jdw
This is so PWO: Hollywood and Steroids: When A-List Actors Go the A-Rod Route With its fountain-of-youth promise, HGH quietly has become the substance of choice for Tinseltown denizens looking to quickly burn fat, boost energy and even improve complexion. The drug costs up to $3,000 a month. Taken along with steroids ($50 to $150 per month), to help build muscle, the results can be startling. Hollywood trainer Happy Hill, who has helped sculpt Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Phillippe, estimates that some 20 percent of actors use PEDs to bulk up and define. "HGH is on the scene now more than ever before," says Hill, who frowns upon PED use and stresses that none of his clients partake. "It's hard not to use. Some people, especially the older ones, are looking for that perfect gym body, and they want a shortcut."
Death From Above
I'm actually pretty interested in this topic in general. Obviously a lot of stars are keeping their looks through smoke and mirrors ranging from expensive cosmetics (and staff), to plastic surgery. But I do wonder how much of it gets a lot darker than that.
Kevin Ridge
Read this earlier on. Part of me thinks the percentage of users could be higher than 20%. Stars must love HGH for it's supposed anti aging factors. Actors won't have to worry about Hollywood executives and producers having issues with them taking shortcuts to look good. You have all these super hero comic movies, which seems to be all Hollywood is putting out at this point, and guys are coming back bigger for the sequels. rzombie1988
I've always thought that pretty much all of the stars were on a buffet of different things. With their lifestyles and being in business that requires you to look even better than wrestling does, it's no suprise.
jdw
It's not a surprise, and has been talked about for years. But the Hollywood Reporter running a piece on it... it's basically like PWI breaking Kayfabe in the 80s to talk about blading.
Johnny Sorrow
Wasn't Stallone pretty up front about his HGH use when those last Rocky and Rambo flicks came out?
Kevin Ridge
Wasn't Stallone pretty up front about his HGH use when those last Rocky and Rambo flicks came out? Yep, he is a open big fan of it. And if you see him lately he is nowhere natural for his age. That whole Florida probe that listed guys like Mysterio had some celebrities too. I think Mary J. Blige showed up on that list.
jdw
Wasn't Stallone pretty up front about his HGH use when those last Rocky and Rambo flicks came out? He might have gotten upfront about it after that airport bust. That kind of broke PED-fabe for him, so he could talk about it afterwards.
