I know what it is, so honesty don't worry I'll pass up on it, I greatly appreciate the offer. It's clearly not something that cant be look passed because I left and didn't contact. And this is no way me seeking attention or trying to cause a stir, I thought I was in a better position to make a suggestion, clearly not.
-
Just to put end to this, it was merely a suggestion to help two new writers out and keep them going. I don't want there to be a reluctantancy to people giving wrestlers up. In the same breathe I don't want to be in a draft with a load of guys that wouldn't better my roster and then be told I'm ungrateful etc. So best not to over this again...

Just curious: What has happened between March 20th and now that you are no longer content with "(your) usual small roster"? I'm not in any way opposed to sending talent your way or making guys available in a supplemental draft. I'm quite happy to help out how I can... but I do wonder why your attitude about the roster has apparently changed. It's not about numbers really more just a bit of quality to get excited about booking, I'd struggle to have 35-40 odd wrestlers and make them mean something. That makes sense. More guys will become available with the Fresh Faces drafts and so on... but I could see wanting to get some more going sooner rather than later. It's not much, but: I'm always up for a talent exchange. That Akira for Hickerson swap seems to be working well for both guys. Feel free to pm me any time if there's anyone on my roster you wanna use. It does and everyone has been great with loans and trades. It again was merely a suggestion to add some quality names, I'm booking Gama Singh as my top heel, Gama Singh has been rarely since the start of this game, but there's only so much you can do with him.
-
In fact the conversation was out of your roster I was only really interested in the Calargy guys and anyone you offered up would be wrestlers I'd probably only use to trade off and didn't want to leave a bad taste. I honestly don't want cause any fiction, so will pass on the draft, and keep going as I am.

I'll pass and carry on as I was. Was merely making a suggestion. And too Genes point, you have help out massively. It wasn't a point of hoarding loads of guys and then just quitting.
-
You have indeed Kevin, but they just haven't been what I wanted. I'm grateful for everyone's help, I've had loads of it. It was merely a suggestion to add some quality. I'm speaking for myself, Dex may have other opinions. But twice I've made the suggestion and twice been shut down and told I'm distruptive...
-
What was passive aggressive about it this time? It was a suggestion. You have blown a simple comment out of the water and thrown a strop, again. Seriously I'm happy with what I've got, I'd rather not rock the LowBlow boat...
-
Why are you so against it? I'll pass on it if it's an issue to you.
-
I mean from others rosters. So you guys protect X amount of wrestlers and me and Dex get to select 5 or so names to add some quality...
-
I do think maybe we should look into a "protected" "unprotected" list to help myself and Dex grow our rosters with some quality even if it just involves selecting 3 to 5 guys to help add some quality. I know it won't be a popular message, and be shot down, but wouldn't see the harm in allowing us select maybe 3 to 5 guys from across the game to help us out. I'll place my tin hat on now and duck...
-
I don't think there is any harm in it, whether people see value in them. I told Dex to look at some results for WWC in 1985 as there will be some guys missing like Barrabas, The Invaders and Miguel Perez Jr...
-
Was so close to pushing the button on picking up Carlos Colon and Hercules Ayala this afternoon, welcome back Dexstar Glad I pulled the trigger ... the rowdy PR crowds might not have been able to handle a WWC without Carlos. I'll be posting full roster from the FA pool later today! Was just thinking of things to do with Hugo Savinovich when I stop using Lawler at the end of the month, and those two were an idea

Smoky Mountain Wrestling is a proud partner of the National Wrestling Alliance Smoky Mountain Power Hour Saturday 25th May 1985 Knoxville Civic Ballroom, Knoxville, TN Taped in front of a live studio audience at the Knoxville Civic Ballroom, Knoxville, TN Hosted by Charlie Platt and David Crockett Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion - Gama Singh Smoky Mountain Tag Team Champions - Ricky Vaughan & Don Kernodle The opening credits roll, and is followed by Charlie Platt and David Crockett being joined by Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, Lawler says he thought all his troubles were behind him when he and the Memphis Vice defeated the Infernos, only for Hugo Savinovich and Abdullah The Butcher to ruin the moment for him. He explains that the Memphis Vice have moved on and this is a battle for himself. From the other side of the studio, Hugo Savinovich walks out smoking a cigar, Savinovich says that he was contacted by a person who would like to remind anonymous, and that person ask if they could relive Smoky Mountain Wrestling of ‘The King’. Lawler asks who this coward is who would send a Butcher after him, Savinovich butts in and says thats the least of his worries, because this Monday his Butcher will collect the bounty on his head, Hugo Savinovich then just strolls off puffing on his cigar. Lawler tells Platt and Crockett he’s going to deal with Abdullah and Savinovich this Monday night in Knoxville. === Commercial === After a short break, we are joined by a new trio here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the Heartbreakers, ‘Toy Boy’ Tony Falk, ‘Sexy’ Steven Dunn and new to the group, ‘Gigolo’ Jimmy Del Ray. Falk says it didn’t go quite to plan last week, and that’s why they needed to shake it up a little and they have added the Gigolo to the group, so this week, Steven Dunn and Jimmy Del Ray will have their chance to win a tag team title match if they can beat their mystery opponents Les Thatcher has sorted for them. Dunn and Del Ray make their way to the ring as Tony Falk joins Platt and Crockett for commentary, Charlie Platt introduces the new team to the area, The Latin Lovers, Javier Cruz and Vinnie Valentino. The Lovers make their way out to the ring, getting kisses and hugs from the young ladies in the crowd, as they slide into the ring, Dunn and Del Ray jump the Latin Lovers and the bell rings. Del Ray is a very athletic lightweight wrestler who puts in an impressive performance but it isn’t enough for his team, when the Lovers pick up the win at 7 minutes when Javier Cruz lifts Steven Dunn into a spinebuster position when Valentino comes of the ropes with a running clothesline, and covers him for the 3 count. As soon as the bell rings Tony Falk jumps into the ring and we have a 3 on 2 beat down, the new trio of The Heartbreakers make their to the back following the beat down. === Commercial === We return with David Crockett standing at a table with a new championship belt on it, ladies and gentlemen, one of the key focuses of the NWA and Smoky Mountain Wrestling is to bring you the best professional wrestling across all divisions of wrestling and with that being said the National Wrestling Alliance and Smoky Mountain Wrestling would like to announce a 12 man round robin tournament for the new NWA International Junior Heavyweight Title. This division will be limited to wrestlers under the 220-pound mark. As you can see from the graphic on the screen, it will be a round robin tournament, 12 men split into 2 groups, with the top two of each group moving into a playoff, and the winners facing off for the title. For every win a wrestler will receive 2 points and for a draw you receive 1 point, each match will have a 15-minute time limit. We are now shown another graphic with the names of Block A and Block B. Block A ‘Gigolo’ Jimmy Del Ray – USA Marty Jones – United Kingdom – Representing Dale Martin Promotions Owen Hart – Canada – Representing Jim Crockett Promotions Pat Rose – USA Fishman – Mexico – Representing Universal Wrestling Association Ken Timbs - USA Block B Tim Horner – USA Dean Malenko – USA – Representing Jim Crockett Promotions 2 Cold Scorpio – USA Tony Falk – USA David Taylor – United Kingdom – Representing Joint Promotions Enrique Vera – Mexico – Representing Universal Wrestling Association These block matches will begin within a few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for dates in your local town. But for today we will have a junior’s showcase match. As two teams make their way to the ring, on one side we have Tim Horner, Marty Jones, 2 Cold Scorpio and Ken Timbs facing off with Fishman, David Taylor, Enrique Vera and Pat Rose. The match sees a lot of fast paced action with a mixture of high flying and technical wrestling, the end comes when there is some miscommunication between David Taylor and Pat Rose and Taylor strikes Rose with a stiff right hand and walks off allowing Tim Horner to roll Pat Rose up for the win at 9 minutes. Crockett comments on how excited he is too see the tournament unfold. === Commercial === Following the commercial we have Josh Stroud and Larry Hamilton facing off with The Rock N Roll RPMs, Mike Davis and Tommy Lane, the match goes for about 6 minutes, with Lane and Davis clearly outclassing the younger team of Stroud and Hamilton, and get the win following a double drop kick. Clearly mocking the Rock N Roll Express following the bell, Lane and Davis continue their beat down of the helpless Hamilton and Stroud, until Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson run out and chase off the RPMs. Morton and Gibson join Platt and Crockett, they tell the announcers that they have just signed a contract for a Best of 7 Series with the RPMs where there will be 2 singles matches and the rest will be tag matches and the winner of the series will be granted a Tag Team Title match and the loser will not receive any title matches in wrestling for 6 months and it starts this Monday in Knoxville. === Commercial === Before today’s main event, Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion Gama Singh and the former Tag Team Champions Don Kernodle and Boomer Lynch come to the announcer’s desk, Gama says that he won’t stand for dissention within his stable, so he’s willing to overlook this past Mondays tension and move onto this Monday with them winning back the tag team titles. Charlie Platt asks Gama his thoughts around his win this past Monday against Ken Lucas? Gama says that Ken Lucas cheated and there isn’t anything else to add, Platt says if Lucas can get the win in today’s main event then he will receive another heavyweight title match, Gama just drops in and says, well that won’t be happening. Today’s main event will see Don Kernodle facing off with Ken Lucas. Lucas makes his way to the ring, he points at Gama and his title and says he coming for it on Monday. As the bell rings, Gama and Boomer Lynch gather around the ring, only for the new Tag Team champions Brian Adias and Ricky Vaughan come out to make sure Singh and Lynch don’t get involved. The match goes for about 12 minutes when Lucas slaps on a Sleeper Hold, Kernodle looks like he’s going down when Gama Singh and Boomer Lynch jump up on the apron only for Ricky Vaughan and Brian Adias pull them off to make sure they don’t get involved, Kernodle passes out and the referee calls for the bell, Ken Lucas gets another shot at Gama Singh this Monday night. Lucas celebrates with Ricky Vaughan and Brian Adias as Gama Singh and Boomer Lynch check on Don Kernodle. === Show Ends ===

Tombstoning midgets was a little advance for 1983 Portland in hindsight...lol. Well, this is some fun reading. Enjoying everyone except Ricky Vaughn, but that has nothing to do with your writing. lol Knoxville is looking to be in good hands. Thanks for the feedback. Would you not say Vaughan had the look for a small territory if no the talent?

East Tennessee - Wright/Thatcher - (News from the Wrestling Observer) - Been very quiet on the Smoky Mountain front over the past month that maybe because they have been working on several different plans to take the promotion forward. - In a move that seems very ambition, Smoky Mountain Wrestling will be running a show in Nashville Tennessee in the month of June, Monday 24th looks like the date. The idea first came about when Jerry Lawler and long time Memphis/Nashville stalwart Paul Morton went to Les Thatcher and Ron Wright with the idea of running a Monday night in Nashville, at the Nashville Fairgrounds. The plan will be to have Jerry Lawler on top with The Rock N Roll Express underneath both likely to be title matches. Wright and Thatcher are both aware that USWA/UWF run Memphis, but feel there is a market being missed with shows not being held weekly in that side of Tennessee. Let's see how it plans out. - There are plans to introduce a secondary title in the promotion, although Wright and Thatcher are fond of the idea of having a Television Champion we believe there are going to go the way of a junior title. A few deals have been put in place to bring in some younger lighter wrestlers that can really move around the ring. - Abdullah the Butcher and Hugo Savinovich have come in, Abdullah will probably only be around until the Nashville show, but Savinovich will probably be used to cycle in several top foreigns heel to go against Lawler, that is of course if Lawler stays around, at the moment he only has a deal until July 1st. - The Rock N Roll Express will likely be done up after the Nashville show also, reason being, they are being used only for TV and Mondays, and Wright and Thatcher feel they along with Lawler have helped set up the territory and build several stars, but they need guys on the road all week and not just in Knoxville. - Jerry Bryant, Lou Winston, The Wild Hoggs and Lou Albano all look like they are done with the territory, The Memphis Vice are headed north and the Hoggs, we havent heard yet, they never did click. Thatcher is looking are moving more guys on to bring in fresher faces.

Monday 20th May 1985 Knoxville Civic Auditorium, Knoxville, TN Bell Time 19:30 - As is the case every week, we have a showcase match on before the show starts, this week sees Larry Hamilton and Josh Stroud defeat Tommy Wright and Steve Gatorwolf in 6 minutes when Hamilton is a running clothesline to Gatorwolf and pins him. 1. Jimmy Del Ray and The Heartbreakers (Tony Falk & Steven Dunn) defeat Ken Timbs, Mike Jackson and Ron Ritchie in 7 minutes when Tony Falk rolled up Mike Jackson and put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage to get the win. Following the match, Falk offers Del Ray a spot in the Heartbreakers, Jimmy Del Ray agrees to join. - 2. The Rich Cousins (Johnny & Davey Rich) defeat The Orient Express (Akira & Saito) with Ron Wright and The Mongolian Stomper in 16 minutes when there was some miscommunication between Akira and Saito and Johnny Rich hit a thesz press on Akira for the 3 count. Following the match the Mongolian Stomper jumped into the ring and laid a beat down to the Rich's. - 3. Too close out the first half of the show, the Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) go to a 30 minute time limit draw with the Rock N Roll RPM's (Mike Davis & Tommy Lane) in an excellent back and forth match with several near falls. - 4. Ricky Vaughan and Brian Adias defeat Don Kernodle and Boomer Lynch for the Smoky Mountain Tag Team titles in 12 minutes when Adias hits a side russian leg sweep on Kernodle and covers him for the victory and the titles. Following the match Boomer Lynch shoves Kernodle to the ground and leaves alone. - 5. Ken Lucas defeats Gama Singh for the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Championship in 15 minutes, the end of the match came when Lucas scooped up Gama Singh for a power slam and Gama's leg knocked Paul Morton to the ground, the match continued with Morton down when Lucas tossed Gama over the top rope. When Morton gets back to his feet Lucas has Gama locked in to the sleeper and Morton rings the bell as Gama has passed out. From the back Boomer Lynch comes out with Jerry Caulhon and points out that Lucas threw Singh over the top rope, Caulhon speaks with Paul Morton, and Morton reverses the decision and disqualifies Lucas, the ring announcer announces that due to the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Title being sanctioned from the NWA, NWA rules count and you aren't allowed to tossed your opponent over the top rope. This decision is meet by a series of boos from the crowd. - 6. In a Losing Team Must Leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling Cage Match, Jerry 'The King' Lawler and The Memphis Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston) defeat The Flame, Fire and Torch in 17 minutes in a bloody battle. The end came when The Flame went to throw fire into Lawler's face only for Lawler to kick it up into The Flame face as he lit it, followed by Lawler covering him for the 3 count. Following the match the security team escort The Flame, Fire and Torch out of the arena, the Memphis Vice leave the cage when they are attacked in the aisle way but ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER, who charges towards the cage, he gets into the ring there is another man on the outside, closer inspection sees that its Hugo Savinovich giving Abdullah the Butcher his orders. The Butcher continues to beat down Lawler in the ring and several of wrestlers including Ron Ritchie, Ken Timbs and Mike Jackson try and get into the ring but Savinovich has locked the cage door so Abdullah can continue his beat down.

SMW would like to pick up Hugo Savinovich as a manager.
