kevinmcfl
I must say that you have a really organized setup with your TV shows, house shows and main shows. Most of us just run a few angles and play them out while you run an entire promotion. That takes a lot of work and you do it all so well. Keep it up. Also loved the idea of Martel winning in Canada. SirEdger
Always loved to see heels finding all kinds of excuses to explain why they've lost the titles they weren't supposed to lose. Makes it even more interesting! It's been very fun thus far planning those joint shows together and I hope we'll keep going for a while. It's excellent for every territory! LowBlowPodcast
WWF Wrestling Challenge Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio Matches from Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid-Hudson Civic Center Gorilla: Welcome everyone to Wrestling Challenge! I am Gorilla Monsoon alongside Bobby the Brain Heenan and Brain you are just glowing! Heenan: That’s right Monsoon! I told you last week and you saw the news… I’ve got Bundy and Studd in the tournament… Gorilla: How about Rude and Hercules? Heenan: I am working on it! Gorilla: Oh yeah… what’s that little box for? Heenan: This right here… this is the box I am going to put the Intercontinental Championship into! Gorilla: What are you talking about… Heenan: I am talking about tomorrow night in Los Angeles… the Intercontinental Championship is going to be mine because Big John Studd is going to challenge and then defeated Rick Martel! Gorilla: PLEASE! Martel has seen tougher challengers than Studd… Heenan: But none bigger! Gorilla: We will see how that works out for you… right now we’ve got the Intercontinental Champion in action, let’s go to the ring! Rick Martel defeated Brady Boone -A great showcase as we even get an inset promo from Martel who puts himself over and other Canadian athletes. He talks about the IC title and how he will defend it against anyone. He says he will be in Los Angeles tomorrow night and he is going to show Big John Studd why he is one of the best in the world! Inside the ring here tonight, we see him work over Brady Boone and finish him off with the Boston Crab. Heenan says there is no way he will be able to get it on John Studd. Gorilla doesn’t disagree and says there are 1,000 ways to skin a cat… or a weasel! *COMMERCIAL* -WC is back with Gorilla and Bobby talking about the tag team titles. They put over the Russians and talk about the feud with them and Steve Williams & Mike Rotundo. They talk about them challenging the Russians and coming up close and think that tonight in Houston may be the night they get the titles. Heenan says he has got the team of Studd and Bundy and they would love a chance at the titles. We cut to the ring for tag team action. Steve Williams & Mike Rotundo defeated The Invaders -Williams and Rotundo are really coming into their own. Gorilla and Bobby put over their amateur backgrounds but wonder how that will translate into a hard fought fight with the Russians. Gorilla says they will hold their own and Heenan thinks they will buckle with the pressure. Inside we see Williams with a nasty German Suplex on Invader #2 when Rotundo nails him with a flying clothesline for the 1…2…3!! Williams and Rotundo work the crowd. *COMMERCIAL* -WC is back with Gorilla and Bobby talking about Randy Savage and Ted Dibiase. They put over the feud and Heenan puts down Elizabeth as a manager and you can’t trust a woman to do a man’s job. It is clearly sexist and Monsoon is giving him the business talking about how Elizabeth is going to lead Savage to the title! Heenan says he can’t wait to see it but he is going to have to wait in line until his men get the title first! Heenan puts over Rick Rude in a big way as we cut to the ring! Rick Rude w/ Bobby Heenan defeated Johnny Rodz -Rick Rude is really coming into his own. He is slowly becoming more methodical and disastrous in the ring. He beats the piss out of Rodz and we see some nice power moves including a piledriver that looks to just shake Rodz’ spine. He picks him up for the Rude Awakening for the 1…..2….3! Rude celebrates as Heenan puts him over in the biggest way! *COMMERCIAL* -WC returns with Gorilla and Bobby continuing to discuss managers. They put over Lord Alfred Hayes and his stable of talent. They put over the Barbarian, the Viking, Missing Link, and William Regal. Gorilla even says that he has been seen with Killer Khan but nothing has been finalized yet. They put over how Lord Alfred wanted an answer from Davey Boy Smith about joining him as we cut to the ring! {We cut to the ring with Lord Alfred Hayes in the ring with a very young William Regal. He talks about how Regal is from England and one of the brightest young talents in the world. He put over how he has traveled to Japan, Germany, China, and Russian to learn how to be the absolute best in the world and he will get there. Davey Boy comes out and Regal offers him an opportunity to team with Regal and “ride his coattails” to success he would never have dreamed of. He talks about how Lord Alfred has scouted the best English talent in the world and that Regal was number one and Davey was number two and he wants to put them together. Davey gets kind of tired of hearing it and says he doesn’t need a “slimy manager to steal his money!” Regal can’t believe it as Regal goes to throw a punch but Davey blocks it and he NAILS him him with a big right hand! The Barbarian and Viking are here! They run into the ring and Davey is trying to fight them off to no avail. It is a 3 on 1 beatdown here as Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart run out to the ring! We get a nice little brawl before Lord Alfred pulls his men out. Gorilla and Heenan put this over in a big way. Heenan says that Smith made the biggest mistake of his life but Gorilla says he has turned the corner and found some real friends!} *COMMERCIAL* -WC is back with Gorilla and Heenan putting over the Lord Alfred angle in a huge way. They put over the potential six-man tag and wonder what Sgt. Slaughter who has been feuding with Lord Alfred thinks about it. Heenan says he should not bother with those young punks. Gorilla then turns his attention to the strength and power of Hercules vs Ivan Putski. Heenan puts over how Hercules is indeed the strongest man in the WWF and Putski is going to figure that out. We cut to the ring for this big main event. MAIN EVENT Ivan Putski vs Hercules w/ Bobby Heenan -A big time main event here as Putski, who is at the end of his road as a performer, still has some name value and makes Hercules look and feel a little more special than he is. This is a bearded, wild-man, looking Hercules too as he looks like an animal. Both of these guys do some fun power work but the match itself isn’t incredible by any sense of the word. We see Hercules rule the match but here comes Putski with some big power moves and he has Hercules waining. He looks to finish him with a bearhug but here comes Rick Rude! Rude comes out and NAILS Putski in the back and he hammers down on him! Hercules and Rude are working him over in a bad way. Rude picks him up for the Rude Awakening! Hercules then picks him up for the FULL NELSON! Hercules is out on his feet as agents run down to the ring to break it up! Rude and Hercules look great here as Bobby puts them through the roof and Gorilla says they will get what is coming to them soon enough! LowBlowPodcast
Because I am a stickler, I moved the Superstars to WWF on Tour July 1984 since it would have technically aired in July. Sorry for being OCD.
LowBlowPodcast
Was able to get everything up to date and got July started... everyone enjoy! Hopefully the format works well for the house show loop and then the television tapings/big shows on the weekends. I am probably going too fantasy on the idea of producing a show with footage from the previous night the next day in 1984... but it is fantasy wrestling for a reason... SirEdger
Really dug the angles with Regal/Davey as well as the Killer Khan/Ricky Steamboat incident in your Texas Death Match. I've never witnessed Killer Khan being involved in hot angles other than with the Freebirds/Von Erichs stuff in World Class back in the day so I'm really looking forward to what you'll do with this one! kevinmcfl
Love the back and forth between both sets of announcers and that is one thing that made WWF fun. I also loved the Regal angle and was very happy you gave him a lot of help here as he is too young to do it all on his own. Love how Superstars gave us highlights of great matches. Too many shows in the 1980's were kind of boring with only jobber vs jobber matches Very interested to see who gets the first run as World champ. Great work
agentofenton
As much as I love the MACW, I'm super jealous of this WWF territory! I love how you produce it. Great house show loops, fun TVs. Fun matches on the loops and running angles on the houses too. A really fun read!
