If you are into conspiracies then Byron Saxton who JBL has openly hated to the point not just being a "heel" moving to Smackdown is more than a coincidence. Although it seems like everyone hates Saxton including the faces with really good reason at times..

Oh yeah, for sure they're trying to make Roman the new John Cena after last week and this week talking shit about Taker in his promo and then getting demolished. After a few weeks before WM when they clearly had Braun cut a promo to get face heat in Chicago against Roman. If you watched that segment and thought it was supposed to be a ROMAN IS THE BEST DON'T YOU LOVE HIM?!?!?!?!?! segment, then lol. The whole purpose of Braun was to build a monster so that Roman Reigns can destroy it. Not to make him a champion or the most over guy. It doesn't matter if the crowd is chanting "You Deserve It" at a guy destroyed 2 or 3 times in a span of 5 minutes. The ultimate plan is Brock vs Reigns whether it is Wrestlemania next year or at Summerslam this year. Not going to change. Not Brock vs Braun no matter how awesome that match could be. The smart thing is to keep Roman off TV but would it really shock you if comes back at Payback and gets the win?
-
Love how they are debuting the Drifter in the most whatever way possible.
-
I will just enjoy how incredible that segment was for now and completely forget that Reigns will beat him at Payback They tried to hide that crowd reaction but Braun destroying Reigns is easily the biggest pop of the night. I mean a fucking "You deserve it" chant for a stretcher job. Yeah I am sure he will be the next John Cena

It might be sad but anyone that finds it surprising is extremely naive. Cornette is from the generation that remembers people like a Mr Fuji and Dynamite Kid who probably would not only mentally tortured a guy with depression issues but beat the fuck out of him as well because it would pop the boys. Back in his day people with symptons similiar to bi-polar, autism, or depression were considered special needs losers and rejects of society. Chances if a guy like Mauro was hanging around a Memphis or SMW locker room that half of his life would be a living hell. I apologize if I sound like a jerk in this thread but even though we live in 2017, the wrestling business is mostly run by guys who either thinks it is 1987 or wishes it was 1987 because of "those damn millennials" and their feelings.

What are your thoughts on making Wrestlemania a 2 day event?
hammerva replied to rzombie1988's topic in Pro Wrestling
It depends. Are they going to charge the same amount that you would have to pay this year for 2 nights in a row? Asking wrestling fans to pay $170 (my price of tickets) on two straight nights for maybe a 3 hour show is going to be a major undertaking. Because trying to make a 4 hour show two nights in a row can't happen unless you have 10 minute matches going 30 minutes or add a bunch more Pitbull concerts For a two night event, it would be better to run in a 40K or 50K arena but since Wrestlemania is all about BIG BIG BIG that doesn't work anymore The one major advantage of this for the WWE would be a serious kick to the nuts on those 117 other events that happen this weekend. You aren't choosing a between 2 or 3 8:00 - 12:00 shows if you know there is going to be a Wrestlemania show that night. -
Well if I was the Coach I would give 30% of my paycheck to Vince because who knows what midnight local radio show he would be on if it wasn't for that awful WWE gig

I just saw that and loved it. He's absolutely right. They should be ashamed of their relationship with WWE. Oh come on this is a network that has talking heads justify the assault of women from NFL players. We are really expecting them to address bullying from a company that is a small piece of their collective pie
-
Well if you read JBL's twitter he is using the "I am a heel" to justify it. That has been the typical response from the WWE when there is obvious bullying during these last 4 or 5 years. And unless Mauro can prove that Layfield did this shit outside of a WWE setting that will be how he gets away with it. Besides the WWE has the best lawyer in the business for shit like this and has chewed up and spit out bigger people than Mauro
-
So demoting him to NXT is actually a worse message then what it looks like what is happening now? I was tired of Mauro act on Smackdown months ago. And Tom Phillips isn't bad. But forcing a person out of company because he can't take bullying "like a man" in their eyes is complete bullshit and would be a million dollar lawsuit in any legit business.

The fact that Excalibur was doing commentary kind of tells you that even they realize this is a train wreck kind of show. Especially when it is sarcastic version and not the PWG main event version. by the way there will be a Janela show next year in New Orleans. If anyone is going to do a show in or within a block of Bourbon Street for WM weekend this is probably it
-
So his first match will be a dark match against Dolph Ziggler. Eh
-
Nakamura on real WWE TV was supposed to happen. Nakamura on real WWE TV in a program with the freaking Miz is beyond surreal I didn't know that Dillinger was on the "list" of people being called up after WM. I wonder if he is replacing the Drifter

As soon as I saw Evil Emma coming out, my ideal scenario would be to have Dana turning Bayley and join Emma, get saved by Sasha, and then Sasha does the inevitable heel turn on Bayley. Probably too many feuds at one time but Dana and Emma are made for each other So is Nia or Charlotte the face in this one?

Watch six other shows besides Wrestlemania this weekend. Basically didn't do many things in Orlando that wasn't wrestling. Should have come in a day or so earlier. In no particular order here are my favorite non WM matches: 1. Keith Lee vs Riccohet EVOLVE 80 - if there was one guy that made the most impact it was Keith Lee as he has great matches all weekend. I heard that Keith Lee vs Dijak was even better. Keith is a massive guy but really quick in the ring and just a ton of personality. Riccohet was all over the place as well and had some so many fun matches 2. Team Osprey vs Team Riccohet Wrestlecon SuperShow - if you have ever complained in the last couple years about both guys then you are going to hate this match. If you like these two then this was the most incredible example of their methods. Guys like Lio Rush, Jason Cade, ACH, Sami Callihan, Drew Galloway, AR Fox, Marty Scurill and a ton of others just doing hundreds of kicks and hundreds of multiple man spots. The best example of this was four guys doing a shooting star press while Sami does a tombstone piledriver in the middle of the ring. Even had a Soul Train dance off. 3. Matt Riddle vs Dan Severn Janela Spring Break - yes two guys working a quasi MMA style at 3 in the morning on Thursday. Severn really looked good with some nice throws. Loved the ground work. I know that Dan works in places like AIW so there was no real rust. 4. Riccohet vs Shane Strickland - Pancakes & Piledrivers - Strickland worked a lot of places including Low Ki at Wrestlecon and was in the finals of CZW Best of the Best but I thought this was his best performance from what I saw. Of course they have faced each other many times. A guy that has gotten so better since Lucha Underground. 5. Joey Janela vs Marty Janetty - this was an incredible job by Janela taking a guy who was completely fucked up in Janetty in a solid match. Tons of bells and whistles including about 4 or 5 ref bumps, Virgil coming out in a mask to attack Janela, the eventual Earl Hebner run in, and much more. Just a really fun match that probably had no business to be thanks to the insanity of Janela

I think he's a great heat magnet. The people truly hate him, which is rare in modern wrestling Someone on Twitter brought up the perfect way to introduce him on RAW this Monday. Have the arena go black. Start playing piano music. Just when people think the Hardy's are showing up that damn guitar hits and here he comes. Imagine the nuclear heat that would get ]

While it is really stupid that the Smackdown tag titles are not being defended at Wrestlemania, it is more offensive that right now Luke Harper doesn't have a WM match at all. Some people think they will re-unite with the wyatts and interfere but I don't know on that
-
Right now the plans are Thursday - EVOLVE 80 and Janela show Friday - Revolution Pro & Wrestlecon SuperShow Saturday - Wrestling Revolver & CZW Sunday - Probably the Hardy's event & Mania I thought I was finished but PROGRESS finally decided to announce matches for their Friday show and damn that is looking good. If I go to the show then I will have absolutely no time for anything not wrestling this weekend. I am so jealous of people who are going there on a Tuesday or Wednesday so they can actually enjoy the area.

Catching up on the NXT shows (I usually binge watch NXT now) and finished watching Roode vs Ohno. It still cracks me up that people are so "OH MY GOD LOOK HOW FAT HERO IS". First of all you are showing your wrestling bubble. It isn't like he put on 25 pounds in about 2 weeks to get ready for his return. when he came back to EVOLVE in 2015 (maybe earlier) after his first run of NXT he looked the same and it wasn't surprising given how all the rumors on why he left. But here is the thing, he wrestles the same style that he did in the first run. It isn't like Ohno was a doing flips he was knocking people out. Plus his cardio is not an issue. He isn't getting blown up in his matches.

What Happened When with Tony Schiavone
hammerva replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Starting listening to this podcast and are we assuming the Tony fucked some of the Nitro Girls or that Tony is a creepy pervert who want people to think that he fucked some of the Nitro girls He doesn't seem to remember a lot from judging the Nitro final show one but does offer some great stories. -
Well I assume it is going to be like all the stuff with ICW in England where the guys (except for a few) that were originally there are still there as long as they sign WWE deals I don't see Ring of Honor turning into the place that puts Bo Dallas or Tino Sabatteli as their champions
-
I wonder if it is more the library or the TV that may come with it. Right now the only thing in Ring of Honor is the Bullet Club and the Hardys. Maybe Dalton Castle. Everyone else is either going to the WWE or EVOLVE. If this actually happened I would assume new Japan is going to have issues and it is bye bye to them. Which given the tailspin that ROH has been in since they became New Japan's bitch maybe that is a good thing

The whole Smackdown tag division has been booked pretty terribly. It is hard to get them over when the only time they are booked is on a Smackdown show and then it is usually a gauntlet or 4 way match. They can't even get a pre show match at the Royal Rumble. It wouldn't surprise me if they defend the title on the first match of the Wrestlemania Pre show Shane vs AJ is going to be an interesting fight and a fight it might be given how Shane is a mixture of awful worked punches and potato shots. I thought the suplex on the cover of the announcer's desk was an injury waiting to happen but on the replay it was okay

Miz & Maryse doing their version of Total Bellas
