I'm listening to the B&V&C Mania recap and Vinny put over a Bianca post-Mania promo that she did online or on the network or something and said it was one of the best babyface promos ever Bianca is def super likable, super impressive in-ring.......she has incredible potential to be a legit cross-over star. I worry they're gonna mess it up, because they always do But also, despite how not progressive WWE is in many ways, you have to give them credit for not only pushing women, but investing in the future with them. They're getting top level college athletes because it's one of the few ways for women to make real money in that line of work. As times go on, with progress in sports science and quite frankly progress in the quality and number of female athletes out there due to societal changes, that might be the best pipeline for young talent. I'm a little worried that the NCCA pipeline is drying up. Without Ross, and now Brisco......Meltzer made a really good point that a lot of amateur wrestling coaches are biased against pro-wrestling and you really need the right people and the right relationships in the future. I don't know if Angle would be a good person for that, probably not, but they need someone. Regal does a great job scouting for them IMO, but they also need someone to scout the amateurs and the other athletes.

The HHH thing is interesting.......but consider the source. On no planet would Ryback have ever been the next John Cena. Could have been a bigger star, sure, but not like that. Kinda sounds like HHH letting the guy off lightly I still contend they'd love to have another guy like Cena, while also to your point pushing the brand as the main draw. It's kind of always been that way though. Hogan was massive, Austin was massive, but they were always pushing the brand uber alles. There's a reason the first thing most people in America and Canada think of when they think of rasslin is WWF/E You actually can have it both ways, the big star gets the promotion over and vice versa, they've just got shockingly bad at getting babyfaces over with their audience. And that's totally on them, because everyone the audience falls in love with they manage to either fuck up via bad booking or cool them off for no good reason I can maybe see something to Vince not wanting anyone pulling power plays on him like big stars have done before. Seemingly the only person he makes a real exception for is Brock.....but c'mon, I give him a pass on that, it's Brock F'n Lesnar. A lot of the talent is getting fucked over hard by the promotion at this point

I'm sure they'd love to have their next John Cena by now, but they don't grow on trees. Compound that with their awful booking and you get what we get. A generally shitty product. You've also got the weirdness of the way they market to kids with a product that I don't think is super kid friendly, but then again it's not super adult friendly either. The half-in/half-out style of the promotion is just weird and it leads to weird characters with odd motivations Apparently Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss, ostensibly satan worshipers who transport between dimensions doing evil shit, are supposed to be babyfaces. Whatever.

I have to give WWE production mad props for morphing Roman's walk in into video game cuts
-
I thought you were Brian Last at first. You outed yourself as not now, and now I must ask why Cien Caras is your favorite rassler?

pirate birds.... fuck it, I'm high, I like this now

Shayna should be in a better match than this, def below her level here. Nia isn't very good, god bless her for being the greener one who has to carry these matches
-
I just tuned in....they put a ring mat down on the ramp.....not taking any chances
-
so much to say.... as a proud Lucifarian let my pentagons alone plz "The Fiend" still uses the same offense as Husky Harris.....no buys, that's why
-
This is spot on. Worked themselves into a shoot, brother

Big fan of the pod. Say hello to the kids I don't watch much but my youtube would def be full of random old lucha, old WCW.......whatever odd BJPW garbage matches I can find......Puerto Rican sillyness where that truck never would have made it the stadium because the wires had been cut and this rookie wouldn't have had the balls in the first place.........

I mean.....is everyone in on the joke but Hogan and Vince at this point? It's kind of sad how Vince can't quit him, and how he can't quit Vince Could 'The Huckster' ever just plz go the fuck away at some point? If being outed on tape as a legit racist who just.....wow......it was casual as shit the way he talked and threw the n word around about who his daughter was hanging and banging with brother.........until Vince is dead he's gonna keep bringing him back to diminishing returns and backlash but hey, Saudi Arabia, right? *spit*leg

Hi, Brian I get it man. I'm a horrible rasslin fan by all accounts. Give me Terry Funk, Abby and Sabu (NOT THE SHIEK, but he's ok too).......crowds throwing piss filled bottles........ But I'm not gonna lie and be a stick in the F'n mud either. I like flips. I like dives. Has it ruined wrestling? Sure. Who cares? Adapt or die. Learn from your great elder Terry Funk, the man who first sparked this wisdom for me when he was middle aged and cray The Terry Hogan v. Terry Funk thing, is that a thing? But anyway, it was painful to see Hogan begging for a pop, with his fugazi belt with the nWo spraypaint......modern WWE is Vince's senile fever dream at this point

my other fave moment was on the pre-show in the rain delay they cut to a video and the female host asked if they were "on call" essentially, and someone was like "God, I need to take a piss, so I hope not" and they cut they audio lmao

Imagine if Flair had put over Lex the way Banks did for Bianca....... Best excuse I've seen so far for Cole blowing the finish was that he was out there a long time and the Qualudes finally kicked in hard
-
This. I've never actually visited the great FLA myself, because fuck that shit......but c'mon.......this is SOP for FLA. It's why they stuck the Rays in a dome near an airport

I think this might be the end of my wrestling fandom. it was fun to get drunk and watch, but if that's what it takes? we'll see where I'm at when night 3 starts
-
I'm kind of an unrepentant drunkard at this point in my life, but it probably says more about WWE than me that I can't watch their shows without gimmicks. It's been that way for a while now..... whereas when watching something old and/or goofy, I can watch that shit SOBER AS FUCK. WWE literally drives me to drink Like, the second Hogan and Titus showed up, if I didn't have beer I would have said fuck this shit and turned it off. With beer I just laugh at how horrible WWE is and by proxy how horrible I am for watching and condoning their shit, then I start to wonder where the afterparty is in Tampa......and before I know it Hogan is off my tv

Wasn't a great show at all IMO, but it was enjoyable and watchable, and that's the best you can expect from WWE these days. Compared to the mostly unwatchable WM last year and the horribly long shows of the recent past this was a home run, but let's not go crazy with the recency bias. I watched a handful of pandemic NJPW shows over the past year that were better than this....and I watched like 10% max of NJPW's shows..... A very memorable main event, a couple well laid out tags, one protecting a super green giant and the other a non-wrestler, a good Cesaro-Seth match with some memorable spots and a good hoss world title opener with a surprising finish which was definitely hurt by the rain delay and the guys not wanting to kill themselves out there. One really good match, some acceptable stuff on the undercard and a couple bathroom break matches does not make this an instant classic First live WWE show I've watched since NXT debuted the "Capital Center" for one of the Takeovers. Very hard for me to watch their product during the pandemic, but I also wasn't into it much pre-pandemic. It was watchable and fun, it was nice to have the crowds back, and it didn't burn me out......quite the opposite, I'm actually really looking forward to night II now And even with me finding it a mostly enjoyable watch, I could NOT have watched this show without beer......

damn look at Sasha's ribs from the hair spot
-
DONT SLAP THE LEG ON THE HAIR SLAP that woke the crowd up for a sec BOTCHED FINISH IN A WOMEN'S WM MAIN EVENT AGAIN?!!?!?
