Grimmas Posted October 27, 2023 Report Posted October 27, 2023 From El McKell: A tiny man, a technical wizard, more fun for me to watch than any of the old French heavyweights. I like that he can be this kind of base or whatever in the matches against Le Petit Prince where he grounds his opponent but he also gets to show one of the most athletic wrestlers in his place and time in other matches. Michel Saulnier vs Jo Marconville (1959/12/11) Michel Saulnier vs Jean Rabut (1965/06/20) Michel Saulnier vs Le Petit Prince (1967/09/30) & (1969/04/10)
Jetlag Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 No comments for Michel Saulnier, which is a pity, because he's an amazing wrestler who looks great in every single match he shows up in, perhaps with the exception of his referee appearances. Just an incredibly fast, athletic, technically skilled wrestler. I am especially particular towards the 1972 Guy Renault match which is one of the finest title matches I've ever seen. A quick glance shows me we have 11 matches of him, with some of them being clipped or JIP. It's very little, but it's worth digging through.
KB8 Posted March 25 Report Posted March 25 The match against Jean Rabut from '65 is incredible as well. One of the best "pure" wrestling matches (whatever that means, I guess) ever. Of course the stuff with Le Petit Prince is mind-blowing too. He was awesome.
