VKM Accept Challenge To Face The Hardys On Sunday

On Wednesday, TNAwrestling.com received a call from the Voodoo Kin Mafia, who wanted to let the wrestling world know that they are publicly accepting the open challenge to face Matt and Jeff Hardy this Sunday night.

Although the open challenge was answered on their Monday night program by another tag team, BG and Kip would like to also accept the challenge to make it a three-way match.

According to BG, they will agree to compete in the bout under one condition – that the competition must cease and desist all “Dumb to the Xtreme” television skits effective immediately - and this must be verified by a signed and notarized legal document.

In turn, The Voodoo Kin Mafia will agree not to air their footage this Thursday night on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV.

“You know Vince – a funny thing happened on Monday afternoon on your website when we were watching your little online press conference,” BG James said. “When the Hardys made the open challenge, I couldn’t help but hear the fans chanting ‘VKM’. Some other tag team may have accepted it, but it’s still an open challenge and the Voodoo Kin Mafia want in the match – so let’s make it a three-way. You have until this Thursday night before ‘iMPACT!’ goes on the air to give us an answer.”

The Voodoo Kin Mafia await a response from the WWE regarding the acceptance of the open challenge….

In a move that likely won't make World Wrestling Entertainment management too thrilled when they hear about it, TNA stars Kip and BG James, the Voodoo Kin Mafia, are currently outside tonight's WWE house show in Knoxville, TN playing up their current "war" storyline. The team is flanked by a camera crew, TNA writer Vince Russo, and a group of "fans" with TNA posters and signs.

Thus far, VKM have shot vignettes where they attempted to pick up tickets from the box office and complained about the $50 ticket price. They are also interviewing fans that are entering the show, asking them their thoughts on WWE and DX.

At this point, no security for the venue or World Wrestling Entertainment has attempted to prevent the TNA crew from continuing to film footage.

AN UPDATE ON THE VOODOO KIN MAFIA AT KNOXVILLE WWE EVENT

On Friday evening, the Voodoo Kin Mafia traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee, to attend a WWE live event.

Shortly after TNAwrestling.com posted our first update, we received word that the Voodoo Kin Mafia did indeed purchase tickets to enter the building to personally deliver their cease and desist letter to those responsible for the “dumb to the xtreme” television skits.

In fact, TNAwrestling.com has learned that VKM made it inside the arena just in time to witness the main event featuring Paul Levesque! Following the bout, Levesque acknowledged VKM in the audience, but they were unable to follow through with their mission as he left the ring.

“Unfortunately, our attempts to serve Levesque were unsuccessful. We also noticed many of the fans’ attempts to stay awake during the main event were also unsuccessful,” James told TNAwrestling.com. “The good news is – the fat, oily guy was nowhere to be seen. At least the great fans in this city of Knoxville, Tennessee were spared that suffering tonight.”

James continued…

“Until we get them to sign our letter, our mission will continue. If those responsible for ‘dumb to the xtreme’ want to end this, they are always welcome to come to our live events in Orlando, Florida, to sign the letter. Plus, it will save Kip from driving the RV all over the country, because I can’t park that thing worth a damn.”

Just three of the latest news items regarding the gimmick of the Voodoo Kin Mafia, formerly The James Gang and formerly The New Age Outlaws, declaring war on DX and WWE. Does this make any kind of sense to anyone? It's a Vince Russo storyline, if that helps explain why such a nonsensical angle is taking place? What kind of payoff could possibly make this angle make sense or even make TNA look good?

I'd like to know why Jeff and Dutch let this thing go. Are they really unable to think of anything else to do with BG and Kip? If this is the best thing they can think of to do with BG and Kip, just let them go. They obviously aren't vital to TNA if that's the case, so why keep them around?

I think they somehow have convinced themselves that they are where WCW was in 1995 when Nitro started, and that they need to use the same tactics to get ahead WCW used then, meaning bashing WWE on the air and trying to embarrass them to get themselves publicity.

TNA most likely believes they're one great angle away from being able to compete.

The problem with that is that WCW and WWE were on somewhat equal footing. This kind of thing only really works if both sides are roughly on the same level, and TNA are well below WWE in just about every department. All it does is make TNA look even more minor league.

Well lets see, so far TNA has:

1. Promoted a WWE PPV by accepting the Hardys' challenge.

2. Bought tickets for a WWE event.

3. Mentioned WWE more on their website in the last couple weeks than WWE has ever mentioned a competitor ever.

Yeah, I'm sure Vince McMahon is sweating over TNA now, they just made him some extra pocket money.

I defend TNA more than most people on the internet (mostly because up til now most net complaints have been overexaggerated bullshit) but this stuff is indefensible.

Well, people are talking about it, so I guess that makes it a success by Vince Russo standards. Doesn't matter what they're saying, of course.

Remember, Russo thought David Arquette: World Champion was a success because USA Today had a picture of Arquette holding the title belt the next day. Never mind that it hurt the bottom line in the long (and short) run.
