He also said that Jeff missed several flights, so presumably he just didn't want to be there.

Not necessarily. It only takes him missing one flight for it to turn into him missing several connecting flights.

How many connecting flights do you think there are between NC and Florida?

From Meltzer:

--Jeff Hardy missed multiple (the number I was given was six) flights from Raleigh to Orlando and that's why Sean Waltman subbed for him on the show last night. As it turned out, he did end up in Orlando last night. No word on how TNA will handle this situation. Given that this isn't the first time Hardy has missed shows in TNA, it would be hard not to fire him. But given that Matt is scheduled to start in July and they want to do a big PPV based around the return of the Hardy Boyz as a team, it would be hard to fire him.

You'd be surprised actually. I've had connecting flights going from Columbus, Ohio to New York.

I thought I read that he was in a Gauntlet match or something and just didn't wrestle in the advertised match.

Jarrett did AJ no favors in losing the NWA belt to him. The finish made AJ come off as second-rate, and not the superstar he should have, and AJ's big win came off as terribly anti-climactic. As Meltzer said on The Law on Sunday night, it was probably the only way Jarrett would drop the belt. The match itself wasn't that bad until the finish.

I have to admit, opening the PPV with the ten bell salute was very classy of TNA. I also liked the homage The Naturals played to Candido. The towel, chair, etc.

I really liked the opening video package too.

It was just the matches that weren't so good. At least Jarrett lost the belt. That's a good thing but it pretty much rules out Abyss getting it. Even if he did win the Gauntlet Battle Royal BS.

More TNA news, as it would appear that DDP is now gone.

According to several sources, former WCW World champion Diamond Dallas Page is gone from TNA. Page finished at the Hard Justice PPV this past Sunday. TNA management may not be seeing Page's departure as a loss as they were unhappy that he didn't want to put over Monty Brown without outside interference from Phi-Delta Slam.

It is believed that Page's status was a byproduct of due to the change in political power with Dusty Rhodes (who Page has always credited for helping make him a star and was close to) stepping down as booker. There really wasn't much left for Page to do in the company at this point either beyond putting over others. As noted earlier on PWInsider.com, Page is filming an episode of Entourage tomorrow and is finishing up his "Yoga for Real Guys" book

From PWInsider.

I actually think Page was the one established star that could have helped them, just because he could actually work (I'm assuming he could still somewhat go), but if he doesn't want to put over Brown cleanly, he doesn't understand his role anyway, so he's no loss. Second, the yoga book may actually sell well if it's promoted properly, because that's a unique way to market it.

Screw Page. A ton of much younger and more talented workers put him over to make him a star, at the very least he should be putting over guys like Monte, who are being groomed for the ME.
