Guess Braun isn't ready to compete after all. Surely there could have been a better way to write him out than more McMahon browbeating.

The content dump for January is going to be WWF Superstars, about 30 or so episodes starting from April 1992. That time frame is being chosen because it's when the show name was shortened from "Superstars of Wrestling" since there's still (!) legal wrangling about that name.

There's a place for everything in wrestling I think. Comedy's fine as long as it's not the central focus, or grade school poop joke nonsense like Vince seems to prefer.

Or at least a guy who should stay in NXT, I don't see him as a guy who would ever get a fair chance on the main roster unless maybe on 205 Live (if that counts). Rhea dropping the belt like that maybe a sign she's going to get moved to US NXT perhaps?

So apparently Lawler/Gagne were a replacement in the match against Choshu/Saito, it was supposed to be the Rockers but they quit to go to the WWF. Did that match ever happen, because holy shit that sounds like it would be great.

Hero's role was always to be a player-coach and give the newbies someone to work with who knows what they're doing. I didn't think there was anyone expecting him to go to the main roster.

TBS was originally WTBS (or WTCG first I believe), a local Atlanta station that Ted took national. He also had ownership in the Braves and Hawks in the 80s/90s which is why they had their games on there. Wrestling was one of the bedrock shows that he used to take his station nationwide, which is why he never listened to the execs that tried to get him to dump it. He had a loyalty to it because it helped make TBS back in the day. The Peachtree network mentioned above is actually the original WTBS that was spun off to remain a local Atlanta affiliate when TBS was turned in to a more "serious" network.

Dave did say they wouldn't have a wellness policy because most of the guys involved don't even drink, which got a lot of LOLs on the interwebs since Jericho's kind of known for being the fun drunk in public on numerous occasions. Kind of surprised about this, if only for how they've spent so much time building up TBS as a comedy type network. I'd be happy to see it happen though, as wrestling on TBS is one of those things that just should always be.

Doesn't it seem weird that it appears Lacey Evans was the only one on the current list of callups to not get the usual NXT send off?

I'm hoping all these AWA related gems popping up means they've been working on that section of the library in prep for a classic content dump.

Honestly, people running in to declare the thread off the rails is more annoying than anything else that's gone on here. When a promotion makes equal pay an important issue, donates proceeds of their second (well technically third I guess) show to benefit victims of gun violence, and has at least considered providing health insurance it's going to be difficult to discuss this promotion without someone catching feelings I suppose.

Those by and large would be terrible people IMO. Anyone who thinks treating employees fair and offering health benefits is a dealbreaker deserves maximum side eye at the very least.

That introductory promo for EC3 where he strips down to his gear in a hotel room looks like an assault is about to occur.

I guess the story is Braun hasn't been cleared for anything physical yet, so we got......whatever that was. I found myself wondering if he blanked on his lines or something since it was just moments of him awkardly staring blank-faced into the camera.

After listening to the latest WOR, it seems like the likely play now is New Japan working with AEW after the MSG show is done. They really don't want to lose Kenny and Dave was fairly certain he's not going to WWE, so working with AEW would be how that happens. I guess the question is what does Kenny do between now and then? Maybe they are building Kenny/Tana for the MSG show main event but that's in April so that would be a lot of down time until then.

I'm sure someone's asked, they've probably kicked the tires on everyone in the world that has any name recognition. KUSHIDA will probably be a star on NXT, but that is most likely his ceiling in WWE. If he's lucky he could go to Smackdown and have a Nakamura like run, or he could end up on Raw and be Japanese Mojo Rawley.
