Kris is joined by The Cubs Fan (Luchablog) & Alfredo Esparza (Lucha World) to discuss the Lucha Libre candidates on the 2015 Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame ballot. We talk about who should’ve been in already with some maybe even on the first induction list and we go over the cases of some of the modern guys and how they stack up against each other both good and bad. This was a really great episode. I need to get that 80s Lucha Set when I can afford to.

I found the side discussions (Monterrey wrestling, IWRG, etc.) more interesting than the candidate talk itself. Not anybody's fault, really. At this point hearing about Cien Caras or Villano III's candidacy excites me as much as hearing again about that great time when DX took a tank to Nitro and changed the business. These guys (and a few others on the ballot) should be in, and it's head scratching that they are not.

 

I'm sure that people who haven't heard the arguments before really loved it as it was a very informative show. You should bring these guys in the future to do a themed show (lucha indies, AAA, UWA, or anything else).

I always enjoy these snapshot shows for profiling and spotting specific, individual guys. Even if it's guys I feel familiar with, I usually walk away with new information and a deeper understanding of some milestone moments in their careers.

 

Haven't heard this show just yet, as I'm still enjoying the shit out of the Colon and Puro episodes in sporadic sessions when I can, but I'm definitely going to get around to it.
