It is also the fact that they have no idea if the 3 guys listed will even be in the company in the next 4 months. I think that is why they are only going with guys like Taven and Shane Taylor. I don't hear ANY buzz about other companies wanting them.
-
Given how they are pushing this ROH vs NWA feud right now and given how stories about a large number of the roster will be out of Ring of Honor by the end of summer (by choice), I expect the main event of Final Battle this year to be Eli Drake vs Matt Taven From watching the show, the judge to tell whether we should care about something is the rate of music lyrics that are recited during commentary of the show. The whole main event was almost a contest to see who could squeeze as many of them as possible. I think they just as surprised at the sudden and nothing ending as we were
-
Well we knew the Cobb wasn't going to beat Taven but for someone who is supposedly undefeated that was a rather easy win for Taven. Have to think the future is looking bright for Cobb and he is leaving this sinking ship

Baltimore is really Ring of Honor's best market. Maybe there only market since they don't run New York as much. Well this PPV from the looks of it is in a building about 30% fill and a mostly dead crowd. I remember last year around this time wondering why the fuck they are running 8000 seat building when they are lucky to get 2000. Now they are worried about building half the size getting 1000. The NWA being the babyface in this feud on a Ring of Honor PPV is really dumb but not surprising.

Like I have mentioned in other places, if anyone should know that having one of the best rosters doesn't mean anything it would be Seth Rollins when dealing with Ring of Honor in most of 2008 and early 2009 under Adam Pearce and burned out Gabe booking
-
COME ON Buff Bagwell was much better than Baron Corbin God I can't believe I typed that
-
we are definitely getting Corbin vs Rollins at Extreme Rules. Imagine how the Philly crowd is going to deal with that
-
So Corey justifying the heel ref by saying "she is from the South so they are a little slow". Love when the heel ref decides to do a normal count. I mean seriously what is the point of that
-
God I hope that Lacey can ref better than she can wrestle We are also going to get heavy shtick commentary which for main events are just terrible
-
Okay that was a goofy finish but if you are going to do the stupid escape rule than that was clever Not a bad match but just took forever
-
So unless this show is having a couple more filler matches or the schedule on the Network is completely screwed up we have about 90 minutes for two of the least interesting matches on this show This cage match really needs blood.
-
Roman vs Drew is much better than their Wrestlemania match but there again it has had more time and we aren't 5 hours into a show. The Shane interference is garbage but you knew it would happen over and over again.
-
Wait we are getting AJ Styles vs Ricochet tomorrow. AWESOME By the way has there ever been a PPV since 2016 that hasn't had a match with Charlotte or AJ Styles. So weird
-
Something tells me that when they booked this match they had no idea that Daniel Bryan would be cheered IN HIS HOME STATE PLEASE RECYCLE and DRIVE A PRIUS. This is definitely new ones that I can only figure happens in Washington
-
I did not think Ricochet was going to win the title but this was going to be his make or break match on the main roster. Another damn good match. They should just replay the 1st hour of this PPV because I am not sure the next 3 will get this good
-
I like that Ali's gimmick is kind of based on his past as a Chicago policeman. Hopefully they don't make it too "Let Make a Different Fatu". I figure we are going to get a number of these segments to somehow fill 4 hours No surprise that New Day vs Owens/Generico has been great
-
The theme of this PPV is a knock off of a Nancy Sinatra song
-
Good for Drew Gulak winning the Cruiserweight title. Calling him the "face of 205" isn't a gimmick. He has been the best. The progression of him in the company has been really fun to watch
-
So unless the New Day vs Owens/Zayn has been changed to a cage match or there isn't going to be a pre-show match Never mind they are just doing a talking segment inside a cage
-
Not only is it a less than full arena it is less than full arena with sections of the building tarped off. That's how bad it is Ricochet vs Samoa Joe is really the only bright spot for me. Given that they have 4 hours to kill with this lineup I would think it gets time. New Day vs Sami & Kevin will be the usual very good pre-show match. But yeah the rest of the show is basically built on the dread of what awful things could happen 1. Is Bayley AND Becky Lynch losing tonight? It would be amazingly stupid but I fully expect Bayley to lose tonight 2. A main event with Baron Corbin and a probable Brock run in 3. A cage match with Dolph Ziggler
-
So I guess the only selling point for Stomping Grounds tonight is Joe vs Ricochet and Brock or Heyman as the ref for the Rollins/Corbin snoozefest. Can't believe this is going to be a 4 hour show. Hopefully we get 30 minutes of 24/7 goofiness
-
I am ashamed to admit this but I did like that the ref was called J Edgar Cooper I am convinced that they put this Hidden Gems up just to see how long someone in the office would yell about having a show with a guy named H. Ivy Thomsen up. If you really want to go down a horrible path, imagine some of these awful names under 2019 Mauro. "Dick Butkus Jr struggling more than Neal Anderson after he fumbled two times against the Packers this weekend". And yes I am probably getting my 1999 Chicago Bears mixed up
-
They were setting up another Reigns vs McIntyre match for their next PPV. So it make sense but man it is just weird. For the last 4 years he has been booked at the most important guy in the company but since he has come back from leukemia he has been a mid card guy in some really weak feuds. Drew is a considerable upgrade to the guys he has dealt with

Lance Armstrong being the great cyclist of all time is like Barry Bonds being the greatest home run hitter of all time. It is probably true but we know why he got that way too
