Someone should point out to him that the evil Bix is not Canadian, but a proud American!

Sounds like a lot of financial details were kept confidential even from the secretary of Wrestlers Rescue.

Strikeforce Challengers 9 ratings peak with 254,000 viewers for Kaufman-Modafferi.

Hmm, maybe I missed it, but I don't think he did. He didn't mention it while talking about the New York Times article at least.
-
Yeah, the typical "Diva" body is impossible to attain and maintain year round on the road without artificial help unless you have awesome genetics.
-
In the latest Observer Radio Show Dave Meltzer mentioned that he did business with Jim Herd after he left WCW. Anyone know what that was about?
-
Hmm, I suppose pulling the link to the board off the main site will make it more difficult for people within TNA to accidentally stumble on fans completely shitting on their product, which clearly reflects badly on Dave Scherer.
-
I think Dave's cool with that because he couldn't do the newsletter, the website and his work for Yahoo! Sports without someone sharing the load. I'm not sure it's merely his humor that allows Bryan to get away with being a "bad influence", but more because he reinforces Dave's opinions, doesn't challenge him very often and when he does, is easily schooled.

I was trying to be diplomatic.

The cheesy stereo "Oh yeahs" don't help.

To be fair and it pains me to say it, but Scherer does have a point about the board reflecting badly on Bryan and Dave at times. Speaking of the Observer message board, Dave Meltzer and Todd Martin arguing over the match ordering of Friday's Strikeforce Challengers show (should Sarah Kaufman's women's welterweight title match have finished the show instead of the Del Rosario squash?) was amusing.

I don't get the lesbian conotations.

Does Tommy Dreamer coming to TNA mean Dave Scherer's going to be their house organ from now on?
-
Wikipedia says co-founder and business manager, though I don't know how accurate that is. Torch archives about the job shuffling at Titan Sports in May 1993 don't specify her previous title and says it was merely a cosmetic change.

Yeah, a few days ago I put over John Cena at Cageside Seats as "a humble, private man who goes out of his way for charitable causes and to make sick children's dreams come true". What could be more positive than that? I find the talking point that somehow we're horribly negative about the business is amusing when the narrative of the people we critique like Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez is how much pro wrestling sucks today compared to UFC, how incompetent WWE and TNA's creative teams are, etc.

She was made CEO in 1997, it was the role of President that she was given when they thought Vince might be jailed for some time. To the best of my knowledge, no-one has connected the dots yet.

And remember this was written in late 1993! I mean poor persecuted Jim Cornette, he couldn't use the n word in public by that time without being called a racist. He had it hard, real hard.

And people complained that we were being too hard on poor Babinsack...

From Dave Meltzer, TNA's Florida competitors may have one up on them in the Herb Abrams level stakes: Nothing says "cutting edge" and "innovative" like immediately signing all the aging relics that are your friends.
-
Now, now, we all know Wade shouldn't take a promo so seriously.
-
Yeah, that's why I posted it. It was refreshing to hear Meltzer give Luger his due.

Dave on "Could Barry Windham have been the next big thing?":
-
Yeah, I think Dave did mention that in one of his recent news updates, now that I come to think of it. I should have mentioned that too.

I think he negated the "but Flair thinks Angle is the best ever" point by going on about how WWF workers in 1989 thought Tully and Arn were so overrated and in 2001 thought DDP was so overrated, because they couldn't work WWF style. So why should we take what Flair says with anything more than a pinch of salt?

Because, I guess "rock and roll concerts" have never been like wrestling, with the sleazy promoters and entertainment. I was listening to that and thought the same thing. Clearly concert promotion is nothing like pro wrestling, what with all the local promoters largely replaced by a nationwide conglomerate. The one thing that is exactly like wrestling, and Dave missed it completely. Maybe he has some form of dyslexia. Dave and Bryan need to see more concerts in Las Vegas together.
