agentofenton
The roster is just incredible. The fact you can run two different complete cards with all of these big names is very impressive. When is the WWF coming to Syracuse?! haha
LowBlowPodcast
WWF Wrestling Challenge Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio Matches from Allentown, PA – Agricultural Hall Killer Bees defeated Rick McGraw & Brady Boone -A good showcase for Blair and Brunzell who have been building together over the last couple of weeks. We see them double up all over Boone and McGraw before we see a big suplex from Blair followed by a Splash off the top rope from Brunzell for the 1…2….3! Gorila and Bobby put them over in a big way and wonder how they would fair against the Russians! *COMMERCIAL* Jake The Snake Roberts defeated SD Jones Jake Roberts: It seems like people fail to understand what man’s biggest fear really is. It is the fear of the unknown. It is not knowing what you are faced with and not knowing what is going to happen next. Everyone in the WWF is afraid right now… they don’t know who or what I am, but I can tell you this… I am Jake the Snake and if you aren’t careful I am going to sneak up and I will suffocate everything you’ve got and drop with you with the DDT before you can even blink! *COMMERCIAL* HERCULES TEST OF STRENGTH -An interesting little vignette with Hercules flexing his muscles while Heenan pumps him up in a big way. We see Gorilla out there as Hercules is going to pull a car around the roof. Gorilla asks if he should get in the car and steer while Heenan says it would add to much extra weight! Heenan has got a midget come in and steer. He says that this guy is a professional… right. Anyways, Hercules starts to pull the car and Gorilla wonders why the car is on and there is smoke coming out of the muffler but Heenan assures him that the car has to be on. In a nice little 4-minute showcase, Hercules pulls the car around the roof and at some points it seems like Hercules has to out pull the car which is moving forward towards him. He comes across the line and Gorilla is skeptical on the whole thing as Heenan continues to put it over. Hercules is sweating bullets… Gorilla ends things that Atlas could do this with no problem. *COMMERCIAL* Jimmy Snuka defeated Victor Rivera Jimmy Snuka: WHOO WHOO! Roddy Piper… you have disgraced me and my heritage… you have tried to injure me and my brothers… Roddy Piper… I am coming for you brother man… I am coming for all my people… I am coming for my country and Roddy Piper… I am going to show you why they call me the SUPERFLY! *COMMERCIAL* MAIN EVENT Big Fred Ottman vs The One Man Gang w/ Kevin Sullivan -A nice main event with Big Fred Ottman getting his first big time shot. He has faced the Gang before, but not with this kind of momentum. He handles the Gang well in this big man contest as Gorilla and Bobby really give it its just due but they continually put over how the Gang is on a whole different level. We see Sullivan continue to get involved outside the ring before the crowd erupts when Hulk Hogan comes out! Hogan runs down to the ring and nails Sullivan into the ring post! The Gang comes outside the ring and chaos ensues! It is Hogan and the One Man Gang fighting in the aisle! Here comes the Barbarian! He attacks Hogan as Big Fred comes out and we see he and Hogan fighting off the Army! They get in the ring and challenge them but nothing doing as Hogan and Big Fred just work the crowd as Gorilla and Bobby say this is the beginning of something big! kevinmcfl
Nice use of Hogan to amp up the angle vs OMG. Well written test of strength segment.
SirEdger
Agreed. Also really digging Nick Bockwinkel's "Real World Champion" angle.
LowBlowPodcast
WWF Superstars Vince McMahon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from Allentown, PA – Agricultural Hall Bob Orton Jr defeated Johnny Rodz -A nice showcase for Orton who hasn’t really been in action much as of late on television. Vince and Jesse put over his alliance with Roddy Piper and how they have been getting the best of Snuka and the Samoans. Ace gets a nice piledriver on Johnny Rodz for the 1…2…3! Orton looks good tonight and he has definitely got the goods! *COMMERCIAL* Masked Superstar defeated Bob Bradley -Masked Superstar continues to showcase why he is one of the toughest men in wrestling. He is coming along well and just being a little more vicious in the ring. We see him nail Bradley with the Cobra Clutch Slam and that is really all she wrote. Superstar looks good as Vince and Jesse put him over in a big way. *COMMERCIAL* Sgt. Slaughter defeated Omar Atlas -Like the Superstar, Sgt. Slaughter looks good tonight. Vince and Jesse really pump him up as one of the premiere stars in wrestling. Unlike Superstar, Slaughter locks Atlas in with the Cobra Clutch for the submission. Sarge continues to impress here, and one has to wonder what his next step will be! *COMMERCIAL* MAIN EVENT The Briscoe Brothers vs Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy w/ Bobby Heenan -A lot of build to this big encounter as Jesse and Vince are pumping this up in the biggest way. We get to see a nice 11-minute contest with the Briscoes just a big overmatched in the size department. John Studd is really showing off his skills tonight, as he is the general with Bundy being the power for all intensive purposes. We see Heenan get involved and he ends up being the ace in the hole! It comes down to chaos with all four men in the ring. We see Jack and Studd battle outside the ring. Heenan gets up on the apron where Jerry grabs him but Heenan moves into the corner and holds him for Bundy to hit an AVALANCHE! Bundy hits again and Briscoe is in a bad way as he goes down and Bundy covers for a 1…2…3!! Bundy and Studd are the new number one contenders! Heenan is going nuts outside the ring as Jack has to check on Jerry. This could be some seriously bad news as he is holding on to his ribs. When will we see the Russians vs Bundy & Studd? It is going to be huge!
LowBlowPodcast
11/4 New York City, New York – Madison Square Garden Haku & Tonga vs The Barbarian & Kevin Sullivan -We get to see Haku & Tonga really come together. Sullivan just can’t seem to keep up with them all the while, the Barbarian’s power is the deciding factor. We get some miss-confusion before the Barbarian powerslams Tonga for the 1…2….3! Tony Atlas vs Big John Studd w/ Bobby Heenan -Big John Studd is just working on a different level right now. Tony Atlas looks good but can’t seem to get anything going on the big man who ends up with a big suplex and then an elbow on his throat that seems to have hurt him pretty good. We get the 3-count for Studd but Atlas doesn’t look like he’s doing too well. SIX-MAN CAGE MATCH Jimmy Snuka & The Briscoe Brothers vs Roddy Piper, Bob Orton, & Masked Cowboy -A purely brutal six-man tag… but inside the cage, it is every man for himself. We get a taste of Piper and Snuka as this masked cowboy doesn’t seem to give away his identity. The first escapees are Snuka and Piper who fight up at the top of the cage and then make their way down before going to the back. The next sequence is quite interesting… we see Jerry Briscoe make his way out of the cage and seemingly the Cowboy and Orton let him go which gives them the 2 on 1 to Jack. They begin to wear him down in a bad way. Jerry is cheering him on but out of the back… OH MY! -THAT’S TERRY FUNK! TERRY FUNK IS HERE! He has attacked Jerry Briscoe from behind with a branding Iron! He is hammering away at him as Jack sees this he tries to escape the cage to help him but we see the Masked Cowboy rip off his mask… IT IS DORY FUNK! Dory climbs up and we see a back suplex off the cage! OH MY! Terry jumps in the cage and shakes hands with Ace before just kicking Jack Briscoe right in the skull! Terry and Dory pick up Jack for a SPIKE PILEDRIVER! OH MY! He is laid out in the middle of the ring while the Funks and Orton step out of the cage and they may have “won” the match but there is definitely more to the story here. The crowd is going nuts throwing debris at the Funks as security is escorting them to the back. This is pure chaos. *INTERMISSION* Chavo Guerrero vs Krusher Kruschev -After intermission, we get to calm things down a bit. Chavo Guerrero is really getting some momentum as a singles competitor and he shows off the skills right here tonight against Kruschev. In the final moments, we see a big head scissor take down leading to Chavo Guerrero hitting the MOONSAULT on Kruschev for the 1…2…3! The MSG crowd pops huge for the big move as Chavo is gaining steam by the day! Mark & Jay Youngblood vs One Man Gang & Jake Roberts w/ Kevin Sullivan -An odd pairing with the Gang and Jake, but they work well together. They handle the Youngbloods with no problem who just can’t seem to get any kind of offense going. In the end we see Jake nail Mark with a DDT followed by the Gang coming with a huge 747 SPLASH for the 1…2…3! MAIN EVENT Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs Nick Bockwinkel & Gino Hernandez w/ Bobby Heenan & Woman -A great 20-minute main event with the top four guys in the WWF right now. The primary work is done by Savage against Gino and Bock but when Hogan comes in the house comes unglued! The real highlight of the match is seeing the auro around Hogan vs Bock and then the work done by Gino and Savage. The finish is messy but fun to see as Savage comes off the top rope with a double axe handle smash to Hernandez who runs into a AXE BOMBER from Hogan for the 1….2…3! We see Bockwinkel try to steal Hogan’s belt but he comes out to stop him! The crowd gets to see Hogan and Savage pose as the show closes out. SirEdger
Good to see that my Masked Cowboy idea was useful to you! Also, GREAT main event with Hogan/Savage vs Bockwinkel/Gino. I would've paid whatever was needed to see this in the day.
kevinmcfl
Very well rounded card! Great Main event. There has been a lot of talk lately in this game about the mixing of stars into tag teams and the breaking up of tag teams into singles matches. It works great both ways. The more we see of the stars, the better the read. Terry Funk is such a promotion changer! Love the way you used him.

LowBlowPodcast
Brutus is going to have a similar run as someone else who would have arrived in the WWF in around 1986/1987. He may not be best suited for his role right now but something could change to make that better.
LowBlowPodcast
WWF Wrestling Challenge Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio Matches from Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid-Hudson Civic Center The Hart Foundation w/ Jimmy Hart defeated The Youngbloods -Good showcase for the Foundation who are firing on all cylinders right now. Bret is really progressing in the ring and the Anvil is pure power. -Footage was show from Terry Funk attacking the Briscoes the other night in MSG. We see the aftermath of the beat down and subsequent suspension of Terry and his brother Dory from the WWF for their actions. Tony Atlas defeated Dominic DeNucci -A good showing from Atlas who is getting bigger and stronger by the day. Bobby Heenan is pushing the Hercules feud big here. Jake Roberts w/ Kevin Sullivan defeated Barry Horowitz -Jake continues his dastardly ways through Horowitz this week. He is starting to get over with the fans even with the heat that Sullivan brings. Nick Bockwinkel w/ Bobby Heenan defeated Jim Brunzell -Bockwinkel is top notch here with his “REAL” World Title belt and Heenan is going nuts putting him over. Brunzell does a good job making Bock look like a million dollars but he doesn’t need to do much. Bock works the neck and finishes with a nice sleeper hold for the submission. He gloats around with the title belt asking about where’s Hogan? Where’s Hogan?

SirEdger
I know I'm biased because I was a part of those joint shows but this prelude to the Survivor Series would've been awesome in 1984. Great slate of shows.
kevinmcfl
The "Survivor" Series was a lot of fine. I wonder how Andre feels about the team being called the Hulkamaniacs. Funk is a show stopper. I know we had talked about him in the past and I was never on board as to just how big he could be. I was wrong. He is a show stopper! LowBlowPodcast
Do you know how much I'd pay to actually see Bockwinkel vs Savage? With Hogan in Japan, it is the only true BIG TIME main event I could come up with. The worst part is that in Hogan's Japanese tour, he gets "injured" the first match and then doesn't wrestle the whole time and is on a break.
kevinmcfl
How did wrestling contracts work back then? Why did promotions like WWF allow Hogan to go to Japan?
LowBlowPodcast
He had an agreement with New Japan to go and then once 85 rolled around they slowed down. However, in 1985, from January 1st through Feb 6th, he is in an unscheduled tour of Japan, but also has some US dates in there. It is all screwed up. I don't know how I am going to book him for the month of January, perhaps just have him off the road or have "taped" promos for him.
