  1. I must have missed Bret Hart's entry in it Edge is Canadian and he can sort-of do the sharpshooter. Just imagine in pink and black tights and it works! I wish they would have let CM Punk stay loner. It was getting great, which meant that they had to screw it up somehow. They made up for it with Miz and MVP and Batista throwing out HBK which put a smile on my face.
  2. You know how people would like to see Rock vs. Cena? I don't think it's gonna be happening any time soon.
  3. I remember making a joke at one point that this would happen after he said a few months ago that new talent needs to be put over. Just wait till his book comes out because it's going to get really sad and hilarious then.
  4. The lack of focus on a single point is the worst thing about Babbinsack if what I've seen in this thread shows anything. I don't read dirtsheets unless if they're posted on a forum so maybe this is just the worst of the worst. He goes from talking about Dr. Death to the return of Bret Hart by the end of the essay. Either stick to a topic or show some sort of transition between what you're writing about. They teach this sort of thing from middle school onwards; how did this guy miss that?

Since HBK/ Taker at last year's Mania was awesome...I'm willing to give a rematch another chance. And Hart wasn't "groveling", he was doing a "Hey, I'm willing to let bygones be bygones" deal and then Vince had to be a douchebag. And he will pay for his douchebaggery with a beating! From what I saw of Impact, it stunk. I would rather see Taker vs. Cena. The sequel generally isn't as good as the original. I wish that Vince would pay, but giving Raw's records with follow-ups over the years I think when it happens it will probably be dissapointing and I don't think I could sit through stuff like the Divas and DX long enough to get to that point. Glad to see MVP finally get used properly again though instead of being wasted doing lame rap songs and skits.

Can you blame them? I didn't get that vibe from TNA though despite the appearances of Hall, X-Pac, Ric Flair. Hogan (marked out for the nWo theme but I like Hendrix), and I'm sure I've missed a few people. Raw felt the same as always though I changed the channel when the Screwjob footage came up yet again. I was like "ALRIGHT ALREADY!" I hope ROH can find a better network and NWA can appear on more stations because more wrestling on my TV is good with me.

I actually liked Impact. It was pretty exciting and seeing guys like Styles and Pope do their thing was pretty fun. I don't really think too much about psychology and all that stuff when I'm watching; I just kind of switch it off until I get online. Raw was better than the past two weeks but I think that was only due to Bret Hart. His return disappointed me because I felt he groveled too much (not sure how else to put it). Seeing the guy who used to slap Vince around and routinely dominate HBK suddenly hugging and shit was a real turn off. It was as if all his arrogance and anger that made the Hitman memorable to me disappeared. I know he's been through a lot, but it was eerie. I'm just sad that Jericho won't be on Raw; I can't stand this version of DX. It's like the worst parts of the first two versions combined with kid-pleasing crap. I don't know how any kid could stand it because I know I would have hated it if I were 10 again. Hearing HHH didn't help matters. I don't understand why Orton would be afraid of his lackeys who kept getting beatup half the time. Sheamus does nothing for me as champ and why they have their champion fighting Evan Bourne (nothing against him; I like the guy in fact) is beyond me.
  8. I thought that was because Dusty made a bet that he could get anything ever, even himself dressed up in polka dots. I just ordered Gary Hart's book. He was a bit before my time because I did not start watching pro wrestling till 1992 but I decided to get it because I like reading about history no matter the subject and I heard somewhere that he hated Sting so that made me curious to find out why. Is it as good as Bret Hart's book or Foley's books?
  9. I haven't heard anything to suggest that he wanted to be more involved with WWE outside of hosting RAW, but maybe I missed the memo. My only comment is why do people want so badly to minimize his movie career? Sure, he's not going to be Oscar nominated anytime soon, but most of his movies have been moderate to major successes and I don't think any have been considered flops. People thought he was going to be the next Schwarzanegger despite the fact that to my knowledge Rock never said he intended to be the next big action star. Rock can do better than the Tooth Fairy and considering his roles in Faster, The Other Guys, the film done by the guy who directed Ong Bak, and the new Clint Eastwood film it seems he'll be moving along just fine. I can't think of many actors who get an Oscar in the first ten years of their career.
  10. ^ Nick Bockwinkel, the Rock, Keiji Mutoh, and Sting never came off like delusional egomaniacs but I never really paid attention to the backstage stuff.
  11. Wow. Did not know about that part. Totally different, then, yes. Wasn't that during the whole meeting with Vince in the park? I thought that was on his own.
  12. I'm not sure if the Internet is a good representation, but I've seen younger fans talk about Montreal though they generally believe the WWE's side of things.
  13. I remember reading somewhere that he wanted to film a movie but he didn't have the money to fund it himself. That may be why he's coming back. On one hand I like Bret but his appeal came more from his actions than his words. I don't know if he would be a good Guest Host but he couldn't be any worse than some of the guys they've had. The only bad thing is that they'll spend time rehashing Montreal yet again and it may end up like the returns of Foley and Austin where they just seem like watered-down versions of themselves.
  14. I can see your point, but what I don't understand is that Christian and other wrestlers do a great job on ECW and yet they don't seem to go to the next step which I would figure is going on to Smackdown.
  15. I haven't watched Raw regularly in years, but from what I've seen of Sheamus he's stunningly average. In a company where Christian and others get no real chances in the spotlight it's a shame to see guys like Sheamus and Drew Mcyintyre getting pushes. After seeing how they fucked over MVP and how they're going to do the same to Kofi I've realized that they didn't learn from what they pulled with guys like RVD, Jericho, and Booker T several years ago. When WCW did things like this people online complained and still do to this very day but when the WWE does it all of a sudden there's a whole bunch of excuses. Me, when I watch wrestling I would like not to see backstage nonsense affecting what I see on my TV.
  16. Or the scores of fans who happy to hear about the death of Victor QuiƱones? That's serious, but why would they hate QuiƱones? I've heard some nasty rumors about him but I don't think the average fan would have heard of them unless if it got out in public.
  17. I laughed at that story. I know, I'm terrible. Would this be similar to the fans who yelled "Die Rocky Die" or laughed when HHH got his first quad injury?
  18. Well, everyone has their haters. Speaking of haters, I watched the Self-Destruction of the UW on Youtube recently. I find it hilarious that J.R makes fun of Warrior becoming a motivational speaker and compares it to wrestlers who found religion while being on the same DVD as Ted Dibiase. This is coming from someone who thought Warrior was alright but found his political views to be hilarious and shrill.
  19. How can a man fuck up so badly? If you had told me that Flair was always in debt as a kid I would have laughed hard and wondered why you would make up lies like that.
  20. Longevity is overrated. I would rather watch a wrestler that improved and went out on top in 6 years than to watch a wrestler who was great for the first 6 years of their career, okay for the following 4, and unwatchable afterwards.
  21. There's an '85 Observer where he wishes death on Andre and Studd because they're having such bad matches. Who needs a newsletter? The Internet is the perfect place to engage in fan entitlement.
  22. Any truth to it? That would be weird. I remember that case being about Accolade reverse-engineering their games so that they could get around Sega's copyright protection software for the Sega Genesis. I think Electronic Arts (now EA) did the same thing too. I don't see how fan footage would have anything to do with that. Even if the fans were selling the footage, it's not like they somehow got a hold of the WWE's camera equipment and copied the footage from their tapes. Sorry, I can't think of a good example that would be the equivalent of what Accolade did.
  23. I can't answer the first one, but I can say that Eddy and Bret were better in both comparisions. Rey is a talented wrestler and a great babyface, but he never had the versatility that Eddy did. Eddy could work any style, whether it was brawling, technical, high-flying, or anything else (not sure about shoot-style), and it never came off as odd or awkward. He would constantly destroy Rey on the mic and was so charismatic that even when he was threatening Rey's wife and kid he'd still get cheered. I'm not a huge fan of Bret or Shawn, but from childhood onwards I always thought Bret was the better of the two. Bret could get repetitive especially near the end of his career but one thing I always liked about him is that he would go out of his way to make his opponent look great in the ring. He would never overshadow them like Michaels often did. When Bret fought a guy like Nash, he would take on a different strategy than if he was fighting Bulldog or Austin. Michaels seemed more concerned with showing off his surprisingly average high-flying (I always preferred guys like 2 Cold Scorpio and El Hijo del Santo growing up) even if it didn't make any sense and even if it ended up making his opponent look like an idiot (ex. his matches with Vader). Bret was more convincing in his character; I could see him being champion in a way that I could never see Michaels doing. The way he carried himself in the ring despite wearing pink was awesome and was oftentimes one of the few good things WWF had going at the time. When I saw Michaels as WWF champion, the first thing that came to mind at the age of 7 was "That's the best they can do? LOL HOW SAD." I would see this dude stripping and wondering why in the hell he was doing that. For the record, I'm a woman and I never found HBK to be attractive (not my type I'm afraid). On the mic both guys were good but inconsistent but Bret seemed to be way better at cutting promos that made you think "Yeah, this guy's for real." With HBK, what I generally thought was "OOH DISS" or "Well, they had to give time to the cokehead." Both I'm sure have engaged in backstage nonsense, but at least Bret's never ended up affecting what I saw on TV. Whenever HBK politicked it was like some Lex Luthor BS except he would always fail which made him look like a complete moron. I mean, Hogan at least succeeded when he lied and manipulated.
  24. LOL if Bret himself sent that question. I would think someone like Meltzer would be a Simpsons' fan.
  25. I remember reading somewhere that Rock didn't like the Rock and Sock Connection when he first did it. Vader and Bam Bam didn't get along because Bam Bam thought Vader was a jerk for slapping an old woman for not picking them up from the airport on time.
