This was better than OMG vs Tatanka that's for sure. Hennig was trying his best by bleeding and bumping for Rodman. Rodman actually sold something which is a plus and this match is short. Crowd throws trash again and that seems very staged like WCW.

For Matt D:

This was pretty dull. Tatanka blows up about 2 minutes in so Gang goes to the outside. Fans were throwing trash at Gang at an alamring rate. Felt like a 80's Puerto Rico show. Then Gang gets back into the ring and they start wrestling and the crowd is silent. Didn't this show take place in Australia? I know they were wrestling starved at the time but this match was enough to kill the territory.

This was awesome just for the prematch video and Onita's entrance. No one can do a entrance like that man. The trash being thrown at him just adds to it unlike when WCW did it. As for the match, it's what I expected. Lots of blood from Onita and Choshu walking tall. It was like a Lawler vs outsider match where the babyface takes most of the match. I liked Onita getting out of the crab by grabbing on to the barb wire and it exploding in his face. Great spectacle.

The heels entrance with the women wearing Shinizaki caps was funny. This was pretty good with the heels going after Oya's injured ribs and Hayabusa flying all over the place. I liked when Fuyuki goes after the ribs, he makes a weird screaming noise. The turn didn't make sense but was fine because the crowd popped for it.

After watching that interview, Ali is a way better heel than he was a face. He brings up all the talking points and even says he's "shooting". Ali/Spellbinder looks like it could be something that carries the promotion but Ali would soon be gone before that coule happen. As for the match, it was pretty crazy with Corey almost taking a bump off the stage twice and them brawling all over the studio. Reminded me of the Vic Grimes matches in 99.Spellbinder does a dive where he somehow misses three guys and almost lands on his head. That was nuts.

Taylor's Mullet is nice and very southern. Enjoyable match with Styles getting major air on the backdrops and being a good heel. Taylor was alright and I liked his Belly to Belly suplex. Prazak totally telegraphed the Jorge Estrada return and I'm shocked that wasn't the finish.

This was pretty sad. These guys were killing each other in silence basically. I know that happened a lot in IWA but it was really noticable here with it being outdoors. I don't think Cash Flo did many deathmatches but he took some bumps into the thumbtacks. I liked how he seemed to have a shaker of tacks and Corp basically said " dump the whole thing." Bull comes out and lays out Corp with a chairshot. Wasn't Corp the heel at the time with the MAW crew?

I didn't know Cabana did a gay gimmick. That was unexpected. Ok match with a lot of mistimed moves but some good stuff too. The tree of woe attempt with the chair was a little long. Cabana does look better than Punk has so far.

So Ian goes from one building that he left because they weren't drawing to what looks like a junkyard with hardly anyone there. Oh IWA. This was ok but the fake finish took me out of it. Was this the beginning of the Fannin heel turn? The finish came off really flat with Kickboxer barely saying I quit.

Has wrestling gone overboard with the various streaming services?
Tim Evans replied to rzombie1988's topic in Pro Wrestling
Trauma 2 was booked for the first powerbomb live show and then unbooked when that came out and replaced by puma and felino. -
Prazak coming out to Sherri's version of the HBK theme is a great bit of heel managing. Punk cuts a decent promo for the time to start the match.Sherri's bump through the table looked like it didn't feel good. I didn't think much of this because it was basically what all these multi person table matches are: do a spot and then take 5 minutes to set up the next spot. The SSP through the table was awesome though. Bambino might have the best SSP i've seen besides Sydal.

From what I understand, iwa mid south booked Elgin for a powerbomb stream show. This pissed off co founder of powerbomb Adam lash who requested they not air that show. His partners disagreed and they let him go from powerbomb. Now people are angry and unsubscribing from powerbomb. -
Ali was under a WCW Developmental deal I believe. Same as guys like Colorado Kid and Chris Harris were. This wasn't too bad I though. Wolfie is good enough to get something decent out of the broomstick that is Blade. Finish was weak though. Why couldn't Wolfie just beat Blade? At least we got the set upto the tag match.
-
This was a nice spectacle. Lots of nutty bumps from all the guys and Backseat boys looked like a good tag team. Still, Ric blade comes off like the stupidest wrestler ever. The valet spot was bad enough ( I did like he she basically no sold it) but the swanton was worse. He barely hit Acid on the table and just took all the force on himself. Mondo's dive through the tubes was just as bad. Sometimes, you just watch that and be amazed. Crazy stuff.

With all the talk of ratings and getting a WWF deal, you would think Russo was the color commentator. OK squash that meant nothing thanks to Cornette.
-
Match never really happens as Rico blows out his knee and they have to improvise with Dinsmore coming out. This isn't too bad till the refs run in. Flash bumping for the ref is just utter bullshit. It's like Cornette saw the hebner/HHH stuff and said "lets somehow do that but worse." Flash dumping Disnoreon his head was rough looking.
-
Zandig throwing Pain into the crowd and the guys not catching him is scary but a awesome looking visual. Zandig looks like he blows out his knee while trying to climb the ropes and the match never recovers after that. Just a lot of setting up spots and bad booking. I did like the fire alarm going off multiple times during the match.

[1991-03-30-WCW-Saturday Night] Tommy Rich vs Arn Anderson
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Watched this part of the Secret Santo project Another good Arn Anderson tv title match. He gives Tommy a lot of offense and had some unique comebacks including the sid interference and baiting Tommy into the corner and then punching him in the face. Tommy is probably in the best shape of his life during this run and is a better opponent for Arn than say Terry Taylor or Tom Zenk. I liked that the sid interference wasn't the end of the match. However, one of my pet peeves in wrestling is the ring announcer doing the countdown of the time limit over the mic. It makes the finish so obvious and hurts the match to me. I still enjoyed it but not as much as if it had a clean finish.- 10 replies

[2018-02-02-FIP-Everything Burns] Darby Allin vs Jon Davis
Tim Evans posted a topic in February 2018
This match was for the FIP Florida Heritage title. Davis has been the champ for almost a year. He doesn't wrestle much anymore but when I've seen him, he's been really good. I liked the story of the match of him just destroying Darby with chops and throwing him all over the place. Darby takes his usual crazy bumps including getting slammed on the stage af the Orpheum. Darby does a crazy dive off a big pole near the roof of the building that has to be seen to believe. I didn't know what to expect from this but it turned out to be one of the better matches I've seen this year. The show is worth watching but this match especially. -
This started out nice with lots of big bumps into the ladder by the squad and some vintage 2000s brawling. Then it went on and on and got boring. Loved the finish though. I'm surprised that finish doesn't happen more often.
-
That fire spot was insane. Like so much could have gone wrong if it ws off by a second. Typical Onita style match. I loved his feud with the table. That first piledriver had to suck for Nakamaki. The second one had to suck for Onita who took a hard bump on his shoulder. Loved the post match with him cutting his crying promo and hitting everyone with water.

For Matt Franklin, I got a fun Onita bunkhouse brawl match from 1990
