I could see that. I was also thinking maybe that's how they plan to introduce EVIL

Apparently Jericho's AEW deal has been frozen since he left on his sabbatical, so unless TK feels like helping out WWE it's probably not him.

I can see this turning into a story where Mox and Takeshita end up becoming bros since they are both dudes who respect the fight. It could be a babyface moment for both of them since who doesn't like seeing two awesome wrestlers acknowledge each other, and it would really piss off Don Callis (furthering the split there). Since it seems the slow burn is a Death Riders vs Callis Family feud, having Takeshita team up with his new respected colleague would also help even the odds since the Callis Family has a million dudes in it.

Have to say I agree with pretty much every winner here. CMLL had a historically great year drawing and Mistico is once again The Guy. Funny that bringing back Lesnar was named most disgusting tactic considering it's not even the worst thing WWE did last year. The entire award itself is the stupidest thing ever considering it's gone from "wanting people to think this monster is real" to "exploiting the worst things humanity can think of".

Under-the-radar wrestling book recommendations
sek69 replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in Pro Wrestling
A lot of that came from wrestlers at the time complaining to Dave about Gorilla "ruining" things by saying things like "that move won't win the match" on near falls from moves that guys never ended a match with. I guess I can see how that would be irritating but as a kid who didn't give a shit about that kind of thing I loved Gorilla on commentary. -
I have to admit I'm loving how Bronson Reed's role in the Vision is "guy trying to keep his drunk friend (Logan) from doing something stupid", it cracks me up since as an Aussie I'm sure he has real life experience in that role.

So apparently John Cena isn't going in this year so Steph can be the headliner. I'm someone that agrees she deserves to be in but come the hell on.

Not to defend Hunter, but it seems like every time Liv is about to hit the next level she gets injured. It's not even her fault, she just had some real shit luck. Also I didn't hate her staying with the Judgement Day since she seems like one of those who's better as a heel and her and Dom make an excellent villain pairing. I have doubts about Raquel as a singles act, so them teasing a feud between them feels like she's about to get Janetty'd. I do think Jacy Jayne will at least get a shot on the main roster since word is they've been high on her for a while. Her NXT run apparently opened some eyes on the main roster, so she should have at least a decent chance to make something happen.

Watching the Rumble after work, and while the whole Saudi thing is what it is it's at least interesting tȯ see the designs the women come up with for their body suits. Sol rocking the 90s jeans look got a pop from me.

Tommaso Chiampa made his debut tonight, guess all that talk about an indy run was a SWERVE~! after all.

So EVIL is leaving New Japan and going to WWE? I get it from his viewpoint, I'm sure it's his biggest contract ever, but why does WWE want him? Unless this is some kind of NXT player-coach situation I don't see it.

Jacob with the early contender for 2026 promo of the year last night, dude is money.

Yeah, it looks like NXT may have found the next tentpoles for the women's division with Laney Reid and Kendal Grey. Both of those are starting to separate themselves from the pack.
-
I've said it before, but seeing them on NXT TV full time really shows how Vanity Project has real douchebag heel potential. Clearly they still need time to cook, but I can see something there.

So Hobbes is going to WWE and the Rascalz are going to AEW. This seems like one of those things that is the best move for all involved. TK doesn't seem to like to use big power guys as anything more than secondary muscle in a faction, so Hobbes probably hit his ceiling there, and obviously he's like a WWE wish list come to life. Toss in the rumors that Hunter wants to push more black guys to quell the one lingering critique of his booking, and this was the absolute perfect time to play the "bet on yourself" card. The Rascalz clearly are a great fit for AEW and their house style, and they got lucky enough to get out of dodge just in time to not have a front row seat for an all timer LOLTNA moment. Apparently there's something going on with Trey Miguel since he suddenly deleted all mentions of AEW from his social media, but honestly I think Myron Reed is better anyway so if its just the other 3 then that's fine.

So far it seems like the folks just called up from NXT are getting a push right from the jump, hopefully it's the jolt needed to liven things up. If Obi Femi isn't a megastar it'll be booking malpractice.
-
Toni was the lead of course, but I thought she held up her end of the deal well enough. I wasn't expecting the void we've been seeing in NXT so far.
-
Honestly even before that happened, I've never seen a wrestler regress so much as she did going from AEW to NXT. At least with Jade it was because they were trying to put her in a role that didn't fit her, with Blake they basically kept her doing the same Glamour gimmick and somehow it was like she left all her charisma in AEW.

So its weird, Drew pretty much had to win or be seen as a chump forever, but also doesn't seem like it was time for Cody to drop the title. I hope at least they give Drew a decent run out of this since he's been great for a while now.
-
Man, WWE really has been trying to copy anything Toni Storm does these days.
-
I was okay until Shibata had to battle him one last time, then having to leave before 46,000 saw him get too emotional. Also holy shit, Ibushi walking the whole goddamn Dome ramp with a healing femur may have been the toughest thing I've ever watched another human being do.
-
You know what, props to Matt Cardona. Dude wanted to be back in WWE and worked his ass off to make it happen.
-
Watching Smackdown now, and good lord Dragunov vs Melo was outstanding. I don't think I've ever seen Ilja have a match that wasn't anything other than amazing, his matches look like actual fights every time.
-
Well besides cheating to beat Takeshita, they also are planting the seeds for an Okada feud with Kyle since he screwed with his semifinal match by stealing his gimmick.
-
Man, wasn't expecting this show to be planned out around Mox doing the Stone Cold babyface turn except he actually ended up winning. I know a lot of folks here weren't big on his title run, but he has been on a phenomenal run.
