giving them the chance to chicken out of it, walk out the back door admitting they’re gutless cowards and that way they will let them out of the street fight without getting hurt. The Fantastics are having none of that and they both race to the ring. Cornette cowers in the corner and the Fantastics are jumped from behind by the Bodies and both teams continue to fight until the Fulton’s have the upper hand at which point the Bodies retreat to the back. Down & Dirty w/ Ron Wright & Tony Anthony & Paul Orndorff - Dutch starts by playing a tape that was sent to him and it opens with a Ron Garvin promo. He's in shape, is in condition and is coming to help Brian Lee at Summerblast. You think you've got a punch and a piledriver? Well I'm the master of that stuff, the master of hurting and crippling people. It's going to be a blast and I'll blast you into orbit! It’s followed by this awesome old video package featuring footage of Garvin getting the better of Andre the Giant and Jos Le Duc, dishing out piledrivers, all bloodied in a cage and generally beating people up set to 'I'm Evil' by Roy Buchanan. The video closes with a voice over saying “his battle plan is simple, win at any cost.” Dutch says you've just seen the video and Wright is now unsure whether Anthony and Orndorff will be able to do anything to Garvin after seeing what he did there to the likes of Andre the Giant and Jos Le Duc. He says that it should be against the law to show something like that as you know he's got a bad heart, and he can't stand looking at that knowing these two beloved men (Orndorff and Anthony) are going to have to go up against that wild and crazy idiot! Anthony tells him to calm down and take his pills and whilst we're not Andre the Giant we are tough, and he has a right hand that will drop Ron Garvin. Orndorff then claims that the video has been doctored due to modern technology and that they will beat them at Summerblast. Tony Anthony & Paul Orndorff (w/ Ron Wright) vs Brad & Bart Batten - Orndorff piledrives one of the Batten’s on the arena floor behind the referee’s back and after a few minutes, with him laid out Brian Lee runs down to take his place in the match. The Dirty White Boy throws the other Batten over the top rope for the DQ and the two of them beat on Lee until Danny Davis and Robert Gibson run them off. Recap of Jimmy Golden vs Robert Gibson from Knoxville INT: Robert Gibson - says he’s bringing two fans to the ring with him to search Jimmy Golden to check he’s got nothing concealed on him. Gibson doesn’t even know the name of the event, calling it Superbash and then Summerbash. INT: Buddy Landell & Tony Anthony - repeat from 6/27 Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Gary Scott & Rick Cannon - prior to this match commencing, Cornette says that due to the Fantastics breaking things over Stan Lane’s head they’ve busted his ear drum and he’s now got to wear protective headgear in order to wrestle. The three of them beat on the jobbers after the bout with brings out the Fantastics to save them and leads to an impromptu match between the two teams. Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs The Fantastics - show goes off the air with the match still in progress Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1992-07-04-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 4, 1992 Cumberland High School, Cumberland, KY Paul Orndorff vs Gary Scott INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Stan Lane says that the Fantastics are lunatics and should be sitting on death row for attempted murder. They attacked us with lead pipes, sticks, boards, they tried to kill us! Claims that they’re jealous because they are the best looking men in pro wrestling, they know the women want them, they know they have the gold and that they want to kill them to get us off God’s green earth as they’re wracked with jealousy. Cornette says that he knows the Fantastics will do it again if given the chance, then warns the Fulton’s that the next time they see them they’re done, and that they are going to get the Fantastics before the Fantastics get them in the Smoky Mountain street fight at Summerblast. INT: Tim Horner - says that he did cost Buddy Landell the title and from now on he’s going to fight fire with fire and will always be in his face. Tim Horner vs Joe Cazana - Buddy Landell jumps Horner after the match and whips him with a leather strap, all while Dutch Mantel is shouting “justice” on commentary. INT: Tony Anthony, Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies Robert Gibson vs Jimmy Golden (jip, from Knoxville, TN) INT: Jimmy Golden - says that he’s told Robert Gibson over and over that he’s no match for Jimmy Golden. He’s knocked him out once and could knock him out again, although the people of Smoky Mountain have accused him of using a chain. He’s never used a chain in his life, but now they want some of these stinky, rotten, hillbilly fans to search him for a chain? He doesn’t need a chain and will knock Gibson out one more time! Robert Gibson vs Rick Cannon Down & Dirty w/ Buddy Landell - Dutch is glad that Landell gave Horner the whipping his momma should have after he cost him the title last week. Landell says that he's the number one contender and as a result can get a title shot whenever he wants, unlike Horner, for whom they only come across once in a lifetime. Horner runs out to interrupt the segment wielding a whip and Landell makes a sharp exit out of the ring. Dutch then starts to backtrack and says how he's got nothing to do with this and he hopes he whips Landell like the dog he is, as he thought it was awful him coming in the ring and hitting him like that. He thought it was despicable behavior and won't tolerate it! Horner says that Buddy is digging his own grave and for every whip he puts on him, he'll put two on him in return. Dutch again tells him to whip him like a dog, he had no right to do that and he told Buddy that to his face! Dutch is great here back tracking and changing his opinion. Brian Lee vs Paul Lee INT: Brian Lee - says that the Dirty White Boy and Paul Orndorff are taking Ron Garvin a little lightly so he wants to show them what he is capable of. They then air a video of him defeating Ric Flair for the NWA title, followed by the interview from 6/27 when Lee revealed Garvin as his partner. INT: Ron Wright & Tony Anthony & Paul Orndorff - Wright has never been so worried after seeing what Ron Garvin did to the NWA champion and he’s afraid that Anthony and Orndorff don’t know how dangerous he is. Orndorff says that he’s beaten Ric Flair, the Dirty White Boy has beaten Flair, in fact anyone with a pair of wrestling boots has beaten Flair. He states that he and the Dirty White Boy don’t really want to be partners, but Brian Lee won’t wrestle them by himself, whilst Anthony claims that he is scared and that’s why he had to get Ron Garvin to help him out. Throughout the interview Wright is constantly patting his heart and even takes some pills at one point. Bob Armstrong presents a lifetime SMW pass to some old dear at a house show INT: Bob Armstrong - runs down the card for Summerblast INT: The Fantastics - say the Heavenly Bodies came out earlier and said how they were looking for the Fantastics, well as of right now, they are looking for them and looking forward to the Smoky Mountain street fight at Summerblast. INT: Tim Horner, Brian Lee Brad & Bart Batten vs Danny Davis & Dixie Dy-No-Mite - Dutch Mantel is not excited by the prospect of this match and thinks it’ll be as exciting as watching paint dry. He then goes on to say that people sentenced to death should be strapped down with a cyanide pill and made to watch this match, as they’d top themselves and save the state money and accountability! The match is interrupted by the Heavenly Bodies, Jim Cornette and The Fantastics all brawling with each other from the back and into the ring. Stan looks ridiculous in his head gear keeping his toupee in place. Bold matches are PWO recommended

    1992-06-27-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired June 27, 1992 Cumberland High School, Cumberland, KY Dixie Dy-No-Mite vs Joe Cazana INT: Brian Lee - sit-down interview. He’s got himself a partner to face Tony Anthony & Paul Orndorff at the Summerblast and then asks them to play the video. The video pans up to reveal Ron Garvin who says that Lee has called him and asked him to help him out. Says that he’s just turned 41, is in the best shape of his life and was the One Man Gang at one time but is now the ‘Hands of Stone’ and if you think you’ve done something in wrestling, you haven’t done anything like Ron Garvin. INT: Hector Guerrero, Tim Horner, Brian Lee INT: Ron Wright & Tony Anthony & Paul Orndorff - Wright says that Brian Lee shouldn’t have been allowed to bring Ron Garvin is as that man is crazy and he should be suspended all over the world. Anthony tells him to calm down and take his heart pills as he doesn’t have to worry about anything. Orndorff claims to have seen Garvin the other week and that he weighed about 250lbs, his hair is all grey and tells Ron not to worry about a thing. Anthony says that Brian Lee got scared so he went and got himself Ron Garvin, but there’s no way he could knock him out with one punch and as the for the piledriver, Paul Orndorff is the ‘King of the Piledriver’. He says that Smoky Mountain Wrestling doesn’t like that we three rule wrestling now, Garvin is going down and Brian Lee isn’t man enough to take the punishment that we’re going to dish out to him. Wright is constantly rubbing his chest throughout and being told to calm down as he’s getting all agitated, knowing how crazy Garvin is and wants him kept away from him. Raw footage of a backstage, hallway brawl from a house show between the Fantastics and the Heavenly Bodies. Stanfield is wearing some head gear for the first time to keep his wig in place and it’s a wild scene as they beat each on other with all sorts of weapons, trash cans etc. The fight continues as they venture outside and into the parking lot until the Bodies flee in a car though the Fantastics (who are both busted open) throw a pipe through the back wind shield just as they’re driving off. INT: Bob Armstrong - says he never realised the Fantastics would go this far when he said they could have a lot of leeway, but they went too far and he’s just glad that a fan didn’t get hurt in the process of that brawl. He is fining each man involved $1,500 (and that includes Jim Cornette) and is signing a special street fight between the two teams for the Summerblast event. Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Dutch considers the actions of the Fantastics despicable in the brawl and thinks that they should be locked up. Prichard says that in professional wrestling you may come across some pretty despicable people, you may even come across some criminal elements, and the Fulton's are the exact criminal element he's talking about. Look at his face (he's sporting a plaster above his eye), look at his head, you've seen the tape and saw the criminal activity that took place. He goes on to say that not only are they the SMW tag team champions, but they've had lots of offers from all over the country, offers to do commercials in Hollywood, record deals and not only are the Fantastics trying to run them out of wrestling, but they're trying to keep them from their other interests too. Cornette says that when he saw the lead pipe coming through the car back window shield they realized that the Fulton's aren't talking about taking the titles anymore, aren't talking about beating them up anymore, but are talking about doing serious damage to them. They've given them the choice of letting the Fantastics try to do that again to them and possibly succeed, or do they prevent them by doing it to them first? Give us the choice of us or you, and you ain't going to make it. Whatever we have to do we'll do it, however far we have to go, we aren't playing around no more, we can't afford to. It's not wrestling no more, its life or death! Excellent segment and promo with Cornette and Prichard bringing the goods. Money drawing stuff and the best promo in SMW so far. INT: Tim Horner - says how he defeated Buddy Landell but he didn’t get done what he wanted because Landell ran. Well he’s been to the promoters and Bob Armstrong and now they’re going to have a strap match at Summerblast. Danny Davis vs Paul Lee INT: Buddy Landell - says last week he screwed Tim Horner out of being a tag team champion and it seems that making people’s lives miserable is what he’s good at. Brian Lee doesn’t only have to worry about Paul Orndorff and the Dirty White Boy as today he gets a match against him. Whereas last time he wrestled him he had a temperature of 115 degrees, today he feels pretty spritely! Buddy Landell vs Brian Lee - Landell has something wrapped around his fist and he’s going to hit Lee with it, when Tim Horner runs to ringside and grabs his arm, allowing Lee to roll him up from behind for the pin. INT: Buddy Landell & Tony Anthony - they ain't in Madison Square Garden, they ain't in the Cow Palace, why? Cause they've got bad attitudes. This is Smoky Mountain Wrestling, you've got to be tough to work here, ain't no brown nosing and Buddy Landell doesn't know how to do politics, if he did, he'd be the World champion - strange interview as Anthony seems pissed whilst Landell appears to be high as a kite. INT: Buddy Landell - he’ll give that one to Tim Horner, he must’ve been up all night watching Buddy Landell films on how to get the job done. He says you can tell by the look on his face and change of tone in his voice that he’s a little ticked off and Horner just cost him the title belt. Tim Horner must be a blithering idiot to ask for this strap match at Summerblast as he’s now in his territory. Good stuff. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Savage stands up and makes his way to ringside whilst Roberts continues to bait and goad him. He says that Savage has a fear of him, and that he is stood in the ring waiting on him, but when Savage gets up on to the ring apron Jake blindsides him with a clothesline. He then ties Savage up in the ring ropes, gets some shots in on him, and then gets the King Cobra out of his snake bag. He puts the Cobra by Savage’s arm and the snake starts biting him. Piper then leaves the announcing booth to try and help, but can’t get into the ring due to the snake, and Miss Elizabeth also makes her way to ringside screaming in horror. When Savage gets untied he goes after Jake swinging wildly with punches. Piper and some agents eventually get Savage out of the ring and onto a stretcher, despite rolling off it the once, they end up rushing him to the back all whilst Vince McMahon is saying how “Savage is in trouble,” “the poison is flowing through his veins” and “they better get some help as this wasn’t supposed to happen.” Incredible angle. Roberts is awesome whilst Savage and Piper play their roles superbly. Bold matches are PWO recommended
