FWIW, Shida and Conti did excellently in the quarter and minute-by-minute ratings. The women's division's booking has definitely picked up steam in the last few months. The belt has to go to Britt though. Shida has been an extremely important champ, but Britt is the major star right now, and they have a lot of young babyfaces in the wings to challenge her.

Hopefully we see some continuation of the Impact angle here after Omega's victory

So Chelsea Green and a fan who made some art for her that she used without credit (and then blocked the fan when he requested it) are having a groan-inducing feud over on Wrestling Twitter. Chelsea made a mistake by not crediting him and blocking him when he requested credit, but Wrestling Twitter showed they are not much better by relentlessly mocking and insulting and bullying Chelsea, and then tagging indies demanding they do not book her. Yeah, cuz Chelsea Green is surely the first person in wrestling history to use someone else's work to promote themselves without crediting the actual artist

I love love LOVE the random Dave in-depth dive into wrestling history, but this is so accurate. He really doesn't need to be a first-break reporter anymore. Hell, I don't even care when he talks MMA, even though it is clear that he has zero technical knowledge of MMA and often looks like an idiot. But when I listen to Dave on WOR, what I really want is random in-depth stories on wrestling history like Dave does sometimes. Of course Charlotte blew that whole thing into tremendously exaggerated babyface support, but anyone following her arc will know that Dave did not really make a huge mistake, although he should have absolutely, definitely checked with Charlotte before making any generic statements in public about any woman wrestler. So again, I really think that wrestlers focus on Dave radio shows when they just want management to like them again

Page is obviously the future and given my distaste for Omega, it is not surprising that I would want Page to take the title off Omega as soon as possible. However, I agree that it is too soon to do that rematch. They need to build that properly. I think it would be a mistake to book Page to challenge Omega and come up short. I get that Omega's ultimate coronation in NJ was much longer with a lot of draws, but the U.S scene has historically been different. For an ascendant potential ace in the US, I think you need to pull the trigger on them the first time they challenge for the title in the main event of a marquee show. Otherwise, the fans simply move on. Roman Reigns did not definitively beat Brock Lesnar in the main event of WM in 2015 cuz they got cold feet, and arguably he has never been the same since

I agree about Tajiri not having a lot of high-end matches, but at the same time, I fucking love Tajiri. He is so so awesome. I think Dylan once made an argument that Tajiri's 2000 run trumps HHH's 2000 run, and I am totally on board with that

This is very cynical, but I feel WWE wrestlers also do this to get into the good books of management. Charlotte has every right to tell Dave to go fuck himself, but I cannot help but feel that one reason she is doing it is cuz she might have heat cuz of the Andrade situation (which is obviously ridiculous in of itself but this is WWE we are talking about) and what better way to become the golden child again than trashing Dave? Rollins showed us that is a great way to keep getting pushed by WWE

A dominant heel champ (since she won clean so many times, often squashing her opponents) who has shitty strikes, offence that mostly doesn't land and looks bad, and who has zero physical presence to make up for all of that? That's the opposite of playing a role well. She is a really talented out-of-ring performer and her character work is often excellent. But there is a reason why the fans were usually dead for her matches

That comically bad Sting-Luchasaurus punches and "headlock" sequences aside, I thought the main event was excellent. Darby is the man. I dunno what the deal with this Archer shit is, but I really hope they are building to Darby-Archer and not Sting-Archer

The last two minutes of the Jericho promo was excellent. Tony Khan needs to tell him to flat out stop making any jokes or puns or songs or whatever. Jericho has a terrible sense of humour and is far less funny than he thinks it is

These promises of violence would feel so much more impactful if you hadn't spent the previous 5 minutes cracking corny stupid bad jokes, Jericho

I wish they would focus more on Sammy in these segments, but Santana is so fucking cool, and also cuts excellent promos

Tony Khan was asked about this and he basically said something like he was not going to spend his money promoting an Impact PPV and that that is Impact's job. Not sure I agree with his line of thinking. This women's title match has been great so far. Shida has quietly had an excellent tile reign, carrying green, often bad workers to decent to very good matches, and having some fantastic matches with their better talents. Her reign is numbered, cuz it's Britt's time, but I hope she is remembered for pretty much establishing the AEW women's division and making that title feel legit and important.

I am glad MJF is being fully serious now, instead of trying to do the promo equivalent of "getting your shit in", where he would also try to insert witty lines and funny jokes and disrupt the rhythm of his promo. There were still jokes here - and as well as some shooty elements which I always dislike - but overall it was a lot more serious and focused, and as a result it turned out pretty great

I thought PENTA-Trent was a very good match with a stupid finish that made the babyface look stupid, my least favourite trope in modern wrestling

Well that finish was great. I am a mark for wrestlers using finishing moves that are not their trademarked finisher, but that fits into the context of the story of the match
