Surely he has someone retire him for the rub? I was hoping we'd get matches with Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, Sting and John Cena before he retired. Wonder if those will ever happen now. What a weird ending, they were obviously hoping the crowd would be going crazy over the near falls, but then why give it such a terrible build? Was it a recent decision? Because if not you have to wonder why they made such a mess of booking the match.

Jesus, what a anticlimactic end to the streak. It should have ended after an epic, emotional match with Taker in a pool of blood. They should have at least saved it until they had ran Undertaker vs John Cena. Maybe Cena retires him at Wrestlemania next year? Kind of shows the absurdness of WWE booking. They can't bring themselves to have Lesnar beat John Cena, or have him go over HHH at Wrestlemania. Yet then he goes and ends the streak.

Fucking hell.

When you are working this pace you really need blood and weapons to pique the interest. To be fair the Lesnar/Taker matches weren't anything to write home about a decade ago, other than the bloodbath Hell In The Cell, so not sure why people had such high hopes for them ten years on when both are part timers and one is really broken down.

Lazy build leads to underwhelming match. Nobody believes Undertaker is losing, and the feud has been really bland and heatless, so there is no real reason to care.

Ending was a bit low key, otherwise that turned into a very good match. Loved the stuff with the chair.
-
It isn't that they are/were shitting on Cena though, it was just a weird crowd reaction, they seemed restless and unsure. Had a weird premonition that Cena goes heel tonight and costs Bryan the belt.
-
Crowd don't seem into this at all. Think I was right about it being too soon for Wyatt. Hope it picks up because the match is pretty decent.
-
Another really cool entrance. Got a feeling the crowd is going to be solidly behind Wyatt.

Only fitting to recreate the Wrestlemania 3 slam now they are back at the Silverdome...Great match, and I despise battle royals usually. What a fucking show so far.
-
Nah, that was way less methodical and plodding than your average Triple-H match. Just about all of those spots were fresh out of Daniel Bryan matches.
-
Goodhelmet's favourite match ever. Total squash.
-
What? Structurally it was way closer to a big Bryan Daniel match than a big Triple-H match. Since when does HHH bust out sunset flip powerbomb spots or tiger suplexes? Not his match at all, although he held his end up.
-
Daniel Bryan just took HHH to his best match in over a decade. Bit weird with them channeling Benoit through a lot of the spots, but otherwise amazing. HHH busting out the chicken wing for the first time since the Benoit match in 2000 probably. Loved Steph talking shit at ringside, "Nobody does it like you hunter" and "You're b plus at best". Crowd is awesome. All the kicks and knees looked really stiff. Best match I've seen this year. Props to HHH for jobbing clean as a whistle.

Going to stop spamming, but this entrance is amazing. HHH trolling so hard and it's hilarious.

That segment and Bryan/HHH back to back. Perfect way to get hyped for the show, what a start.

Austin, Rock and Hogan together in a WWE ring. Imagine that prospect four years ago?
-
Funniest Wrestlemania moment ever. Is Hogan off his tits on something? Hear comes Austin, should be good. Brilliant ad lib from Austin "Great to be back at the silverdome"
-
Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs CM Punk to headline Wrestlemania? Green Lantern Fan as special referee?
-
Great little match, disappointed Cesaro took the fall though, especially considering how over he is. Wish they weren't so obsessed with breaking teams up, The Real Americans & The Shield are both awesome and its a shame for them to disband. If Cesaro goes face they should keep Zeb with him.

Cool set. In the words of Jesse Pinkman: "It's all like shiny and shit!"

Just seeing Bryan/HHH will be kind of surreal to me. If you'd have told a smart fan in 2003 that small, nerdy looking indy darling Daniel Bryan would have been going over hated, bloated, office manipulator HHH in the Wrestlemania main event a decade later I would have said you were crazy. At best most people thought Bryan would get to William Regal level. 90s smarks got their moment in 2004 with the hard working, under appreciated guys they were repping for a decade hit the big time finally. Tonight is that moment for the fans who came up on the Attitude Era and got into indy wrestling and puroresu as they became teenagers in 2001-2004, who have followed the Low-Ki, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson generation of indy stars for the best part of fifteen years.

Despite my ambivalence towards this card, WWE is in a really good place right now. They have so much talent, all the veterans are being used well, they are engaging with the past a lot at the same time as creating future stars. Feels like there is a buzz around wrestling again. Plus Vicki Guerrero is leaving after tonight, which brings a neat close to that horrible era of the company that coincided with her as the 'General Manager' for years on end, no wonder so many long term fans tuned out. She is truly the worst 'talent' to have been with the company for any length of time, serious X-Pac Heat for years, fuck knows why they stuck with her. She was a big reason I completely tuned out between 2007 and 2011.

Bray Wyatt singing "He's got the whole world in his hands" on the pre show is cringe worthy. The type of shit that makes you embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. I'm amazed people actually like his character.

Not sure if this is tongue in cheek; it seems to overestimate the ignorance and laziness of people. They have been shilling the network on Raw regularly, with the commentators running through what exactly it is and how you use this. Plus people can Google it in seconds, everyone has laptops and tablets and smartphones now. The amount of people ordering Wrestlemania via traditional channels because they are confused about the network will be very low. A lot of people don't like change, and they like things that are easy and reliable. Hence the show will still do plenty of buys.
