gordi
And the sad news just keeps pouring in. Rayo de Jalisco is an absolute legend of lucha libre. He was a contemporary of El Santo and Blue Demon, and like them he also transitioned into making movies in the 1970s. He was 85 years old. SirEdger
Is it safe to say that hadn't he been in the shadow of El Santo, he could've been as big as him?
Al
I wish I had a comprehensive source on the history of lucha. I think Jalisco was the last great Mexican wrestler of his generation.

Santo was such a transcendent figure it's impossible to think anyone could have been as big as him. He could have been at the Blue Demon level though.
