KrisZ
Kris & David are guestless this week, discussing the week that was April 5-11, 1999. We talk about the possibility of RAW & Nitro running Atlanta on the same night going down the drain, a pretty fun New Japan Tokyo Dome show featuring Atsushi Onita, Lance Storm getting urine thrown on him, Mr. Corey loving Michael Hayes in Power Pro, and an epic WCW section filled with WCW stupidity at it’s finest. This show is filled with greatness so listen now!!!!! kbenn123
The Dale Gagner topic of the last 2 episodes had me look him up online, and I found this excellent article about his scams: http://www.citypages.com/news/dale-gagne-wrestles-with-the-truth-6743417 The article is from 2010, and he claims to have cleaned up his act, but who knows. He also claims in the article be writing a book, and I couldn't find it anywhere.
The Chief
Those "fake" WWF/WCW CDs havent crossed my mind since 1999. I received one as a "gift" and I can vouch that they were indeed horrible.
Cobra Commander
the big thing I remember out of the Jesse the Body NBC movie is that it aired head to head with Over the Edge
donsem43
Listening to the Emiko Kado story is pretty chilling after what happened with Shibata this week.
Cox
One of the wrestlers who Bix had not heard of while reviewing the Jersey All Pro section, The Orphan, was a UWC stalwart until about a year ago when he retired. I think he has the most matches in UWC history by a fairly healthy margin. Long time NJ death match guy who somehow became a UWC guy, despite the fact that UWC is about the most G-rated wrestling promotion of all time that doesn't allow wrestlers to use any gimmicks whatsoever, and found a niche in that environment somehow. Not that important, but I figured, when will I ever get to talk about The Orphan again, so why not?
ZThomas
That fact that Bret was a big part of WWF turning thing back around business wise by being the hue draw in Canada is never brought up, I was loving the US vs Canada angle when the ran those towns, The fact that WCW didnt use Bret properly to take over from WWF is crazy. Its even more crazy is that Vince Russo was going to be the guy to finally really give Bret a fair run as one of the top guys before he got hurt. The only reason I wish Owen had jumped with Bret after Montreal in hindsight is to avoid the whole Over the Edge accident
