  1. Norm MacDonald.
  2. Sure!
  3. They just need to Wrestlemania X their way out of this, with Orton playing Yokozuna, Batista playing Luger, Bryan playing Bret, Triple H playing Mr. Perfect, and Kane playing Owen.
  4. Hopefully this means that Flair will pop up on the indies teaming with NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Ricky Morton as the Dead Beat Express.
  5. The big head-scratcher for me in terms of wrestlers that didn't make the top 100 is Nobuhiko Takada, who didn't even finish very close to the top 100 despite being on 10 lists. Any explanation as to the rationale for his not making the list?
  6. It is really hard to go wrong with 1986. The promotion really clicked that year.
  7. The judgment call clearly was putting the points for a Giant Machine vote into Andre's total instead of Baba's.
  8. Harley Race = Master of Disguise. He was also the other Ultimate Warrior.
  9. Satanico was on two lists. Yohe didn't count tag teams as a single slot, leading to (I suspect) depressed numbers among the tag guys.
  10. No doubt, but the right one is a weak candidate as it was just along for the ride.
  11. Paul Roma went from tag teams with Jim Powers and Hercules to tag teams with Arn Anderson and Paul Orndorff, both of which won tag titles. However, WCW during much of that time was in the pits perception-wise, so I'm not sure if that makes him a bigger star in a pushed capacity than he was in the WWF as a JTTS.
  12. Does this make Carlos Colon the Donn E. Allen of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame?
  13. It's even worse than Raven, TNA is giving its audience the return of Pacman Jones.
  14. I know this was Dave's comment many years ago but I still took a look... Wrestlers that were alive, above 45 years old at time of induction after 1996.. 2012 Mick McManus (age 92; died in May 2013) 2009 Konnan (age 46) 2009 The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane and Dennis Condrey) (average age about 55) 2009 Masa Saito (age 68) 2006 Hiroshi Hase (age 46) 2005 The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, and Buddy Roberts) (average age about 51, Gordy had died and Roberts died this year) 2004 Bob Backlund (age 55) 2001 Black Shadow (age 81; died in March 2007) 2001 Lizmark (age 52) 1998 Dos Caras (age 48) 1997 Édouard Carpentier (age 71; died in October 2010) Alfonso Morales (age 64) and Jim Ross (age 48) were inducted as well while they were alive but over the age of 45. Living and inducted under the age 45 from 1997 onwards: John Cena, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Jr., The Rock, Aja Kong, Masakatsu Funaki, Paul Heyman, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Masahiro Chono, Kazushi Sakuraba, Último Dragón, The Undertaker, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Manami Toyota, Kenta Kobashi, Bull Nakano, El Satánico, Akira Hokuto, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Shinya Hashimoto, Lioness Asuka, Jushin Liger, Keiji Mutoh, Chigusa Nagayo, El Hijo del Santo, Toshiaki Kawada Posthumous inductees (after the initial 1996 class): Henri Deglane, Hans Schmidt, Gus Sonnenberg, Lou Albano, Kent Walton, Steve Williams, Curtis Iaukea, Wladek Zbyszko, Roy Shire, Everett Marshall, Bill Miller, Martín Karadagian, Tom Packs, Evan Lewis, Paul Bowser, Eddie Guerrero, Tarzán Lόpez, Earl Caddock, Jack Curley, Wahoo McDaniel, Martin Burns, Diablo Velasco, Bill Longson, Frank Sexton, Sandor Szabo, Jimmy Lennon, William Muldoon (Dr. Death would have been 52 and Eddie would have been only 39 years old at time of induction) I couldn't find the birthdate of Francisco Flores (UWA promoter). For reference's sake, I believe the names that I bolded were "veterans' committee" inductees via fiat. Carpentier, Muldoon, and Lennon were inducted in 1997, before voting took place. It does still shoot a large hole in the "couldn't be voted in above the age of 45" argument, though.
  15. The most recent inductions for U.S. promoters have been Paul Bowser, Roy Shire, and Tom Packs. Fabiani isn't in.
  16. Keep us posted as the decision develops.
  17. I wonder why he's taking a relatively hard line on this?

    Current WWE

Yeah, I originally thought this was going to be a new stable of Nigel McGuinness, Sean Waltman, and Bob Orton Jr.
  19. The Tyrannosaur and its physical features remind Vince to never employ another Chris Benoit.

Diesel was supposed to be a biker? I thought with the theme music and name, he was supposed to be a tractor trailer. The WWF really missed the boat on not dressing up Nash as Optimus Prime with that gimmick.
  21. The onus is upon them to either find and e-mail apocryphal roller derby information to Dave, or else prove the outstanding pro wrestling build and payoff on Days of our Lives.
  22. It's a nice bio sans analysis. I know there's a summary, but when you point to "five domes" and don't look at them with any thought (Choshu retirement for starters), then it really isn't analysis. Sasaki will eventually get in. His "success" is a list of stuff, and it's easier to grasp a list of titles and cards that it looks like he drew on than it is to wade into the depth. John I know you don't care for lists, but who in the WON HOF has gotten in that you don't think should be there? At first glance, I imagine it would be unlikely to exclude Sasaki from a hall of fame that includes Chono & Hase.
  23. This obviously has to be credited to larger asses.
