  1. I could never get into them because they were a total Road Warriors rip-off and I knew I was basically watching the Masked Superstar and Krusher Kruschev. They were both good wrestlers but I didn't like their "theme". Btw, Bill Eadie will always be one of my favorite heels as the MS. Great wrestler too!
  2. One six man tag from MSG where they face each other is all I can think of that's out there at the moment. They don't wrestle in the footage shown. It's roughly 2 minutes of highlights. I'd have to check to see if Brody and Andre in fact did hook up again, but that match aired on WWE Classics on Demand, along with the rest of the card, so more than highlights have aired. Let me know please.

  4. It's his look. He looks awesome and has one of the best wrestler names ever. I'd imagine for a lot of people, myself included, Brody was over with them before ever even seeing a match thanks to the magazines. When I was a teenager I loved the guy for years before ever seeing him in a match. By the time I did, all those negatives either didn't matter or went unnoticed, at least that's how it was for me. And since I finally first saw him in some World Class matches where he was a no selling monster/ enforcer brought in to kick heel ass, I wanted him to be a no selling guy. So I'd guess that for a lot of people the aura was always enough. Beat me to it. He looked awesome (esp. with all those scars on his head). I still like him though and wish I could see some of those Andre-Brody battles. Are any of them on tape anywhere?
  5. The cage match between Benoit and Angle is one of the best ever except for the dumb ending.
  6. Physical Graffiti Best of the nWo spray painting beat downs
  7. http://network.yardbarker.com/author/artic...001?widget=true Case has been re-opened.
  8. Back at some point in the early 90's, I went to visit my cousin in Atlanta and he took me out to a local sports bar. He told me three weeks before that that Flair and Arn came in and Ric bought the whole bar a drink. I kept looking at the front door hoping it would happen again.
  9. Dick Murdoch and Rene Goulet
  10. I still love that feud. When Flair was sticking the barbwire in Foley's eye and saying to Melina "I kill you too, you f'ing bitch!" was priceless. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xyakky_ri...rt#.Ucr7LzS1GR4
  11. 1) Steamboat 2) Dusty 3) Windham 4) Savage 5) Nikita
  12. But I thought he was the devil?
  13. They don't own Memphis, and likely never will, as most of those tapes are gone. They also don't own smaller territories like Continental or Portland. But they do own all of the major ones, and even some not-so-major ones like Smoky Mountain. What happened?
  14. I wish I could see the entire cards of some of the old NWA shows I went to in Philly. There were good start to finish.

  16. I can't watch certain old school WWF cards in their entirety. No reason to watch Steve Lombardi vs Jose Luis Rivera going to a twenty minute draw.
  17. Damn. Never knew that. Would love to see this!
  18. Which Bret are you talking about?
  19. There was one point I could watch wrestling almost all day and night on Saturdays in NJ. Between this and horror movies, I never went out. These times could be wrong but it was roughly this schedule: 8am-10am NWA on WTBS 10 am WWF on WWOR (Ch. 9) 11 am Pro Wrestling USA (NWA/ AWA) WPIX (Ch. 11) 12 pm Glow (can't remember if it was on WWOR or WPIX) 1pm NWA (can't remember channel but I think it was Ch. 17) 2 pm NWA on the Spanish Station (hosted by Hugo Savinovich) 3pm Some crappy promotion I can't remember other than that they used Kashmir in their opening credits. 4pm WWF on WWOR 6pm-8pm NWA on WTBS 9pm Hawaiian Wrestling on one of CNN's sister channels (the one with the constant ticker at the bottom) 10pm UWF (can't remember channel) 12am WWF WWOR Plus, there was World Class on at some point in the mornings and sometimes there was a 7 or 8pm WWF on WWOR. Also, there was the occasional Saturday Night's Main Event on NBC. Good times! P.S. On Sundays, there was WWF on USA Network around noon, NWA Power Hour (is that the right name?) around 3pm and the regular NWA show on WTBS around 6pm, and there was an NWA show on later around 9pm on Ch. 57 which ALWAYS ended with a incomplete match at the end (usually Dusty vs one of the Four Horseman)!
  20. I don't think Ivan is a great choice, I was just saying realistically he was RIGHT THERE and in wrestling sometimes it happens that they'll go with convenience rather than what is the best choice. You will likely not agree at all, but I think Ivan in 83 had a more realistic chance of happening than Patera in 81. If Ivan did get the title, I don't think it would have been in June but likely later. More of a 30-60-day sort of reign. Granted, that would have been a shockingly shit main event for the first Starrcade, but they could have built it up in various ways. NWA vs. old WWWF, USA vs. USSR etc. etc. Plus Nikita is around the corner. I'm not saying it's a great scenario, but if Race wasn't there I can see them looking at it as a possibility. If he hadn't been in a feud with Piper at the time, what about Greg Valentine?
  21. No, not really. They were $19 because they were bleacher seats. There was enough empty "real" seats though, that I just moved down and sat in one them. Those would have cost me $38 and ringside seats were $98. I would have been pissed paying that much for this card.
  22. The strangest part of this angle was that the Iron Sheik became his ally and was given a different name and a different country (Iraq over Iran). I can't remember, but did they mention anything of the two of them having any history going against each other?
  23. Part of the reason I went is that it was close to my house and the tickets were only $19. I knew it was going to be weak.
  24. I went to the card tonight. Didn't have time to post anything other than the results since I had to drive my nephews home. Wasn't anything great but it was fun. My only complaint is the faces won every match. Kinda boring when it goes that way. Plus, Sandow even jobs to Khali now. WTF? The no DQ match was better than I anticipated (kendo sticks, chairs, and a table). Best part of the night was The Shield beating the crap out of Riley and Hawkins. Plus, Ziggler got on the mic and called the crowd a bunch of marks.
  25. Sorry, Curt Hawkins.
