GOTNW
Nice to see someone do the equivalent of those amazing FMW tags in 2016, this was insane, everyone knows how to throw a punch and you have vrazy Puerto Ricans throwing each other onto walls, hitting each other with chairs and trash cans and bleeding all over the place, what is there not to love? There were some indy moves I could've done without in the comeback but overall this kicked ass. ****1/
JimArg
Yeah, this was really good, the outside brawl parts were insane, Cuervo bled a lot and it's nice to see a match with people throwing great punches in 2016. My only problem with the match is clearly the comeback; Mendoza sold his just fine, his selling was pretty on point and that tope was a nice touch, but Cuervo kinda forgot about the damage and showed too much energy, dismissing the previous beating, even if he was the most bloody of the two. Rah
This was really good when they were brawling across the arena. I must have come across like a Zandig soundbite to everyone around me while watching this as I kept screaming JESUS at almost every blow these guys took. From the punches, to the cane shots to the headbutts into the wall, it all looked super nasty. Once they hit the ring, though, it all came across all too cutesy. "Indy" is a good enough label for Mendoza/Cuervo in the finishing stretch, and their tag team moves probably came across as better ideas than in actual practice. They felt too weak in comparison to the violence that had escalated to the finishing run. What came at the start, though, made me salivate for more Puerto Rican wrestling. NintendoLogic
This was Rah's selection for the Secret Santo project. We begin in medias res with all four guys brawling on the floor. Mendoza and Cuervo get crowbars from...the audience? Cuervo produces a spike from his boot. One of La Revolucion produces a chain from his cargo pocket. Trash cans are thrown. Chairs are swung. They finally make it into the ring after about six minutes. La Revolucion double-teams Cuervo for a bit. One of them does a Stone Cold Stunner. A taser is teased but never used. Both of La Revolucion run headfirst into their own chairs. Mendoza with a tope. A manager breaks up a pin. A third Revolucion shows up and eats a GTS. The manager tries to throw powder but has it kicked back in his face. A half-dozen guys I don't recognize show up and brawl to the back. Cuervo gets the win with a moonsault. This match was a car wreck of the first order, which I mean as a compliment. For fans of Cactus Jack/Nasty Boys-style matches, this is an unqualified must-see. For everyone else, it's a "you should see it" match.
