I feel sorry for the first announcer to misspeak and call them by their WWE owned names.
Guest Mike Campbell
Brother Ray Deadly, and Brother Devon Deadly. Is that supposed to pass for being clever and/or witty? Deadly Death Drop? That's just a hair on the redunant side.
Loss
They should really stop acting shocked and stop bitching (they being the Dudz) and just reinvent themselves completely. They were stale as hell anyway, and they aren't exactly going to help any promotion they work for, considering how tired everyone was of them by the end of 2001 to begin with. Coffey
Deadly Death Drop? That's just a hair on the redunant side. Heh, that's what I said over at TSM in the TNA section where this news was posted. Not only is it redundant but it sounds absolutely retarded as well. They can't call it the 3D anymore, so the commentators would actually have to refer to it as the Deadly Death Drop.
sek69
I'm sure they'll call it the Triple D, so they can take not-so-thinly veiled shots at WWE. "Triple D puts everyone down!"
Coffey
Heh, that's pretty funny actually. "Triple D buries another superstar!" I don't know if anyone else would be smart enough to think of it though.
Guest Spaceman Spiff
They should really stop acting shocked and stop bitching (they being the Dudz) and just reinvent themselves completely. They were stale as hell anyway, and they aren't exactly going to help any promotion they work for, considering how tired everyone was of them by the end of 2001 to begin with. But at this point in their careers, how much sense would it make to scrap what's worked in favor of a completely new direction? Fans & promoters recognize the Dudleyz gimmick, and that's what people want to see. If they go in a new direction, who's going to recognize them only by hearing/seeing their new names? It'll take time to build up new name recognition, which could very well be money not being earned by them (or at least not as much as possible) that they could easily make by continuing w/ the status quo. I agree their act is tired, but I can see why they'd be reluctant to change it since it's been their meal ticket for the better part of a decade now. Guest SweetMama Scaat
We have a concurence. Theres no way in hell they could be marketable as anybody else. The whole deadly death drop thing is rather humrous. Its EXTRA deadly. Its like consecutive life terms in prison. Youre gonna die A WHOLE BUNCH. Kudos to the DEADLY boyz (can they still use the Z?) for being dicks and screwing the WWE in the WWE style.
