At this point all three men come to the announcers table, Ron tells Charlie Platt that the Tennessee Stud has returned and with that comes the return of the Studd Stable with himself, his brother Robert and his cousin Jimmy Golden and they will be taking over Southeastern like the Fuller family has done for years gone by. 18. PROUD MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV Saturday 13th August 1983 Taped in front of a live studio audience at the WTVY Television Studio in Dothan, AL Hosted by Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart After the credits roll we join Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart who welcome all the fans to another week of exciting Southeastern Championship Wrestling action. They run though todays TV matches, which will see “Professor” Bill Ash defend his United States Junior Title against Art Crews, also in action we will see Tom Pritchard teaming up with Bobby Eaton to take on Josh Stroud and Mike Jackson and our main event see’s Tim Horner and Ricky Gibson challenging for the Southeastern Tag Team Titles against the Assassins with Paul Jones. But before we go to any action we are shown clips of “Dirty” Dutch Mantell winning the Southeastern Heavyweight Title on Monday evening from “Bullet” Bob Armstrong in Birmingham in a bloody violence brawl. At this point we are joined by the new champion Dutch Mantell, who is looking very smug. As mentioned last week, it has been agreed due to the violence stemming from this rivalry Armstrong and Mantell will rotate appearances on TV weekly. Dutch does some trash talking saying that two weeks ago there were 2 Armstrong’s running around here and now thanks to him there’s not one. Charlie Platt informs us that we have a VTR of Bob Armstrong and he has a message for Dutch, Platt asks the truck to run the VTR. In the video filmed from his home sitting with his son’s Scott, Steve and Brian, notable absence is Brad. “Bullet” says his going to be exercising his rematch clause this week and he will be getting his title back. On a side note this is the first time we have seen 3 of 4 of Bob on TV. We go back to the announcer’s desk with Dutch just laughing as he makes his way to the ring. === Advert === “Dirty” Dutch Mantell defeats Javier Cruz in 3 minutes with a running lariat in a dominate display as he gets ready to face off with "Bullet" Bob for the Southeastern Heavyweight Title rematch. === Advert=== Next up we have the relativity new team of Bobby Eaton and Tom Pritchard going up against the team of Josh Stroud and Mike Jackson. Both Eaton and Pritchard are extremely talented young wrestlers, both have been quoted as being future stars in the industry. This maybe just a one week thing or it could be longer but for now Eaton and Pritchard defeat Stroud and Jackson in 5 minutes following a Piledriver from Pritchard on Jackson followed by Eaton coming of the top rope to hit the Alabama Jam on a helpless Jackson before the 3 count. As the referee goes to raise Eaton and Pritchards hands they both push the referee back and raise one another’s hands. On commentary Platt says that Eaton and Pritchard make a great team but a shame about their attitudes. === Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile === “Professor” Bill Ash with Paul Jones and The Moondog in his corner successfully defends his United States Junior Title against Art Crews in 6 minutes when Art Crews submits to a Spinning Toe Hold in a competitive match. === Advert === Johnny Rich defeats Tony Falk in 4 minutes following a Flying Cross Body. After the match Johnny Rich is joined by Larry Hamilton as they go the announcers desk to talk with Platt and Stewart. They both say they want a rematch with Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden this Monday in Birmingham Alabama because they feel they can go that extra mile and put an end to this issue. === Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile === Following the break Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden are in the ring getting ready for the match with the new team all the way from the orient in the form of The Young Dragons, Shunji Kosugi and Kazuo Yamazaki. The Young Dragons who are currently on a 3 week tour from New Japan Pro Wrestling. Unfortunately for the visitors Golden and Fuller are far too strong and experienced for the young team and get put the wayside in just 3 minutes when Fuller hits a running knee lift and pins Kosugi. Following the match Fuller and Golden answer Johnny Rich and Larry Hamilton challenge and say the will grant them their rematch. === Advert === Today’s main event sees Ricky Gibson and Tim Horner challenging the Southeastern Tag Team Champions The Assassins who as always are joined by Paul Jones. The Assassins have been the tag champs for a few weeks now after defeating Ken Lucas and Eddie Hogan for the titles back in early July. After weeks of disrespect towards Southeastern Interviewer Jim Cornette, he has been asked to be Horner and Gibson’s corner person, after some persuading Jim agreed. Cornette and Jones have had a few issues the past few weeks with Jones pretty much bullying the young Cornette. In a very competitive match where Gibson and Horner are giving it their everything against the much bigger team of The Assassins. In the closing moments of the match Gibson and Horner look like they are going to get the win when, like we have seen many times before, Paul Jones gets involved by jumping up on the apron only for Jim Cornette to run around the ring and pull him down from the apron and starts to (loosely) attack him before Jones takes control and beats Cornette up. Back in the ring Assassin #1 goes over to ropes to see what is happening only for Horner to roll him up and get the 3 count after 8 minutes as the studio audience goes wild. Jones slides into the ring to try and break up the count, but was too late. Gibson and Horner collect their belts and pick Cornette up and celebrate to the back as The Assassins and Jones argue amongst each other as the show ends. === Show Ends === Quick Results 1. "Dirty" Dutch Mantel defeats Javier Cruz in 3 minutes. 2. Bobby Eaton & Tom Pritchard defeated Josh Stroud & Mike Jackson in 5 minutes. 3. 21. The souths hottest feud (possibly?) is available to you Kris, current reigning and defending Southeastern Heavyweight Champion "Dirty" Dutch Mantell versus former champion "Bullet" Bob Armstrong.
  22. Normally with these things I'm done already, the initial draft and excitement of booking stuff does wear off. But I'm still really enjoying it. I did plan out my main angles week by week but made sure I still had stuff to think about week by week to keep interest high. I found planning stuff out in so much detail for months in advance that means you end up just writing and not really thinking (thinking being the fun part). That's sort of why did the AWA thing, just so I could have a bit of fun and the creative juices keep flowing. This weekend I just got smashed and couldn't even pick up a laptop to type let alone do any justice to this weeks telly.
  23. Have had a massive blowout this weekend so this weeks Southeastern will be a little delayed.
  24. Pretty certain peachchaos is going with Marty Oates as he's already made a post about him and he's agreed too loan him to me. So we could move on...
